Shock…surprise…didn’t see this one coming… If any of those describe your reaction to Anne Hathaway’s win in the Best Supporting Actress category, then you hadn’t been paying attention to any awards shows prior to the Oscars. Hathaway took home the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables, and accepting the award on stage during Hollywood’s biggest night, she said it was a dream come true. She also thanked her co-stars, her fellow nominees, and the Academy.

The Plot: Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells the story of ex-prisoner Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman), hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Russell Crowe), after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
