MGM+’s Treasure Island, inspired by the classic Robert Louis Stevenson story, has begun production on the six-part series. MGM+ and Paramount+ UK & Ireland production has brought on board David Oyelowo (Silo), Hayley Atwell (Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning), Jack Huston (Mayfair Witches), Tomer Capone (The Boys), and Tom Sweet (Great Expectations) to star.
“Treasure Island is a bold and atmospheric reimagining of a story that has captivated audiences for generations. This adaptation brings fresh emotional depth and a striking contemporary edge to Stevenson’s classic. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Playground and MGM+ to bring this richly cinematic adventure to audiences in the UK and Ireland, the U.S. and beyond,” stated Paramount’s Sebastian Cardwell.
Oyelowo will play Long John Silver, Atwell is Bess Hawkins, Huston plays Aaron Graham, Capone stars as Billy Bones, and Sweet is Jim Hawkins.
MGM+ U.S. and Paramount+ UK & Ireland released this description of the series:
“Treasure Island is a bold, high-stakes coming-of-age adventure series for a new generation, charting the transformation of teenager Jim Hawkins from sheltered boy to emboldened young pirate. When Jim gets his hands on a legendary treasure map, his mother Bess’s clever and decisive actions leave him holding valuable knowledge that puts both of their lives in danger.
Sailing aboard The Hispaniola, Jim and Bess are caught between the charming, terrifying pirate Long John Silver and the debonair, duplicitous British agent Aaron Graham. Jim must grow up fast as he and his mother fight for survival on a voyage where alliances shift, secrets multiply, and peril closes in from all sides.
Set across the Atlantic, in a Caribbean on the brink of revolution and on the terrifying Skeleton Island, the series tracks Jim as he confronts a world far more complex and dangerous than he ever imagined, where resilience, loyalty and identity are tested – and fortune is the prize.”
Jeremy Lovering (Slow Horses), William McGregor (The Buccaneers), and Paul Walker (Shameless) will direct the series, which Robert Murphy created. Playground is producing the action drama.
Commenting on the series, MGM+’s Michael Wright said, “This thrilling new adaptation of Stevenson’s classic adventure Treasure Island is a perfect expression of the MGM+ brand. It is a classic Hollywood storytelling crafted for a contemporary audience, brought to life with an extraordinary ensemble cast led by David Oyelowo, Hayley Atwell, Jack Huston, Tomer Capone, and Tom Sweet.
Robert Murphy’s fresh take on Stevenson’s classic captures the timeless themes of the beloved story, and we are delighted to partner with Playground and our colleagues at Paramount+ UK and Ireland on this ambitious adventure.”
To be one with nature and to communicate with the animals is the focus of Pixar’s 2026 animated film Hoppers.
19-year-old Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda) has been a huge fan of all animals since she was a kid. When the film opens, little Mabel tries to sneak out all the class pets in her school—including a turtle, guinea pigs, fish, and other small creatures—but gets caught and punished by the school and her mom. Only her grandma (voiced by Karen Huie) seems to understand Mabel’s deep love for animals and anger toward those who would capture and keep wildlife.
Mabel’s grandma takes her to a beautiful glade, where she teaches her to calm herself and take in all the creatures living there. This sparks her love and passion for conservation.
Fast forward to a 19-year-old Mabel, who is always at odds with Mayor Jerry Generazzo (voiced wonderfully by Jon Hamm) over his efforts to expand the city at the cost of cutting into the existing wildlife. The latest battle now involves trying to stop the mayor from building a beltway over the glade.
When she’s not trying to save her beloved glade, Mabel attends Beaverton University. It’s there that she accidentally discovers new technology created by her favorite professor, Dr. Sam (voiced by Kathy Najimy), that allows a person to transfer their consciousness into a robot that looks exactly like a living animal to fool the real animals into believing that the robot is an animal.
“Guys, this is like Avatar,” says an impressed Mabel. “This is nothing like Avatar,” replies Dr. Sam, a little annoyed with Mabel for the comparison.
Mabel sees a chance to use this technology to save the glade. She transports her consciousness into a beaver robot, against Dr. Sam’s protests, and she escapes into the wild. Now Mabel, as the beaver robot, looks for animals to communicate with them and try to convince them to move back to the glade.
Her search leads to King George (voiced by Bobby Moynihan), who has created a new home for the animals displaced by the mayor’s beltway work. Beaver robot Mabel has her work cut out for her trying to get King George, along with hyper-energized lizard Tom (voiced by Tom Law); a huge grumpy grizzly bear named Ellen (voiced by Melissa Villasenor); and other creatures to move back to the glade to save it.
Visually stunning and extremely funny, Hoppers is a chaotic, warm-hearted adventure with a positive message about working together to overcome obstacles and about saving the environment.
The film has a fantastic voice cast led by Piper Curda, who brings to life Mabel’s determination, love of nature, and even her occasional selfishness in using others to get her own way. She’s a refreshing, multi-layered heroine for a Pixar film.
Jon Hamm is hilarious as the voice of Mayor Jerry Generazzo, the smooth, smiling politician who loves himself more than the community he represents and is determined to build the beltway no matter what the cost. Hamm really shines comedically in the second half of the film when Jerry becomes the focus of some of the animals’ wrath.
Hoppers is breathtaking to look at with lush, bright animation, and it’s jam-packed with zany and comical action. The only issue is with the film’s runtime, coming in at 106 minutes, which is about 20 minutes too long. The children at this critic’s screening were getting antsy and bored until the big crisis near the end of the film…which is actually another concern. The dark and dangerous tone of the film during the crisis may be too intense for children under seven.
Still, with marvelous animation, a stellar voice cast, and solid messages about friendship, compassion, and environmental awareness, Hoppers may not be in the upper tier of Pixar films, but it’s definitely a fun addition to their roster.

Matty is assigned to Olympia (Marshall), a senior attorney and key rainmaker with a thirst for justice; Olympia’s ex-husband, Julian (Ritter), the son of the head of the firm, is intrigued by Matty and her clever skills.
As Matty endeavors to establish herself in her new high-stakes world, she works alongside the firm’s younger associates—the charismatic Billy (Del Rio) and the uber-ambitious Sarah (Lewis).”

Carrie Preston returns to star as the titular character. Wendell Pierce is also back as Captain C.W. Wagner for the series’ third season.
Emmy Award winner Carrie Preston returns as Elsbeth Tascioni, the cunning yet unconventional consent decree attorney working with the NYPD to track down New York’s most well-heeled murderers utilizing her unique intuitive insight. The critically acclaimed series enters its third season with fresh cases, new characters, and unexpected challenges for Elsbeth and the 11th Precinct, led by her boss, Captain C.W. Wagner (Pierce).

Directed by Todd Biermann, episode 12 will air on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 8:30pm ET/PT.
“The List” Plot: Sam and Jay work to secure Woodstone B&B a coveted spot on a prestigious luxury hotel list, only to face unexpected chaos when a vengeful newly discovered bunker ghost disrupts a crucial visit. Meanwhile, Flower and Thor clash over who gets to call the shots in their relationship.
Season five stars Rose McIver as Sam, Utkarsh Ambudkar as Jay, Brandon Scott Jones as Isaac, and Richie Moriarty as Pete. Danielle Pinnock is Alberta, Asher Grodman is Trevor, Román Zaragoza stars as Sasappis, Rebecca Wisocky plays Hetty, Devan Chandler Long is Thorfinn, and Sheila Carrasco plays Flower.
Ghosts is a single-camera comedy about Samantha and Jay, a cheerful freelance journalist and chef from the city, respectively, who threw both caution and money to the wind when they decided to convert Woodstone Mansion, which Sam inherited, into a bed & breakfast—only to find it was inhabited by the many spirits of deceased residents who now call it home.
The departed souls are a close-knit, eclectic group that includes a saucy Prohibition-era lounge singer (Pinnock); a pompous 18th-century militiaman (Scott Jones); a ‘60s hippie fond of hallucinogens (Carrasco); an overly upbeat ‘80s scout troop leader (Moriarty); a cod-obsessed Viking explorer from 1009 (Chandler Long); a slick ‘90s finance bro (Grodman); a sarcastic and witty native from the 16th century (Zaragoza); and a society woman and wife of a 19th-century robber baron who is Sam’s ancestor (Wisocky), to name a few.
The opening of the B&B and Jay’s new restaurant are a source of intrigue, anxiety, and curiosity among the spirits, but they will gladly put up with the commotion as long as they can continue to interact with a living inhabitant.
Fox officially renewed the medical dramedy Best Medicine for a second season. The new series starring Josh Charles earned a renewal ahead of its ninth episode, airing on March 3, 2026 and featuring original Doc Martin star Martin Clunes.
“Best Medicine quickly became a breakout for us this season, blending sharp humor with real heart,” stated Michael Thorn, President of FOX Television Network. “Liz Tuccillo brings a distinctive creative voice to the series, and Josh Charles leads an exceptional cast that audiences have embraced. We, along with Propogate, are excited to build on that momentum in season two.”
Josh Charles stars as Dr. Martin Best, Abigail Spencer (Suits) is Louisa Gavin, Annie Potts (Young Sheldon) is Aunt Sarah, Josh Segarra (Sirens) plays Sheriff Mark Mylow, and Cree (Twinless) is Elaine Denton. Recurring season one guest stars include Didi Conn as councilwoman Geneva Potter, Clea Lewis as pharmacist Sally Mylow, Stephen Spinella as Greg Garrison, Jason Veasey as George Brady, Cindy De La Cruz as Jeannie, John DiMaggio as Bert Large, Carter Shimp as Al Large, and Wattson as Copernicus.
The series premiered in January 2026 and drew in 12.6 million viewers. Fox hasn’t announced a target premiere date for the 12-episode second season.
Liz Tuccillo serves as executive producer and showrunner. Additional executive producers include Ben Silverman, Rodney Ferrell, Howard T. Owens, Mark Crowdy, and Philippa Braithwaite.
Fox’s official synopsis:
“The series centers on Dr. Martin Best, a brilliant surgeon who abruptly leaves his illustrious career in Boston to become the general practitioner in a quaint East Coast fishing village where he spent summers as a child with his Aunt Sarah. There, he encounters an eclectic group of townspeople, including schoolteacher Louisa Gavin, Sheriff Mark Mylow, and his assistant Elaine Denton.
Martin’s blunt, no-nonsense bedside manner quickly alienates the quirky locals, even though he is the only doctor they have. While he can expertly diagnose any medical mystery, he struggles with a debilitating new phobia and childhood trauma that make intimacy difficult. In a town defined by tenacity and heart, the very people Martin pushes away may ultimately be exactly what he needs.”
Freya Skye and Malachi Barton in ‘Zombies 4’ (Disney/Matt Klitscher)
Disney Channel and Disney+ have greenlit a fifth film in the popular Zombies franchise. Zombies 5 will bring back Malachi Barton and Freya Skye as Victor and Nova, and original franchise stars Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly will be involved as executive producers.
Disney Channel hasn’t confirmed a target premiere date for Zombies 5. The film franchise premiered in February 2018, Zombies 2 was released in February 2020, and Zombies 3 debuted in July 2022. Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires premiered in July 2025. Zombies 5 is expected to begin production this spring.
“Zombies has become a defining franchise for the current generation,” stated Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television. “With each movie, we intentionally push the story somewhere new. Introducing mermaids in Zombies 5 opens up a completely different dynamic while staying true to the music, characters, and themes of unity and acceptance that are at the heart of these films.”
In addition to Barton and Skye, Trevor Tordjman returns as Bucky, Swayam Bhatia as Vera, Julian Lerner as Ray, and Mekonnen Knife as Vargas. Emily Costtrici is new to the franchise and is set to play zombie Izzy, Zed’s zombie cousin and new transfer student.
Disney Channel offers this synopsis of the new franchise entry: “Following the events of Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, the newfound peace between the Daywalkers and Vampires is put to the test when a band of fierce mermaids arrives in Rayburn, making waves and casting a persuasive siren song to lure in new allies. Nova and Victor must unite their groups once more to discover what the mermaids are really after in order to protect the fragile harmony they worked so hard to build.”
The mermaids will be played by Diaana Babnicova as cool-girl Pearl, Taylor Oliver as bad-boy Fin, and Olive Mortimer as tech-wiz Sandy.
Paul Hoen returns to direct and executive produce the fifth film. Additional executive producers include Manheim, Donnelly, Jane Fleming, Mark Ordesky, Joseph Raso, and David Light. Dondraico Johnson is on board as a choreographer, and Tom Howe is writing the original score. Chris Hazzard, Michael Fontana, and Eydie Faye are the writers.
CBS’s Tracker season three, episode 10—part two of the midseason finale—picks up with Colter (Justin Hartley) injured and struggling to get out of his truck after being shot at. The truck landed upside down over a cliff, and Colter manages to get Keaton (Brent Sexton) out of the overturned truck. Colter grabs some moss and places it on Keaton’s gunshot wound before taking off to find help.
(The following is a recap of season three, episode 10, and there are spoilers.)
Colter makes his way to parked cars, breaks into one, and grabs a cellphone. He calls 9-1-1 and to get help for Keaton.
Detective Willa Simms (Jes Macallan) reports to Police Commissioner Ross Bogart (Sasha Roiz), informing him Colter’s the one who called for help. She believes the murdered accountant at the lake house is connected to Menassian’s killing but doesn’t understand how it all ties into Colter. Apparently, the FBI is leaning toward Colter being a suspect since he was at Menassian’s murder scene as well as the lake house.
Randy (Chris Lee) shows Reenie (Fiona Rene) a video of Bogart’s press conference naming Emile Lang and Colter as persons of interest. They’re suspected of being armed and dangerous. Neither Reenie nor Randy can reach Colter, and they realize something’s wrong.
Colter passed out next to the car after calling 9-1-1, and when he comes to, he immediately calls Reenie. He believes Lang ambushed him and Keaton, and he’s shocked to learn he’s currently being sought as a murder suspect. Colter’s also surprised to hear the accountant and his housekeeper were killed. The housekeeper was alive when he left, so Lang must have killed her.
Colter asks Randy to send the cops the video of Dobbs killing Menassian, but unfortunately Randy can’t. The video’s been wiped. Colter’s definitely being set up. Before getting off the phone, he warns Reenie not to call his brother.
Minutes later, the FBI arrives at Reenie’s office with a warrant to search for anything pertaining to Colter’s employment. Reenie accepts it but warns them she’ll be observing everything they do.
Billie (Sofia Pernas) picks up Colter since they need to keep his whereabouts hush-hush. They hole up in an Airbnb, and she takes care of his injuries while Colter grunts and nearly passes out. Billie’s able to remove a bullet and promises they’ll figure out who’s setting him up.
Colter thinks Lang’s tracking Cassie Lindstrom, so she must be related to the dead office at a nearby nightclub. Billie does a quick search and learns Cassie is the dead officer’s wife. Colter thinks they should check out the town she moved to after his murder.
Before they can leave, the cops pull up, and Colter decides he needs to go alone. He’ll head to Cassie’s while Billie deals with the police. Billie quickly packs a to-go bag with a burner phone and cash.
Colter barely makes it out before the cops barge in.
Randy manages to wipe his drive before the FBI grabs his laptop. Unfortunately, that means he doesn’t have a way of tracking Colter.
Colter makes his way around Cassie’s place, and it looks like she left suddenly. There’s moldy food sitting out and her laptop is open. He spots a trail of blood in the kitchen and follows it outside. The blood trail stops in the driveway, and he spots a security camera next door. He calls the office next to Reenie’s—basically his way of warning her not to use her office phone to call him. Randy has a burner stashed and Colter gives him info on the surveillance. Since Randy hit his dead man’s switch, he’s going to have to rebuild his system.
Randy borrows a laptop from a friend to look into the security camera and calls Colter. Colter looks through Cassie’s computer and realizes she’s been gone for five days—before any of the murders took place. Randy finds a neighbor’s security camera from five days ago and sees two men take Cassie away in a van. This was before Lang killed the farmer, Menassian, or Dobbs, and may have actually been what set the murderer in motion.
Randy sends Colter details about the van’s owner, a local construction company. Colter doesn’t believe the kidnappers are working with Lang. The kidnappers are trying to frame Colter, and Lang’s not trying to kill Cassie. There’s another player they haven’t identified yet.
Billie picks up Colter after making sure she’s not being tailed. They head to the construction company and find the van in the parking lot, door open and blood on the driver’s seat. Drag marks indicate someone was pulled through the yard and into the office. Inside, Colter finds one of the men who took Cassie. It looks like he was tortured before he was killed.
The dead man is a cop named Dominic Mendoza. Colter calls Randy and Randy discovers Mendoza and Dobbs worked on the same vice task force. Their target was Zahn Menassian. Also, Cassie’s husband was on the same task force before he was killed in the line of duty. Other officers on the task force included Henry Easton, Neil Barton, and Willa Simms.
Simms was the detective who showed up to look for Colter at the Airbnb, and Billie reminds Colter she said Simms gave her weird vibes. Randy notes Simms transferred out of the task force seven years ago. The task force must have been getting kickbacks from Menassian, and now they’re framing Colter. Lang seems to be wiping them out one by one, but it doesn’t make sense that he’d come after Colter and Keaton. Also, why would the cops kidnap Cassie and have Lang start killing people off all these years later? Colter wonders if the task force cops were the ones shooting at him, not Lang.
Billie finds a matchbook from Fireside Bar, so that’s their next stop. Billie goes in without Colter since his facial injuries would make him stand out. She spots a framed newspaper article and sees Lang in the photo, working at the bar and grill. The manager informs her that Lang is a line cook there, using an alias. The article was published two weeks ago, and someone must have recognized him. The dirty cops came there looking for him, setting off the whole chain of killings.
Billie’s forced to lead the cops on a chase away from Colter after they’re spotted in Firestone’s parking lot. Unfortunately, she doesn’t make it far before getting boxed in by Simms and half a dozen other cars. Simms sends out an alert that Colter’s on the run in the area.
Billie questions Simms on their ride to the station, accusing her of being part of a task force that was on the take and being paid by Menassian. When Billie brings up Cassie’s abduction, it’s obvious that Simms doesn’t know what she’s talking about.
Colter locates an unlocked car, hotwires it, and drives off. He calls Randy and tells him Lang was going by the name Benny Sheridan, and Randy doesn’t find any properties under that name. However, he does find a trailer currently parked in an RV park.
Task force member Henry Easton arrives home and discovers Lang (Mark Engelhardt) beat him there and has tied up his wife. Lang asks where Cassie is and Henry claims not to know. Lang informs Mrs. Easton that her husband and his friends kidnapped Cassie to get to him. When Henry asks him to leave his wife out of this, Lang refuses. After all, Mrs. Easton must have known about the kickbacks, given the beautiful house they live in.
Lang admits he killed Officer Jack Lindstrom, believing he double-crossed the boss. He subsequently found out Easton and the others lied. Lindstrom was innocent.
Henry only agrees to talk after Lang threatens to cut off his wife’s finger.
Colter breaks into Lang’s trailer and finds photos of Lang and Cassie. They’re definitely a couple. Colter also finds a box of files from the lake house that includes ledgers handwritten by the accountant. He’s shocked to read one name in particular.
Simms meets Commissioner Bogart late at night in a secluded area. She informs him she learned from Billie that the task force he created was taking kickbacks from Menassian. Bogart pretends to be innocent, but Simms reminds him that he removed her from the task force when she began to ask questions. Bogart warns her to be careful and then pulls his gun, shooting her multiple times in the chest.
Bogart returns to the station and Colter sneaks up on him, ordering the dirty cop to take him to Cassie. They drive to a warehouse and Colter has Bogart uncuff Cassie. Another cop enters, and Bogart yells for him to shoot Colter, but Colter is too quick and takes him out.
Bogart holds Cassie by the neck and threatens to break it. However, Lang also made it to the warehouse and shoots Bogart in the head. Lang puts down his gun and apologizes to Cassie for lying to her; she thinks he’s a line cook named Benny—not an ex-cop.
Reenie gets Billie cleared of any involvement and she visits Colter in Keaton’s hospital room. Keaton’s still not out of the woods but Billie thinks he’ll live. Colter thanks Billie for all her help, admitting he couldn’t have done it without her. Episode 10 ends with Billie agreeing to grab a beer with Colter.
