One glance at the YouTube comments under AMC’s Interview with the Vampire teaser released ahead of season two episode five confirm fans are dying to get to the truth. Also, they want the season to be much longer than just eight episodes.
It appears the “Memory Isn’t the Only Monster” one-minute video isn’t just scenes from episode five. That should be confirmed when the fifth episode, “Don’t Be Afraid, Just Start the Tape,” airs on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT.
The season two cast is led by Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy, and Assad Zaman as Armand. Sam Reid stars as Lestat de Lioncourt, Ben Daniels is Santiago, and Delainey Hayles takes over the role of Claudia.

The interview continues in season two. In the year 2022, the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Anderson) recounts his life story to journalist Daniel Molloy (Bogosian). Picking up from the bloody events in New Orleans in 1940 when Louis and teen fledgling Claudia (Hayles) conspired to kill the Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Reid), Louis tells of his adventures in Europe, a quest to discover Old World Vampires and the Theatre Des Vampires in Paris, with Claudia.
It is in Paris that Louis first meets the Vampire Armand (Zaman). Their courtship and love affair will prove to have devastating consequences both in the past and in the future, and Molloy will probe to get to the truths buried within the memories.

Paramount+ with Showtime’s Dexter: Original Sin has added four series regulars to its roster. James Martinez (Love Victor), Christina Milian (Falling Inn Love), Alex Shimizu (The Blacklist), and Reno Wilson (Mike & Molly) have signed on to the 10-episode Dexter prequel as employees of the Miami Metro Police Department.
The four join previously announced stars Patrick Gibson as Dexter Morgan, Christian Slater as Harry Morgan, and Molly Brown as Debra Morgan.
The announcement offered this description of who the just-announced cast will be playing:
James Martinez plays Angel Batista, an up-and-coming homicide detective who leads with his heart.
Christina Milian plays Maria LaGuerta, Miami Metro’s first female homicide detective.
Alex Shimizu plays Vince Masuka, a forensic analyst who eagerly shares his expertise while relishing the chance to boss around his new intern, Dexter Morgan.
Reno Wilson plays Bobby Watt, Harry’s longtime partner and confidant.
Filming is getting underway today in Miami on the newest addition to the Dexter franchise. Emmy nominee Clyde Phillips returns to the world of the serial killer who kills bad people as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Michael C. Hall (Dexter), Mary Leah Sutton (Resident Evil), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris), and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll). Heathers‘ Michael Lehmann is the directing executive producer. Dexter: Original Sin is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios.
“Set in 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter (Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness,” reads Paramount+ with Showtime’s synopsis. “With the guidance of his father, Harry (Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.”

The third season is expected to begin production later this year.
“In the wake of last season’s shocking finale, the upcoming all-new season of Criminal Minds: Evolution picks up as the FBI’s elite team of profilers investigates the deadly mystery of GOLD STAR,” reads Paramount+’s season two synopsis. “As the conspiracy unfolds, the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) is met with an unexpected complication when serial killer Elias Voit negotiates a deal that transfers him to federal custody in the BAU’s own backyard. The team faces its biggest threat yet and cannot emerge unscathed from the mind-bending consequences.”
The series stars Joe Mantegna as David Rossi, A.J. Cook as Jennifer ‘JJ’ Jareau, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, Ryan-James Hatanaka as Tyler Green, and Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis. Netflix’s limited series Tall Pines has a new title – Wayward – and five new cast members. Chucky‘s Alyvia Alyn Lind and Davey & Jonesie’s Locker‘s Sydney Topliffe have joined the thriller as series regulars. Patrick J. Adams (Suits), Patrick Gallagher (Big Sky), and Josh Close (Killers Of The Flower Moon) have boarded the series as recurring guest stars.
They join Mae Martin (The Flight Attendant), Sarah Gadon (Ferrari), and Brandon Jay McLaren (The Cleaning Lady) who were previously announced to star. Martin is also the co-creator and serves as co-showrunner with Ryan Scott (Fear the Walking Dead).
“Wayward is a thriller set in a bucolic but sinister town that explores the insidious underbelly of the ‘troubled teen industry’ and the eternal struggle between one generation and the next,” reads Netflix’s synopsis.
Martin says she’s been dying to tell this story for years. “I’m beyond excited for people to see what we have in store! It’s going to be an insane roller coaster and so different to anything I’ve done before,” stated Martin when the series was announced in April 2023. “Very very grateful to Netflix for supporting it, and I can’t wait to get going.”
The eight-episode limited series is executive produced by Martin, Scott, Hannah Mackay, Jennifer Kawaja, Bruno Dubé, and Ben Farrell, producing through his company, Objective Fiction.
Adria Arjona as Madison Masters and Glen Powell as Gary Johnson in ‘HIt Man’ (Courtesy of Netflix)
With over 100 reviews, Netflix’s Hit Man sits at 97% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics have embraced the R-rated action comedy from co-writers Richard Linklater and Glen Powell, which Netflix snatched up after its Venice and Toronto film festival screenings. Directed by Richard Linklater (Boyhood) and starring Powell and Adria Arjona, Hit Man is loosely based on the true story of Gary Johnson, an unassuming man who worked as an investigator for a district attorney’s office and masqueraded as a hit man.
Skip Hollandsworth’s 2001 Texas Monthly article, the inspiration for the film, followed the incredible story of Johnson and his secret life working with the police on murder-for-hire cases. The movie’s Gary (Powell) is a college professor with a side gig as a pretend hit man in police sting operations. Gary has a real knack for transforming into a client’s expectations of how a hit man should look and act. And in one particular case, his act leads to making an unlikely love connection.
Co-writer/actor Glen Powell and co-writer/director Richard Linklater recently took part in a lengthy press conference with the cast, hosted by Netflix in support of the film’s streaming release on June 7, 2024. The following are highlights of what the creative duo had to say during the virtual Q&A.
On Why the True Story was Ripe for a Feature Film Treatment:
Glen Powell: “It was early on in the pandemic and I stumbled upon this article in Texas Monthly called ‘Hit Man’ by Skip Hollandsworth. And, you know, immediately, it was so clear there was such a compelling character there. I mean, if you look at the real-life Gary Johnson, he was a psychology professor who actually moonlighted with the police department, did AV equipment, was an ornithologist, Zen Buddhist. It was just like such an incredible character piece, but I didn’t really know where it went. All I knew is that there was a fascinating guy here.
They called him a Laurence Olivier fake hit man because he approached the job differently. Instead of just becoming the hitman for hire across from someone who is trying to kill their husband or their wife or their business partner, he embodied their fantasy of what a fake hit man is because hit men don’t exist. So, he took this skill set to a whole new level and started putting on these disguises and all these different things. And it was just a fascinating idea.
[…] He also had this professorial sort of part of his job. So there [were] already these ideas of identity baked into the way he thought. You know, kind of the way he moved through the life. And so, I called up Rick and I said, ‘I just read this amazing article called Hit Man.’ And Rick took a beat and he said, ‘Yeah, I read that article when you were in seventh grade.’”
Richard Linklater: (Laughing) “I think I might’ve said your diapers.”
Glen Powell: “Your diapers, yeah.”
Richard Linklater: “But that would’ve been a little too…”
Glen Powell: “And if we were in the same room, he would’ve patted me on the head.”
On Their Approach to the Story:
Richard Linklater: “I was so excited to get this call from Glen because that story had been kicking around in my head. I had talked to Skip. I had had a couple of meetings on it over the years, but it didn’t really work. It didn’t really work as a film because there was this repetition. It didn’t really go anywhere. So, I told this to Glen. I said, ‘Yeah, I don’t think it really works.’ He said, ‘Well, let’s talk about it.’ I was like, ‘Oh, wow. It’s the pandemic. What else are we gonna do?’
So, work we did every day for a while. We would just have hours of conversations. And yeah, Glen kind of loosened the log jam I was in. He said, ‘Well, what if we deviate? You know, why does he have to stick to the facts?’ I was like, ‘You can do that?’
[…] Once that floodgate opened, we were off to the races. We just started having these great ideas. And you know, the last two-thirds of the movie kind of comes out of that. The genres kick in and it becomes this thrill ride, you know? But it was grounded in that reality, what Glen described – that Gary Johnson’s life reality. That was a real person, a real job, the strangest occupation anyone could ever have. So, I don’t know. It was a lot of fun, man.”
On Narrowing Down the Film’s Focus:
Glen Powell: “I think one of the big breaking points for when we were talking about it … because obviously talking about the real-life Gary Johnson there is sort of a moment where you have to go, okay, the story wasn’t revealing itself in a natural way, but then there was this paragraph about this woman that the real-life Gary Johnson sat down with. And instead of sending her to jail like he did with everybody else … she was approaching him trying to kill her husband or trying to get him to kill her husband, and he didn’t believe that she was capable of this thing. He sort of believed in the best of her and talked her out of it, and it was like the first time that ever happened. And there was a relationship that developed from that.
And so, all of a sudden, the article just sort of moves on. Rick and I were like, ‘Well, what if we pull at that thread?’ We have so many questions about what that relationship is and how they reengaged with each other. You know, did he stay as the fake hit man?
So, we started kind of pulling at that thread and, really, that was a big breaking point because that was the thing when we started thinking about if he got stuck in this identity as this fake hit man, you have this amazing character mask where you have a guy who’s teaching humanity, but not experiencing humanity. Getting stuck in the mask in the body of someone who embodies all the dangerous, exciting elements of what humanity is, this sort of roller coaster ride, and ends up finding that he can be a more three-dimensional fun version on the other side of it.”
Richard Linklater: “And it’s just a coincidence the roulette wheel of hit man he gets stuck in happens to be the smoldering, sexy, charming Ron. Not Dean, the orange cherry freak.”
On What Keeps Them Grounded:
Richard Linklater: “What keeps you grounded is a low budget and a tight schedule. (Laughing) It keeps you very much grounded.”
Glen Powell: “Yeah. I mean, it’s really true. I think the beautiful part about this experience is that I remember writing this with Rick. You know, we took this movie out and no one got it. […] We were so proud of it. We were so excited about what it said about identity and passion. We thought it was so universal and exciting. It was going to be an audience movie, and then it was just crickets. And no one got it. Nobody responded to it because I don’t think it fits into one box, right?”
Richard Linklater: “But when they did, it was like, well, you could tell they kind of want it to be a real hit man movie.”
Glen Powell: (Laughing) “You know, it’s like we’re trying to do something original. And I think the town always wanted it to be something else. I think what I’m just really proud of is we got to make this movie independently, make the movie that we wanted to make. And it doesn’t subscribe to any genre. It doesn’t fit into any box. And I think the reason it’s a really great audience movie, and the reason people are responding to it, is you can’t get out in front of it. You can’t predict it because it’s all the things.”

Eva Longoria rounds up her family and goes on the run in Apple TV+’s Land of Women, based on Sandra Barneda’s bestselling novel La tierra de las mujeres. The trailer shows Longoria protecting her mom and daughter by fleeing the United States. Why? Because her hubby apparently owes criminals $15 million and doesn’t have the resources to pay off his debt.
The new series also stars Carmen Maura, Santiago Cabrera, and newcomer Victoria Bazúa.
“Land of Women is a dramedy starring Eva Longoria as Gala, a well-to-do New Yorker who has her life turned upside down when her husband fails to repay a debt to the wrong people. With dangerous criminals searching for her family and now vanished husband, Gala is forced to leave the city with her aging mother Julia (Maura) and teenage daughter Kate (Bazúa) to her mother’s hometown in northern Spain—a place that Julia fled 50 years ago—to start life anew and hope their identities remain hidden,” reads Apple TV+’s synopsis. “But gossip in the charming wine town quickly spreads, unraveling their deepest family secrets and truths.”

Discussing the series with The Hollywood Reporter, Longoria described her character as a New York socialite forced to leave her comfortable life behind. “She has to bring along her mother [who has dementia] and her rebellious daughter to go with her, and they go to Spain to be in hiding. They end up going to the town the mother grew up in, and it’s a town she left because she had so many secrets,” said Longoria. “So it’s this multi-generational show about these three women who really don’t know each other, even though it’s grandma, mother and daughter, it’s like they’re strangers to each other and this adventure leads them back to each other.”
Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, and Paula Fernández created the series, with Campos serving as showrunner. Campos, Neira, Teresa Fernández-Valdés, Ben Spector, Sandra Condito, and Longoria (via her UnbeliEVAble Entertainment production company) executive produce. Carlos Sedes is the director and also executive produces.
Land of Women is produced by Bambu Producciones.
The six-episode series premieres on June 26, 2024 with the release of the first two episodes. New episodes stream on Wednesdays.

“The Chosen is the first multi-season series of its kind, a groundbreaking historical drama about the life of Jesus (Jonathan Roumie) as seen through the eyes of His followers. Set against the backdrop of Jewish oppression in first-century Israel, the seven-season show shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings. Clashing kingdoms. Rival rulers.
In season four of The Chosen, the enemies of Jesus close in while His followers struggle to keep up, leaving Him to carry the burden alone. Threatened by the reality of Jesus’ growing influence, religious leaders do the unthinkable – ally with their Roman oppressors. As the seeds of betrayal are planted and opposition to Jesus’ message turns violent, He’s left with no alternative but to demand His followers RISE UP.”
