Sorry, but I have no idea what a Jerseylicious is and until Style Media announced it would be back, I hadn’t the slightest idea that it existed in the first place. However, it does have an audience and a fan base, and Style Media will be delivering more of the ‘docu-soap’ in early 2013.

Endemol USA is producing the 14 episode new season. Season four averaged 508,000 viewers and was Style’s number one show among women 18-49.

The Plot:

The complex, interwoven lives of these sassy stylists will feature new romances, opportunities and plenty of hair-raising drama. For four seasons, Jerseylicious fans have followed the tan-tastic rivalry between makeup artist Olivia and hair stylist Tracy who have fought over anything and everything from guys to friends, clients and clothes. Now, unusual circumstances have made them frenemies as they are involved in a highly-fueled feud with Gigi, who has shed her “good girl” image to be her own person, speaking her mind no matter who it hurts.

Meanwhile, Olivia contemplates returning to Anthony Robert Salon in a new role and using his salon as home base for her new company, which makes Tracy feel threatened – especially since her focus has shifted from her career to planning her new life with fiancé Corey. But her family’s disapproval of her relationship with Corey dampens Tracy’s enthusiasm for her upcoming wedding. As Gayle adjusts to the loss of Olivia at the Gatsby, Anthony, who is finally settled in his new salon space, looks for innovative ways to expand his business, including producing a book that is a retrospective on great moments in New Jersey history as depicted through hair and makeup styles. Also, salon manager Filippo pursues his dream career as an underwear model which could jeopardize his job with Anthony.

‘Sons of Anarchy’ Soundtrack Volume 2 Details

Sons of Anarchy Songs of Anarchy Volume 2

Columbia Records and FX are releasing Sons of Anarchy Songs of Anarchy: Vol. 2 on November 19, 2012 with the album’s first track being a never-before-heard recording of “Sympathy for the Devil” by Jane’s Addiction. And among the 13 tracks on the album is one by series star Katey Sagal who teams up with Sons of Anarchy‘s house band, The Forest Rangers, on “To Sir with Love.”

The Forest Rangers is made up of SOA music composer Bob Thiele, Greg Leisz (guitar/banjo), John Philip Shenale (keyboards), Lyle Workman (guitar), Dave Way (recording Engineer and Sergeant at Arms), Davey Faragher (bass), Brian Macleod (drums), and Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner.

“When Jane’s Addiction said they were into the idea of doing ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ for the show, we were completely blown away. This was made all the more sweet because theirs was the first and only door we knocked on. Jane’s Addiction is one of the few post 60’s/70’s, iconic bands that resonates with our show’s mythology. They have typified rebellion from their very beginnings. It seemed a natural fit between a band and a song with so many layers of meaning to the Sons of Anarchy narrative. I can proudly say that the end product speaks for itself. Working with them, as a band and as individuals, was an incredibly satisfying experience,” stated Thiele.

And for fans of Jane’s Addiction, be sure to check out Dave Navarro as he guest stars in the last two episodes of this season playing “a member of the Byz Lats gang with close ties to Nero (Jimmy Smits).”

Sons of Anarchy: Songs of Anarchy: Vol 2 Track List

1. Sympathy For The Devil – Jane’s Addiction
2. The Lost Boy – Greg Holden
3. The Passenger – Alison Mosshart & The Forest Rangers
4. He Got Away – Noah Gundersen & The Forest Rangers
5. To Sir With Love – Katey Sagal & The Forest Rangers
6. Higher Ground – Franky Perez & The Forest Rangers
7. Lights – Battleme & The Forest Rangers
8. The Unclouded Day – Audra Mae & The Forest Rangers
9. Coal War – Joshua James
10. Time – Battleme & The Forest Rangers
11. Travelin’ Band – Curtis Stigers & The Forest Rangers
12. Family – Noah Gundersen
13. No Milk Today – Joshua James & The Forest Rangers

Sons of Anarchy stars Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman, and Sagal and is in the midst of its best season to date, ratings-wise. Season five has been averaging 6.45 million total viewers and 4.42 million Adults 18-49. The popular – and addictive – series airs on Tuesdays on FX at 10PM ET/PT.

Hobbits, Elves, and Gollum Keep Flyers Safe

You know, if every safety procedures speech and video were as entertaining as this one, passengers might actually listen instead of tuning out. Air New Zealand has teamed up with The Hobbit to deliver an air safety video titled “An Unexpected Briefing” that’s filled with hobbits, elves, Gollum, Legolas, Aragorn (who puts a blowdryer to good use as he channels Viggo Mortensen’s sexiness), and Gandalf.

There’s even a surprise appearance by someone very, very familiar with the Hobbit universe, and descendants of author J.R.R Tolkien are included in the video.

Royd Tolkien, great-grandson of The Hobbit author J.R.R Tolkien, wears prosthetic hairy Hobbit feet for his part in the Air New Zealand video and says, “They’ve done a great job of capturing the essence of The Hobbit films and it was a privilege to be invited to participate.”

Air New Zealand General Manager Marketing and Communications Mike Tod calls the video a “further reflection of the world-class creative talents of New Zealanders.”

“This latest safety video inspired by The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is another example of how New Zealand is a hotbed for creative talent. Our partners at Weta Workshop and Weta Digital, which brought Gollum to life inside the aircraft, have helped us demonstrate again that if you want to engage with audiences in a unique way, our nation has immense creative capability,” stated Mr Tod.

“Sir Peter Jackson and the team at Warner Bros. Pictures in the United States were fantastically supportive during production of the video. To have Gollum step off the movie screen for the first time and into an Air New Zealand aircraft is incredibly special and Sir Peter Jackson delivers a superb cameo. He should come out from behind the camera more often!”

Bram Stoker Writing Desk Up for Auction

Bram Stoker's Writing DeskIt’s where Dracula was born and now it could be yours. Profiles in History will be auctioning off Bram Stoker’s writing desk as part of the Hollywood Auction on December 15 and 16, 2012. According to Profiles in History, Stoker gave the desk to his friend, Yorkshire Post editor JSR Phillips. Phillips and subsequent owners didn’t take good care of the desk, allowing the legs to be sawn short and losing some of the drawers. Stoker’s desk eventually made its way to master furniture artist Mark Brazier-Jones to preserve and restore it.

“Even as a new desk, in its day, this was a modest item of furniture, a place for a man to work, and yet possessing a noble honesty,” stated Brazier-Jones. “I wanted to keep the desk complete and intact, to save all its scars and broken varnish, this history alive with its gnarled textures…I decided to attach, via callipers and clasps the necessaries to regain functionality. To this I have also embroidered imagery appropriate to the great man’s inspirations and imaginings. I visualize Stoker sat pen to paper contemplating a moonlit rose garden, breathless milk white cleavage and blood soaked lace. All the fixtures and fittings I have created are in bronze and burnished steel. He has also leather lined two secret compartments I have devised (the position of which will only be revealed to the final owner of the desk). There is also a bronze ‘treasure chest’ secret compartment carved with a tangled rose vine bas-relief. This, though hidden, can more easily be found and as such may act as a decoy for the other two compartments. The face panel of each drawer is acid etched through to copper and nickel layers. The effect is to subtly represent a misty tableau of Whitby Abbey by moonlight high on the cliff above Whitby Harbour surrounded by gravestones and bats. Over these drawer fronts are five bronze handles, each one different. On the lower left, a bat, to the lower right, a savage hound (in Stoker’s book Dracula arrived in Whitby as a giant dog). The three upper drawers consist of scrolling rose thorns and buds. The interiors are lined in deep buttoned blood red velvet. The baroque rose motif is used again where they seem to crawl up and across the table top frame giving the feeling time has stopped like an overgrown grave.”

The desk and a candelabra designed by Brazier-Jones are expected to sell for $60,000 – $80,000.
