Oppenheimer continues with its awards season domination, picking up 13 2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards nominations. BAFTA also found a lot to admire in Poor Things, nominating it 11 times in categories including Best Film and Leading Actress (Emma Stone).
Killers of the Flower Moon and The Zone of Interest received nine nominations, followed by Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, and Maestro with seven. All of Us Strangers was nominated in six categories, and Barbie and Saltburn received five nominations.

David Tennant will handle the EE BAFTA Film Awards hosting duties. Winners will be announced on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

FBI‘s Shantel VanSanten joins the FBI: Most Wanted cast as a series regular with season five episode one, “Above & Beyond.” Directed by Ken Girotti from a script by David Hudgins and Elizabeth Rinehart, episode one will air on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT.

“Above & Beyond” Plot: When a mysterious deal goes south, leaving behind multiple bodies, the Fugitive Task Force heads to Virginia to put the pieces together with the help of a familiar face and new addition to the team, Special Agent Nina Chase (VanSanten). Also, Remy continues to grapple with the aftermath of connecting with his long-lost nephew.
From Emmy Award winner Dick Wolf, FBI: Most Wanted is a high-stakes drama that focuses on the Fugitive Task Force, an elite unit that relentlessly pursues and captures the notorious criminals on the Bureau’s Most Wanted list. The team’s charming but formidable leader is Supervisory Special Agent Remy Scott, who started his career in the New York FBI field office before rising through the ranks of the Bureau in Philadelphia and Las Vegas.
The team includes Special Agent Sheryll Barnes, a former NYPD detective and forensics expert who is raising two young children with her wife; Special Agent Hana Gibson, a gifted millennial computer whiz with a sharp wit and mad hacking skills; Special Agent Ray Cannon, who is a former New Orleans cop-turned-junior detective and worked Violent Crimes in Albany after following in his retired FBI agent father’s footsteps.
The newest member of the Fugitive Task Force is well-seasoned Special Agent Nina Chase who, most recently, worked assorted cases with the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Originally from the Houston field office where she specialized in undercover work, Nina is a standout agent who is skilled with cars and has a penchant for driving fast. Always in the field and always on the run, FBI: MOST WANTED is a weekly adrenaline shot about the thrill of the chase.
Ben Mendelsohn reunites with Bloodlines showrunner Todd A. Kessler for Apple TV+’s The New Look premiering on February 14, 2024. The trailer for the drama inspired by true events features Mendelsohn as designer Christian Dior and Oscar winner Juliette Binoche (The English Patient) as Coco Chanel.
The cast of the 10-episode season includes Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) as Catherine Dior, two-time Oscar nominee John Malkovich as Lucien Lelong, Emily Mortimer (Don’t Look Deeper) as Elsa Lombardi, Claes Bang (Bad Sisters) as Spatz, and eight-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close as Carmel Snow.

Todd A. Kessler created the series and serves as writer, director, and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark A. Baker. Grammy Award winner Jack Antonoff curated the soundtrack which features Bleachers, Florence Welch, Lana Del Rey, Matty Healy (The 1975), Beabadoobee, Nick Cave, and Perfume Genius.
All of Us Strangers, The Color Purple, Fellow Travelers, The Last of Us, and Our Flag Means Death (which was just canceled by Max) received nominations for the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards. The annual awards recognize fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues in the media, and this year’s list includes 310 nominees.
“For 35 years, the GLAAD Media Awards has provided the global stage for LGBTQ creators, alongside industry talent and leaders to be celebrated and supported. The 2024 GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will take place at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 14, 2024 and at the Hilton Midtown in New York City on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

ID’s true crime series The Playboy Murders returns for its second season with an episode that focuses on Sandy Bentley, one-half of “The Bentley Twins,” and her relationship with nightclub doorman Michael Tardio who was murdered in September 2002. The seven-episode second season, starring and executive produced by Holly Madison, premieres on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT.

Victoria Vetri, who after her friend Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson family, went down a violent murderous path of her own.
Paula Sladewksi, an aspiring model whose life took a chaotic and deadly turn after an appearance in a Playboy video.
Melonie Haller, a young actress and Playboy model with a near-death experience that propelled her into a quest for justice to expose the sexually violent culture among the rich and powerful.
The finale of season 2, which will premiere Monday, March 11 at 10/9c on ID, features the story of professional poker player turned Playboy model, Jill Ann Spaulding, who risked it all to write a tell-all memoir about the dark secrets of Playboy before becoming entwined in a strange – and ultimately deadly – love triangle.
The two-minute trailer for This Is Me…Now describes the sci-fi autobiographical musical one-hour film as from the heart, soul, and dreams of Jennifer Lopez. The trailer runs through J-Lo’s various romances and marriages, and finds her friends hosting an intervention to discuss her sex addiction.
“I learned the hard way not all love stories have a happy ending,” says Lopez. “Whenever someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, the answer was always in love.”
Grammy-winner Dave Meyers (“No Tears Left to Cry” by Ariana Grande) directs from a screenplay by Jennifer Lopez and Matt Walton (story by Lopez, Meyers, and Chris Shafer). Lopez’s hubby, Ben Affleck, is featured in the film alongside Fat Joe, Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Jenifer Lewis, and Jay Shetty.

Manu Bennett (Spartacus, Arrow) will host The Summit, an action-adventure reality competition series just given a series order by CBS. The series is based on an Australian show and is expected to premiere this year.
“The Summit encompasses everything our viewers love in a reality show – everyday people overcoming and conquering their fears, a fierce game of strategy, and an intense physical and emotional competition,” stated Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “Set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop, this is a high-stakes, adrenaline-filled game with thrilling twists and turns that make for riveting and inspiring television.”
Executive producers include Kevin Lee, Tina Nicotera, and Endemol Shine North America’s Sharon Levy and DJ Nurre.

But not everyone will make it, as these strangers must work together to tackle the dangerous terrain, unforgiving Antarctic winds, heart-pounding challenges and gut-wrenching eliminations on their way to the peak.
Tracking them along this journey is the ‘Mountain’s Keeper’ who will surprise the trekkers with brutal twists and force decisions that complicate an already grueling ascent. Searchlight Pictures unveiled the first Suncoast trailer ahead of the film’s debut at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. The coming-of-age indie drama stars Nico Parker (The Last of Us) as a teen who’s dealing with a dying brother.
Writer Laura Chinn (Florida Girls creator) makes her directorial debut with a film based on her experiences. Three-time Oscar nominee Laura Linney stars as Parker’s mom, and three-time Oscar nominee Woody Harrelson plays an “eccentric activist who is protesting one of the most landmark medical cases of all time.”
The cast also includes Daniella Taylor, Ella Anderson, Amarr, and Ariel Martin. Jeremy Plager, Francesca Silvestri, Kevin Chinoy, and Oly Obst served as producers.
Suncoast will premiere on Hulu on February 9, 2024.

HBO announced the premiere date for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver season 11 just days after the series added another Emmy to its awards collection. Oliver will return with his eleventh season on February 18, 2024. New episodes will air on Sundays at 11pm ET/PT.
The series took home wins in the Outstanding Scripted Variety Series (a brand new category) and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. Altogether, Last Week Tonight has earned 28 Emmys since 2014. It’s also collected five Critics Choice Awards, six Writers Guild Awards, eight PGA Awards, two Peabodys, and two GLAAD Media Awards.
Last Week Tonight is nominated for a 2024 DGA Award in the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Variety/Talk/News/Sports – Regularly Scheduled Programming category. It also is up for a 2024 PGA Award in the Outstanding Producer of Live Entertainment, Variety, Sketch, Standup & Talk Television category.

Paul Pennolino directs the series, and John Oliver, Tim Carvell, Liz Stanton, Jon Thoday, and James Taylor serve as executive producers. HBO has already renewed the show through 2026.
