Kid Rock 2013 US Summer Tour Dates

Kid Rock Rebel Soul

Kid Rock fans are going to be getting a heck of a deal on concert tickets this summer. Kid Rock has just announced that his “$20 Best Night Ever” U.S. summer tour will in fact have $20 tickets. The affordable tickets will be available in all sections (reserved seats and lawn), and in addition to the concert ticket prices Kid Rock’s offering lowered prices on “everything from parking to beer to merchandise for every show in every city.”

And Kid Rock, who will be touring in support of his 10th album Rebel Soul, announced the first two rows at every show will be awarded as upgrades to lucky fans selected at random.

Kid Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker Band will kick off the summer tour in Bristow, Virginia on June 28th. Kool & The Gang, ZZ Top, and Uncle Kracker will provide support on some of the scheduled tour dates.

Tickets go on sale at LiveNation.com on April 12th.

“Everyone knows the economy is still hurting people across the country, but I didn’t want that to be a reason why everyone couldn’t get out and enjoy themselves on a summer night,” explained Kid Rock. “So we’re going to throw the biggest and best party ever, with prices across the board that are reasonable and transparent. No hidden fees, no gimmicks. We’re not sparing any expense on this tour, we’re going over the top as always, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to ask the fans to pay more.

If this works we’re going to play to packed houses of fans who appreciate what we’re doing. If it doesn’t, might be a long summer. But someone has to go out there and fight these high prices and change things up, and I’m lucky enough that I can afford to take a pay cut. $20. Best night ever.”

Author Cassandra Clare Interview on ‘The Mortal Instruments’

Author Cassandra Clare joined the stars of the film adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones at the 2013 WonderCon in Anaheim to talk about bringing the bestselling young adult book series to the big screen. On hand to answer questions from fans at the event were actors Lily Collins (‘Clary’), Jamie Campbell Bower (‘Jace’), and Kevin Zegers (‘Alec’), and a brand new trailer was debuted to the packed/enthusiastic WonderCon audience (it’s now available online here).

In addition to chatting with fans, Clare talked to us about agreeing to have her books made into a film series, what the filmmakers were absolutely not allowed to alter when they adapted her stories, and how she feels about seeing Lily Collins take on the role of Clary and Jamie Campbell Bower handle the role of Jace.

The Plot:

Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures. Based on the worldwide best-selling book series.

Can we start a campaign now to get Peter Dinklage signed up to host Saturday Night Live? Just imagining the variety of Game of Thrones skits that episode would offer up is enough to make us want launch an online ‘Dinklage for Host’ petition. And the reason why I’m talking about Dinklage and SNL now is because of his surprise appearance on the April 6, 2013 episode hosted by Melissa McCarthy. ‘Peter Drunklage’ was easily one of the night’s best skits.

Mad Men Season 6 Trailer

Are you ready for the return of AMC’s Mad Men? The show premieres its sixth season with a two-hour episode airing tonight on AMC and to get you in the mood, the network’s unleashed this new trailer showing off what we can expect from Mad Men‘s upcoming much-anticipated return.

The Very Basics:

Set in 1960s New York, the sexy, stylized and provocative AMC drama Mad Men follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising, an ego-driven world where key players make an art of the sell.

The series revolves around the conflicted world of Don Draper (Jon Hamm), the biggest ad man (and ladies man) in the business, and his colleagues at the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce Advertising Agency. As Don makes the plays in the boardroom and the bedroom, he struggles to stay a step ahead of the rapidly changing times and the young executives nipping at his heels. The series also depicts authentically the roles of men and women in this era while exploring the true human nature beneath the guise of 1960s traditional family values.

Music Spotlight: Lavender Diamond’s “I Don’t Recall” Video

Actress Jena Malone (Sucker Punch, Into the Wild) makes her directorial debut with Lavender Diamond’s “I Don’t Recall” music video. It’s a simple yet effective video that allows the music to retain the spotlight while still telling a compelling story visually.

In an interview with MTV, Malone explained why she felt now was the right time to direct and why she connected with Lavender Diamond’s Becky Stark. “She is such a pure light and is able to transmit that into song in a honest and transformational way,” said Malone. “We have collaborated on many stories and ideas for projects together, but I think this one was just the first that was solidified into existence. I heard her new album, Incorruptible Heart, and just fell in love. I had the song ‘I Don’t Recall’ on repeat for days. And the song jarred in me a story I felt I needed to tell.”
