‘Shotgun Wedding’ New Trailer with J-Lo and Josh Duhamel

Prime Video’s romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding features two actors very familiar with the genre, although this rom-com appears to be much more action-oriented than lovey-dovey. Do people still say lovey-dovey? Anyhow, the latest trailer shows the chaos that erupts after Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel’s wedding is interrupted by armed intruders.

The cast also includes Jennifer Coolidge (who just won a Golden Globe for her performance in The White Lotus), Sonia Braga, Cheech Marin, Selena Tan, and D’Arcy Carden. Callie Hernandez, Desmin Borges, Steve Coulter, Alberto Isaac, and Lenny Kravitz also join Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel for some rom-com action-thriller fun.

Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect, Tales of the City) directed from a screenplay by Mark Hammer. Lopez, Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman, Alexander Young, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina produced.

Shotgun Wedding will premiere on Prime Video on January 27, 2023.

The Plot, Courtesy of Prime Video:

Darcy (Jennifer Lopez) and Tom (Josh Duhamel) gather their lovable-but-very-opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding, just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage.

“’Til Death Do Us Part” takes on a whole new meaning in this hilarious, adrenaline-fueled adventure as Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones—if they don’t kill each other first.

‘The Good Doctor’ Launches ‘The Good Lawyer’ Spinoff

Kennedy McMann, Karen Robinson, and Freddie Highmore in ‘The Good Doctor’ season 6 episode 16 (ABC/Jeff Weddell)

Nancy Drew star Kennedy McMann and Oscar nominee Felicity Huffman will star in The Good Doctor spinoff, The Good Lawyer. McMann and Huffman’s characters will be introduced on an episode of The Good Doctor season six airing on March 6, 2023.

ABC offered the following details on The Good Lawyer‘s embedded pilot episode:

“Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) seeks legal representation to help him win a case and puts his faith in a promising, young lawyer who has obsessive-compulsive disorder. The episode is written by co-showrunners David Shore and Liz Friedman and directed by Ruben Fleischer.

Kennedy McMann is set to guest star as Joni DeGroot, the brilliant, funny, and self-aware lawyer who is relatively new to her prestigious law firm when she takes Shaun’s case. Living with OCD, Joni has never wanted to be treated differently. While her symptoms take a toll on her personal and professional life, her attention to detail allows her to see cases through a different lens.

Felicity Huffman is set to guest star as Janet Stewart, a highly regarded attorney and partner at the law firm with a fierce intellect and dry wit. A seasoned veteran, Janet has represented Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff) in several legal matters over the years, so he turns to her to represent his beloved protégé. But when Shaun declares that he wants Joni to represent him, Janet is forced to let Joni take lead on the case.”

Felicity Huffman was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar in 2006 for her performance in Transamerica. (Her Transamerica co-star Kevin Zegers is currently starring on ABC’s The Rookie: Feds.) Huffman’s been nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards, winning in 2005 for her work on Desperate Housewives.

Kennedy McMann was recently seen on Tell Me Lies, in addition to playing the titular character on four seasons of The CW’s Nancy Drew.

FBI Series Description, Courtesy of CBS:

FBI is a fast-paced drama about the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This elite unit brings to bear all their talents, intellect and technical expertise on major cases in order to keep New York and the country safe. Born into a multigenerational law enforcement family, Special Agent Maggie Bell commits deeply to the people she works with as well as those she protects. Her partner is Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan, a West Point graduate via Bushwick who spent two years undercover for the DEA before being cherry-picked by the FBI.

Overseeing them is Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille, who operates under intense pressure and has undeniable command authority. The team also includes Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine, the nerve center of the office whose ability to easily relate to and engage with both superiors and subordinates makes him a master motivator. The smart and outspoken Special Agent Tiffany Wallace, who spent six years with the NYPD, is partner to Special Agent Stuart Scola, an Ivy League-educated Wall Streeter-turned-FBI agent.

These first-class agents tenaciously investigate cases of tremendous magnitude, including terrorism, organized crime, and counterintelligence.

The Resident Season 6, Courtesy of Fox:

The compelling medical drama The Resident follows the doctors and nurses at Chastain Memorial Park Hospital. They work tirelessly to solve intricate medical cases, stopping at nothing to save their patients while facing challenges in their own lives.

Season five was a tumultuous journey, as our heroes at Chastain weathered several storms, including the devastating loss of the beloved Nurse Practitioner Nicolette Nevin. Now, entering a cutting-edge and electrifying sixth season, the stakes are at an all-time high. This season, pertinent topics are touched upon that push our characters to the limit while fighting for their patients’ lives. The season kicks off six months after we’ve last seen our heroes at Chastain. Chastain’s quality of care is put at risk and it’s up to our doctors to shine a light on the effects political corruption has on the healthcare system.

In the season premiere, DR. CONRAD HAWKINS (Czuchry) cozies up with his new love interest. Who will it be, DR. BILLIE SUTTON (Lucas) or DR. KINCAID (CADE) SULLIVAN (Kaley Ronayne)? Conrad’s journey continues as he balances his new love life, single fatherhood and saving patients at Chastain. Elsewhere, we’re catapulted into a gripping medical emergency for PADMA DEVI (guest star Aneesha Joshi) and her unborn twins, that will showcase the skills of Chastain’s new top pediatric surgeon, DR. IAN SULLIVAN (McCarthy), as he hides a dark secret surrounding addiction. If Ian’s secret leaks, it can cost him his job and his relationship with his daughter, Cade.

Stepping into fatherhood, we’ll see another side of the “Raptor” or DR. AJ AUSTIN (Warner) as he supports Padma all the way. The power couple DR. DEVON PRAVESH (Dayal) and DR. LEELA DEVI (Joshi) shine as Devon leads his own clinical trials and Leela is appointed Chief Resident. Chastain’s CEO, DR. KIT VOSS (Leeves), feels the stress of running a hospital when resources are low, and a new potential governor threatens to cut Chastain’s funding, all while supporting her love DR. RANDOLPH BELL (Greenwood) through his battle with MS.

This is a season of renewal and transformation for the doctors at Chastain as they step into new phases of their personal and professional lives.

It appears the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is getting a second chance as big-name stars turned out for the 2023 Golden Globe Awards. Hosted by Jerrod Carmichael, the HFPA’s dicey reputation didn’t keep NBC from airing the 2023 show after canceling the event in 2022.

The Banshees of Inisherin went into the night with the most nominations of any film and wound up winning in the Best Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy (Colin Farrell), and Best Screenplay categories. Steven Spielberg’s most personal film to date, The Fabelmans, was named Best Picture – Drama and Spielberg took home the Best Director trophy.

Abbott Elementary was nominated in five categories, topping the list on the television side going into the night. The half-comedy earned Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy (Quinta Brunson), and Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical-Comedy or Drama Television Series (Tyler James Williams).

HBO’s first Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, pulled off a win in the Best Television Series – Drama. And season two of The White Lotus anthology series picked up Golden Globes wins in the Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television and Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Jennifer Coolidge) categories.
