HBO’s Veep is returning for season two, debuting the first of 10 brand new episodes on April 14, 2013 at 10pm. Emmy Award-winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus leads the cast of the critically acclaimed comedy series created by Armando Iannucci and co-starring Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Reid Scott, Matt Walsh, and Timothy C. Simons.

And as the second season premiere approaches, HBO has revealed the details for season two and an April 2013 episode guide.

The Plot:

With midterm elections looming, Vice President Selina Meyer is scoring higher ratings than the president in several popularity polls, which she hopes will boost her influence and help her curry favor with the chief executive. But as she knows all too well, even the most banal action can set off a ripple effect that has unexpected, far-reaching – and often disastrous – consequences.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays Selina Meyer who becomes vice president, only to discover the job is nothing like she expected, but everything she was warned about.

Veep follows the whirlwind day-to-day existence of Vice President Meyer as she puts out political fires, juggles a busy public schedule and demanding private life, and defends the president’s interests, even as she tries to improve her dysfunctional relationship with the chief executive.

Ender's Game Theatrical Poster

Summit Entertainment’s unveiled this new teaser poster for their sci-fi action film, Ender’s Game, directed by Gavin Hood. Coming to theaters on November 1, 2013, Ender’s Game stars Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, Abigail Breslin, and Harrison Ford.

In the near future, a hostile alien race called the Formics have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham (Kingsley), all would have been lost. Ender Wiggin (Butterfield), a shy but strategically brilliant boy, is recruited to join the elite. Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult challenges and simulations, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers.

The Voice coaches came together to kick off season four of the popular singing competition show with a performance of The Beatles’ “Come Together.” Adam Levine and Blake Shelton returned to the revolving chairs as coaches for the fourth season in a row, while Usher and Shakira joined the cast of the series with the season four debut on March 25, 2013.

Usher and Shakira take over chairs vacated by Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green who are taking a break from the series to concentrate on their music.

And while NBC as a network has had a horrible 2012-2013 ratings-wise, The Voice returned to impressive numbers. The change-up in coaches didn’t adversely affect the audience numbers, with the March 25th premiere actually up 12% over season three’s fall premiere. According to the preliminary estimates, 13.36 million viewers tuned in to watch the two-hour season premiere.

The red leather motorcycle jacket Ryan Gosling wore in the independent dramatic movie The Place Beyond the Pines is going up for auction. Proceeds from the sale of the jacket will go to benefit Variety – The Children’s Charity of Southern California.

The auction opens online on March 29, 2013 at Profiles in History, the same day as The Place Beyond the Pines begins its theatrical run. The jacket is currently on display at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood and will remain there through April 5th. The auction ends on April 8th.

Commenting on the auction, Elizabeth O’Neil, Executive Director of Variety – The Children’s Charity of Southern California, stated: “Our charity is proud to continue its longstanding association with Focus Features, which has allowed movie fans to own pieces of cinema history from so many fine films while contributing greatly appreciated extra funds to children in need.”

Details on the Jacket:

“The jacket is a Firstgear red leather motorcycle jacket with snap pockets at the front, black corduroy at the collar, zipper vents at both front and back with black leather in the vent, elastic at both cuffs and bottom, and zips to close. The lining from the auction item has been removed because of wear from extensive location filming of sequences in which Luke rides on his motorcycle.”

The highly anticipated new drama from director Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine) powerfully explores the consequences of motorcycle rider Luke’s (Ryan Gosling) fateful decision to commit a crime to support his child. The incident renders him targeted by policeman Avery (Bradley Cooper), and the two men become locked on a tense collision course which will have a devastating impact on both of their families in the years following.
