The CW’s Reign season four episode 11 found Darnley convincing Queen Mary to kidnap her rival after learning Queen Elizabeth might marry Archduke Ferdinand, a Catholic. However, Darnley never puts Mary’s interests above his own and demanded the Crown Matrimonial so he can rule equally with his wife. He was also prepared to blame the plot to kidnap Elizabeth on Mary, and his men in England had her seal to prove she authorized the attack. Fortunately, Mary has Bothwell on her side and he was able to halt the plan before Elizabeth was even aware of the danger. As for the Crown Matrimonial suggestions, Mary squashed that idea and put Darnley in his place.

Up next is season four episode 12 titled ‘The Shakedown.’ Directed by Norma Bailey from a script by Patti Carr and Lara Olsen, The Shakedown is set to air on May 12, 2017. The season four cast includes Adelaide Kane as Queen Mary, Rachel Skarsten as Queen Elizabeth, Megan Fellows as Queen Catherine, Dan Jeannotte as James, and Will Kemp as Lord Darnley. Ben Geurens, Celina Sinden, Jonathan Goad, Craig Parker, Spencer MacPherson, and Rose Williams also star in Reign‘s fourth and final season.

The Shakedown Plot: MARY MUST DEFEND HER THRONE — After a tragic earthquake hits Scotland, Mary (Kane) must face John Knox (Jonathan Goad) amidst claims that she isn’t coming to the aid of her people. Elizabeth (Skarsten) takes drastic measures after she is discovered with Gideon (Geurens), while Charles (MacPherson) makes a decision that backfires.
