Oscar nominee Diane Lane will star opposite Oscar nominee Liam Neeson in Felt, a spy thriller set up with MadRiver Pictures, Scott Free Productions, Playtone, and Cara Films. Peter Landesman wrote the script and is directing the thriller. Landesman will also produce along with Ridley Scott, Gary Goetzman, Tom Hanks, Giannina Scott, Marc Butan, Christopher Woodrow, and Jay Roach.
Felt will start shooting next March.
The Felt Plot:
Felt is a taut spy thriller, centering on “Deep Throat”, the pseudonym given to the notorious whistleblower for one of the greatest scandals of all time, Watergate. The true identity of the secret informant remained a mystery and source of much public curiosity and speculation for more than 30 years. That is until, in 2005, special agent Mark Felt (Neeson) shockingly revealed himself as the tipster. This unbelievable true story chronicles the personal and professional life of the brilliant and uncompromising Felt, who risked and ultimately sacrificed everything – his family, his career, his freedom – in the name of justice.
Lane (soon to be seen in the dramatic film Trumbo) will play Mark Felt’s brilliant, ambitious and troubled wife, Audrey, who shoulders the burden of Felt’s isolated and dangerous struggle against the White House.

Gerard Butler stars in the action film ‘ London Has Fallen’
Gramercy Pictures is releasing the Olympus Has Fallen sequel, London Has Fallen, in 2016 and while we’re still months away from checking out the film in theaters, the first official trailer provides a pretty extensive look at what we can expect. The action drama once again stars Gerard Butler as a Secret Service agent assigned to protect the President (Aaron Eckhart). The cast also includes Morgan Freeman, Alon Moni Aboutboul, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Jackie Earle Haley, Melissa Leo, Radha Mitchell, Sean O’Bryan, Charlotte Riley and Waleed Zuaiter. Babak Najafi directed from a script by Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt and Christian Gudegast and Chad St. John.
London Has Fallen opens on March 4, 2016.
The London Has Fallen Plot:
The sequel to the worldwide smash hit Olympus Has Fallen, a non-stop, suspenseful action thriller that delivers high-octane excitement through a heightened sense of authenticity. The visceral intensity springs from a timely premise: after the British Prime Minister passes away, his funeral becomes a target of a terrorist organization to destroy some of the world’s most powerful leaders, devastate the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. The only hope of stopping it rests on the shoulders of the President of the United States (Aaron Eckhart) and his formidable Secret Service head (Gerard Butler), and an English MI-6 agent (Charlotte Riley) who rightly trusts no one. Morgan Freeman also stars as the Vice President of the United States.
The Weinstein Company’s The Hateful Eight has been in the news recently because the film’s writer and director Quentin Tarantino caused quite a controversy with his remarks about police officers. TWC is either striking while the iron is hot or just trying to change the conversation by releasing the full trailer for the Western drama.
The Hateful Eight will be released on December 25, 2015 in limited theaters, followed by an expanded release on January 8, 2016. The ensemble cast includes Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Demian Bichir, and Channing Tatum.
The Hateful Eight Plot:
In The Hateful Eight, set six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as “The Hangman,” will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson), a Black former Union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Walton Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff.
Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren, and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie’s, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Demian Bichir), who’s taking care of Minnie’s while she’s visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Tim Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Michael Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Bruce Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all…
