NBC has officially renewed their Chicago and Law & Order franchises for the upcoming 2023-2024 primetime season. The Dick Wolf-produced dramas have been ratings winners for the network, with the three Chicago shows – Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, and Chicago Med – earning spots on the top 10 list for total viewers.

Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Law & Order: Organized Crime have pulled in nearly 50 million viewers via NBC and Peacock, according to the network.

“I’m pleased to continue my four-decade relationship with Universal Television and NBC,” stated executive producer Dick Wolf. “All six shows being picked up again is the ultimate accolade to our incredible casts, producers, and writers. I’d also like to thank our loyal fans who have kept our NBC shows on the air for what will be a cumulative 84 seasons.”

Chicago Fire will return for season 12, Chicago P.D. was renewed for season 11, and Chicago Med earned a ninth season. The granddaddy of them all – Law & Order – picked up a 23rd season order. Law & Order: SVU was renewed for season 25 and Law and Order: Organized Crime is sticking around for season four.

“We understand the emotional connection our audience has with these characters and we can’t wait to bring more of their stories to the forefront next season,” said Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Programming, NBCUniversal and Streaming. “A huge thank you to Dick and his amazing team who are the masters of producing incredibly compelling television week after week.”
