New Django Unchained Trailer

The Weinstein Company has unleashed a new trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s Western, Django Unchained, arriving in theaters on Christmas Day (because there’s nothing quite like a Tarantino movie to get us in the holiday mood, correct?). The new trailer focuses on Jamie Foxx as Django, Christoph Waltz as a bounty hunter, and Leonardo DiCaprio as an evil – and powerful – plantation owner, but we also see a little Kerry Washington thrown in as well as Samuel L. Jackson and Jonah Hill.

Watch the trailer:

The Plot:

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, Django Unchained stars Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award®-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.

Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.

Django and Schultz’s search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (Academy Award®-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio), the proprietor of “Candyland,” an infamous plantation. Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Academy Award®-nominee Samuel L. Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave. Their moves are marked, and a treacherous organization closes in on them. If Django and Schultz are to escape with Broomhilda, they must choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival…

‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Season 5 Episode 3 Clip

Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode three of season five debuts on October 13, 2012 at 9:30am on Cartoon Network with the rebels picking a new leader. In support of the episode’s upcoming premiere, the network has revealed a new clip from season five’s third episode.

The Plot: Supervised by Ahsoka, the Onderon rebels infiltrate the capital and carry out a series of strikes on targets throughout the city. As the Separatist-aligned king comes under increasing pressure to deal with the growing rebellion, the rebels choose a new leader in “Front Runners,” airing this Saturday.

Episode Trivia:
· As is evident in this episode, the design of Iziz draws heavily from ancient Rome. King Sanjay Rash’s design heavily features Roman influences, included a headband that suggest gilded laurel leaves at his temples.
· The look of the Onderon rebels are very much inspired by the look of the commandos in Return of the Jedi.
· The droid watchtower seen in Iziz resembles a similar platform used by Rebel sentries on Yavin 4 in Star Wars, except these are elevated by repulsorlift technology as opposed to mounted on a physical stalk.

Retro Trailer for The Canyons with Lindsay Lohan

Porn star James Deen stars opposite Lindsay Lohan in The Canyons from writer Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho) and director Paul Schrader (Auto Focus). And yeah, it’s Lohan and a porn star in a completely retro trailer. I have nothing else to say about this.

The Plot:

It’s not The Hills… THE CANYONS is a contemporary L.A. noir from director Paul Schrader, writer Bret Easton Ellis, and producer Braxton Pope about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20’s and how one chance meeting connected to the past unravels all of their lives, resulting in deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence.

Natalie Merchant Supports Hole in the Wall Gang Camp with a Sing-A-Long

Hole in the Wall Gang Camp

In celebration and support of the 25th anniversary of Paul Newman’s The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Natalie Merchant and director McG have put together a new “Wonder” music video recorded at the camp in Ashford, Connecticut. Merchant participated in a special sing-a-long version of her 1996 hit “Wonder” and performed it along with campers this past summer.

McG shot the video which features campers singing and talking about what the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp means to them. The video also includes clips of founder/iconic actor Paul Newman.

Unveiling the video, CEO James H. Canton said, “Natalie Merchant has given us a great gift with this song. And McG’s music video is a beautiful snapshot of our mission: to give these kids so much love and acceptance that they leave Camp with a smile, knowing how beautiful and special they are. It is a powerful, moving and uplifting tribute as we begin our 25th anniversary and we can’t thank Natalie Merchant and McG enough for capturing Paul’s dream so beautifully.”

“Paul Newman was a visionary and I feel extremely honored that I was asked to be part of this celebration. The work the Camp does is phenomenal,” said Natalie Merchant. “For years, I’ve been told by parents of kids with special needs and medical staff and children themselves that ‘Wonder’ has become an anthem for sick kids. So I know the healing power of the song. I am delighted to add my voice to all the love, camaraderie and sharing that goes on at Camp. Paul really did it so well. The Camp is a magical place.”

About the Camp:

In 1988, Paul Newman opened The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut so that children coping with serious illnesses could have a special hideout where they could simply be kids. The Camp, which served 288 campers its first year, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2012-13 with 20,000 children and family members now experiencing “a different kind of healing” annually. Each year, 2,500 are served onsite and 19,000 visits by the Hospital Outreach Program bring the fun and friendship of Camp into more than 20 sites throughout the Northeast – all free of charge.

The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is celebrating this milestone with events and initiatives that will gather the Camp family together and invite new friends to support Paul Newman’s dream.
