Lucy Hale is This Year’s ‘Teen Choice’ Host

Lucy Hale’s no stranger to the Teen Choice stage having earned nine nominations, winning seven. However, this year the Teen Choice veteran will hit the stage in a different capacity as Fox has just revealed Lucy Hale has been tapped to host the Teen Choice 2019.

Eight of Hale’s Teen Choice nominations were in recognition of her performance as Aria Montgomery in Pretty Little Liars. The ninth nomination came in 2018 for her role in the horror film Truth or Dare.

Lucy Hale will next be seen taking on the title role in The CW’s Katy Keene. The 2020 midseason series is a spinoff of Riverdale and features characters from Archie comics. She also has The Hating Game, Fantasy Island, Big Gold Brick, and Son of the South in the works.

Joining Hale in hosting the awards show will be YouTube star David Dobrik. In addition to working on his YouTube channel, Dobrik will star alongside judges Ciara and Debbie Gibson in Nickelodeon’s upcoming series, America’s Most Musical Family.

This year’s Teen Choice will air live (for the first time in the show’s history) on Sunday, August 11th at 8pm ET (tape-delayed on the West Coast).

In addition to announcing the Teen Choice 2019 hosts, Fox confirmed Grammy nominees OneRepublic will perform “Rescue Me” and a medley of their other hits. Pop/R&B artist Bazzi will perform “Paradise” and TrailerTrap artist Blanco Brown is set to perform “The Git Up.”

Mabel will take the stage to sing “Don’t Call Me Up,” and Jordan McGraw (along with Sarah Hyland) is confirmed to perform “Met At A Party.”

Among the celebrities scheduled to appear are Gabrielle Union, WWE Divas Champions The Bella Twins, Robert Downey Jr., Jessica Alba, Madison Beer, and Maia Mitchell. Lauren Jauregui, Gregg Sulkin, Grant Gustin, Sky Brown, Noah Centineo, Candace Cameron Bure, and John Stamos will also appear.
