‘Chucky’ and ‘Reginald the Vampire’ Earn Renewal Orders

USA Network/Syfy have good news for fans of killer dolls and vampires. Syfy’s Chucky will return for a third season and Reginald the Vampire has officially been renewed for season two.

The second season of Chucky was one of the top 10 drama cable series in 2022 among adults. And the network’s Reginald the Vampire starring Jacob Batalon was second among all cable dramas on Wednesdays at 10pm during its first season run.

“The cast and crew of Chucky would like to thank fans and critics alike for their overwhelming response to season two, which we’re delighted to announce has now spurred the official greenlight on season three. This news has made Chucky very happy. Thank Damballa for that because otherwise Chucky would have been frankly impossible to deal with. Many thanks also to our partners at SYFY, USA and UCP for helping us keep Chucky busy. See you in 2023 for what Chucky himself promises will be his scariest season ever,” said executive producer Don Mancini.

Chucky season two premiered on October 5, 2022 and stars Zackary Arthur as Jake Wheeler, Björgvin Arnarson as Devon Evans, and Alyvia Alyn Lind as Lexy Cross. Brad Dourif provides the voice of the iconic doll.

Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, David Kirschner, and Jeff Renfroe join Mancini as Chucky executive producers.

“The only thing better than getting the opportunity to make a season of television with SYFY is to get the opportunity to do it again,” stated Reginald the Vampire executive producer Harley Peyton. “All of us – cast and crew, writers, producers, and — can hardly wait.”

The horror comedy, based on Johnny B. Truant’s book series, is executive produced by Harley Peyton, director Jeremiah Chechik, Todd Berger, Lindsay Macadam, Brett Burlock, and Peter Emerson.

Jacob Batalon stars in the title role, Savannah Basley plays Angela Hibbert, Em Haine is Sarah Kinney, and Mandela Van Peebles is Maurice Miller.

Syfy offers this description of the comedy:

Imagine a world populated by beautiful, fit and vain vampires. Reginald Andres tumbles headlong into it as an unlikely hero who will have to navigate every kind of obstacle – the girl he loves but can’t be with, a bully manager at work and the vampire chieftain who wants him dead. Fortunately, Reginald discovers he has a few unrecognized powers of his own. A new show with a lot of heart and just enough blood, Reginald the Vampire proves the undead life is just as complicated as life itself.
