Starz is showing off a new featurette from Da Vinci’s Demons, the upcoming series debuting on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 10pm. Creator/executive producer David S. Goyer and the cast talk about the dramatic thriller that Goyer shows Da Vinci as “one-third Indiana Jones, one-third Sherlock Holmes, and one-third Tony Stark.”
The Plot:
Tom Riley brings Leonard da Vinci to life in Da Vinci’s Demons, a historical fantasy following the ‘untold’ story of the world’s greatest genius during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. Brilliant and passionate, the twenty-five-year-old Leonardo da Vinci is an artist, inventor, swordsman, lover, dreamer and idealist.
As a free thinker, with intellect and talents that are almost superhuman, he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality and time. He begins to not only see the future, but invent it.
Daren Kagasoff in 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager'
ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager returns on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 8pm and in support of the show’s spring premiere, Daren Kagasoff (‘Ricky’) answered a few questions on what fans can expect in upcoming episodes. Although he didn’t want to give away any major spoilers, Kagasoff did drop a hint or two in a conference call with journalists.
“Many questions will get answered, that’s all pretty much I can say. I know everybody wants Amy and Ricky to end up together, and I guess you guys will see if that happens…”
Daren Kagasoff The Secret Life of the American Teenager Conference Call:
What is the hardest challenge you faced during your time on the show?
Daren Kagasoff: “We would get the episodes probably the night before we would have to shoot and it would take seven days, so I guess getting the dialogue down was one of the most challenging things. But the writers were so good at doing their job and writing good scripts, so it actually got easier as the seasons progress. But I think that was the most challenging.”
What is your fondest memory from the show?
Daren Kagasoff: “Probably the last day of shooting. We shot a lot of intense scenes, and to wrap up the show the way we did … I’ll never forget it. And all of the people that were there that day, you just don’t forget those types of moments. And thankfully, I’m going to have that for the rest of my life, so probably the last day of shooting.”
Are you happy with the way the series ended for you and for what the outcome is for Ricky?
Daren Kagasoff: “Very happy, very happy. I think the fans will be happy too.”
You’ve had some great guest stars so far in the show. Can we expect any new faces this season?
Daren Kagasoff: “A couple. They’re definitely coming in and out as far as new relationships that occur this next season. I can’t really say who, but there’s definitely going to be some familiar faces that you’ve seen from other projects.”
Do you respect the way that Ricky has turned out and are you happy with who he is?
Daren Kagasoff: “Most definitely. In the beginning, when Secret Life first started, Ricky was just a high school kid that didn’t really take any responsibility for his actions and was just was kind of floating through life. And ever since he had John with Amy things changed drastically, and I think he made the most positive decisions in his life to put his son first and his girlfriend first priority. So I’m very pleased with what the writers did with my character from the beginning to the end. I think he’s made a full circle and it was a pleasure to play, and hopefully the fans will like to see that.”
Can you talk about what has been your favorite episode from the series?
Daren Kagasoff: “Yes, I know I’ve been asked that question before and I said the day I won valedictorian of my class and I had to learn all these lines – it must have been a nine page monologue – and that was the most challenging because I had to talk to about 200 people that were sitting out in the audience. And it was just daunting, and I got through it and I got through it well, and that was probably one of my most memorable scenes.”
With the series coming to an end, what do you think you’ll miss most about your time on the show?
Daren Kagasoff: “Probably everybody that I worked with, the crew, the cast, the producers, everybody because we were doing it for so long. We shot around, I don’t even know the exact number, I want to say 120-something episodes, so when you’re around these people for so long, you form relationships, you form friendships. I mean, that’s what I’m going to miss the most, is just missing my cast and being able to talk and be open with them because these are your best friends.”
Do you have a favorite moment or behind-the-scenes memory from the series you can share with our readers?
Daren Kagasoff: “Yes. The boys on the show, Greg Finley and Ken Baumann, we all became really close and a lot of times interviewers would come on to the set and they’d go behind the scenes and show them the trailers or the sets. Kenny was most known for always screwing with me during all these interviews, because he’s way more intellectual than I and Greg are, so he would just screw with us in the interviews. I couldn’t really tell you what it is, because they’re pretty terrible pranks, but I would be basically blushing throughout the entire interview because I was so embarrassed.”
The cast has gone through so many changes in their real lives, how has the show changed you since you started?
Daren Kagasoff: “Well, I never knew I wanted to be an actor until maybe six months before I got the job, so it just has taught me you’ve got to work so hard for the things that you want in life, and things don’t come easy. And you can see it through the characters that were on Secret Life, whether certain things that happened in their lives they have to conquer and overcome. And as people, as myself speaking about me, there’s a lot of obstacles in this business and in life in general, so from the show I just got keep your head up high, work hard, be respectful, polite, and good things will come.”
What’s the hardest part in balancing Ricky’s bad boy past and his role as a father on the show, and how does that affect you and influence your opinions of real life parenting?
Daren Kagasoff: “As far as Ricky, I think he completely changed. He was a bad boy, he will always have that toughness about him, but he was sensitive guy that always wanted to do the right things and he really was looking out for Amy and her best interests and John’s best interest. So looking at it from an outside perspective that’s what I think, say you do get pregnant at a young age, those are the kinds of things that I would expect from the father of the child. Thank goodness I’m not a parent right now, let’s just say that.”
With the series coming to an end, what’s next for you?
Daren Kagasoff: “I’m going to be working on this pilot, it’s called Delirium. It’s for the FOX Network. We don’t know if it’s picked up yet. We haven’t even started shooting. But we start very, very soon, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the cast, and that’s basically all I can say.”

This restricted (not safe for work) trailer shows off much more of the action from the thriller Dead Man Down starring Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace, and Terrence Howard. Violence is front and center, earning the trailer it’s restricted rating, as Farrell and Rapace seek revenge in Dead Man Down.
The Plot:
Dead Man Down is an action thriller that stars Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace as two strangers whose mutual desire for revenge draws them together and triggers an escalating trail of mayhem. The film, which also stars Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard and Dominic Cooper, marks the American theatrical debut of director Niels Arden Oplev (the original The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo).
Justin Timberlake’s hosting the March 9, 2013 episode of NBC’s Saturday Night Live – marking his fifth time as host – and he’ll also be handling musical guest duties. But that’s not all the sometimes-actor/musician will be doing on SNL. As we see in this promotional video for Timberlake’s upcoming appearance, he’ll also be busy behind the scenes.
Jon Stewart - Photo by Kevin Fitzsimons/Comedy CentralJon Stewart’s going to be taking a break from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart this summer and will be tackling his first film as producer and director. But The Daily Show fans won’t be left wondering how to fill their time while Stewart’s gone. Comedy Central says the show will go on with John Oliver stepping in to host during Stewart’s absence.
Stewart will leave the show for eight weeks starting in June in order to tackle Rosewater. Here’s the scoop on Rosewater, courtesy of Comedy Central:
Rosewater, a journalist’s story of his entry into the family business – government imprisonment and political incarceration in Iran – was written by Stewart and is based on the book, Then They Came for Me: A Family’s Story of Love, Captivity, and Survival by Iranian journalist Maziar Bahari. Bahari was falsely accused of being a spy and imprisoned by the Iranian government shortly after being interviewed by Daily Show correspondent Jason Jones in 2009 when he travelled to Iran to file a series of reports for the show. Bahari later appeared as a guest on The Daily Show in June 2011.”
Oliver’s been with The Daily Show since 2006 and is an Emmy and Writers Guild Awards nominee.

Hell has apparently frozen over. A Twilight movie was released last year and it did not top the list of MTV Movie Awards nominees. The final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part 2, earned just one – yes, one – nomination which was still one too many. The MTV Movie Awards is often jokingly referred to as the ‘Twilight Awards’, however, the last film of the sparkling vampire series is going out with an MTV Movie Awards whimper rather than a roar.
Instead, sitting on top of the list of nominees are the much more deserving Django Unchained and Ted followed closely by Silver Linings Playbook and The Dark Knight Rises.
The awards will be hosted this year by Rebel Wilson and will take place on Sunday, April 14, 2013. And in addition to the award categories, Will Ferrell is set to pick up the first-ever Comic Genius Award.
Voting is open now at MovieAwards.MTV.com and runs through Saturday, April 13th.

Abed, Troy, Annie, Britta, Chang, Jeff, Pierce, Shirley in 'Community' (Photo by: Justin Lubin/NBC)As long as they are not marionettes, I’m fine with this idea. Hand puppets are okay, but marionettes freak me out. Fortunately, the Community characters are definitely turning into felt and foam puppets for an April episode of the NBC comedy series.
The network also revealed that Jason Alexander will be guest starring on the episode as a friendly mountain man.
Details on the Puppets Episode:
As the study group recounts their adventures in the woods, which has left them all feeling a little awkward with one another, Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) encourages them to speak about their experience with the use of puppets. The puppets include characters Jeff (Joel McHale), Pierce (Chevy Chase), Britta (Gillian Jacobs), Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown), Abed (Danny Pudi), Annie (Alison Brie), Troy (Donald Glover) and Chang (Ken Jeong).
This is Brooke Shields as you’ve never seen her before. In Funny or Die’s latest made-up movie trailer, Shields plays a woman who is ready to start over but can’t settle on exactly what that means.
And just a heads up: the language makes it unsafe for work.
