The trailer for Apple TV+’s Slow Horses season three opens with Jackson Lamb (played by Gary Oldman) complaining that while he needs a crack team to take on rogue MI5 agents and retrieve Catherine Standish, all he has at his disposal are the dysfunctional Slough House bunch.
The third season of the critically acclaimed spy thriller will premiere on November 29, 2023 with the release of the first two episodes. New season three episodes will arrive on Wednesdays through the season finale on December 27th.
The six-episode season is based on Mick Herron’s third book of the Slough House series, Real Tigers. In addition to Gary Oldman, the cast includes Academy Award-nominee Kristin Scott Thomas, BAFTA Scotland Award-winner Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, and Christopher Chung. Freddie Fox, Chris Reilly, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan, and Jonathan Pryce also star in season three.
Newcomers to the Slow Horses world include Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù as Sean Donovan and Katherine Waterston as Alison Dunn. Sean Donovan’s described as the former head of security at the British embassy in Istanbul. Alison Dunn is an MI5 agent who uncovers a dark secret at the heart of the agency.
Will Smith (Veep, not the Oscar-winning actor) adapted the series and serves as an executive producer along with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Douglas Urbanski, Gail Mutrux, Jane Robertson, and Graham Yost. Saul Metzstein directed season three.

“Slow Horses is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House. In season three, a romantic liaison in Istanbul threatens to expose a buried MI5 secret in London. When Jackson Lamb and his team of misfits are dragged into the fight, they find themselves caught in a conspiracy that threatens the future not just of Slough House but of MI5 itself.”
The streaming service has already given the series an early season four renewal order.
