Live during the 2013 Oscars, Adele’s gorgeous voice was drowned out by the band at the beginning of the song. She’s powerful, however her “Skyfall” performance suffered a bit from the overpowering band. But she still nailed it and looked absolutely beautiful doing it.

Later in the show, Adele won her first Academy Award for the James Bond theme song. She teared up quickly and couldn’t make it far through her acceptance speech which, on a night in which most winners didn’t get overly emotional, was a welcome sight.
