‘Footloose’ – ‘Fake I.D.’ Music Video

The 2011 version of Footloose is dancing its way into theaters on October 14, 2011, with Kenny Wormald substituting for Kevin Bacon and Julianne Hough in place of Lori Singer. This new Footloose follows the same basic premise as the original film – a town has banned dancing following the death of some of its teens – and even includes some of the same songs from the 1984 high school musical drama (most notably, the return of the title track sung originally by Kenny Loggins and handled this time around by Blake Shelton).

One of the new songs featured in the 2011 Footloose is “Fake I.D.” from Big & Rich and featuring Gretchen Wilson. Check out this new video from Paramount Pictures showing Wormald and Hough – two talented dancers – showing off their moves.

Official Synopsis: Ren MacCormack (Kenny Wormald) is transplanted from Boston to the small southern town of Bomont where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock. A few years prior, the community was rocked by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out and Bomont’s local councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) responded by implementing ordinances that prohibit loud music and dancing.

Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the ban, revitalizing the town and falling in love with the minister’s troubled daughter Ariel (Julianne Hough) in the process.

‘Pan Am’ Episode 2 Preview Clip

Right now, Pan Am is one of my favorite new shows of the fall 2011 TV season. The reason I qualify my opinion with the inclusion of ‘right now’ is because I haven’t caught up on all the new shows I’ve TiVoed. There are just too many interesting choices – that will likely not pan out – this season.

While the Pan Am commercials leading up to its debut didn’t really sell me on the concept, the show is surprisingly entertaining with a great cast and a premise that has more to it than just a bunch of pretty ladies flying off to exotic locations.

Episode 2, “We’ll Always Have Paris” airing on October 2, 2011 storyline:
On a trip to Paris, Kate and Laura have a surprise passenger – their mom (guest star Kate Jennings Grant) — who has come to settle some unfinished business with Laura; Maggie faces the unwanted attentions of an aggressive passenger, and Dean and Colette share a momentary flirtation as he tries to track down some leads on Bridget (Annabelle Wallis).

Universal Pictures has just released the first trailer for the thriller Contraband starring Mark Wahlberg, Kate Beckinsale, Giovanni Ribisi, and Ben Foster, and directed by Baltasar Kormákur. Set for release on January 13, 2012, Contraband finds Wahlberg playing a man trying to leave a life of crime behind and take care of his family.

The Plot: Set in New Orleans, the film explores the cutthroat underground world of international smuggling—full of desperate criminals and corrupt officials, high-stakes and big payoffs—where loyalty rarely exists and death is one wrong turn away.

Chris Farraday (Mark Wahlberg) long ago abandoned his life of crime, but after his brother-in-law, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones), botches a drug deal for his ruthless boss, Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi), Chris is forced back into doing what he does best—running contraband—to settle Andy’s debt. Chris is a legendary smuggler and quickly assembles a crew with the help of his best friend, Sebastian (Ben Foster), to head to Panama and return with millions in counterfeit bills. Things quickly fall apart and with only hours to reach the cash, Chris must use his rusty skills to successfully navigate a treacherous criminal network of brutal drug lords, cops and hit men before his wife, Kate (Kate Beckinsale), and sons become their target.

‘Courageous’ Proves Popular at the Box Office

Courageous may not have had the same pre-release hype as the weekend’s big releases – 50/50, What’s Your Number, or even Dream House [which actually had only a trailer and one TV spot going for it] – but it’s proving to be the one to beat at the box office among the September 30-October 2, 2011 new releases. Over $2 million in tickets had been sold for the PG-13 film leading up to its Sept. 30th release in 1,161 locations and, surprisingly, as of Friday afternoon, Courageous was outpacing the other new entries in the box office derby.

Courageous looks to be on track to bring in $10 million-ish, $3 – 4 million more than originally anticipated.

Commenting on Courageous‘ advance ticket sales, Sherwood Pictures Executive Producer Michael Catt stated, “Such great advance momentum reaffirms that the topic of fathers is universal and that Courageous touches a nerve. Present or absent, fathers shape lives and we’re excited to use drama, adventure, humor . . . to inspire men to the high adventure of full-on parenting.”

The Plot: Courageous the story of four police officers with one calling: to serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, the men are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood. With God’s help, they struggle to be able to find a way to serve and protect those that are most dear to them.
