Emmy Awards Nominees 2022: ‘Succession’ Snags 25 Nominations

HBO’s Succession tops the list of the 74th Emmy Awards nominees, scoring 25 nominations including in the Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor (Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong), and Lead Supporting Actor (Matthew Macfadyen, Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin) categories. Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso and HBO’s The White Lotus tied for second with 20 nominations each.

HBO Max’s Hacks and Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, which just received a third season order, earned 17 nominations. HBO’s Euphoria picked up 16 nominations, with series star Zendaya earning multiple nominations in the Lead Actress in a Comedy and Outstanding Original Music And Lyrics categories.

“Television continues to keep the world entertained, informed, and connected. With production at a historic high, the Academy has received a record number of Emmy submissions this season,” stated Scherma. “As we prepare for the entertainment industry’s biggest night, we are thrilled to honor the innovators, creators, performers and storytellers who are propelling this platinum age of television.”

The 74th Emmy Awards will be held at the Microsoft Theater and will be broadcast live on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 8pm ET/5pm PT on NBC and Peacock.
