Alan Cumming Hosts Oxygen’s True Crime Series ‘The Killer Among Us’

The TraitorsAlan Cumming hosts Oxygen’s The Killer Among Us, a new true crime series premiering on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 7pm ET/PT. The series spotlights murders that take place in tight-knit communities and includes an episode about the murder of a Sarasota gallery owner who’s found posed like a sculpture.

Cumming serves as a producer, with Zak Weisfeld, Libby Richman, and Brian DeCubelli executive producing.

“Throughout the season, Cumming takes viewers down the duplicitous road of devious, double-crossing, and deadly stories of those slain by a member of their own circle. The series is a real-life ‘whodunnit’ that delves straight into the heart of communities where the unthinkable has happened, and no one knows why — or who is responsible,” reads Oxygen’s synopsis. “From small rural towns to an academic research lab to high-end art organizations, The Killer Among Us takes viewers across the country to examine communities once thick as thieves uprooted by tragedy.”

  • When a bride-to-be enters a Yale University building to do research and vanishes, everyone within the ivy-clad walls becomes a possible suspect.
  • A University of Kentucky football standout celebrates his 21st birthday when a gunshot cuts through the night and strikes him dead.
  • At New York’s Metropolitan Opera, a violinist is murdered during intermission, leaving everyone in front of and behind the curtain under suspicion.

AMC+ and Shudder released this synopsis:

“Dan Stevens, who also serves as executive producer, stars as Pepper—a working-class moving man who, through a combination of bad luck and a bad temper, finds himself wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital—an institution filled with those society would rather forget. There, he must contend with patients working against him, doctors harboring grim secrets, and perhaps even the Devil himself. As Pepper navigates a hellscape where nothing is as it seems, he finds that the only path to freedom is to face the entity which thrives on the suffering within New Hyde’s walls—but doing so may prove that the worst demons of all live inside him.”

Ghosts Series Description, Courtesy of CBS:

Ghosts is a single-camera comedy about Samantha and Jay, a cheerful freelance journalist and chef from the city, respectively, who threw both caution and money to the wind when they decided to convert Woodstone Mansion, which Sam inherited, into a bed & breakfast—only to find it was inhabited by the many spirits of deceased residents who now call it home.

The departed souls are a close-knit, eclectic group that includes a saucy Prohibition-era lounge singer (Pinnock); a pompous 18th-century militiaman (Scott Jones); a ‘60s hippie fond of hallucinogens (Carrasco); an overly upbeat ‘80s scout troop leader (Moriarty); a cod-obsessed Viking explorer from 1009 (Chandler Long); a slick ‘90s finance bro (Grodman); a sarcastic and witty native from the 16th century (Zaragoza); and a society woman and wife of a 19th-century robber baron who is Sam’s ancestor (Wisocky), to name a few.

The opening of the B&B and Jay’s new restaurant are a source of intrigue, anxiety, and curiosity among the spirits, but they will gladly put up with the commotion as long as they can continue to interact with a living inhabitant.

Netflix and Alan Ritchson (War Machine) are developing a new survival competition series set in the wilderness. The untitled series has reality series veteran Jay Bienstock (Survivor, The Apprentice) on board as executive producer and showrunner.

Ritchson is also involved as an executive producer and will guide participants through the survival competition.

Netflix’s announcement revealed the series will feature high-profile influencers as well as headline makers. “With all the comforts and luxuries of modern-day life stripped away, the players will have to rely on their instincts, determination, and each other to outlast the competition and discover who they are without fame and followers,” reads Netflix’s series description. “Do they have what it truly takes to endure? Will they risk losing their carefully curated personas in the process? And who will break first under the pressure?”

Additional executive producers include Julie Pizzi, Rupert Dobson, and Gayani Wanigaratne.

Alan Ritchson’s recent credits include Playdate, Reacher, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and Titans.
