Because of last week’s tragic events in Colorado, Summit immediately removed television advertising that briefly showcased that scene from the film. The scene also briefly appeared in a trailer released three months ago that the studio is no longer actively servicing. Having taken these steps, Summit will open this inspirational, nonviolent film in theatres nationwide this weekend as originally edited” – from Summit via Deadline
The Plot:
Emily (Kathryn McCormick) arrives in Miami with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer and soon falls in love with Sean (Ryan Guzman), a young man who leads a dance crew in elaborate, cutting-edge flash mobs, called “The Mob.” When a wealthy business man threatens to develop The Mob’s historic neighborhood and displace thousands of people, Emily must band together with Sean and The Mob to turn their performance art into protest art, and risk losing their dreams to fight for a greater cause.
It’s light and fluffy, and pretty much an irresistible summer pop song. Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen (“Call Me Maybe”) deliver a good time with this “Good Time” music video, hanging out with friends and dancing around a fire.
Just released on July 24, 2012, the video’s had over 960,000 views in 24 hours.
Kristen Stewart (22) and her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders were caught by a photographer making out in a car, and the photos made the cover of the July 25th issue of US Weekly. Excuses were made and cries of “Photoshop” were heard across the online Twilight universe, but then People.com posted an apology from the Twilight star to her on screen hubby/off screen boyfriend.
I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry,” said Stewart in a statement issued to People.
Director Sanders is 41, married, and has two children. His wife, model Liberty Ross, played Stewart’s mom in Snow White and the Huntsman. Wow.
After Stewart issued her statement, Sanders issued one of his own to People:
I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family,” said Sanders. “My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”
Who knows what this means for Universal Pictures’ plans for a Snow White and the Huntsman sequel. Stewart’s fan base definitely will have decreased in size following this news, and Pattinson fans will likely avoid a sequel like the plague.
