The new trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 debuted during the MTV Video Music Awards, and as teased it does show more of Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward’s new addition to the family. It also provides a glimpse at what happens when the Volturi [boo-hiss] find out about Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella’s baby. Tensions escalate and new vampires are introduced into the mix as the final showdown looms.

And if you’re wondering who showed up at the VMA’s to introduce the clip, Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey and actors Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, and Jackson Rathbone represented the Breaking Dawn Part 2 group.

The Plot:

In The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, the birth of Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward’s (Robert Pattinson) child brings conflict between Bella and her lifelong friend, Jacob (Taylor Lautner), and an all-out war between the Cullens and the Volturi.

Kevin Hart kicked off his debut as host of the MTV Video Music Awards by talking about Snooki’s baby and by addressing Kristen Stewart’s cheating ways. Telling the audience to just leave her alone, he suggested that she and Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders had basically created two new dwarfs: Adultery and Cheating. Anyway…on to the music and awards.

Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, P!nk, and Green Day all delivered the first performances of new songs on stage at the VMAs. And One Direction – the night’s big winner in three categories – Frank Ocean, 2 Chainz and Calvin Harris all made their VMA performance debuts.

The Van Vlahakis biopic A Green Story has been picked up for North American distribution by Indican Pictures and will be released in theaters in April 2013. Written and directed by Nika Agiashvili, the story explores the life of Vlahakis, a “Greek immigrant who arrived in America with only $22 in his pocket and eventually founded the multi-million dollar Green company, Earth Friendly Products.”

Ed O’Ross, Shannon Elizabeth, Annabella Sciorra, George Finn, Malcolm McDowell, and Billy Zane star in A Green Story which was shot in LA, Chicago, and Greece. John Edward Lee, Dimitri Birbilis, Deanna Plascencia and Chadwick Struck produce, with David Agiashvili executive producing.

Commenting on the deal, filmmaker Agiashvili said, “We are very pleased to be working with Indican on A Green Story. They understand the message of the movie and have a great vision for releasing the film and showcasing it to audiences.”

VP of Indican Pictures Randolph Kent stated, “Indican Pictures is proud to release A Green Story. A timely film in a decade when corporate greed runs rampant and the concerns of consumers are cast aside. It’s fascinating to see Van Vlahakis stand up for what he believes, take on the powers that be and create safer products for consumers – all the while showing the ‘rags to riches’ tale can be done with honor and dignity.”

Humphrey Bogart will be recognized and honored with a film festival hosted in Key Largo and featuring his classic films. The Humphrey Bogart Estate and the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce have teamed up on what will become an annual event, drawing fans of the iconic actor together in Key Largo for screenings of his movies.

Announcing the festival, Stephen Humphrey Bogart (Humphrey Bogart’s son), stated: “We have long been looking for a natural home for a family-backed Bogie film fest, and we believe there is no better place than Key Largo. My father and mother starred in Key Largo, and the actual boat from The African Queen is here in Key Largo. It just feels right to honor my father and his movies in this beautiful place, which has such an organic connection to his legacy.”

Added Russell Yagel, the leader of the effort to have Key Largo selected as the location for the festival: “It feels great to welcome Humphrey Bogart back to Key Largo. This is a great partnership between Key Largo and the Bogart Estate. In 1948, Humphrey Bogart starred in Key Largo. Now, 65 years later, for Key Largo to become the home of the only Bogart Estate-backed Humphrey Bogart Film Festival is just wonderful.”

According to the festival’s official announcement, the annual event will screen “a rotating selection of Bogie classics and a group of movies centered around that year’s theme.” In addition to screening Bogart’s films, the festival will include a formal Bogart Ball, “an outside screening of Casablanca, a display of Bogart memorabilia, question and answer sessions with Stephen Bogart, and tours on the fully-restored African Queen.”

Fans will be able to take part in the selection of films to screen at the Humphrey Bogart Film Festival by voting for their favorites at www.bogartfilmfestival.com.

The first Key Largo-based festival will take place in May 2013.

Bandito Brothers Bring Act of Valor to TV

Act of Valor Photos

The Bandito Brothers aren’t done with Act of Valor yet and will be working with Relativity and RelativityREAL to deliver a project for the small screen based on their surprise hit film. The Bandito Brothers and Relativity will be teaming up to develop an original series that they’ll be shopping to broadcast and cable networks.

Act of Valor featured real, active-duty Navy SEALs in a fictionalized look at their world. Filmed with live ammunition in explosive action scenes, and with the cooperation of the Navy, Act of Valor was made on a small budget of $12 million-ish and earned $73 million before leaving theaters. The film’s soundtrack also over-performed, reaching #1 on the Country album chart and #7 on the Top 100 albums chart.

“I was blown away by the realism and authenticity of Act of Valor. We’re thrilled to work with the Bandito Brothers to make something more visceral than any other show on television,” said RelativityREAL’s CEO, Tom Forman.

“We’re excited to be reuniting with Relativity again in order to develop this series and tell stories about real acts of valor in a unique and engaging way,” said Bandito Brothers.

There’s no word yet on when we might see an Act of Valor-inspired TV series or if active-duty SEALs will once again be involved in front of the camera.

TNT’s preparing for season three of the alien invasion drama Falling Skies, with the cast and crew now gearing up for the next season. According to TNT’s start-of-production announcement, the sci-fi series was basic cable’s top-ranking drama among adults 18-49 and 25-54.

Falling Skies stars Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Maxim Knight, and Connor Jessup. The series is executive produced by Steven Spielberg with DreamWorks Television producing.

This upcoming season will find Gloria Reuben guest starring as Marina Perlata, an “aide to Wyle’s Tom Mason.” Robert Sean Leonard (House) will also guest star as Roger Kadar, “an obsessive but gifted scientist who runs the local power grid and lives underground with his pet rats, earning him the nickname ‘The Rat King.'”

Falling Skies will return for season 3 next summer.

Season 3 Plot: As the new season of Falling Skies opens, seven months have passed since the survivors of the 2nd Mass reached Charleston, which has been named the capital of the New United States. Now elected to public office, Tom (Wyle) has taken a more aggressive approach to the alien occupation than former leader Dr. Manchester.

The government has formed a tenuous alliance with a band of rebel skitters who now paint their faces with a red and yellow stripe before battle in honor of Red Eye, their fallen leader. Tom’s son Ben (Jessup) serves as the mediator between Mason and the rebel skitters. But the alliance may not be enough to overpower the enemy Espheni, whose forces are now being led by an even more sinister overlord. To complicate matters further, another race of aliens has just entered the battlefield.

Charleston also faces dangers from within its own walls. Recent battle losses have convinced Tom and the military that there may be a mole feeding strategic plans to the Espheni. Despite the threats they face, the survivors living in Charleston are doing their best to rebuild their lives. Dr. Glass (Bloodgood) and Tom are focusing on their growing family. Newly promoted to Colonel of the 2nd Mass, Weaver (Patton) is enjoying a renewed relationship with his daughter. Hal (Roy) is recovering from mysterious injuries he suffered while trying to destroy an alien superweapon.

Meanwhile, his romantic pursuit of Maggie (Carter) is finally starting to see positive results, though she has a growing concern that something is wrong with him beyond mere battle injuries. And Pope (Cunningham), the non-conformist leader of the Berserkers, has set up his own little Popetown on the outskirts of Charleston.

Take a Look at ‘The Iceman’

Poster for The Iceman

Based on true events, The Iceman finds Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire, Premium Rush) starring as contract killer Richard ‘The Iceman’ Kuklinski. Back in 1986, Kuklinski was convicted of murdering 100 men as a hitman for various crime organizations in New York.

The cast also includes Ray Liotta, James Franco, Chris Evans, Robert Davi, and David Schwimmer.

The Plot: The Iceman follows Richard Kuklinski (Shannon) from his early days in the mob until his arrest in 1986. Appearing to be living the American dream with his beautiful wife, Deborah Pellicotti (Winona Ryder) and their children, in reality, he is a killer-for-hire able to keep his “job” hidden from his family. When he is finally arrested by the feds in 1986, neither his wife and daughters nor their neighbors have any clue that he is a murderer. Why did he do it and how did he get away with it for so long?
