NBC’s medical version of The Office, St. Denis Medical has been officially renewed for a second season. The half-hour mockumentary is set in a hospital and follows administrators, doctors, and nurses as they talk to the camera about their day.
The renewal isn’t a surprise given that the comedy is NBC’s top new show of the 2024-2025 season among the coveted 18-49 age group. The network reports that 21.4 million viewers have tuned in to the workplace comedy. Additionally, it earned two Critics Choice Awards nominations: Best Comedy Series and Best Actor in a Comedy Series (David Alan Grier).
“St. Denis Medical is a mockumentary about an underfunded, understaffed Oregon hospital where the dedicated doctors and nurses try their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity,” reads NBC’s synopsis. Grier, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Allison Tolman, Josh Lawson, Kahyun Kim, Mekki Leeper, and Kaliko Kauahi star.
The series currently sits at 88% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. New episodes air on Tuesdays at 8pm ET/PT.
Eric Ledgin (showrunner) and Justin Spitzer serve as writers and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Simon Heuer, Ruben Fleischer, Bridget Kyle, and Vicky Luu.
