‘War Horse’ – Tom Hiddleston Interview Video

In this interview video courtesy of DreamWorks Pictures, Tom Hiddleston talks about how his character fits into War Horse, working with the horses, the essence of the film and Michael Morpurgo’s story, and being directed by Steven Spielberg.

Official Synopsis: DreamWorks Pictures’ War Horse, director Steven Spielberg’s epic adventure, is a tale of loyalty, hope, and tenacity set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War. War Horse begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him.

When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets—British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter—before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man’s Land.

The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse—an odyssey of joy and sorrow, passionate friendship and high adventure. War Horse is one of the great stories of friendship and war— a successful book, it was turned into a hugely successful international theatrical hit that is arriving on Broadway next year. It now comes to screen in an epic adaptation by one of the great directors in film history.

War Horse will open in theaters on December 25, 2011.

‘Prometheus’ Trailer is Finally Officially Here

Following a leaked trailer, which pissed off 20th Century Fox executives, and days of having the real Prometheus trailer’s release hyped up by the studio, the real deal is now here. Ridley Scott returns to the sci-fi genre with this action-filled film which Fox keeps claiming has nothing to do with Alien. But now that the trailer is here for all of us to dissect, it’s impossible for the studio to continue denying the connection.

Prometheus stars Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, and Idris Elba. The sci-fi film will arrive in theaters on June 8, 2012.

‘Shameless’ Cast Christmas Carol Video

If you watch Shameless, then you’ll appreciate this holiday music video featuring the cast in their favorite bar singing a totally non-politically correct Christmas Carol. If you don’t watch Shameless, then the video will likely be more offensive than funny. So you’ve been warned – this Shameless Christmas Carol is really just for fans of the Showtime series.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close director Stephen Daldry has been named the Director of the Year by the 23rd annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF). The three-time Oscar nominated filmmaker will receive his award at the January 7, 2012 awards gala hosted by Mary Hart. Daldry joins a list of 2012 honorees that includes previously announced winners George Clooney, Glenn Close, Michel Hazanavicius, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, Octavia Spencer, Michelle Williams, and the film Young Adult.

“Stephen Daldry has garnered international acclaim as a director, bringing his consummate skill to both the cinema and stage,” stated Festival Chairman Harold Matzner. “In his latest work, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, he directs a virtuoso cast in the story of a young boy who, after losing his father on 9/11, goes on a quest to learn what an unusual key found in his father’s possessions may unlock. This journey then becomes a metaphor for the need of a child to maintain a close bond with a loved one who died tragically and too soon. For this haunting film and for all of his achievements as a ‘director’s director,’ the Palm Springs International Film Festival is honored to present the 2012 ‘Director of the Year Award’ to Stephen Daldry.”
