Five-time Emmy winner Jane Lynch returns to host the new season of NBC’s Weakest Link. The game show will kick off season four on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT.
Season four premieres with a Days of our Lives special, with the cast going head-to-head to raise money for charity. Lindsay Arnold, Bryan Dattilo, Galen Gering, Tina Huang, Victoria Konefal, Martha Madison, Eric Martsolf, and Zach Tinker will put their skills to the test while representing the popular long-running daytime soap.
Stuart Krasnow serves as executive producer and guides the series as showrunner. Host Jane Lynch, Aaron Solomon, and BBC Studios’ Ryan O’Dowd also executive produce. Weakest Link is produced by BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions in association with Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group.

“In each episode, eight contestants enter the studio as total strangers but must work together to bank the maximum amount of prize money available in each round. The contestants take turns answering general knowledge questions to build chains of correct answers. Consecutive correct answers greatly increase the value of the chain while incorrect answers break the chain and force the contestants to start over from the bottom of the money ladder,” reads NBC’s synopsis. “The top prize increases with each round but contestants must first vote to eliminate the fellow competitor they consider to be the ‘Weakest Link’ in the chain. The contestant who receives the highest number of votes leaves the game as the host declares the iconic phrase, ‘You are the Weakest Link. Goodbye.'”

Production is currently underway in Toronto on Paramount+ ‘s Star Trek: Section 31. Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once) stars in the original movie, reprising her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou from Star Trek: Discovery.
Omari Hardwick (Power), Kacey Rohl (Hannibal), Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso), Sven Ruygrok (One Piece), Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia), and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry) have joined the cast as filming begins in Toronto.
“And we’re off to the races! Thrilled to report principal photography has started on Star Trek: Section 31,” said executive producer Alex Kurtzman. “We welcome our incredible cast of new characters as they join our beloved Michelle Yeoh on her next wild adventure across the Trek universe.”
Section 31 will find Emperor Philippa Georgiou joining a secret division of Starfleet. Per Paramount+: “Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she also must face the sins of her past.”
“For years, we’ve been looking forward to Michelle Yeoh one day returning to Star Trek,” said David Stapf, president of CBS Studios, when the project was announced in April 2023. “Her powerful performance as Captain and Emperor Georgiou was a pivotal moment for the return of the franchise, and her portrayal resonated with fans around the world in a multitude of ways. Olatunde Osunsanmi directs from a screenplay by Craig Sweeny. Sweeny, Osunsanmi, Kurtzman, Aaron Baiers, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, and Michelle Yeoh are executive producing.
Star Trek: Section 31 is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.
A&E Networks has acquired a 50% stake in Rachael Ray’s new production company, Free Food Studios. The new partnership will result in Free Food Studios developing and producing 278 episodes of new programming.
“Today, I just finished writing over 80 pages of recipes and production notes for my groundbreaking new partnership with A+E Networks. I am so excited for this new chapter of my life to open,” stated Rachael Ray. “Viewers can expect to see me cooking in both of my homes, in upstate New York and Tuscany, Italy and creating new shows that will feature an amazing group of diverse and unique culinary talents. We have been working on this partnership for some time and this is just the beginning, so stay tuned.”
The first series announced include the 30-episode half-hour Rachael Ray’s Meals in Minutes and Rachael Ray’s Tuscany.

According to A&E Networks’ announcement, Free Food Studios will focus on developing and creating long and short-form content across various platforms. The full-service production company was formed by Ray, Brian Flanagan, Anthony Amoia, and Sean Lee of Intentional Content.
“When Sean, Anthony, and I started Free Food with Rachael, library ownership and scale were crucial to our collective mission statement,” said Flanagan. “During that same period of time, A+E Networks were great partners in helping us launch Rachael in the home space with Italian Dream Home and Rachael Ray’s Rebuild, so when it came time to scale and distribute our expanding food content library, partnering with A+E made complete sense.”
Henry Cavill reunites with his The Man From U.N.C.L.E. director Guy Ritchie for Lionsgate’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, an action comedy inspired by real events. The two-minute trailer finds Henry Cavill’s character being asked to lead the first special forces mission in history to neutralize German U-boats.
In addition to Cavil (The Witcher), the ensemble includes Eiza González (Baby Driver), Alan Ritchson (Reacher), Alex Pettyfer (In Time), Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After), Babs Olusamokun (Dune), Henrique Zaga (Beyond the Universe), Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds), Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride).

“Based upon recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is an action-comedy that tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including author Ian Fleming,” reads Lionsgate’s synopsis. “The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.”
Guy Ritchie directs and co-wrote the screenplay with Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, and Arash Amel. Based on the book The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops by Damien Lewis, the action-comedy/drama is produced by Ritchie, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Ivan Atkinson, and John Friedberg.
Lionsgate’s trailer premiere was accompanied by new photos from the film. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare opens in theaters on April 19, 2024.

Nico Parker (The Last of Us) delivers an impressive performance as a teenager struggling with more than her fair share of family trauma in writer/director Laura Chinn’s Suncoast. The R-rated drama is a deeply personal coming-of-age story based on Chinn’s own experiences growing up with a single mother and an older brother who passed away from cancer.
There’s a pivotal scene early on in Suncoast with Doris (Parker) ticking off a list of family members who are either dead or dying. She’s not angry or frustrated, just matter-of-fact about her family history. Wise beyond her 17 years, Doris has accepted that these circumstances are beyond her control.
That’s Doris. She doesn’t rage; she accepts her situation. She’ll be her brother’s caretaker and second fiddle in her mom’s eyes until he passes away.
However, that dynamic shifts when Doris’ mother, Kristine (three-time Oscar nominee Laura Linney), makes the decision to move her dying son into hospice. Doris drops from second fiddle to barely an afterthought as Kristine dedicates herself to spending every possible moment with Max, leaving her introverted (and friendless) daughter to basically fend for herself.
Unfortunately, the timing of the move sucks. The film’s set in 2005, the same year that Terri Schiavo’s husband won his “Right to Die” legal case and was allowed to have his wife’s feeding tube removed. (She was in a persistent vegetative state for 15 years.) Kristine’s decision to move Max coincides with the controversial ruling in Schiavo’s case. As a result, Terri and Max will both spend their final days in the Suncoast care facility. Instead of the peace and quiet Kristine was hoping for, the facility is surrounded by very vocal protestors.
Kristine was barely holding on before the move, and once Max is set up in a private room she becomes laser-focused on making sure she’s by his side when he passes.
Freed of her restraints, Doris emerges from social exile at the back of the class and volunteers her house for partying. One taste of normal high school life, and she wants much, much more. Her new rebellious teen attitude sets her on a collision course with her strict – and almost comically intense – mom.
Three-time Oscar nominee Woody Harrelson plays the role of a protestor who develops a weird, although platonic, almost fatherly relationship with Doris. The film touches on the ethical questions surrounding euthanasia, with Harrelson’s character representing the anti-euthanasia argument. However, writer/director Chinn chooses to keep this issue as a minor aspect of the movie, instead focusing on the prickly relationship between Doris and her mother.
Suncoast, which premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, is a compelling, emotionally charged coming-of-age drama. Nico Parker is terrific in the lead role, portraying a character who deals with difficult challenges from the filmmaker’s personal history. Despite the deeply personal nature of the story, its themes of grief and acceptance are relatable to anyone, thanks in large part to Parker’s performance.
The ending is foreshadowed from the opening scene of Doris pushing her brother in a wheelchair back home from the pharmacy. Death is inevitable. It’s the journey Doris goes through and the life lessons she learns along the way that make Suncoast something special.

Discovery Channel‘s adding Mud Wild, America’s Backyard Gold, Caught! Wild and Weird America, and Eye of the Storm to its lineup during the first half of 2024. Big Little Brawlers and Hustlers Gamblers Crooks debuted earlier this month, and Vegas Tow and a still-untitled series about survivalists in South America round out the new shows premiering soon.

CAUGHT! WILD & WEIRD AMERICA: This humorous clip show that showcases all the fun, wild, and stupid things that people do often in their own neighborhood.
EYE OF THE STORM: Everyone carries a smartphone camera, and most are quick to use it. So, what happens when thousands of cameras capture every imaginable angle of a life-changing natural disaster? This series tells the second-by-second story, crowdsourced from hundreds of eyewitnesses who found themselves caught in the right place at the wrong time, and brazenly held up their cameras to capture the eye of the storm.
HUSTLERS GAMBLERS CROOKS: This series features the experiences of high-stakes hustlers, gamblers, and crooks as told by the people who lived them. Structured like a Hollywood thriller, HUSTLERS GAMBLERS CROOKS is packed with gut-wrenching moments of people who risk it all.
MUD WILD: An authentically engaging series about the off-road subculture of extreme Big-Tire UTV Mud Racing and the passionate characters that drive the sport. Highlighting bold, custom vehicle builds and challenging mud courses, the series dives into the complex social dynamics, deep-rooted rivalries, and wild social party scene of mud racing. A loud, talented group of racers are disrupting the hierarchy, challenging the status quo and bringing viewers on one hell of a wild ride.
UNTITLED EXPEDITION SHOW: The stranger-than-fiction story about a group of ill-prepared survivalists who attempted a nearly impossible journey across South America.
VEGAS TOW: If you roll the dice and park your car illegally in Sin City, odds are you’re going to lose that bet – and maybe lose your mind – when your vehicle gets towed. In Vegas Tow, viewers will ride shotgun as tow truck drivers patrol Vegas’ streets and parking lots 24/7/365 and deal with the wrath of Vegas’ craziest characters.
Season two of Password will join NBC’s primetime lineup on March 12, 2024. New episodes of the game show will air on Tuesdays at 10pm ET/PT.
Keke Palmer (Nope, Star) is returning as host, with Jimmy Fallon back as a celebrity contestant and executive producer. Palmer recently made Emmy Awards history by becoming the first Black woman to win in the Outstanding Host for a Game Show category.
The network says viewers can expect to see more special celebrity guests trying out their Password skills on season two. Celebrities popping in include Chance the Rapper, Laverne Cox, Nikki & Brie Garcia, Lauren Graham, Wiz Khalifa, Jimmy Kimmel, Johnny Knoxville, Liza Koshy, Howie Mandel, Joe Manganiello, Joel McHale, Meghan Trainor, Lindsey Vonn, and Roy Wood Jr.

NBC released this description of season two, which will include new twists and tiebreakers:
“The hour-long episodes will include two back-to-back games with recurring player Fallon paired with a contestant competing against a celebrity guest/contestant duo for cash prizes by guessing a secret password using only one-word clues.
Season two of Password will continue to draw upon gameplay elements from past versions of the hit format but will also include new series additions. New this season, ‘Shoot the Moon!’ can be played when a contestant first sees the password and is confident that they can get their teammate to guess it with just one clue; that player can then tell Palmer they want to ‘Shoot the Moon!.’ If they correctly guess the password with one clue, they’ll get eight points instead of the usual six. But, if they get it wrong, their opponent will get a chance to steal.
New for tiebreakers, Palmer will take creative license to deliver clues in her own voice with the opportunity to ‘perform’ the words until one contestant buzzes in with an answer instead of the show presenting clues. In addition, the second round of games in each episode now includes a special category or theme that relates to all the passwords in that round.
Also new, ‘Password Prize of the Night’ randomly selects a moment during the game where a special sound will play to signify that the next password is also worth a fabulous prize.”

The cast of The Morning Show will help kick off the 41st Annual Paleyfest set to run April 12 through April 20, 2024. The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood hosts the television festival which will once again feature special screenings and new TV footage.

The 66th Annual Grammy Awards is expanding its broadcast to include Las Vegas’ one-of-a-kind venue, Sphere. 22-time Grammy winners U2 will take the stage at Sphere for the first live Grammy Awards broadcast performance.
Sphere will also host a special awards presentation airing during the broadcast.
Joni Mitchell will be making history of her own during the 2024 Grammy Awards. The nine-time Grammy winner and Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award winner is confirmed to make her Grammy Awards performance debut. Mitchell’s Joni Mitchell at Newport (Live) is nominated in the Best Folk Album category this year.
Joni Mitchell and U2 join previously announced performers Billy Joel, Burna Boy, Luke Combs, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, and Travis Scott.
Trevor Noah will return as host for the fourth consecutive year. The awards show will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 and air live from Los Angeles on CBS at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
