‘Chucky’ Season 3 and ‘SurrealEstate’ Season 2 Score October 4 Premiere Date

Chucky the killer doll returns for season three and Wynonna Earp star Tim Rozon is back helping with haunted real estate on season two of SurrealEstate on October 4, 2023. USA/Syfy will kick off new seasons of both shows on Wednesday, October 4th, with Chucky airing at 9pm ET/PT on USA/Syfy followed by SurrealEstate at 10pm Syfy.

The premiere date announcement was accompanied by the first SurrealEstate season two trailer and a special Chucky press conference video.

The popular series based on the Child’s Play film franchise stars Zackary Arthur (Transparent) as Jake Wheeler, Björgvin Arnarson (PEN15) as Devon Evans, and Alyvia Alyn Lind (Daybreak) as Lexy. Brad Dourif provides the voice of Chucky, and Jennifer Tilly is Tiffany Valentine.

As for Devon Sawa, Chucky did not confirm nor deny that Sawa may return for the new season as a new character. When asked during his press conference if Sawa’s back, Chucky replied, “Who?”

Syfy offers this description of the new season:

“In the TV series, Chucky crosses paths with archenemies, old allies, and new prey as he seeks to inspire fear and mayhem wherever he goes. After his diabolical plan to invade America’s children’s hospitals was foiled in Season 1, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he holds responsible: surviving teens Jake (Arthur), Devon (Arnarson) and Lexy (Lind), along with his ex Tiffany, now his sworn enemy.

After having escaped their new Catholic school, can ‘Jevon’ keep their relationship alive and best Chucky once and for all — this time in the nation’s capitol?”

Tim Rozon reprises his role as Luke Roman and Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek) returns as Susan Ireland in season two of SurrealEstate. Adam Korson (The Stairs) is back as Father Phil Orley,
Maurice Dean Wint (Diggstown) plays August Ripley, Savannah Basley returns as Zooey L’Enfant, and Tennille Read (Workin’ Moms) reprises her role as Megan Donovan.

Syfy had originally indicated SurrealEstate would be done after just one season. Showrunner George R. Olson even tweeted about its demise in October 2021. Fans were then pleasantly surprised to see the series listed on Syfy’s 2022-2023 calendar, released back in May 2022.

Per Syfy: “SurrealEstate follows real estate agent Luke Roman and an elite team of specialists that handle the cases no one else can: haunted and possessed houses that literally scare would-be buyers away. Researching, investigating and ‘fixing’ the things that go bump in the night, the team works to create closure – and closings – even as they struggle with demons of their own.”

‘Reptile’ Unveils First Photos with Justin Timberlake and Benicio Del Toro

The first photos from writer/director Grant Singer’s Reptile give away nothing about the story, but that’s the point. “I think the movie will be exciting to people who like to watch something where you don’t know where it’s leading you, where a film is going to have twists and turns and deceive you. And people who like things that are intense and visceral and suspenseful, I think they’ll find something exciting in this,” said first-time feature film director Singer in an interview with EW.

The first five photos feature the neo-noir crime thriller’s stars, including Justin Timberlake, Alicia Silverstone, Frances Fisher, and Ato Essandoh. Benicio Del Toro, who’s also a co-writer along with Singer and Benjamin Brewer, is shown in three photos including one with his 1997 Excess Baggage co-star Alicia Silverstone.

The cast also includes Eric Bogosian, Domenick Lombardozzi, Michael Carmen Pitt, Karl Glusman, and Matilda Lutz. Del Toro, Rick Yorn, and Rachel Smith executive produce, and Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill, and Thad Luckinbill serve as producers.

Reptile premieres on Netflix on October 6, 2023.

FX and FX on Hulu’s 2023 Fall Lineup

American Horror Story: Delicate
American Horror Story is an anthology horror drama created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Since 2011, the creators of the limited series have redefined the horror genre with various installments featuring a creepy asylum, a coven of witches, a traveling freak show, a haunted hotel, and the apocalypse itself. The television series sprouted a legion of dedicated fans who anticipate what terrors the next chapter will hold.

The New York Times Presents: “How To Fix a Pageant”
Just as Miss USA and its parent company, Miss Universe, came under female ownership for the first time, a pageant rigging scandal and contestant revolt has lifted the veil on a deeply flawed organization. Now the company plans to increase profitability by embracing women’s empowerment. But it may be too little, too late.

Contestants, coaches, judges, and former directors take us inside the often surprising world of pageantry and share what will be lost if this legacy brand can’t weather the storm. The New York Times Presents: How To Fix a Pageant is produced and directed by Nicole Rittenmeyer, with reporting by Lauren Herstik.

American Horror Stories

A Murder at the End of the World
A Murder at the End of the World is a mystery series with a new kind of detective at the helm — a Gen Z amateur sleuth and tech-savvy hacker named “Darby Hart” (Emma Corrin). Darby and eight other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire (Clive Owen) to participate in a retreat at a remote and dazzling location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use all of her skills to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests and before the killer takes another life.

A Murder at the End of the World stars Emma Corrin, Brit Marling, Harris Dickinson, Alice Braga, Joan Chen, Raúl Esparza, Jermaine Fowler, Ryan J. Haddad, Pegah Ferydoni, Javed Khan, Louis Cancelmi, Edoardo Ballerini and Clive Owen. A Murder at the End of the World is created and directed by Brit Marling & Zal Batmanglij.

Fargo
The latest installment of Fargo, the Emmy, AFI, Peabody and TCA Award-winning limited series created by Noah Hawley, is set in Minnesota and North Dakota, 2019. After an unexpected series of events lands Dorothy ‘Dot’ Lyon (Juno Temple) in hot water with the authorities, this seemingly typical Midwestern housewife is suddenly plunged back into a life she thought she had left behind.

North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm) has been searching for Dot for a long time. A rancher, preacher, and a constitutional lawman, Roy believes that he is the law and therefore is above the law. At his side is his loyal but feckless son, Gator (Joe Keery), who is desperate to prove himself to his larger-than-life father. Too bad he’s hopeless. So, when it comes to hunting Dot, Roy enlists Ole Munch (Sam Spruell), a shadowy drifter of mysterious origin.

With her deepest secrets beginning to unravel, Dot attempts to shield her family from her past, but her doting, well-meaning husband Wayne (David Rysdahl) keeps running to his mother, Lorraine Lyon (Jennifer Jason Leigh), for help. CEO of the largest Debt Collection Agency in the country, the Queen of Debt is unimpressed with her son’s choice in a wife and spares no opportunity to voice her disapproval.

However, when Dot’s unusual behavior catches the attention of Minnesota Police Deputy Indira Olmstead (Richa Moorjani) and North Dakota Deputy Witt Farr (Lamorne Morris), Lorraine appoints her in-house counsel and primary advisor, Danish Graves (Dave Foley) to aid her daughter-in-law. Afterall, family is family. But Dot has an uncanny knack for survival. And with her back to the wall, she’s about to show why one should never provoke a mother Lyon.

Outlander‘s Sam Heughan continues his relationship with Starz with the upcoming psychological drama The Couple Next Door. Described as a dark thriller, the six-part series just released the first four photos and confirmed Starz is targeting a 2024 premiere.

The series will air first on Channel 4 in the UK later this year before it arrives on Starz in the U.S. and Canada.

In addition to Sam Heughan, The Couple Next Door stars Eleanor Tomlinson (The Outlaws, Poldark), Jessica De Gouw (Pennyworth), and Alfred Enoch (How to Get Away with Murder). David Allison (Bedlam) wrote the series and Dries Vos (Suspect) directs. Jo McGrath, Walter Iuzzolino, and Alison Kee executive produce, with Jen Burnet producing.

The Couple Next Door is produced by Eagle Eye Drama.

Starz offered this description of the thriller:

When Evie (Tomlinson) and Pete (Enoch) move into an upscale neighborhood, they find themselves in a world of curtain twitching and status anxiety. But soon find friendship in the shape of the couple next door, alpha traffic cop Danny (Heughan) and his wife, glamorous yoga instructor Becka (De Gouw). As time goes on, these two couples get increasingly close to each other and one fateful night, become sexually entangled in a way that will change their lives forever…

The Couple Next Door is a deliciously dark psychological drama, exploring the claustrophobia of suburbia and the fallout of chasing your deepest desires. The six-part series is an addictive, emotional roller coaster and looks at how we never know what goes on behind closed doors.

In 1988, 20-year-old Pizza Hut Manager, Nancy DePriest, was dropped off at work by her husband. Investigators close in on a pair of suspects in what seems like an open and shut case… until the late 1990s when someone else confesses to the crime.

Alina visits the crime scene, takes a closer look at the evidence through a 21st-century lens, and follows every twist of this controversial case to find out what really happened to Nancy DePriest.

“Murderers Leave Trails” – October 25
CSI Alina Burroughs travels to the Colorado mountains to investigate the 1995 shooting death of Bruce Dodson. Killed while hunting deer with his new wife, Alina relies on cutting-edge ballistics analysis and forensic geology to try to pick up a murderer’s trail.
