After a creepy – and scary – “who done it” first Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin season, the PLL gang returns for season two of the Max series with Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. The new season kicked off on May 9, 2024 with an episode that opens with multiple murders and A on trial.

And now, let’s take a look at what happened on “Spookysphaghetti.com.”

Christmas Morning

Imogen (Bailee Madison) and Tabby (Chandler Kinney) are exchanging gifts when a hysterical Kelly (Mallory Bechtel) calls Imogen to inform her that her dad and Chip are dead. A (Archie Waters’ nickname) stabbed them after escaping from the mental hospital.

As the girls and their families gather, they question the police about what they should be doing. The gang has their own powwow on what they think A is up to. They conclude A’s killing off his loose ends. As they all come up with who they think A will go after, we see Faran’s (Zaria) dance teacher being murdered. We’re also treated to a look at Mouse’s (Malia Pyles) weird friend Steve’s getting his throat slashed, and Noa’s mom’s old boyfriend’s dead body.

New Year’s Eve

Imogen and Tabby think A will visit Angela Water’s grave on the anniversary of her death. They’re correct, and the cops catch him. The girls receive word that A is in custody.

Six Months Later – The Last Week of School

The girls take part in a group therapy session. Dr. Sullivan (Annabeth Gish) asks what they are afraid of, and of course it’s that Archie will get off because he’s insane. The jury hasn’t returned a verdict yet.

The BFFs go out to eat and can’t help but wonder why the verdict on A’s trial is taking so long. Tabby receives an email that her short horror film starring Imogen did not get into a film festival, and Mouse suggests she post it online. She even volunteers to link to it from a site called Spooky Spaghetti. Imogen believes the film deserves to be seen since it exposes what Chip did to them. Tabby agrees and posts it while they’re still at lunch.

Mouse and Ash (Jordan Gonzalez) check out the Spooky Spaghetti site, while Noa (Maia Reficco) gets hot and heavy with her boyfriend, Shawn, after sneaking into his room. Meanwhile, Imogen has a nightmare of A holding her baby.

Tuesday

Imogen gets caught delivering gifts to a gay couple who’ve adopted her baby. She does this a lot, and they ask her to stop coming around.

Elsewhere, Faran has gotten the all-clear to dance again, but for some reason she isn’t telling Henry that she has.

Mouse has become obsessed with scrolling through Spooky Spaghetti and brings the girls in to show them that someone posted all their pictures and names. (Their names have never been public before because they are minors.) They also posted photos of Bloody Rose Waters, the mentally unstable mother of Angela and A. She’s pictured lurking in areas each girl has a connection to. Tabby suspects that someone photoshopped them. Noa wonders why she’s called Bloody Rose Waters and Mouse explains that legend has it he skinned his mother for keeping him locked in a cage for all those years.

Mouse says there’s also a legend going around that if you look into a mirror that Angela once looked into at 12:01am and say Bloody Rose Waters five times, she will appear. Of course Imogen wants to give it a go.

Tabby and her co-worker Wes are talking about her film when Chip’s (the rapist from season one) mother shows up calling her movie disgusting. She tries to shame Tabby, claiming she’s trying to destroy Chip in death. She accuses Tabby of lying about Chip raping her and Imogen, and threatens to sue her if she doesn’t take the film down within twenty-four hours.

Imogen and Tabby’s mom visit Imogen’s mom’s grave. Tabby’s mom reveals she thinks she found a long-term renter for the house that once belonged to Imogen and her mother. However, she came across something troubling. She discovered the supplies that Imogen has been hiding and then leaving for her baby she gave up for adoption months ago. She’s worried and made an appointment for Imogen to see Dr. Sullivan alone.

Tabby is watching her film when she reads comments calling her and Imogen liars. Instead of taking the film down, she makes it private.

Later, the girls return to school at night and attempt to summon Bloody Rose Waters. (Because that sounds like a good idea, right? Sarcasm.)

Wednesday

Dr. Sullivan asks Imogen if she is taking her medication, and Imogen admits she’s not. She needs to be ready when Archie comes back for her. Imogen confesses to being worried Archie will come after her baby, too. Dr. Sullivan thinks there’s more to it than that. Ezra and Aria (from the original Pretty Little Liars) were going to adopt her baby and Dr. Sullivan thinks she changed her mind because they lived too far away.

Imogen doesn’t know what Archie is capable of. The doctor suggests that if she’s so afraid of A, then she should stop going to the baby’s house.

Imogen leaves one last gift with a note saying it’s from her grandmother.

Ash catches Mouse on the Spooky Spaghetti site and is concerned she’s on the site too much. He wants to do something fun, like a date, instead.

Wes shows Tabby an essay Chip’s mom wrote in the newspaper about her grief. Wes thinks Tabby should show her some compassion.

Faran and her mom run into Kelly’s mom and find out Kelly is at a Catholic church. Kelly is now remote learning, and she’s found comfort in going to church.

A short while later, Faran pays Kelly a visit and Kelly insists she is doing good. The church community has gotten her through the darkness. Faran wants Kelly to dance with Henry and comes clean that her doctor has cleared her to dance, but she isn’t ready to do that yet. Kelly promises to pray for her but won’t dance with Henry.

Tabby reads what Chip’s mom wrote in the paper out loud to Dr. Sullivan. She’s angry that she is being accused of lying and that Chip seems like the victim. She’s also pissed that she can’t release her movie. Dr. Sullivan tells Tabby to write about it to get her anger out.

Mouse receives an alert on Spooky Spaghetti about Bloody Rose Waters’ cabin being found in the woods. She lies and cancels her date with Ash.

It seems that Noa’s welcome has worn out at her boyfriend’s house. Shawn’s mom makes a pointed jab at her about not paying rent for the last six months, and Noa reacts by saying her mom is getting out of rehab. She’ll be moving back home tomorrow.

Tabby shows Imogen the article and confesses she wishes she would have done to Chip what the principal and A wanted her to do … carve an A in Chip’s chest.

Kelly is making out with Greg when she stops to pray to get over her temptations. She thinks she can make a believer out of Greg.

Mouse, Noa, and Faran head off in the dead of night to find Bloody Rose Water’s cabin. They find it and briefly freak out when Ash shows up. Ash confesses he put it together when Mouse blew him off.

Ash and Mouse talk it out at a restaurant, and she confesses she’s worried he is going to break up with her. Ash assures her he won’t but asks if she can lay off Spooky Spaghetti a little.

Thursday

The verdict is in and Archie Waters receives the death penalty. The girls are with Dr. Sullivan when they hear the news, and she hopes it comforts them some. Even with the verdict in and A locked away, the girls agree that it’s best if they stick with group therapy.

The girls are sun tanning when Noa says she is staying at her mom’s place by herself. The girls are talking about their favorite summer movie when Imogen proclaims it’s going to be the best summer ever.

Tabby reveals she took Dr. Sullivan’s advice and put her anger into words. A quick shot shows Chip’s mom arriving at his headstone which now has “Rapist” spray-painted on it in large letters.

The Last Day of School

Noa lied and her mom won’t be returning from rehab until the end of the summer. Until then, she has the apartment to herself. Which means the girls have a place to hang out all summer without adult supervision.

Reality hits the BFFs when they’re informed they have missed too much school. Their grades dropped and therefore they need to attend summer school. Otherwise, they won’t advance to their junior year.

The episode ends with a teen couple sneaking around inside Bloody Rose Waters’ cabin. Hormones get the best of them, and they start making out in the creepy cabin. Cue Bloody Rose Waters and the teens being stabbed to death.
