One Direction Take Me HomeThe boy band One Direction continues to dominate the charts and has now set a US chart record. The UK group has taken over the top spot as the “highest selling first week single sales by a UK artist” with their release of “Live While We’re Young.” According to Columbia Records, the first single from the upcoming Take Me Home album debuted on the Billboard Digital Track and Song charts at #1, and its 341,000+ numbers earned it the biggest opening week sales by “a single by a non-US artist ever.”

“We’re so happy with the success of the single in the USA and can’t wait for everyone to hear our new album. Thank you to all the fans once again!”- Niall Horan of One Direction

One Direction will be promoting the upcoming release of Take Me Home with two days of performances of songs from the new album as well as Up All Night at NBC’s The Today show plaza on November 13 and 14. Take Me Home will be released on November 13, 2012.

Dance Moms Will Be Back

Dance Moms Cast Photo

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Lifetime wants more of Abby Lee Miller and the obnoxious group of rude moms showcased in Dance Moms (love Abby, not a huge fan of any of those ladies). The show has grown substantially from season one to season two, up 70% in adult viewers.

The addictive reality series follows a group of young female dancers who learn routines and then perform at different dance competitions during each hour-long episode. Meanwhile, the moms all bicker and fight and cause much more drama than any of their children.

Said Lifetime exec vp programming Rob Sharenow: “With major growth season-to-season and a bonafide star in Abby Lee Miller, Dance Moms continues to be a top performer and important franchise for Lifetime.”

According to THR, Lifetime has given Dance Moms a 26 episode third season order. They’re also keeping dance instructor/choreographer Abby Lee Miller busy with a new spin-off series, Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition which just premiered on October 9, 2012.

Details on Dance Moms:

Set in Pittsburgh’s renowned Abby Lee Dance Company, owned and operated by notoriously demanding and passionate instructor Abby Lee Miller, Dance Moms follows children’s early steps on the road to stardom and their doting mothers who are there for every rehearsal, performance and bow…all under the discerning eye of Miller. Presenting a powerful cast of characters sure to raise eyebrows, the series immerses itself in the highs and lows surrounding competition season to deliver an intriguing and dramatic look at the cast’s frantic pursuit of the ultimate National Dance title. Centered on the devoted Miller, who runs her school with an iron tap shoe as she instructs her young, talented students while also dealing with over-the-top mothers who go to great lengths to help their children’s dreams come true, Dance Moms will pose the tough questions many ask about what really goes on behind-the-scenes in the fast-growing and controversial sport of competitive dance.
