Marshals Episode 7 Recap: Family Business and Secret Lives

Kayce works with Monica’s wild mustang but doesn’t seem to be accomplishing much as CBS’s Marshals episode seven opens. Dolly Weaver shows up unexpectedly, giving Kayce (Luke Grimes) an excuse to wrap up the training. He’d sort of promised a tour of the area, and Kayce’s a man of his word.

(The following is a recap of episode seven, “Family Business,” and there are spoilers.)

Dolly (Ellyn Jameson) loves the area, and Kayce points out a spot where he stole Jamie’s clothes and made him ride home naked. (It’s kind of a shock to hear Kayce laugh at a memory of Jamie.) The small talk continues, and Kayce compliments her riding skills.

They make it back to East Camp and Dolly’s dad, Tom (Chris Mulkey), joins them with a hat for Kayce from his ranch. Kayce’s happy to see Tom’s back on his feet, and Tom reveals he shot an elk and wants to cook it for Kayce. Kayce accepts the offer, knowing it’s not worth trying to argue with a Weaver.

Tom’s a good cook and the conversation mostly centers on ranching. Tom’s a believer in new technology; Kayce prefers the old ways. Kayce thinks Tom would get along with Beth, because they are both laser-focused on the bottom line. Things get a bit chilly when Tom asks to buy East Camp. Kayce cuts the dinner short and after Tom leaves, Dolly claims she was blindsided by her dad. She apologizes and thanks him for the lovely day. She hugs him and attempts a kiss, but he pulls away.

Cal’s day starts off with a visit to his doctor, who wants to do some tests on his neck and shoulder pain that Cal’s experiencing. When he’s leaving, Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) spots Belle’s husband, Jared (Eddie Aguirre), with another woman.

Miles (Tatanka Means), Belle (Arielle Kebbel), and Andrea (Ash Santos) relax at the bar after work, drinking and playing pool. Sabrina pops in and Miles introduces her to his “teammates.” Andrea’s surprised when Sabrina describes Miles’ football career. She had no idea Miles was an All-State tight end and linebacker. He also had a full ride to a D1 program, but his career ended too quickly after he and the coach butted heads.

A new workday begins with a new case for the team. Someone placed a car bomb in Judge Pauline Ayers’ car, and it was only a lucky fluke that she and her husband survived. A valet was killed in the explosion. Clint Gallo, a bomber who Judge Ayers sentenced to prison and was just paroled, is a likely suspect. He missed a check-in with his parole officer last week and threatened the judge 10 years ago.

Andrea and Kayce will hunt the ex-con while Belle, Cal, and Miles protect the judge and her family.

Pauline, her husband, Blake, and their daughter Fallon aren’t thrilled about being in lockdown but handle it fairly well. Blake jokes about the number of threats his wife receives, and Pauline asks Belle if her husband, Jared (a dentist), gives her a hard time about her job. Cal doesn’t mention seeing Jared with another woman, as Belle confirms it’s a constant negotiation with her husband over their jobs.

Fallon’s not her mom’s biggest fan and they disagree about everything. Cal whispers to Belle, wondering if they should say something. (He’s basically wondering if he should tell Belle he saw Jared.) Belle believes family drama should stay within the family. She’s confused about Cal’s interest in the family dynamics.

Fallon looks out of one of the large windows and Cal screams at her to stop. Suddenly, shots ring out and the window shatters. Belle covers Pauline’s body and Cal protects Fallon until the shooting ends.

Andrea and Kayce find Clint (Joshua Dov) at his girlfriend’s house, and he makes a run for it. Andrea’s a badass and knocks him into a trash bin and Kayce’s impressed. They bring him in and Clint insists he was at his girlfriend’s place. He suggests there isn’t a shortage of people who want Judge Ayers dead, but he didn’t kill her.

Belle and Miles check out the area and determine the shots were fired from a parking garage across the way. The shooter was gone when they arrived, and they didn’t leave bullet casings behind. Miles has asked for the security footage. Belle wonders if Clint has guns, and Cal confirms Clint’s in custody and couldn’t have been the shooter. Which means he’s probably not the bomber.

The team turns over the crime scene to the local police and Miles volunteers to stay behind. Cal wants to move the family, and Pauline believes her husband and daughter can be taken somewhere safe, away from her and the line of fire.

Cal thinks Kayce’s ranch is the perfect hideout spot.

Cal and Andrea bring Fallon and Blake to Kayce’s and it’s obvious that Blake is aware of the Dutton family. He tells his daughter that they’re in good hands with Kayce Dutton. Kayce and Cal believe the person who’s trying to kill Pauline has a military background. And, strangely, the bomb used is most often seen in the African Sahel. Cal’s having someone look through the judge’s cases and flag anyone she convicted who was in the military.

Miles learns a red van was seen entering and leaving the parking garage. The local cops also discovered passports Blake owns with an alias. Why would a guy who runs a non-profit need fake passports?

Cal and Belle return to the station and Belle confirms that Blake didn’t use the fake passports to travel. He used them for secret financial transactions that moved to and from Equatorial Guinea, which is the same place the bomb type traced back to. Cal thinks he’s a suspect and may have put a hit on his wife.

Over at East Camp, Blake steps outside to get better cell service. Fallon confesses to Andrea and Kayce that she’s having a tough time dealing with someone trying to kill her mom. Andrea says they can relate; both her and Kayce’s dads were killed because of their jobs. They haven’t found Andrea’s dad’s killer and finding him is what motivates her. No one outside the family knows who killed John Dutton, so to the world, his death is unsolved. Kayce insists he doesn’t think about it much.

Kayce steps away when Cal calls with an update about Blake. Cal’s sure Blake’s shady and could have ordered the hit, and he asks Kayce to try and get Blake to talk. Kayce steps outside and discovers that Blake has vanished.

Pauline’s shocked to learn he’s gone and even more shocked when Cal says he left on his own. Pauline’s surprised that her husband has passports with different aliases. Security footage from Kayce’s shows Blake walking out to a car that pulled up in front of Kayce’s and then being forced into the car. Even Pauline admits it looks like Blake knew these people were coming.

She doesn’t know what’s happening and now realizes that Blake’s had a secret life for years.

Andrea suggests they don’t tell Fallon what happened. Cal wants them to leave Kayce’s place, since Blake’s kidnappers know its location.

Miles has Blake’s hard drive, and it indicates that Blake’s been in trouble since he made a trip to a clinic in Equatorial Guinea. He was forced to use his nonprofit to help the rebels smuggle weapons. Not only that, but the president of Equatorial Guinea’s daughter was recently killed by a car bomb made by the rebels with explosives Blake supplied. The president’s henchmen threatened to kill Blake unless he told them who planted the bomb.

Cal believes Blake overheard him and Kayce discussing the origin of the car bomb, called the president’s henchmen, and then voluntarily got into their car—all to keep Pauline and Fallon safe. Unfortunately, the marshals can’t get any info on the kidnappers because their identities have been scrubbed. It’s possible they did covert work with the US government. Since Pauline’s a federal judge, she can sign a warrant to declassify their identities.

Andrea and Kayce are taking Fallon someplace safe when Andrea receives news that the kidnappers are Rylan Hightower and Nate Porter, ex-Delta Force and current private contractors who’ve worked with the Equatorial Guinea president in the past. Hightower owns property a few miles away so instead of dropping off Fallon, they take her with them.

Andrea wants to wait outside Hightower’s for Cal and Belle, who are 10 minutes away. Andrea warns Kayce that the DOJ wants these guys alive. Kayce doesn’t think Blake will still be alive if they wait and has Andrea stay with Fallon while he sneaks up to the house. He spots Hightower and Porter torturing Blake and yells before firing. One man runs for cover and the other fires back, but Kayce’s a better shot and hits him in the chest.

Kayce and the other guy exchange gunfire. When it stops, Kayce moves closer to his target’s position and sees his gun on the ground. The guy leaps out of the shadows and attacks, and for a minute it looks bad for Kayce. Finally, Kayce gets the upper hand and shoots his attacker.

Blake and Fallon are brought to the station and Pauline hugs her husband. Fallon’s holding all this against her dad, thinking he’s a monster. Andrea suggests she ask her dad what happened, while Kayce reminds her no father is perfect. Kayce believes Blake was trying to protect her and her mom.

The day’s over and Belle tries to convince Cal to go to the bar to meet Miles, Kayce, and Andrea. Cal doesn’t want to, and Belle grabs bourbon and pours drinks.

Miles and Andrea talk about dating and Miles confesses that asking out anyone outside the rez is difficult. He’s got a girl in mind but won’t say who it is. Miles asks for Kayce’s advice and Kayce admits the last person he asked out was Monica, so he doesn’t have much recent experience.

It turns out the woman’s there, and Miles takes a drink, gets up his courage, and heads to the bar. Oh no…he wants to ask out Cal’s daughter, Maddie! Maddie not only says yes, she admits she’s wanted him to ask her. When she mentions she’s Cal’s daughter, Miles is speechless.

Cal reminisces about Maddie’s childhood and taking her to the San Diego Zoo. She was just three years old and loved it. Belle brings up Fallon, and Cal wonders if Pauline and Blake’s marriage will survive this. He asks if Belle’s marriage would last if she found out Jared was living a secret life. Belle’s had enough of Cal’s weirdness and tells him to just say what he wants to say. Cal comes clean with what he saw.

Belle admits she and Jared grew apart because her work has kept her away. She knows Jared cheats, but he’s supposed to be discreet. Belle doesn’t want to split up her family. Her priority is taking care of her son.

I expect them to kiss…and they do. They pull apart and Belle says, “This is a terrible idea.” Now it’s awkward and Cal blames it on the booze. Belle calls it a night.

Back at the bar, Kayce thinks it’s funny that Miles doesn’t drink yet he fell for a bartender. Andrea asks if he really hasn’t dated since Monica, and Kayce admits even hanging out with Dolly felt like cheating on Monica. Andrea says her mom dated after her dad was murdered, and she finally realized her mom wasn’t replacing her dad. “She was just making room for someone new,” says Andrea.

Andrea wonders what Monica would want, and Kayce says he’d love the chance to ask her. They sit in silence as The Road winner Adam Sanders performs.

The following day, Kayce rides Monica’s mustang for a minute before being thrown off. Dolly rides up in time to see him fall and apologizes for the other day. She asks for another tour of the area and Kayce agrees.

Outlander Season 8, Episode 6 Recap: A Full-Circle Moment for Young Ian and a New Path for Roger

Outlander Season 8 Episode 6 Recap
Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan in ‘Outlander’ season 8 episode 6 (Photo Credit: Starz)

Captain Charles Cunningham (Kieran Bew) survives his gunshot, but he doesn’t seem thankful as Starz’s Outlander season eight, episode six begins. He stinks and is disgusted to learn he doesn’t have control over his bladder or bowels. Claire (Caitriona Balfe) is nicer to him than he deserves, and his mother asks about his prospect of ever walking again. It’s unlikely, but he can use his arms.

(The following is a recap of season eight, episode six – “Blessed are the Merciful” – and there are spoilers.)

Kezzie Beardsley (Paul Gorman) and Benjamin Cleveland (Turlough Convery) fill Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Buck (Diarmaid Murtagh) in on their encounter with the ninety-six. They were able to dispense with them fairly easily. Cleveland reminds Jamie that he warned him to make examples of the men who were moving arms in the Ridge, and Jamie admits that’s true. Cleveland believes they should hang Cunningham, and Jamie assures him he can take care of it.

Cleveland’s still upset about how Jamie spoke to him in their last encounter and insists that Jamie owes him. Jamie agrees and gives him his word.

Cunningham asks Jamie about his men, and Jamie confirms they’re alive for now. Cunningham believes Jamie’s going to kill him, but Jamie admits he can’t while Claire’s still caring for him. Cunningham doesn’t know how he’ll handle being disabled.

Jamie decides that Cunningham’s men who hunted him down will be forced off the Ridge. If they show up again, they’ll be killed. He needs to prove to the rest of the Ridge that he’s not weak and no one can take up arms against them. Claire’s worried about the wives and children, but Jamie seems convinced this is the proper action.

He posts the notice in a public spot and then sends letters to each of the men that they are no longer welcome on the Ridge. They broke Jamie’s trust and he can’t have them residing among the peaceful Ridge inhabitants. He breaks their contracts and gives them 10 days to leave.

He hand delivers a letter to Hiram Crombie (Antony Byrne) at the trading post, and Hiram expresses regret over his actions. It’s not an apology, and he blames his actions on Cunningham. Hiram swears he thought he was doing what needed to be done to protect his family. Jamie doesn’t change his mind. He takes the trading post away from Crombie and warns him to be gone in 10 days.

Later, the wives of the men who are being forced to leave assemble at Jamie’s home and beg not to be kicked off the Ridge. Mrs. Crombie (Pauline Turner) leads the group and confesses their husbands told them not to do this. They were even threatened with violence if they asked Jamie to reconsider. Mrs. Crombie assures Jamie the women understand why he’s banished their husbands. But she insists their husbands betrayed them along with betraying Jamie’s kindness. The wives will do whatever it takes to stay and even swear oaths—if he wants.

Jamie refuses to budge. He can’t have the men who wanted to kill him owning land on the Ridge.

Later, Jamie has a change of heart and assembles the families. He reveals he’s revoking their banishment, but new rules will be in place. The men will no longer hold contracts, own their land, or be allowed to own guns. The Beardsleys will take over the trading post, and the wives can purchase meat there. Jamie will sign contracts with the wives for their land. If the husbands cause problems, they will answer to him.

Claire smiles at Jamie as the women discuss the offer. They quickly agree to Jamie’s terms and thank him for allowing them to stay.

Elspeth Cunningham (Frances Tomelty) asks Jamie to be merciful and allow her to take her son home to England. She’ll have to care for all his needs now that he’s incapacitated and wants to do it back home. He agrees.

Shortly after, Elspeth gets the carriage and her son ready for a long trip. Before she leaves, Elspeth tells Claire they might have been actual friends in a different lifetime. Claire smiles and replies, “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”

Elspeth asks which Claire considered her, and Claire holds her hands and says, “I counted you as a friend, Elspeth.”

Outlander Season 8 Episode 6 Recap

A Happy Reunion and Rollo Lives On

Ian (John Bell) and Rachel (Izzy Meikle-Small) make it to New York and to a river that Ian recognizes. They discuss Emily’s and Ian’s relationship, and Ian confesses he thinks of her now and then. Rachel thinks that’s fine since she was the mother of his children. Ian wonders if she’s alive and Rachel apologizes for everything he’s going through and feeling.

They’ve just made camp when one of Ian’s friends appears. He warns Ian to stay away from the village; it’s been burned to the ground by the Continental Army. Some escaped, and he doesn’t know if Ian’s wife is among them. However, he suggests Mohawk leader Joseph Brant/Thayendanegea would know.

Rachel and Ian are welcomed in Joseph’s home by Joseph (Meegwun Fairbrother) and his wife, Catharine/Ahdohwahgeson (Océane Kitura Bohémier-Tootoo). Joseph’s disturbed that Ian fought with the Continental Army and doesn’t believe he’s worthy of knowing what happened to his clan. Ian pleads for information on Wahionhaweh and her children. Joseph points out the Continental Army burned the village, and it’s Rachel and Catharine who keep the conversation civil. Catharine confirms Ian’s first wife is still alive and here, along with her children. However, Joseph refuses to allow Ian to see them and asks that he leave.

Later, Ian apologizes for putting Rachel through this. It’s obvious this has taken an emotional toll on her, and she confesses she’s worried about his first wife inserting herself into their lives. Ian takes her hand and says just knowing she’s alive is enough. He doesn’t need to see them. It’s time to go home.

Rachel secretly returns to Joseph’s home to beg for Ian to be allowed to see Wahionhaweh and his son. She admits to being jealous and that this will help her determine Ian’s feelings. Rachel explains that no one knows the son is Ian’s and is only revealing it now because it’s so important for Ian to see Wahionhaweh face-to-face.

Joseph agrees and Ian thanks Rachel for arranging this. He wants her and his baby by his side as Emily (Morgan Holmstrom) enters the room. Ian introduces her to Rachel and his son, Swiftest of Lizards (Nikosis Sakihaw Kingfisher), and Rachel and Emily politely greet each other. Ian’s sorry about Kaheroton’s death and Emily confesses she’s had terrible dreams about the war. She dreamed their son was captured by abusive soldiers and forced to fight. Emily asks if Ian can take him home where he’ll be safe, and Rachel agrees.

The boy enters, clutching a puppy, and asks about Ian’s baby’s name. It’s Oggy, for now. Swiftest of Lizards gives Oggy the puppy…a grandson of Rollo! Ian holds the puppy, all smiles, and it’s obvious he can’t believe this fluffball’s related to his beloved dog.  Ian’s son has been told that he’s going with his dad, and Rachel assures Emily that she will love him as her own.

Emily asks to name Ian and Rachel’s son, and she calls him Hunter—unaware that was Rachel’s maiden name. Rachel believes Emily is led by the Spirit. (It’s a beautiful, full-circle moment for Young Ian Murray.)

Rachel and Ian have a quiet moment to profess their undying love for each other.

Outlander Season 8 Episode 6 Recap

Roger Has an Epiphany and William’s In Trouble

Bree (Sophie Skelton) reads the letter that Roger (Richard Rankin) wrote before battle, and it confuses her. Roger admits he’s feeling a renewed conviction and understood he couldn’t leave the men while they were fighting for their lives. Bree doesn’t want to hear about his brush with death, but Roger needs to tell her. He describes the cannon blast that blew him off his feet and how it made him flashback to the day his mother was killed. He recalls his mother tossing him away from a collapsing shelter and his father catching him, which shouldn’t have been possible unless he saved his father by sending him through the stones. And that leads Roger to believe this is how it was supposed to be; they didn’t change God’s plan.

Roger’s certain that he needs to be ordained and do God’s work. Bree is fully supportive and the couple shares a romantic, unrushed moment together.

Over at the rebel camp, Ben (Alex Bhat) is still rubbing his chin as he admits he deserved to be punched. William (Charles Vandervaart) looks through a pile of notes and can’t believe Ben’s taken on a new name, General Ralph Blecker, and is a traitor working with the Continental Army. William is shocked he’d make his family believe he’s dead, and Ben asks which is worse—traitor or an honorable death? Ben reveals that Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense” changed his mind and he switched sides while being held prisoner.

William asks about his wife and child, and Ben confesses she’s the one who suggested that he died. William feels betrayed by both Ben and Amaranthus, and Ben’s concerned that William’s gotten close to his wife. Now it’s Ben’s turn to throw punches and men rush in to pull William away. Ben orders William to be taken to the guard house, labeling him a traitor.

Dr. Denzell Hunter (Joey Phillips) checks on William and pretends he needs to give William an enema, which makes the guard, Private Chesley, uncomfortable. Private Chesley barely hesitates before leaving to fetch warm water for Denzell.

After he leaves, Denzell explains he intends to say William has smallpox and needs to be placed in quarantine. Then, William will “die.” William is fine with the plan and hopes he’ll reunite with Denzell after the war.

Roger and Bree return to Fergus’ place and Fergus (Cesar Domboy) passes on a message from Francis Marion. Marion’s changed his mind about providing guns to Jamie’s militia after Roger helped in the battle. (His letter mentions he still doesn’t trust Jamie.)

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 Episode 7 Recap: A Call Across Time

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 Episode 7 Recap
Kurt Russell in ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ season 2 episode 7 (Photo Credit: Apple TV)

Apple TV’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season two, episode seven begins in Axis Mundi back in 1962. Lee Shaw (Wyatt Russell) and his Operation Hourglass crew have landed in this strange world, and Lee recalls telling Hiroshi he’d be home soon. It’s obvious he no longer believes that. On day six, he calls mission control and says, “Mission Day, Foxtrot. Transmitting in the blind. Buried Burke today.” He informs them he’s going to look for higher ground, hoping to get a better signal.

(The following is a recap of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season two, episode seven, “String Theory,” and there are spoilers.)

Mission Day: Oscar, Day 15 – His rations are gone and he heads out to catch his dinner. Lee’s alone now and wakes when the radio crackles. He hears two men talking and responds, “Control, do you read me? Over.” He asks who he’s talking to, and the person does the same, asking who he’s speaking with. Young Lee says his full name and reports that his crew is dead. He asks for an extraction.

The older Lee (Kurt Russell) looks at the radio in disbelief. Dr. Suzuki (Leo Ashizawa) explains that the device was sending a signal to bounce off a Titan. Instead, it picked up the Operation Hourglass frequency. Lee doesn’t know how to respond to his younger self, and the younger Lee asks to speak with Bill Randa. Older Lee assures him they’ll get in touch with Bill and they’re working to get him home. He guarantees his younger self that he will come home.

Older Lee asks if he’s seen any MUTO activity. Young Lee reports that one killed his crew, and he’s seen a huge centipede. Older Lee specifically asks if he’s seen Godzilla, and Young Lee hasn’t. Older Lee remembers Godzilla wasn’t there then, but Titan X was. Maybe they can put a tracker on Titan X, and Suzuki remembers there’s a radio in the entry vehicle. He sends his younger self back to the vehicle.

Young Lee is excited to speak with Suzuki, and Suzuki walks him through how to make a tracker. Young Lee understands a Titan has to open a rift for him to go home, but he doesn’t understand why he needs to put a tracker on it. It’s risky. Older Lee reminds him that the whole mission is a risk, and he needs to follow orders.

Young Lee finally asks Older Lee for his name, and Older Lee replies to call him Colonel. He describes himself as part of a team cleaning up this mess. The talk turns personal as they discuss their lives, with Older Lee not mentioning any names. Suddenly, Young Lee sees something and smells an electrical fire. Older Lee screams at him to run!

Young Lee barely avoids being zapped but is okay. He’s shocked when he sees an encampment and Older Lee orders him to stay away from it. Young Lee doesn’t listen and finds equipment belonging to Keiko. He yells her name as Older Lee tells him to slow down.

Older Lee confesses he’s not telling Young Lee the truth, but that doesn’t matter. Older Lee tells him protecting Keiko is the only thing that matters. Young Lee finally realizes who he’s talking to and panics, thinking this is in his head. They discuss their feelings for Keiko, and Older Lee says the scar Keiko left was the most painful.

Young Lee stops paying attention and insists Keiko told him in “another lifetime, in another world” they could be together. This is that opportunity. Older Lee pleads with him to stop but he won’t.

Suzuki warns Older Lee that if he allows his younger self to go to Keiko now, he could be changing everyone’s future. Young Lee asks for one good reason why he shouldn’t go to Keiko who he sees not far away.

Older Lee warns Young Lee that if he goes to her now, he could stop her from being saved later. He assures Young Lee that he will rescue her, but not for a while. Older Lee talks about Hiro’s kids and that bringing Keiko out early might change their lives. They need to let her go to save her. He tells his younger self to do nothing but watch.

Young Lee looks at Keiko longingly but doesn’t go to her. He keeps following his older self’s instructions and sees a land mass that looks like a wasp’s nest from hell. A monster appears overhead and another emerges from the ground. Fortunately, the flying monster is after the ground-dwelling one and not him.

Young Lee makes it to the landmass, and Older Lee tells him to break through the rocks. The Titan will be on the other side. Young Lee begins hammering into the wall, hoping it doesn’t wake up the Titan. He sees the skin and jams the tracking device into it.

When he does, Suzuki’s device activates and they can now track Titan X.

Young Lee runs away as the Titan wakes up. Older Lee tells him to return to the entry vehicle and go to the forked tree there. Bill’s dragon will come for him there. When the rift opens, he needs to ride it out.

Older Lee tells him not to forget he’s a good man.

Suzuki confirms Titan X is heading to Australia and he wants to go with Lee. But Lee insists it’s a one-man job. Suzuki realizes Lee doesn’t think he’ll make it out alive.

Keiko (Mari Yamamoto) and Cate (Anna Sawai) listen to the Titan’s song. Cate’s worried that she’s projecting her feelings onto Titan X, and maybe it’s not indicating that it’s lost. Keiko assures her she’s right; Titan X is lost. Cate might be the key to sending it back to Axis Mundi.

Titan X seems to be moving away, and Keiko recalls an island that Bill thought was cursed. A legend spoke about a woman possessed by a demon, and the drawing looks like Titan X. The possessed woman said the demon’s voice was deep, and Bill believed she was speaking of a Titan. Keiko thinks they need to speak with the islanders. They might be able to get to Titan X before Lee destroys it.

Cate and Keiko visit the island and walk through a graveyard, coming upon the spot where the woman felt the vibrations. Cate finds a well and can hear the Titan’s call. She insists on going down there, despite Keiko’s misgivings.

Keiko is slowly lowering Cate down when the rope snaps and Cate falls. She lands in the water but can stand up. Cate hears the Titan’s song and quickly assures Keiko she’s okay. She sees a tunnel that leads to the ocean and follows it. A series of tunnels leads her back to Keiko. Cate doesn’t think the Titan is lost or dangerous; it just needs their help.

Thailand and Titan X Tracking

May (Kiersey Clemons) shows up at Kentaro’s as he’s packing for a trip to Thailand. It’s awkward between them after Kentaro (Ren Watabe) tried to kiss the previous evening. He won’t say who he’s going with or why and is super rude, insisting he’s tired of being told what to do.

May’s leaving Kentaro’s apartment when two men force her to go with them.

Once Kentaro lands in Thailand, Isabel (Amber Midthunder) shows him around the huge house her father gave her. She claims she’s not involved in her father’s work. She also insists she hates Apex as much as he hates Monarch, and she wants to create a new world with Kentaro’s help.

Kentaro wants to head home early, and Isabel reveals she’s going to use the two-hour car ride to the airport to get him to stay. Monarch, Apex, and the government have failed to keep them safe, and she believes it’s possible to live in a world where there wasn’t a G-Day. Kentaro thinks this is crazy talk, and she won’t tell him more unless he promises to help her.

The action shifts to Outpost 18 in the South Pacific Ocean where May’s been taken. Tim (Joe Tippett) forced her to return, and he insists she has no idea what’s happening right now. Tim’s upset she was actively participating in helping Brenda Holland. He doesn’t want Titan X to kill anyone else, and all they have to go on now is a piece of it with Apex’s tracker embedded. Tim thinks May’s device threw Titan X off its migratory route, and she places the blame firmly on Apex.

Apparently, CEO Walter Simmons claims this operation took place without his knowledge and pledges to fully cooperate with Monarch. And May might be the only one who can help them figure out what happened.

Tim and May suit up and begin diving into the tech.

Later, Outpost 18 picks up a new signal from the first Hourglass entry vehicle to make it to Axis Mundi. The signal is live, which makes no sense to Tim since the pod was destroyed on Skull Island. (He has no idea this is thanks to Lee and Suzuki.) The speed indicates it’s definitely Titan X, but they don’t know what it’s doing.

The scene switches to Titan X as he’s emerging from the ocean onto land.

Oscar nominee Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin) has boarded Netflix’s series adaptation of Liz Moore’s bestselling novel, The God of the Woods. Condon joins Maya Hawke (Stranger Things), who was previously announced to star.

Author Liz Moore and Liz Hannah (The Girl From Plainville) are adapting Moore’s novel and will serve as executive producers and co-showrunners. “We love making TV and can’t wait to bring The God of the Woods to life with our partners at Sony and Netflix,” stated Moore and Hannah in an interview with Tudum. “We hope everyone falls in love (and hate) with these characters as much as we have.”

Additional executive producers include Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty.

Netflix offers this description of the new series:

The God of the Woods is a multi-generational drama series set in the Adirondacks, exploring the Van Laar family’s dark secrets, class tensions, and the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of 13-year-old Barbara Van Laar from her family’s summer camp—in the wake of an earlier family tragedy that may be related. As the past and present collide, the Van Laars’ wealth and influence unravel, revealing the damaging consequences of privilege and the abuse of power.”

Condon will play Alice Van Laar, described by Netflix: “Hardened by the grief of a past family tragedy and trapped in a contemptuous marriage, Alice is forced to face the unimaginable when her 13-year-old daughter goes missing.”

Condon’s credits include F1, Train Dreams, Night Swim, and In the Land of Saints and Sinners. Condon recently wrapped up work on Pressure, based on David Haig’s stage play, co-starring Brendan Fraser and Andrew Scott.

Steve Carell and HBO have a hit on their hands with Rooster. Four episodes into the 10-episode season, the series has been renewed for season two after averaging 5.8 million viewers. Rooster‘s posting ratings that have it on track to be HBO’s most watched new comedy in 10+ years.

In addition to Steve Carell, season one stars Charly Clive, Danielle Deadwyler, Phil Dunster, John C. McGinley, and Lauren Tsai. Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses created the series and serve as co-showrunners.

“We are so grateful to Warner Bros. Television and HBO for being such great partners and to Casey [Bloys], Amy [Gravitt], and Channing [Dungey] for giving us the opportunity to keep making this show with Steve and our amazing cast,” stated Bill Lawrence, co-showrunner, executive producer, and writer. “It’s been a career highlight for both of us, but more for Matt than me.”

New episodes air on Sundays at 10pm ET/PT.

Commenting on the renewal, Amy Gravitt, EVP, HBO Programming, Head of HBO & HBO Max Comedy Series, said, “It’s been heartening to feel the audience embrace Rooster, as we did when we first saw Steve, Bill, and Matt bring this character to life. Along with our partners at WBTV and Doozer, we’re looking forward to seeing what Ludlow’s Spring Semester has in store for this incredible comedy ensemble.”

Executive producers include Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Matt Tarses, Jonathan Krisel, Barbie Adler, Annie Mebane, David Stassen, Anthony King, David Hyman, and Steve Carell.

Rooster is a heartfelt, endearing series, and its second-season renewal is richly deserved. Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses are masters of their craft, bringing their signature heart and humor to life through an incredible cast led by Steve Carell. We’re thrilled to continue this creative journey with HBO and Doozer,” said Clancy Collins White, President, Creative Affairs, Warner Bros. Television.

Season one premiered on March 8, 2026 and currently sits at 88% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.”

Fire Country Description, Courtesy of CBS:

Fire Country stars Max Thieriot (SEAL TEAM) as Bode Leone, a young convict who sought redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in Northern California, where he and other inmates were partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region. It’s a high-risk, high-reward assignment, and the heat is turned up when Bode was assigned to the program in his rural hometown, where he was once a golden all-American son until his troubles began.

Years ago, Bode burned down everything in his life, leaving town with a big secret. Now he’s back, with the rap sheet of a criminal and the audacity to believe in a chance for redemption with Cal Fire.
