‘Do Not Enter’ Drops a Creepy Trailer

David Morrell’s bestseller Creepers gets the big screen treatment with Do Not Enter, which just released its first trailer. The trailer shows an investigation inside an abandoned hotel as a voiceover says, “A powerful secret has been shared with me. What must be done, must be done.”

Adeline Rudolph (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) plays Diane, Nicholas Hamilton (IT) is Tod, Francesca Reale (Stranger Things) stars as Cora, Jake Manley (The Order) is Rick, and Laurence O’Fourain (The Witcher: Blood Origin) plays Frank Balenger. The supernatural thriller also stars Kai Caster (Yellowstone) as JD, Shane Paul McGhie (Unbelievable) as Vernon, Brennan Keel Cook (The Pale Blue Eye) as Mack, and Javier Botet (The Conjuring) as Pale Creature.

“The Creepers are thrill-seeking urban explorers who love pushing things to the edge, and their latest stunt—livestreaming from New Jersey’s abandoned Paragon Hotel—is their biggest yet. With its mobster past, supposed ghosts, and rumored stash of $300 million, the Paragon is catnip to the Creepers, a surefire way to increase their fanbase. But fear has other plans. Daring to enter the Paragon, not heeding the warnings, the Creepers fend off deadly rivals while supernatural creatures stalk them from the shadows, testing their endurance, sanity, and willingness to pay fame’s heavy price,” reads Lionsgate’s synopsis.

Award-winning music video director Marc Klasfeld makes his feature film debut with Do Not Enter. Stephen Susco adapted Morrell’s book, and Jordan Schur serves as a producer.

“We have arrived at our destination with a powerful script adapted from a timeless book and a gifted director leading the charge,” said Schur, Chairman and CEO of Suretone Pictures. “We could not ask for a better partner in Lionsgate.”

Klasfeld commented, “I have waited decades to find the right feature film project to which I could truly dedicate myself.”

And Eda Kowan, Lionsgate’s Executive Vice President of Acquisitions, said, “We are excited to work with Jordan and the team at Suretone along with Marc Klasfeld to bring this supernatural adventure thriller to audiences everywhere.”

Lionsgate has set a March 20, 2026 theatrical, digital, and on-demand release.

‘Outlander: Blood of my Blood’ Press Conference Highlights

Starz is launching season one of the Outlander prequel, Outlander: Blood of my Blood, on August 8, 2025 at 8pm ET/PT. The series, which has already been renewed for season two, follows the love stories of Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, and Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp.

The cast is led by Jamie Roy and Harriet Slater as Brian and Ellen, and Jeremy Irvine and Hermione Corfield as Henry and Julia. Starz recently hosted virtual press conferences with three of the four leads along with executive producer and showrunner of the historical fantasy Matthew B. Roberts and executive producer Maril Davis. The following are highlights of the lengthy press conferences.

On establishing the prequel’s identity, separate from Outlander:

Maril Davis: “I just think we’re showing two new love stories in unique ways. And this show is just its own special thing. Once again, we’re entrenched back in Scotland. We’re showing more of the clan system and the interfamily dynamics.

It’s a way to experience two unique love stories. One is a thunderclap moment and love at first sight, and one is a slow-growing one that turns into a great love. So, I think it’s just wholly its own. You do not have to have watched Outlander to watch this series. And if anything, if you haven’t seen Outlander, I would suggest starting with Blood of my Blood and then you can go all the way through to Outlander.”

On the possibility of time ripple changes impacting Outlander:

Matthew B. Roberts: “I don’t lose sleep over it, if that’s a simple answer. But you know  we take into consideration – we pay attention to the canon of the show very much to make sure that what we’re doing doesn’t undo something in the show. We certainly want to pay attention to that very carefully, just like we did when we had to make changes on Outlander just because of production reasons, actor availability, budget… things like that. We wanted to make sure that we didn’t unwind something in the books that we were planning on getting to later.

I have an idea of where we’re going in the future, so we make sure that we stay within the guardrails of the Outlander TV series.”

On the prequel’s endpoint:

Matthew B. Roberts: “[When] Jamie Fraser’s born. It’s kind of when the Outlander story starts, in my mind. That becomes Outlander at that point.”

On Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s performances influencing how they approached playing their parents:

Harriet Slater: “I didn’t consciously take any of his mannerisms or anything like that, but I think watching Outlander did really help me prepare in that I saw the fieriness, I think, of Jamie, and also of Brianna, because I think there’s both of them in Ellen. I think they get a lot of their strength and determination from Ellen and from that MacKenzie side. Although Brian has a fair amount of that, too.”

Jamie Roy: “The feistiness.”

Harriet Slater: “Yeah, and the strength.”

Jamie Roy: “For me, it wasn’t so much that I watched Sam’s performance to try and get mannerisms, but what’s really funny – and this has become more prevalent recently because just at Comic-Con we released a small clip of the bridge scene. And the manner of comments, people are saying, like, ‘Oh, Jamie’s really nailed the mannerisms of Sam. He must’ve studied really hard and worked really hard for that.’ I’m like, ‘I honestly didn’t.’

It’s almost like casting knew what they were doing when they picked me for this role, because apparently there’s a lot of crossover between Sam and I, just as people. And, you know, when we are together, I do feel like that, like we are very similar personalities.”

Hermione Corfield: “I think when you’re approaching, well, in this particular scenario, obviously, I’m Claire’s mother so Jeremy and I had a conversation as to what traits that she had inherited from both of us. And I think for me, I was keen never to do an impression of Caitriona’s performance but instead to find the core of Claire and then the core of Julia and work out in which ways they’re similar and which ways they’re different, and then build the layers on top of that, in terms of building the character. Of course, you’ve got to take inspiration and pay tribute, but I think it’s important to create your own character.”

On Ellen being far more independent than other women of her era:

Harriet Slater: “I think that’s her struggle is that she is a ‘modern’ woman. She’s educated and that’s very unusual for women at the time, and that’s only because she was her father’s favorite and so he treated her kind of like he treated the boys but better. He also trusted her and listened to her and valued her opinion. She kind of co-led with him in a way; she was instrumental in setting up marriages for her siblings. I think once he has gone, she’s left very vulnerable because she always said she didn’t want to marry for the sake of the clan, which was kind of the duty of women at the time, and he allowed that. But as soon as he’s out of the picture, her brothers use that immediately and sort of start treating her like a pawn in their own game of chess in order to secure strategic alliances for themselves, really, but also for the clan.

And so, yeah, it was frustrating at times to be playing someone who is so intelligent and has so much to offer but isn’t able to—she’s isn’t allowed to because of society and the expectations on women at the time.”

On playing a character who steps into a completely different era unprepared:

Hermione Corfield: “It’s a difficult line to tread. I think one of the big challenges was taking a modern woman who’s on the forefront of the suffragette movement, working in a redaction office, who suddenly finds herself in the 1700s. Because I think for a character to be interesting, there has to be a level of agency for her and an ability to try and change her circumstances to a certain degree. I think that’s what interesting to watch. And I think that was done through the obstacles that she’s faced with.

She can’t necessarily respond to them as she would in World War I England as a woman of that time. But she has to find interesting ways to respond to them within the confines of being a woman that cannot really speak her mind and in a lot of the circumstances is under threat of violence if she doesn’t do as she’s told. So, I think it was leaning into the fact that Julia is an intelligent woman who very quickly realizes the stakes of how dangerous it would be if she was to behave in the way that she had in the ’20s. And so yeah, I think that was the key to it. But it’s a challenge of making sure that’s a consistency in the character, but also, she’s learning and assimilating as well.”

On the prequel’s exquisite costumes helping to inform her character:

Hermione Corfield: “I mean, Trisha [Biggar’s] eye for detail—our costume designer—is so extraordinary. Every single time I go into a fitting, they’ve got some other amazing jacket that’s been handmade and from the most beautiful tweeds and wool. It all feels, you know, exactly as it should if it were in that era. So, it absolutely informs the performance, and particularly going from ’20s, which has sort of looser fits and is a bit more sort of straight-shaped, you then go into the 1700s and everything is fitted and corseted, and it sort of pulls you in and makes you sit up straight. So, it really helped inform character as well.”

On advice and support from the Outlander cast:

Jamie Roy: “The first time I met Sam, his advice was just to really enjoy it and just to appreciate all the moments. You’re gonna have days which are long. You’re gonna have days which are tough. But at the end of the day, like, look at what we’re doing, you know? I’ve honestly taken that advice really to heart, to the point when we were walking out to Hall H and I took the moment just to remind myself this is the last first time that we’ll have this experience. So, just standing there and then taking a mental image of this. And when we’re on set, imagining if it’s the last time.

One of the things I said to you, remember, in one of our last takes, one of our last scenes, I said to Harriet right before we were about to call action, I was like, ‘Hey, […]what happens if this was the last time we ever got to do this?’”

Harriet Slater: “And I’d just like to say that was on my coverage! And I obviously got emotional! It wasn’t meant to be emotional!”

Jamie Roy: “She’s like, ‘What?!’”

Harriet Slater: “So then I suddenly start to think, ‘Oh, no! What if we never get to do this again?’ And I was really sad. So, I think we were all really hoping that we’d get another season, so thank goodness.”

Jamie Roy: “But it worked, though, like, by purpose of saying that because I remember that take and it was really, really nice and it felt really present. I felt your presence.”

Harriet Slater: “[…] It was nice. That was the moment where I really, really just-because it was right at the end of the shoot and it made me reflect on the whole last seven months, I think, that we were there, and just really prayed that we got another season. And we did.”

On the Outlander: Blood of my Blood casting process:

Hermione Corfield: “I was familiar with Outlander before, and I was familiar with the project. And when I got the call saying that they wanted to screentest me, I then realized that Jeremy was playing Henry, which was a really lovely surprise because Jeremy have known each other for 10 years. So, I was quite lucky in that respect because whenever you walk into those chemistry reads, it can be a bit of a challenge. But because he and I had known each other so long, it was an immediate level of comfortability, which was a huge advantage.

We did the chemistry read and then it was pretty quick, actually. I got told that I was going to Scotland. So, yes, I jumped on a plane and read the scripts on the plane.”

Jamie Roy: “I had auditioned for Outlander season seven beforehand for a one-line role, Militia Man No. 2, I think it was, or maybe it was No. 1 … I can’t remember. So that was my first day and I got pinned for it and I was very excited. I thought, ‘Yes, this is my big break on TV. This is gonna make me a star, this one line, guy who has no name.’

And then my agent told me that the role fell through, but they said they would find something else for me another time. And I remember feeling really, really quite upset and gutted about it because it was like, ‘Oh, no.’ And then I got another audition, this time it was for a bigger role. This guy had a name. It was for a guest star in season seven, so I was like, ‘Oh, this is cool, right? I’ve done something well, I can say more than five, six words.’

That audition went really well, didn’t hear anything back, and I was like ‘Okay, cool, that’s fine, just grateful for the opportunity.’ And then it was I think January ’23 where I got the email with the casting for Brian. I remember I was lying on my bed in Florida where I was staying at the time and just with my family, seeing them for the Christmas holidays, whatever. When I just read this little blurb about the project and the breakdown for the character, there was something so vivid in me that I knew … I was like, ‘This is the one.’

For whatever reason it is, I read a couple of paragraphs on Brian, I was like, ‘No, this is me. I know this has to be the one.’ And as actors, I feel like […] you’ll get breakdowns and additions, ‘Oh, yeah, I can probably play that. Oh, maybe that’s a stretch. Yeah, I could – that’s close to home.’ But I remember so vividly reading that and being like, Yeah.’ Which is so wild, because it is for a leading role in a brand-new series. So, I was like, my head must’ve been the size of the room. I don’t know, bigger than it is already.”

Maril Davis: “Little do you know, though, that we pulled it because I think of Blood of My Blood. We pulled that, the Militia Man No. 1.”

Jamie Roy:  “I only found that out after the time. But it’s such a lovely story, because I’ve told so many of my friends. I was like, ‘You know, you send audition after audition  through, and you never hear anything back and you just never know what’s happening behind closed doors and what the future holds for you.’

So, if there’s any actors who hear that, it’s just like not to give up and always remain hopeful.”

‘Shelby Oaks’ Trailer Teases a Hunt for a Missing Ghost Hunter

Neon’s trailer for the indie horror film Shelby Oaks introduces the titular town and a search for a paranormal investigator who went missing while visiting it. The crowdfunded movie, which had its world premiere at the 2024 Fantasia Festival marks the directorial debut of YouTube film critic Chris Stuckmann.

The film stars Michael Beach, Keith David, Sarah Durn, Brendan Sexton III, Camille Sullivan, Emily Bennett, and Rob Grant. Executive producers include Mike Flanagan, Trevor Macy, and Melinda Nishioka, with Cameron Burns, Aaron Koontz, and Ashleigh Snead serving as producers.

During a panel at the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con, first-time feature filmmaker Chris Stuckmann spoke about his lifelong love of films. “Movies have always been my passion. Ever since I was a kid, they legitimately saved my life. I do not think I would be alive this day if I didn’t have the movies experience, something to look forward to every single weekend of being here. And they were always, this was always the goal. I didn’t know if I could get here, but it was always, you know, it was always in my sights,” said Stuckmann.

Fantastia Festival offers this description of the horror film: “Who took Riley Brennan? That’s the question asked by millions of devoted, even obsessed fans of the popular YouTube series Paranormal Paranoids, which ceased production when Brennan and her three co-hosts disappeared near the deserted town of Shelby Oaks, Ohio in 2008.

Conspiracy theories have run rampant over the years, but none are more determined to get to the truth than Riley’s sister, Mia (Sullivan), who has finally agreed to telling Riley’s story to a documentary film crew (Bennett and Grant) in the hopes of finding closure. Closure, however, refuses to be found as a series of shocking events opens the door to a deeper mystery surrounding Riley, one that leads Mia to follow her ghost-hunting sister’s footsteps down a path to confront demons of the past and get answers that can only be found somewhere within the darkness of Shelby Oaks.”

The film also stars Oscar nominee Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction) and Ilfenesh Hadera (Godfather of Harlem).

Denzel Washington and Spike Lee’s successful collaboration began with Mo’ Better Blues in 1990. 1992’s Malcolm X came next, followed by He Got Game in 1998 and 2006’s Inside Man. ‘Resident Alien’ – Alan Tudyk and the Cast Share Their Thoughts on the Final Season

USA Network’s Resident Alien has been cancelled after four seasons, something fans learned just hours before the cast and showrunner Chris Sheridan appeared at the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con. The critically acclaimed, incredibly entertaining sci-fi series has a passionate fanbase and during our roundtable interview, Sheridan didn’t rule out the possibility of a Resident Alien film in the future. Sheridan also confirmed he saw the writing on the wall while working on season three, and advised his cast to treat it as if it was the final season.

Although the cancellation was heartbreaking, Alan Tudyk, Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, and Alice Wetterlund were still feeling positive about the overall experience. In fact, Tomko told us in Comic-Con’s Resident Alien press room that being among fans was the best way to learn the news.

“You know, I’ve been telling people this is a lot like a graduation where you’re so proud. You’re so proud of yourself, proud of each other. You’re happy for one another. You want to see each other succeed. You want to see them go beyond this point and have other opportunities, other moments where maybe we can see each other again down the road,” explained Tomko. “And you know, it’s such a celebration, but it’s also a huge shift. This undercurrent under all of it that says, ‘Wow, we graduated. It’s over now. We have to move on.’ And that is just…everybody can relate to that.

There’s a sadness there that you just—it’s that moment in time where you’re just like, ‘Wow, this is this is the moment. It’s surreal and it’s happening right now.’ And so, honestly, I’m glad I’m here with you guys. Like, this is the place to do it. If we’re going to be anywhere, it’s with our fans, with people who actually love us and care for us and have been rooting for us this whole time.”

The series finale airs on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10pm ET/PT on USA Network.

‘Alone’ Season 12 Episode 7 Recap: “Echoes of Emptiness”

Alone Season 12 Baha Mahmutov

Two women and two men remain in the quest for the $500,000 grand prize as The History Channel’s Alone season 12 episode seven opens. All four are hurting for food, but only one is having a tough time keeping a fire lit.

Episode seven tracks the action from day 17 to day 20. On day 19, the field of survivalists narrows to just three. The following is a recap, so there are spoilers ahead.

Baha Mahmutov: Age 50, Wharncliff, Ontario, Canada
Day 17, 2:43am – It’s just 30 degrees, and Baha’s up maintaining his fire. He didn’t bring a ferro rod, so he’s forced to get up multiple times each night to work on the fire. Baha admits the nights are becoming less bearable. He plans on building a chimney to make his tent warmer, but food’s a bigger priority.

7:21am – Baha heads out to explore, confessing he’s frustrated he hasn’t been successful in hunting. The History Channel notes he’s lost 16 pounds since the season began. He checks out a dry riverbed and follows it, hoping to find some tracks. Fortunately, it does turn out to be an active site, with lots of warthog activity. There are warthog burrows everywhere, and Baha believes the warthogs are inside their dens. He wants to hang out there but needs to make the two-mile trek back to camp to check on his fire. Baha thinks it may be possible to return to the riverbed and smoke out a warthog.

Day 18, 8:42am – There’s nothing to cook so he heads off to where he saw the dens. He takes some dried grass and animal poop with him, along with some coal, to smoke out the warthogs. Baha confesses he’s burning a lot of calories and is afraid he may not last long enough to win.

11:39am – He’s near the warthog dens when he builds a fire. Baha finds a den and stuffs the burning grass inside. He stays outside, poised to shoot if an animal runs out.

1:24pm – Nothing emerges from the den, so he moves to another hole.

2:45pm – Baha wonders if this was a silly idea. He hasn’t heard any noise and admits to feeling defeated.

Day 19, 6:19am – Baha’s outside his tent, tending to his fire, and his mind is racing. He thinks about what’s happening at home and worries about his psychological state. His family needs him, and here he spends every night just waiting for morning to arrive.

“Perhaps my purpose here is not win; it’s to learn,” says Baha. He accepts his fate and his failures and thanks Africa for teaching him things. Baha taps out, confessing the nights were too hard because he didn’t have a ferro rod. He’s okay with leaving Alone and has realized money isn’t what he needs. His family’s used to starting over from nothing, but the other times that he’s done so, he hasn’t been alone. Being alone in South Africa has made him understand his values and the importance of family.

Katie Rydge: Age 45, Emerald Beach, AUS
Day 17, 10:44am – Katie sets up a trap for a mouse and watches waterbuck nearby. Today she’ll work on her shelter and that means she has to fetch mud. She’s hungry and realizes she needs to decide if hunting is worth the calorie expenditure. Katie thinks fishing is the way to go for now.

She uses her rain jacket to transport mud while explaining she’s got traps set for small rodents to use as bait. While waiting to catch something, she builds a big mud dome so that her shelter will stay warm at night.

At 22, she woke up spiritually and traveled to America. She spent time in the Tracker survivor school in New Jersey so she could learn more primitive skills, including tracking and learning about plants.

1:48pm – Katie continues to work on her mud dome until she’s satisfied it will keep heat in.

Kelsey Loper: Age 35, Winnett, Montana
Day 17, 2:27pm – While stretching her legs, she spots an African Fish Eagle in a tree. After a brief rest, she heads out on her hunting loop. There are waterbucks nearby, but she’s not allowed to take them with her bow. Instead, she’s going to concentrate on warthogs. She spots a large area where a warthog’s house caved in and attempts to figure out where they’ve moved to. Kelsey wishes she would have shot at the warthogs she saw back on day six, but she didn’t want to be greedy.

Day 20, 8:47am – She hears geese and decides to just sit by the water where she might be able to shoot one. Kelsey doesn’t notice one that was nearby until it flies off. She’s still kicking herself for not shooting a warthog days earlier.

12:09pm – Kelsey gives up and decides to return to her beach closer to camp.

2:24pm – She confesses she can’t just sit around or she’ll tap, so instead she goes for a super slow walk. It hasn’t been a good day and Kelsey’s feeling depressed and hungry. She’s reached a starvation point and the game around her is for 60-pound bows, which is larger than what she brought. Kelsey’s burning calories on her walks but they’re the only thing keeping her in the game at this point.

She’s almost at the point where she can’t pull her bow back. “I’m very worried that I’ll be pulled for medical weight loss,” Kelsey admits. However, she is going to keep hanging on and does not want to tap.

As she’s walking back to camp, she sees a giant tortoise. She’s elated and says hi, getting down on the ground next to it. Kelsey rubs its shell and assures the tortoise that it’s okay. Tortoises are protected and can’t be killed or captured, but this one has definitely improved Kelsey’s mood.

Kelsey thinks if the tortoise can survive in this area, so can she. She’s got a huge smile on her face as she continues walking back to camp.

Nathan Olsen: Age 52, Buhl, Idaho
Day 19, 12:14pm – Nathan picks more buffalo thorn fruit, and he’s learned from the baboons that he doesn’t need to spit out the pits. 100 grams of buffalo thorn fruit is 240 calories, according to THC.

Nathan’s priority is getting calories, but unfortunately, he’s in a dry spell with fishing. He’s spent 12,000 calories working on his shelter and it’s not even close to completion. Today, he’s going to try hunting again, using the ambush style. He’s lost 15 pounds since day one.

1:27pm – He finds an area to use as a blind and waits.

3:14pm – So far, nothing’s come near his area. However, he knows it’s a waiting game. Nathan’s been thinking a lot about his son and about going hunting with him when he was just 10 years old. His son shot a rabbit that didn’t die, and Nathan had to kill it to put it out of its misery. The rabbit turned out to be pregnant. That incident made his son decide he didn’t want to be a hunter.

Nathan respected his son’s compassion and believed it was a beautiful thing.

5:07pm – He returns to camp and decides he’ll go night fishing.

9:11pm – Nathan hikes to the far side of the lagoon and has a pole set up while he uses his hand line. While fishing, Nathan explains that his son had an accident at age 11 that broke his skull. The traumatic injury changed his son’s brain. Later in life, he struggled with addiction. Six and a half years ago Nathan got a call in the middle of the night informing him his son had died of a drug overdose. Nathan gets emotional as he explains that he loved him and tried to make the right decisions but “didn’t always know how.” He understands now that a life lived, no matter how short, is a beautiful thing.

Nathan checks his pole and is excited to have caught a nearly four-foot-long catfish.
