Discovery Channel’s June 2024 lineup includes the premiere of the 20th season of Deadliest Catch on June 11th, along with a new season of Hoffman Family Gold on June 14th. The four-part documentary series Six Schizophrenic Brothers premieres on June 10th at 8pm ET/PT, and the Vegas-set series Sin City Tow arrives on June 18th.
Discovery released the following descriptions of June’s new and returning shows:
Six Schizophrenic Brothers – An all-American family is torn apart when six of 12 siblings develop schizophrenia. Don and Mimi Galvin dream of raising their picture-perfect family on Hidden Valley Road in Colorado Springs until their eldest son, Donald, begins to act strangely. What starts as a rivalry between his younger siblings develops into a series of bizarre rituals and extreme violence. But as more brothers follow in Donald’s footsteps, it becomes clear that something much larger is happening.
With unprecedented access and exclusive interviews with the Galvin family, the series explores this terrifying and heart-wrenching true story that made its way into medical history.
Deadliest Catch – To kick off this milestone 20th season, the lucrative Red King Crab fishery has finally reopened in Alaska, igniting the first derby-style race in decades. Forced to obtain their crab hauls in a highly competitive timeframe, veteran and rookie captains are thrust into cutthroat rivalries that will push each crabber to their limit.
Meanwhile, the crab grounds become more perilous than ever as a rare super El Niño weather pattern intensifies winter storms, serving as a grim reminder to why Alaska crab fishing is known as the Deadliest Catch.

Hoffman Family Gold – As three generations of Todd Hoffman’s family arrive in Alaska to mine the most promising claim they’ve ever held, tensions rise when Todd’s father, Jack, announces his final season. With winter fast approaching, the Hoffman crew must devise a plan to triple their output and mine 3000 ounces before the ground freezes over, putting their legacy and livelihood on the line.
Sin City Tow – 40 million people come to Las Vegas every year to gamble, party and go crazy. They forget all their inhibitions, often park their car where it’s not supposed to be. Sin City’s tow truck drivers come in to clean up the mess and rake in the money. Every tow is an opportunity for a payday but could also turn into a face-off with an angry, desperate owner who’s ready to do whatever it takes to get their car back.

Sofia Salinas (Rodriguez), the no-nonsense executive director of the Wells Foundation, continues to run things with compassionate efficiency, but her all-business ethos is thrown for a loop when she meets Molly’s charismatic architect friend Isaac (O-T Fagbenle). The bromance between Howard (Funches) and Nicholas also continues to flourish as they support each other in their endeavors both inside and outside the workplace.
Meanwhile, Arthur (Faxon) has moved past his feelings for Molly and has adopted a new devil-may-care attitude on life, a change encapsulated by a very lame leather bracelet. The Wells Foundation team, including Rhonda (Meagen Fay) and Ainsley (Stephanie Styles), must pull together as co-workers and friends as Molly strives to publicly live up to her promise of giving away all of her vast fortune.

‘Lioness’ season 2 begins shooting (Photo Courtesy of Paramount+)
Production has gotten underway on season two of Paramount+’s spy thriller Lioness starring Zoe Saldana. The streaming service confirmed filming of season two will be taking place in Texas.
Saldana reprises her role as Joe and is also involved again as an executive producer. Additional returning cast members include Laysla De Oliveira, Emmy nominee Michael Kelly, and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman. Oscar winner Morgan Freeman has been upped to a series regular for the new season.
“Lioness, inspired by an actual U.S. Military program, follows the life of Joe (Saldaña) while she attempts to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the CIA’s spear in the war on terror,” reads Paramount+’s synopsis.
Season two’s ensemble also includes Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier.
Taylor Sheridan created the series and serves as an executive producer along with Nicole Kidman, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox. Lioness is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.
The first season drew in nearly six million viewers in its first week and set a record as the most-watched worldwide series premiere on the streamer.
Sheridan’s collaboration with Paramount+ also includes Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, 1923, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and 1883. Production is currently underway on Sheridan’s Landman, starring Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, and Jon Hamm.
Garfield, the lasagna-loving, Monday-hating orange tabby, is back on the big screen with an all-new adventure in The Garfield Movie. In the latest Garfield film, Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt) shares the story of how he and Jon (voiced by Nicholas Hoult) first met.
”It was a dark and stormy night,” says the fat tabby, echoing Edward Bulwer-Lytton’s opening line of Paul Clifford, considered the worst opening line ever written. Cut to a flashback featuring Garfield as a little kitten in a tiny box, trying to stay dry and out of the rain while feeling sad and hungry. He gets a whiff of food from the Italian restaurant across the street and cautiously makes his way over. He stares at Jon, who is looking lonely while eating a big pizza. Jon spots the adorable little kitten through the window and quickly lets him in.
The two stare at each other and after Garfield licks Jon’s face, the tabby devours the pizza. The starving kitten then goes on an eating rampage, gobbling up all the food he can while Jon tries to grab him before the restaurant staff catches on.
Jon orders a family-size lasagna dinner and leaves with Garfield hidden in the to-go box. “And that’s how I adopted Jon,” says Garfield while his pal Odie the dog rolls his eyes and sighs.
Garfield’s living the good life with Jon and Odie, getting all the yummy food, sleeping whenever and wherever he feels like it, and just being one spoiled kitty cat. That is, until one night when he and Odie get cat/dognapped by two sketchy street dogs. The furry friends are taken to an abandoned building and left hanging from the rafters.
Garfield and Odie attempts to free themselves are futile. But just as they were losing hope, a figure in a dark cloak emerges from the shadows and comes to their rescue. “C’mon Jr, let’s go,” says the figure, who it turns out is Garfield’s long-lost father, Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson). Vic left him in that small box on that stormy night, and Garfield’s not happy to see him again. Garfield wants nothing to do with Vic, but when he and Odie try to leave, they’re stopped by those pesky dogs that kidnapped them. Oh, and a white cat named Jinx (voiced by Hannah Waddingham).
Our favorite tabby and his dog BFF find themselves caught up in a risky, high-stakes heist. If they ever want to get back to their pampered lives, they’re going to have to become temporary members of Jinx’s gang.
Zany, colorful, and full of slapstick humor, The Garfield Movie has more in common with Looney Tunes cartoons than with the classic Jim Davis comic strip. The heist thrusts the lazy orange tabby off the couch and into a situation similar to the Mission: Impossible films. And it’s not just a coincidence that Ving Rhames voices a character involved in planning the heist.
Chris Pratt does a solid job as the voice of Garfield, sounding at times just like Lorenzo Music, who voiced the fat cat in animated specials including Garfield’s Halloween Adventure and Garfield Goes Hollywood. However, fans of the Davis comic strip and the animated specials might find this Garfield lacking his laziness, cynicism, and smart-aleck ways.
Nicholas Hoult is pitch perfect as Jon, Garfield and Odie’s devoted and naïve owner. Unfortunately, Jon’s missing from most of the action once the heist storyline takes focus.
The film is visually impressive with the use of CGI animation creating a bright and vibrant look. All in all, The Garfield Movie is a fun, frantic, and comical adventure that has enough hijinks and action to keep the kids in the audience entertained and enough humor and cuteness for their parents.

Warner Bros Pictures’ official trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice begins with a warning from Winona Ryder that what you’re about to see is intense. Ryder’s character, Lydia Deetz, believed the trickster demon was gone forever…but he’s back now and ready to cause more chaos and wreak more havoc.
Oscar nominee Michael Keaton returns in the titular role, and Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek) reprises her role as Delia. Newcomers to Tim Burton’s weird Beetlejuice world include Jenna Ortega (Scream VI) as Astrid and Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) as Rory. The cast also includes Monica Bellucci (Spectre), Arthur Conti (House of the Dragon), and Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe (Poor Things).
“After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened,” reads Warner Bros Pictures’ synopsis. “With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.”

Things heated up (literally) on Max’s Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode three as poor Mouse (Malia Pyles) had a terrible birthday. She ended up at an abandoned Chuck E. Cheese-ish restaurant where she was forced to play hide and seek with Bloody Rose Waters. After escaping Rose and a fire, what on earth will episode four put the BFFs through?
Read on for what went down in episode four, “When a Stranger Calls Back.”
The BFFs gather at Pinball Pizza to talk about what happened. Mouse is convinced it really is Bloody Rose Waters. Faran (Zaria) seems to want Rose to bring it on, thinking she can kick her butt. The girls realize they are all “final girls,” and Imogen (Bailee Madison) suggests that no one should answer their phone. However, Faran still doesn’t want to back down because she is in the best shape of her life.
Imogen gives Dr. Sullivan (Annabeth Gish) a ring but gets her voicemail. Mouse questions her grandmother, Lola, about who called and told her to take her to that place. “She said her name was Rose and that she was calling from the other side,” replies Lola.
Sunday, June 8th
Mouse throws out the idea that maybe their summons worked, and that Rose is a ghost. Tabby (Chandler Kinney) is not ready to go down that avenue just yet. Imogen receives a call from Dr. Sullivan’s office and it appears Dr. Sullivan was in a minor accident. The girls don’t believe this could be a coincidence, so they decide to keep their heads down and mouths shut.
Elsewhere, Kelly (Mallory Bechtel) and Greg (Elias Kacavas) practice for the church play. Kelly tries to rewrite some scenes and Pastor Malachi isn’t happy and orders Kelly to come to confession the next day.
Dr. Sullivan informs Imogen that she thinks she was pushed down the stairs.
Tabby gets an unknown call at work and after getting angry with the caller, she learns it’s the chairwoman of the Pittsburgh International Festival of Terror. They would love it if she could submit another short. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have one ready. But fortunately, she has two days to come up with something. Christian (Noah Alexander Gerry) offers to help her get one shot to submit.
Imogen fills the girls in on what happened to Dr. Sullivan. Mouse confesses she thinks she is responsible for creating Bloody Rose. In the early days of Spooky Spaghetti, she posted information on what Archie’s mask looks like and people ran with it. The girls still aren’t convinced this is the real Rose Waters and think they need to track down the real Rose. Mouse thinks they can use Spooky Spaghetti to help with their search.
Tabby shares the news about the festival and enlists everyone’s help to make her new short. The problem is, she has no clue what it is going to be about.
After a brief glimpse of Tabby and Chip with a box full of ideas, Tabby tells Christian she may have an idea: a psychotic projectionist who killed someone in a movie theater 20 years ago. Christian is all in and convinces Tabby to play the lead.
Imogen visits Dr. Sullivan again and while doing a crossword puzzle, she experiences a flashback of being in the hospital with a broken arm and doing a crossword puzzle with her mom.
The girls and their beaus show up at the theater to help Tabby film her short. They have a blast doing it and totally get into the horror film spirit.
Mouse explains exactly what she’s doing to Ash (Jordan Gonzalez) while publishing a post on Spooky Spaghetti seeking Rose Waters.
Noa (Maia Reficco) is at work when the phone rings. Her boss answers and no one responds. He believes it to be another prank call, and Noa freaks out. Jen (Ava Capri) thinks they should do something fun and suggests they head to her dad’s house to go swimming.

Henry (Ben Cook) shows up at the pool with apology flowers for Faran. He feels awful about being upset with her when she didn’t tell him she got the all-clear to dance again.
Noa and Jen have a fun time getting drunk, playing pool, and trying on clothes from a huge closet. Noa asks how her dad got rich, and Jen claims her dad left her mom high and dry. A horrible suggestion’s made that they should take one of the Rolexes he owns and sell it.
Kelly shows up at church for her confession but instead finds her mom and Pastor Malachi sneaking into confession together. Her revenge? Going skinny dipping with Greg.
As Tabby is editing her short, she has a flashback of her and Chip.
Imogen gets a call from her baby’s adopted father asking her to watch baby Estelle. Sadly, his husband’s father passed away and they could use her help. She’s more than happy to watch Estelle, but of course, it doesn’t go smoothly. While she’s babysitting, Mr. Winters calls and says they received an alert on their security system that one of their windows was opened. Now on high alert, Imogen calls Johnny to come hang out with her. She grabs a knife, ready to defend herself against who knows what or who.
Armed with a knife, Imogen sets out to search the house. First up is Estelle’s room where she discovers the bedroom window is open. She heads downstairs, now with tears streaming down her face and holding her baby and a knife. Johnny (Antonio Cipriano) shows up and wonders if she’s in a full-on spiral.

Johnny asks if she’s okay and Imogen admits it’s been a crazy couple of days. After she spills the beans on what has been going on, Johnny slips and says something about “most girls he dates,” which Imogen picks up on. Imogen’s having a moment when Mr. Winters calls saying he saw Johnny on the Ring camera.
Faran told Henry she’d teach him to swim after hours, but actually just wanted some alone time for making out. Unfortunately, those plans are put on hold when Kelly and Greg show up at the pool.
Kelly thinks it’s great Henry and Faran are good again. Apparently, Henry has been sharing their problems in a group session. Faran had no idea and becomes upset that other people know their business.
Mouse is excited when her post gets lots of comments about Rose Waters sightings. Ash points out that the list of places is long.
After coming home from her late-night swim, Kelly’s mom channels her inner Margaret White from the horror movie Carrie and calls her a sinner. Kelly begs her mom, “Mama, please! Mama, no!”
Wednesday, June 11th
Kelly wakes up in a room full of crosses and a family photo with her dad’s face scratched out with an X. Her mom is there smiling at her, offering food, and telling her she must stay strong.
When Imogen leaves the next day, she discovers Johnny spent all night in his car making sure she was safe. They share a kiss. Elsewhere, Tabby comes clean to Christian that she had previously bounced this idea for her short off of Chip. Christian doesn’t think she should let Chip (even in death) take this away from her. Tabby rewards him with a kiss.
Noa receives a collect call from Jen who, it turns out, is in jail and needs $2,000 for bail. Noa’s boyfriend, Shawn, thinks they should bail her out.
A quick roundup of a few events: Jen is throwing herself a pity party and Noa goes in for a kiss. Mouse and Ash set out on an adventure to locate Rose. Faran gets a call, and the voice on the other end is the same as the person who called Mouse. The caller taunts Faran and asks if she’s strong enough now. “Or are you the same weak, little broken, scarred Faran?” asks the caller.
Faran heads to an abandoned construction site as instructed. There’s a mannequin with a note that reads, “A final girl can never lose her strength. Lift the girder. If it touches the ground before time runs out, someone you love dies.”
Mouse calls Imogen with news on where Rose Waters might be. Imogen tells her not to do anything yet. She will round up the girls and meet her there.
A split screen shows the girls at a homeless camp and Faran desperately trying to hold on to the girder.
The girls locate Rose and inform her that Archie is alive. In a shocking move, Rose runs past the girls and jumps off a bridge. The girls look for proof that she is Rose Waters and find not just a picture of Angela Waters but her file from the mental institution. It turns out her doctor at Radley Sanitarium was none other than Dr. Sullivan!
Episode four wraps up by upping the creepy factor. An exhausted Faran outlasts the timer, but Bloody Rose is there and they begin to fight. Faran’s arm is slashed but she barely manages to escape Rose.
