Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts star in Dream House, a PG-13 rated thriller directed by Jim Sheridan (Brothers, In America). Dream House has had a rough time making it to theaters (it was delayed from a February release, reshoots were involved, and now the film won’t be screening for critics before it’s released which is never a good sign), but it’s set to finally make its way into theaters on September 30, 2011.
With the release date approaching, Universal Pictures has just provided this video interview with Daniel Craig discussing the film. Craig chats about his character, the premise, the movie’s themes, and the love story.
The Plot: The film tells the story of a successful publisher (Craig) who quits a job in New York City to relocate his wife (Weisz) and two daughters to a quaint New England town. But as they settle into their new life, they discover their perfect home was the murder scene of a mother and her two children. And the entire city believes it was at the hands of the husband who survived. When Will investigates the tragedy, his only lead comes from a neighbor (Watts) who was close to the family that died.
As Will and Ann piece together the disturbing puzzle, they discover that the story of the last man to leave Will’s dream house will be just as horrifying to the one who came next.
Rachel Bilson stars in The CW’s new primetime drama Hart of Dixie. The new series will premiere on September 26, 2011.
Rachel Bilson plays Dr. Zoe Hart, Jaime King is Lemon Breeland, Wilson Bethel is Wade Kinsella, and Cress Williams is Lavon Hayes. McKaley Miller stars as Rose, Scott Porter is George Tucker, and Kaitlyn Black is Annabeth.
The Plot: Fast-talking New Yorker and brand new doctor Zoe Hart has it all figured out – after graduating top of her class from medical school, she’ll follow in her father’s footsteps and become a cardio-thoracic surgeon. But when her dreams fall apart, Zoe decides to accept an offer from a stranger, Dr. Harley Wilkes, to work with him at his small practice in Bluebell, Alabama.
Zoe arrives in this small Gulf Coast town only to find that Harley has passed away and left his half of the medical practice to her in his will. She quickly finds that Southern hospitality isn’t always so hospitable – the other doctor in town, Brick Breeland, is less than pleased to be sharing the practice with this young outsider, and his daughter, Lemon, is a Southern belle whose sweet disposition turns sour when she meets Zoe. Zoe’s only allies are the mayor, former football star Lavon Hayes, her bad-boy neighbor Wade Kinsella, and handsome lawyer George Tucker – who just happens to be Lemon’s fiance.
Zoe is out of her element and ready to pack her bags, but a surprise visit by her snobby New York mother leads to Zoe’s decision to stay in Bluebell for a while, discovering small-town life and a side of herself she hadn’t known was there.

The Plot:
Amy Jellicoe, an ambitious executive at a global conglomerate, has been her own worst enemy for most of her adult life. Her self-destructive choices, both at home and at work, have resulted in a very public, humiliating nervous breakdown. After an extended stay at a treatment center in Hawaii, Amy returns to her fractured life, determined to lead a more enlightened existence. But her newfound noble intentions only ratchet up the drama, wreaking unexpected havoc on those around her.
“There are so many anti-heroes populating TV series right now, I wanted to do a show about someone who is dysfunctional and far from perfect, but whose impulse is to do good and try to be the best person she can,” stated White. “Amy is living a very ordinary life, but her relentless drive to make her world better makes her unique – and in a way, dangerous. I also wanted to a write a show that was centered around a woman, but wasn’t a dating show. Amy has a lot more on her mind than just her romantic life – and I hope people will find that relatable and refreshing.”
Adds Dern, “Amy is a mass of contradictions, a woman of good impulses who often does the wrong thing, a woman who wants to make things better but sometimes produces the opposite result. As she tries to decide what’s really important to her, she tries to live a deeply authentic life, but her passion and honesty often backfire, making her efforts to change herself and her world far more complicated.”

Remember back when it was the norm to call a flight attendant a stewardess? No? Well, there was a time when impeccably dressed stewardesses waited patiently on each and every passenger, fresh food was served with real silverware, and – yuck – it was okay to smoke on planes. Take a trip back through time with this video from ABC examining what it used to mean to be a Pan Am stewardess. ABC’s Pan Am debuts tonight at 10pm/9pm Central.

Santana Concert: September 21, 2011 at Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, California
The show opens with the band on stage minus Carlos Santana. A video screen on either side of the stage and in the middle of the stage above one of the three drummers shows Carlos making his way to the stage by weaving his way through back stage doors. This video was obviously shot earlier because the video is during the day and the band took the stage about 8:30pm. The same video is likely used for every show. Carlos takes the stage with his guitar and every member of the band plays their own thing. It was like a sound-check, just noise, total distortion. Maybe it’s art if you’re seeing some bands, but I highly doubt that many longtime Santana fans really enjoyed this. It was actually annoying. It didn’t stop there. The band went right into a rap version of AC/DC’s “Back in Black” as the two lead singers, Anthony Vargas and Tony Lyndsay, take the stage and are singing, actually rapping, together at opposite ends of the stage. It’s not unfair to say that the first 10 minutes of the show are a waste.
Just when you thought it was going to be a long show, the band goes into “Black Magic Woman” and then “Oye Como Va,” and the band – along with Vargas and Lyndsay – nail these songs perfectly. This is what Santana fans came to see. Soon, the band is into a definite highlight of the night with “Maria Maria,” which is from the 1999 Supernatural CD. The band made many referrals to this album throughout the night as well as its follow up, Shaman which features the already classic “Smooth” which included Rob Thomas on vocals on the CD. “Smooth” was an encore and while musically it was intact, neither Vargas nor Lyndsay could come close to matching Thomas’ vocals.
On about three occasions, Carlos provided his influential opinions which included mostly the philosophies of drawing from one’s energies and staying away from negative energies. One segment in particular went on for about four minutes. There was practically silence in the crowd, aside from some laughter. The person I was with said they were waiting for Tony Robbins to come out. Carlos went so far as to say that President Obama and The Pope aren’t going to save you, only you can save you.
The remainder of the show included a lot of jamming, and five minute songs were often turned into ten minutes songs or longer. While the jamming was cool at some points, the crowd seemed to get bored with it. These jam sessions also took up a lot of show time that resulted in the omission of a lot of tunes that would have been great to hear. Noticeably missing songs included “She’s Not There,” “No One to Depend On,” and “Everybody’s Everything.” Also missing were some successful songs from the late ’70s and early ’80s such “Hold On,” “Winning” and FM radio staples of “Open Invitation” and “All I Ever Wanted.”
Aside from Vargas and Lyndsay on vocals, the group consisted of three drummers including Carlos’ new bride, Cindy Blackman, and long-time drummer Dennis Chambers. Both drummers got their solos. Blackman’s was longer and Chambers’ solo was during the encore. The band also included guitarist Tommy Anthony, bassist Benny Rietveld, as well as keyboards, horns and other percussions.
The sound quality was very good, aside for the opening 10 minutes, and loud. Unless you’re huge Santana fan, the cheap seats would work out great for you. The show lasted about two hours and 45 minutes with one encore.
Side note: Opening was Michael Frante and Spearhead who put on a spirited 45 minute opening set. They are worth seeing. For this concert, fans who purchased lawn seats were asked to trade their tickets in for pavilion seats so that the crowd would be closer together in this large amphitheatre. The lawn was closed completely and most seats were filled.
Santana’s tour continues through November 2011 with remaining dates mostly including California venues before ending in Las Vegas.

CBS wants your input on potential new categories to be included in the 2012 People’s Choice Awards to be held Wednesday, January 11th at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The top vote getters among 15 categories – including Favorite Scene Stealer, Favorite Canceled Series, and Album of the Year – will be added to the awards show.
Share your opinion on which categories should be a part of next year’s People’s Choice Awards at www.PeoplesChoice.com/pca/categories. And if you don’t like any of the 15 categories presented, you can always write in your own choice.
“I love producing the People’s Choice Awards and I am so glad to be back for the 2012 show,” stated executive producer Mark Burnett. “I’m proud of the buzz-worthy moments we created for this year’s Emmy Awards and speak on behalf of our entire production team when I say how much we are looking forward to taking on the PCAs once again.”
“Our categories evolve each year to reflect the constantly changing popular culture,” said Fred Nelson, President of People’s Choice. “In 1977, for example, Carol Burnett triumphed over Donny & Marie and The Captain & Tennille for Favorite TV Variety Show. You can’t get more ’70s than that. While in 2008, the third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise beat out The Bourne Ultimatum and Spider-Man 3 for Favorite Movie Threequel, a category we created specifically for that year. We’re letting the fans help us choose new categories for 2012; after all, their passion for entertainment is the heart and soul of the People’s Choice Awards.”
