Get ready, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin fans – the finale is here and it’s a creepy wild ride. Season one episode 10 – “Final Girls” – starts off back on December 31, 1999 at the Waters’ house. Rose Waters (Jeanette Bonner) takes a page from the mom in Carrie and is upset with Angela (Gabriella Pizzolo), pointing out her makeup and how she’s showing off her body. Rose blames her daughter for being raped, claiming she invited it.

Angela, rightfully, tells her mother it’s not her fault. Rose tells her not to go to the party but Angela storms out.

Present day, December 14th: Faran (Zaria) is happy her dad’s been released from jail, and Zeke (Benton Greene) confirms he believes this was a warning from Sheriff Beasley.

Tabby (Chandler Kinney) asks Wes (Derek Klena) if he remembers the night they showed Jaws 2. He does and remembers they were slammed and she and Chip both bailed. Tabby’s confused because she asked Chip to cover for her, but Wes is sure Chip left too. He assumes Chip also went to the party.

The girls meet up and Faran informs them Sheriff Beasley raped Angela. Imogen (Bailee Madison) fills them in on the news that Beasley and her mom dated in high school. However, the most shocking news is that someone dug up Imogen’s mom’s body.

They wonder if Sheriff Beasley is A, but Noa (Maia Reficco) points out they thought the train car guy was A. Their moms must have known what Beasley did to Angela, so the question is why didn’t they say anything? Noa thinks they should question them again, but this time split them up.

The girls interrogate their moms and Faran’s mom, Corey (Zakiya Young), confirms Angela said Tom Beasley raped her. Faran asks if it happened before, during, or after Imogen’s mom dated him. Corey recalls they broke up after.

Corey suggests Faran and her friends need to quit while they’re all still in one piece.

Faran and Kelly Beasley (Mallory Bechtel) meet up and she reveals her dad seems to be losing it and knows what’s been said about him. Kelly’s on lockdown and can’t go back to school until after Christmas break. Faran spells it all out – everything they’ve been dealing with including Tyler’s murder and how Karen really died. “I’m telling you now because A is avenging the death of Angela Waters…all the people who hurt her.”

Faran’s going to see if anyone in their group can figure out how to get Kelly and her mom out of that house.

Tabby lets Imogen know she’s very suspicious of Chip and explains what she’s learned, admitting it’s circumstantial evidence. Imogen has an idea. When she woke up on the beach after being raped, her underwear was missing. They need to check Chip’s room.

They ask Chip’s mom if they can borrow his Super 8 for Tabby’s short film, aware that he’s at work. They search his room for Imogen’s missing underwear but come up empty-handed. However, they do find hardcore rapey horror movies.

Plan B: They decide to confront him.

Chip’s still at the theater when Tabby and Imogen accuse him of rape. Tabby explains Wes told her he left the movie theater right after she did. Plus, they have DNA proof he’s the father of Imogen’s baby. Tabby demands to know why he did it. They say they don’t want to get the sheriff involved or everyone to know, but they need closure.

Chip (Carson Rowland) confesses to raping them both. “How could you?! You were my best friend!” says a visibly upset Tabby.

Tabby and Imogen let him know just how badly he hurt them. They also warn him they’re going to take him down. Suddenly, the masked man appears behind Chip. Chip turns around, sees the stranger, and runs away.

A stands there staring at the girls, “He hurt us the same way Tom Beasley hurt Angela Waters,” says Imogen. He takes off after Chip.

The girls get together at school and Tabby and Imogen fill them in on what happened with Chip. Also, A’s back. Faran lets them in on her meeting with Kelly just as A sends another text. It reads: “Your final round is about to begin. You broke our rule.”

Faran realizes A must know she told Kelly. Mouse (Malia Pyles) wonders if the school’s bugged and Noa is confused about why A isn’t punishing Sheriff Beasley since he’s the guiltiest of them all. Imogen thinks there must be someone guiltier, but who’s left is the question. They decide to go back to the Waters’ house and search it for real this time.

As the girls begin their search, the masked man begins to kidnap their moms one by one. Different clues lead the girls to believe it’s possible someone else lived there with Angela and her mom.

Imogen finds two sets of height markings on the wall. Both are labeled “A.W.”

They discover crayons in an animal cage like someone was kept in it. Imogen finds a picture of two kids on Halloween and then receives a text from A: “Time for the trial.” The text is accompanied by a photo of the school. A second photo arrives of their moms passed out in a van.

“Can you guys feel it? One way or another this is ending tonight,” says Imogen as they stand in front of the school. Before going in, Imogen texts Kelly to come to the school.

The only light in the halls are candles with “hall passes” for each of them instructing them where to go. They realize A’s splitting them up and receive yet another text: “All bullies must be punished tonight. Starting with yours. -A.”

Tabby finds Chip taped to a chair with a knife and a note – “Carve an A into his chest.”

Noa finds her mom’s drug dealer along with syringes filled with drugs.

Mouse finds Steve and mouse traps. A wants her to trap him.

Faran finds Madame Giry and a tattoo gun. “Time to make her imperfect,” the note reads.

And the biggest shock of them all… Imogen’s mom’s body is there as well as her headstone. A note next to pliers reads: “Think your mom wasn’t a bully? Look in her mouth and she’ll tell you the truth.”

The girls meet back up and reveal they couldn’t go through with what A wanted them to do to their bullies. They notice Imogen holding onto a wall and she is definitely not okay.

Another text from A arrives: “Well done. You showed mercy. Maybe there’s hope. Gather in the auditorium. The trial begins now.”

They find their moms tied to chairs in a circle. There are also five empty chairs. They run toward them, but the moms warn them to not come any closer. Suddenly A’s there and Imogen asks, “Are you Angela’s brother?”

Principal Clanton (Robert Stanton) is next on the scene, and he confirms the masked man is Angela’s brother, Archie Waters.

Kelly tries to sneak out of the house but her dad, Tom Beasley (Eric Johnson), wants to know where she thinks she’s going. He warns her no one is leaving the house.

Principal Clanton tells the girls he’s impressed they figured out who raped his daughter, Angela. That’s right; Principal Marshall Clanton is Angela Waters’ father!

Elodie (Lea Salonga) doesn’t understand how they didn’t know this. Principal Clanton reveals he and Rose went to high school together and she got pregnant with twins. His parents didn’t approve, and the Waters family needed money so his parents paid them off to move out of town.

Clanton became principal of Millwood High and Rose came back, wanting Angela to get a decent education.

Imogen points out he’s only talking about Angela. Clanton explains Rose wanted Archie at home with her because “he had a face only a mother could love.”

No one could ever know he was Angela’s father, so he watched her from afar until she took her own life. Clanton calls each mother by name and says it’s time for the truth.

Meanwhile at the Beasleys, Kelly, Martha, and Tom are eating dinner when Tom says Karen was the only one who understood him. Kelly brings up that he assaulted a girl and now Karen is dead because of his actions. Martha wants to know what she means by that, and Kelly spills the beans. Kelly explains that someone is punishing people for what he did to Angela Waters.

Martha excuses herself as Kelly warns her dad that when she gets out of the house, she’s going to tell everyone what he did. He produces his gun and asks Kelly how many bullets are in it. He answers his own question and says, “Three. Do you think you’re ever gonna set foot outside this house again?”

Martha returns and shoves a butcher knife into Tom’s stomach. She screams, “No more!”

Kelly finds Greg (Elias Kacavas) at Pinball Pizza and tells him she needs his help.

Back at the school, Imogen reveals she found diary pages in her mom’s mouth that said: “erase her.”

Sidney (Sharon Leal) breaks the silence by saying it all started when Angela was sexually assaulted. A flashback shows Davie (Ava DeMary) asking Angela who hurt her, and Angela telling her it was Tom Beasley. Davie called her a liar and took it personally.

Davie’s big plan was to teach Angela a lesson by acting like she did exist. She got the whole school to join the plan to erase Angela Waters. A short while later, Davie acted like she was sorry for what she did to Angela and invited her to the New Year’s Eve rave. When Angela arrived, she was a mess. It looked like she crawled through the woods. They all ignored her, and the party shunned her.

Imogen asks if he killed her mom. Principal Clanton claims he didn’t but admits he sent her the flyer. Imogen tearfully tries to plead with him, insisting her mom did change. She was a different person, a better person, as an adult. Clanton says it’s too late to save Angela.

Since Davie took the “coward’s way out,” as he puts it, the sins of the mother must fall upon the child. In a last-ditch effort to save her own life, Imogen brings up that her baby is innocent. She then points out that Principal Clanton erased Angela just as much as their mothers did.

For the sake of her baby, Clanton will give her a head start. Imogen decides to run home after a flashback shows her mother telling her their house is her safe place.

Tabby points out the double standards; Tom Beasley raped Angela and they’re the ones paying.

Kelly and Greg come running in and principal Clanton shoots Greg. As Clanton’s distracted, Tabby takes out Mr. Smithee’s name plaque she stole from the film class and bashes Clanton over the head with it, rendering him unconscious. She unties the moms while the girls begin to tie Clanton up.

Imogen makes it home and has another flashback of playing hide and seek with her mom when she was a girl. Archie finds her in the bathroom her mom killed herself in, but Imogen is prepared and as he draws back the shower curtain, she stabs him. He doesn’t die and grabs her foot, causing her to fall.

Imogen begins to fight for her and her unborn baby’s life. He tries to choke her with one hand, and they fight over his knife with their other hands. She kicks off the wall and the knife plunges into his neck. She stabs him again and he knocks her head into the wall. They both fall to the ground.

The girls and the moms find Imogen and Archie in the hallway. When they ask if he’s dead, Imogen says, “I think so. Also, my water just broke.”

Imogen wakes up from a nightmare at the hospital and frantically asks for her baby. Sidney and Tabby assure her the baby is fine and everything is going to be okay… except Archie survived and is in the hospital as well. But she doesn’t have to worry; he’s guarded by cops.

Sheriff Beasley’s also at the hospital after surviving being stabbed by his wife. Clanton and Chip have been arrested.

Days later, Imogen and her baby visit her mom’s grave. (Davie’s body has been reinterred.) Imogen thinks back on the special memories she shared with her mom. The girls show up to make sure she’s okay, and Imogen confesses she knows who her mom was in high school and who she became. Who Davie became is the one that she’s going to hold in her heart for the rest of her life.

It’s now Christmas Day and everyone – the girls, their parents, the boyfriends, Kelly, her mom, and Greg – gathers to celebrate. They play Tabby’s favorite game of “favorite movie ever,” Marjorie chooses this time to let everyone know she’s checking into rehab after the holidays. Elodie offers to take Noa in and Corey assures her they’ll all take good care of Noa.

Corey announces she’s staying in Millwood, and Shirley says she and Elodie are going to start going to couples therapy.

Later, Corey breaks it to Tabby and Imogen that Chip is home. His parents made bail. Imogen and Tabby have decided they want to press charges against Chip for what he did, and Corey reminds them it won’t be easy. However, she has lawyers who will work pro bono. She’ll also do everything she can to help.

And now we’re treated to one final connection to the original Pretty Little Liars series. Imogen asks Tabby to come with her to Rosewood to meet the couple who are going to adopt her baby. Their names are Aria and Ezra (characters from Pretty Little Liars) and they’re open to giving her updates on the baby’s life.

Tabby wants to know if Imogen’s newly activated mother’s intuition thinks this is really over. Imogen thinks it is, but she couldn’t be more wrong. A nurse enters Tom Beasley’s hospital room only to find him a bloody mess and an empty bed where a once-wounded Archie Waters was. There’s a dead police guard nearby.

The final scene of season one episode 10 finds Chip answering his door to find the masked man standing there.

Remember the days of actually getting in your car and driving to a Blockbuster while crossing your fingers a new DVD release you’ve been dying to see is available? And then when it’s not, trying to figure out what you haven’t already watched a million times before so you don’t leave empty-handed? Netflix’s Blockbuster dives into those good old days when streaming didn’t exist and everyone owned a DVD player.

The 10-episode series is set in the last remaining Blockbuster Video and stars Randall Park as the store’s manager, Timmy Yoon. The cast also includes Melissa Fumero as Eliza Walker, Tyler Alvarez as Carlos Herrera, and Madeleine Arthur as Hannah Hadman. Olga Merediz plays Connie Serrano, JB Smoove is Percy Scott, and Kamaia Fairburn stars as Kayla Scott.

Blockbuster‘s the brainchild of Vanessa Ramos (Superstore, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), with Ramos guiding the series as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Additional executive producers include writer David Caspe, writer Jackie Clarke, John Davis, and John Fox.

Netflix just released a batch of photos and confirmed Blockbuster will be available to check out on Thursday, November 3, 2022.

The Plot and Character Details:

Timmy Yoon (Park) is an analog dreamer living in a 5G world. And after learning he is operating the last Blockbuster Video in America, Timmy and his staff employees (including his long-time crush, Eliza (Fumero) fight to stay relevant. The only way to succeed is to remind their community that they provide something big corporations can’t: human connection.

  • Randall Park as TIMMY: He’s a big dreamer whose love of movies makes it easy for him to recommend exactly what his regulars need, even when they don’t know they need it. He’s worked at Blockbuster since he was a teen and honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.
  • Melissa Fumero as ELIZA: A dedicated mother whose marriage to her high school sweetheart is on the rocks. She left Harvard after one semester to start a family and now works at Blockbuster alongside Timmy (Randall Park) as his trusty number two…and maybe more.
  • Olga Merediz as CONNIE: She works at Blockbuster to make friends, not money. She’s the unintentionally blunt mother figure to not just the employees, but many of the Blockbuster regulars.
  • Tyler Alvarez as CARLOS: As a first-generation son of immigrants, he learned English by watching movies, and they quickly became his love language. He dreams of being a filmmaker, but can’t help but feel like he owes it to his parents to live the American life they planned for him.
  • Madeleine Arthur as HANNAH: She’s genuinely sweet, a little naive, yet undeniably charming. She lost her mom at a young age but is surrounded by family at Blockbuster. Financially savvy to a fault, the staff is helping her learn the importance of self-care.

Recurring Guest Stars:

  • Kamaia Fairburn as KAYLA: Kayla is Percy’s smart and sometimes scary teen daughter. She’s not super open to the idea of taking orders from anyone, which can make her working at Blockbuster complicated for Timmy.
  • JB Smoove as PERCY: As the strip mall and party store owner, Percy sees himself as “the man with the plan.” He’s the fast-talking, stylish, over-confident other half of the best friend duo of Timmy and Percy, who can’t seem to stay away from Blockbuster, especially with his daughter working there.

‘House of the Dragon’ Earns an Early Season 2 Renewal

House of the Dragon Episode 1 Recap

HBO’s awarded the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, an early season two renewal order. The announcement was made less than a week after the series premiered on August 21, 2022.

The renewal came as absolutely no surprise given that the series premiere scored the biggest audience in HBO’s new original series history. More than 20 million viewers tuned in to check out this prequel set 200 years before Game of Thrones and focusing on House Targaryen (and its dragons).

The 10-episode first season airs on Sundays at 9pm ET/PT.

The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood novel, with Martin co-creating and serving as an executive producer. Co-creator Ryan Condal writes, executive produces and is a co-showrunner with director and executive producer Miguel Sapochnik. Sara Hess, Jocelyn Diaz, Vince Gerardis, and Ron Schmidt also executive produce season one.

“We are beyond proud of what the entire House of the Dragon team has accomplished with season one. Our phenomenal cast and crew undertook a massive challenge and exceeded all expectations, delivering a show that has already established itself as must-see-TV. A huge thank you to George, Ryan, and Miguel for leading us on this journey. We couldn’t be more excited to continue bringing to life the epic saga of House Targaryen with season two,” stated Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming.

  • Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower. The Hand of the King, Ser Otto loyally and faithfully serves both his king and his realm. As the Hand sees it, the greatest threat to the realm is the king’s brother, Daemon, and his position as heir to the throne.

‘Alone: Frozen’ Season 1 Episode 3 Recap – “The Edge”

Alone Frozen Season 1 Greg
Greg in season 1 of The History Channel’s ‘Alone: Frozen’

The History Channel’s first season of the Alone spinoff, Alone: Frozen, continues with episode three – “The Edge.” Airing August 25, 2022, episode three begins with five former Alone contestants remaining in the quest for the $500,000 prize. Anyone who makes it to Day 50 will take home a share of the pot.

Episode three takes the action in the frigid Labrador wilderness from six days into the competition through the 10th. At the start of the episode, it appeared that many of the remaining survivalists were so cold, hungry, and miserable that they were ready to tap out. But by the time the episode wrapped up, four continued in the challenge.

Greg Ovens, Age 58, British Columbia – Season 3, Survived 51 Days

44 Days Left: Greg has decided to tap out. He’s feeling a lot of anxiety and Labrador is bringing up too many memories of Patagonia. Plus, he hasn’t been able to catch any fish and has been forced to dine on just mussels.

Greg decided this is a game for younger people. He’s not going to push himself to thrive at the risk of causing damage to his health. With just four people left in the challenge, the four remaining survivalists are now guaranteed a $125,000 payout if they all make it to Day 50.

Alone Frozen Season 1 Callie

Callie Russell, Age 34, Montana – Season 7, Survived 89 Days

44 Days Left: Callie whispers as she points out a seal on a rock right behind her. She’s decided the seal is a female and it’s her friend.

Callie is determined to only leave if she’s injured or can’t find food. She sets out to collect mussels, noting that at low tide the grocery store opens. The seal fat she already collected combined with these mussels and seaweed covers pretty much all the major food groups: fat, protein, greens, and vitamins. She’s still hoping to get some fish using her trap line.

For now, the mussels will be a food source she can rely on.

Back at camp, she cooks up a stew while acknowledging she’s never lived on the coast before. The seaweed she’s cooking (Bladderwrack) is used to treat thyroid problems.

42 Days Left: Callie heads to the beach for water and spots a grouse. She didn’t bring her bow and heads back to retrieve it. Hopefully, she can find it again. She’s been dreaming of shooting one and really thinks a big mouthful of grouse would be delicious.

She searches for the grouse, listening and observing as she walks through the forest. Callie hears the grouse’s call and takes a shot. She misses and her arrow lands in the water. She doesn’t want to wait for low tide because she’s worried it will have drifted away by then.

The ocean’s only 36 degrees when she steps into it to recover her arrow. She goes in waist deep and retrieves it, but she’s freezing now. Callie admits she wanted to go into the Atlantic anyway.

Callie heads back to her shelter to warm up her feet. Her previous frostbite injury makes her susceptible to it again, and she’s aware she needs to get her toes nice and warm to prevent it. Callie realizes this season she’ll have to constantly take care of her feet if she wants to last 50 days.

Amós Rodriguez, Age 41, Indiana – Season 7, Survived 58 Days

44 Days Left: Amós is working on his fire inside his shelter when we catch up with him. He needs to seriously work on collecting firewood which was one of his downfalls from his previous Alone experience. Unfortunately, his area doesn’t have that many firewood resources. However, he does find a lengthy piece of driftwood that he’s able to cut up for wood.

Amós hopes to truly connect with this land and is thankful to the indigenous people who are allowing them to go on this quest of self-discovery.

He burns up about 500 calories an hour chopping the wood. He’s getting tired and makes a mistake, almost cutting his leg. Amós decides it’s best to take a break rather than cut his leg.

41 Days Left: The lack of food, the dehydration, and the cold have made Amós feel a little down. It’s only been a week and he can’t believe he’s already feeling like this.

Amós checks for fish stuck in the shallows and throws his line into the ocean. One fish or rabbit won’t help much because of how many calories he burns just surviving. He loves to fish and survived on fish for 50 days on Alone.

That night Amós admits that shore fishing isn’t going to cut it. Instead, he’ll try to figure out how to hunt a bear. That’s the only way his high metabolism will allow him to survive to the end.

Woniya Thibeault, Age 45, California – Season 6, Survived 73 Days

43 Days Left: It’s 2:30am when Woniya accidentally pepper sprays her sleeping bag and clothing, including her fur parka and rain jacket. The safety comes off easily and she didn’t realize it had been knocked off. She also got it on her hands where she has open wounds.

“Not as restful a night as I had really been hoping for,” laughs Woniya.

She also touched her eyes during the night, which is horrible, and she can’t put on her rain jacket without spreading the pepper spray on everything she’s wearing.

A short while later she zooms in on the pepper spray on her jacket, and it’s definitely coated. Her solution is to rub dirt on it, as she does with poison oak when she’s out running. If it doesn’t take the pepper spray off, at least it will form a protective layer over the chemical.

On the bright side, bears who sniff her wall might not want to hang out for long.

The tide is the lowest it’s been since she started her journey, and she wants to scavenge as many mussels as she can grab. She calls it Operation Mussel Farm and wants to harvest them now and then store them somewhere accessible (and still in the water) for when she needs them.

Woniya recalls spending too many calories on things that didn’t feed her during season six. She’s shifting her strategy for this season.

The tide’s coming in as she realizes the bag she was storing her mussels in has drifted out into the water. It’s too important of a resource to just let go, so she strips down to the bare necessities to retrieve it. She’s able to grab it, but the water is incredibly cold. The area’s known as Iceberg Alley for a good reason.

40 Days Left: The storm’s intense and it’s kicking her butt. Her one dependable, warm, dry rock wall is now leaking, and her sleeping bag is soaked. It’s 34 degrees and now she thinks the shelter location was too big of a gamble. Her tarp has a lot of holes, and she confesses the Arctic felt abandoned and easy compared to what she’s enduring in Labrador.

Morning arrives and Woniya smiles as she points out a gorgeous full rainbow. She’s excited to see days without rain and now that it’s not pouring, she needs to address the rain inside her shelter. She’s based her strategy on snow, not rain, and needs to shore up her shelter.

A great deal of wood has washed up on shore that she can use on her shelter. Woniya believes her shelter’s not just for warmth but also psychologically important and comforting.

The rain starts up again as she continues to work on her shelter. She fills in areas with holes on her tarp with branches while expressing how proud she is to be a part of a group of survivalists like this.

A short while later, the storm appears to be over and the sun breaks through the clouds right before sunset.

Alone Frozen Season 1 Michelle
Michelle in season 1 of The History Channel’s ‘Alone: Frozen’

Michelle Finn, Age 47, Maine – Season 8, Survived 21 Days

43 Days Left: Michelle’s working on finishing up her shelter while remarking on the stillness of the day. She’s happy she had a morning poo and cheers that she’s only missed two days of doing it thus far. On her previous challenge, she went nine days without pooping.

Today she plans on gathering clams and mussels during low tide, although she’d rather be hunting.

She spots a grouse and whistles, hoping to corral it back toward her shelter so she can grab her bow – which she forgot to bring.

She takes a shot and it’s a kill. She’s excited about the prospect of a big evening meal and gets a bit emotional thinking about it. This is her first kill on Alone, although she always knew she could be a hunter.

She never had the opportunity during her prior Alone season to even shoot a single arrow.

Michelle tosses in some cranberries as she cooks up her first grouse. She feels immense gratitude to the grouse for providing a decent meal.

42 Days Left: The wind has been so insane that Michelle didn’t sleep much. After the sun’s up she gets back to work on her shelter. It needs to be strong and insulated because of the winds, and she’s determined to protect the tarp from ripping and blowing by creating a ladder of sorts and laying moss over it. The moss will provide insulation and keep the tarp in place.

Michelle feels like this area is her home and that she was meant to be here. She didn’t feel connected to the land on season eight, but this season she does. She wants to come out of this feeling accomplished and believing she’s learned from her mistakes.

Her previous season taught her to put up her shelter immediately and also immediately start hunting and fishing. “That’s how I’ll be here for 50 days,” says Michelle.

‘Supernatural’ Reunion Grows as Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joins ‘The Boys’

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joins The Boys

Eric Kripke continues to pull in his Supernatural friends to fill out Prime Video’s The Boys, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan being the latest Supernatural veteran to sign up for the incredibly twisted, comic book-inspired series. There hasn’t been any official confirmation of who Morgan will play, however, he did tweet out his excitement over being a part of the mini-Supernatural reunion.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s a huge fan of The Boys and has been looking forward to the opportunity to reunite with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke for a while. Kripke told EW in May 2022 that the idea of bringing in Jeffrey Dean Morgan was still very much on his mind. It was all a matter of scheduling which was complicated when Morgan committed to starring in a The Walking Dead spinoff with Lauren Cohan.

“We might still remain star-crossed, unfortunately, because I did ask. We had a role come up, and my first question was, ‘Well, is Jeffrey available?'” said Kripke in May.

Fortuantely, the pieces finally fell into place and Morgan was able to fit a recurring guest role into his schedule. “Can’t tell you how excited I am! Big thanks to @therealKripke and @AMCPlus & @TheBoysTV for finding a way with both schedules. No easy task. SO DAMN STOKED!!” – twitter.com/JDMorgan

Supernatural‘s Jensen Ackles, who played Morgan’s son, Dean Winchester, joined the party for season three of The Boys as Soldier Boy. The Boys also features Supernatural‘s Jim Beaver in the recurring role of Secretary of Defense Robert A. Singer. Beaver played Bobby Singer in 70-ish episodes of Supernatural.

The Boys‘ Jack Quaid tweeted, “YES! Welcome to the party @JDMorgan!!!!” and Karl Urban said, “@JDMorgan joins The Boys – Whaaaattt !! Mind blown ? Welcome JD CAN NOT WAIT.”

Eric Kripke sent a welcoming tweet: “Welcome to the fam, @JDMorgan. We’re all SO PSYCHED to have you!!”

Even AMC’s The Walking Dead‘s official Twitter account got in on the celebration.

‘White Noise’ Trailer Starring Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig

Oscar-nominated writer/director Noah Baumbach reunites with two-time Oscar nominee Adam Driver and three-time Oscar nominee Greta Gerwig (his real-life partner) for White Noise, based on the book by Don DeLillo. The one-minute teaser trailer doesn’t give away much; if you haven’t read the book, odds are you’ll have no better idea what the film’s about after watching the trailer than you did before pressing play.

Netflix hasn’t set a premiere date for the comedy/drama which is embarking on a festival run before its wide release. White Noise is the opening night film at the Venice Film Festival on August 31, 2022 and will screen at the New York Film Festival in September.

“Noah Baumbach’s adaptation of White Noise is an unequivocal triumph: a wildly entertaining and morbidly funny meditation on the way we live now that is also the director’s most ambitious and expansive film,” said Dennis Lim, artistic director at NYFF. “Aided by a brilliant cast led by Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig, Baumbach has not only captured the essence of Don DeLillo’s beloved, era-defining book — he has turned it into a movie that speaks profoundly to our moment.”

Baumbach is returning to the Venice Film Festival after premiering Marriage Story there in 2019.

“It is a great honor to open the 79. Venice Film Festival with White Noise. It was worth waiting for the certainty that the film was finished to have the pleasure to make this announcement. Adapted from the great Don DeLillo novel, Baumbach has made an original, ambitious, and compelling piece of art which plays with measure on multiple registers: dramatic, ironic, satirical. The result is a film that examines our obsessions, doubts, and fears as captured in the 1980’s, yet with very clear references to contemporary reality,” said festival director Alberto Barbera.

Baumbach previously directed Adam Driver in Marriage Story, The Meyerowitz Stories New and Selected, While We’re Young, and Frances Ha. Baumbach and Greta Gerwig worked together on Mistress America, Frances Ha, and Greenberg.

The White Noise cast also includes Don Cheadle, Raffey Cassidy, Sam Nivola, May Nivola, Lars Eidinger, Andre Benjamin, and Jodie Turner-Smith. Baumbach’s behind-the-scenes team features director of photography Lol Crawley, production designer Jess Gonchor, editor Matthew Hannam, and costume designer Ann Roth, with music by Danny Elfman.

Netflix’s teaser trailer arrived along with a batch of photos and the following synopsis:

“At once hilarious and horrifying, lyrical and absurd, ordinary and apocalyptic, White Noise dramatizes a contemporary American family’s attempts to deal with the mundane conflicts of everyday life while grappling with the universal mysteries of love, death, and the possibility of happiness in an uncertain world.”

‘Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin’ Season 1 Episode 9 Recap: “Dead and Buried”

We’re down to just two new episodes left of HBO Max’s Pretty Little Liars Original Sin’s first season and it seems as though the girls have figured out who’s A. Episode nine begins on Sunday, December 11 with Imogen (Bailee Madison) declaring, “So that’s it.” Sidney (Sharon Leal) asks if Karen was pushed and if Tyler’s dead. Tabby (Chandler Kinney) confirms they were murdered by A.

The camera pans out to show all the moms and their daughters gathered to discuss what’s happening. The girls explain who they think A is and that the moms went to school with Joe. He’s the one who sent the creepy gifts and all the cryptic texts.

After Tabby delivers the CliffsNotes version of why they think Joe did it, Imogen says, “The sins of the mothers visited upon their daughters.”

Sidney asks why they didn’t tell them about any of this and Imogen explains that A threatened them. Marjorie (Elena Goode) wonders why he killed himself and Tabby thinks it could be because Imogen busted him and because he did what he set out to do.

Noa (Maia Reficco) chimes in, “Punish the guilty.”

Imogen demands the truth from the moms about what they did to Angela Waters. Sidney admits they were horrible bullies and they each describe their actions. Imogen asks why they were so cruel to Angela and Elodie (Lea Salonga) offers a poor excuse, saying it was a different time then. Girls were meaner in the ‘90s.

Imogen wants to know what her mom did, and Sidney describes Davie driving off and leaving Angela alone on Halloween after she threw poop at a house.

Corey (Zakiya Young) warns that everything they just said must stay in this room.

Back home, Marjorie tells Noa that considering everything going on, she wants to try to get clean. Marjorie believes she can do it at home because she’s a nurse and knows how to detox. Marjorie suggests that Noa stay at Shawn’s for a few days and asks her daughter to cover her Pinball Pizza shifts. Noa agrees.

Noa shows up at Shawn’s (Alex Aiono) and lies that her mom has the flu. Noa doesn’t want to get sick and miss track.

Sidney tells Tabby they still need to talk about what happened to her. Sidney doesn’t want to make the same mistake she made with Angela with her own daughter. Tabby confirms she really doesn’t know who did it and Sidney wonders if they should go to the police together. Tabby’s forced to reveal it’s not just about her; Imogen was raped, too, and it might be the same guy.

Tabby assures her mom they’ll be okay and just need more time.

Noa wakes at 4am to the sound of Shawn doing sit-ups. She decides to confront him about the pills she found in his bag. Shawn calls them supplements and admits half the football team is taking them.

Noa knows the pills are performance enhancers and wonders why he thinks he needs them since football season is over. Shawn gets defensive, claiming he’s not an addict and that it’s basketball season now. Noa thinks he’s just coming up with excuses and she’s all too familiar with all that.

Noa pleads with him to stop, saying, “I can’t handle two addicts in my life.” Shawn agrees but says he’ll wean himself off.

Imogen has a nightmare about finding her mom dead, but this time A’s in the bathroom with a knife and comes toward her. She wakes up screaming.

Monday, December 15: Faran (Zaria) decides to let her hair down and go with her natural hair.

As Tabby and Imogen walk to school, Tabby confesses she hates lying to her mom. That should end when they get the DNA test back from the blood drive. Imogen is still fixated on A and questions whether Crazy Joe was really A. Maybe A killed him and staged it to look like a suicide to throw them off the trail.

Imogen suggests that maybe A killed her mom too. She’s having a difficult time believing her mom was an evil bully because that’s not the mom she knew. Tabby sympathizes but wonders at this point how they can find out what happened in the bathroom. Imogen has a plan and is going to go talk to the coroner after school.

Kelly (Mallory Bechtel) and her mom, Martha (Jennifer Ferrin), argue over Kelly skipping helping at church to work on a dance piece with one of the girls who Martha thinks hurt Karen. Kelly insists Faran didn’t hurt Karen and Kelly’s dad insults her dance skills. “Let’s face facts – you never were the dancer your sister was.”

Kelly reminds him they all miss Karen but no one else is lashing out like a drunk bully. He tosses out another insult, saying if there were any justice in the world it would have been her that slipped and not Karen. Kelly screams, “F**k you!” at him before leaving the room.

Mouse rehashes her night with Ash (Jordan Gonzalez), explaining she had a come to Jesus moment with one mom while the other one asked her to set her up on lesbian dating apps. After Mouse confirms her moms are Disney fanatics, Ash suggests they should Parent Trap her moms. Mouse thinks that is a brilliant idea.

Chip (Carson Rowland) wants to be supportive and accompanies Imogen for her normal checkup with the school nurse, Nurse Simmons. The nurse confirms she’s on track at 38 weeks of pregnancy, but she’s concerned about Imogen’s high blood pressure. She should try not to get stressed. (Yeah, that’s not an option.)

Faran shows off her new hairstyle at lunch and the girls love it. Faran reveals she also took on a new project: the choreography of a retelling of Adam and Eve. She credits Tabby with inspiring her when they did her vision of Psycho.

Kelly comes strutting into the lunchroom wearing Karen’s clothes and no longer hiding she’s with Karen’s boyfriend, Greg.

Tabby shows Wes sketches of her storyline for her film and he thinks they’re awesome. He offers to lend her some of his equipment for the shoot. (Chip’s watching this and doesn’t look happy.)

Imogen asks the coroner if it’s possible someone could have murdered her mother. She doesn’t believe her mom would do that to herself. He offers to exhume her mom’s body, but she needs to file a petition with Sheriff Beasley.

Mouse’s moms can’t believe they’ve been Parent Trap-ped, but Elodie wastes no time and dives in with the questions, including whether as a young trans man in Millwood he’s ever felt scared.

Later, Mouse lies to Ash while facetiming and says she reconnected with her dad on Thanksgiving. Ash suggests they go bowling together.

Tuesday, December 16: Imogen manages to convince Sheriff Beasley to allow her mom’s body to be exhumed. She’s sure her mom was murdered but she doesn’t know by who. Sheriff Beasley needs an adult relative’s consent to begin the exhumation. She asks if her father would count.

Henry confesses Kelly kissed him and Faran confronts Kelly about what happened. Kelly claims it was a mistake and that she’s sorry, confessing it’s been really intense at home. Faran sees blood on Kelly’s thigh and Kelly squirms and makes excuses. Faran urges her to talk.

Kelly admits it’s her dad. He’s always been bad, but it’s recently gotten worse for her and her mom. Her dad resents the fact that Karen is dead while she’s alive. In fact, he said that out loud. Faran points out he’s a lunatic but warns Kelly that hurting herself isn’t the answer.

Faran makes her promise she will talk to someone if she feels like hurting herself again. Kelly asks why, given their history, Faran’s being so nice to her. Faran says she wants to break that cycle.

Shawn and his teammates show up at Pinball Pizza and he’s shocked to see Noa working there. She admits she’s covering her mom’s shifts while she’s at detoxing at home. Shawn takes a jab at her mom and Noa points out he shouldn’t judge. He’s offended that she compared him to her mom since he’s not using drugs recreationally. Noa reveals her mom started off with painkillers and Shawn feels bad because he didn’t know that.

Noa suggests that if he means that, he should throw away his pills. He claims he did and offers to let her check his bag.

Sidney receives a text from Tabby that she’s working late. Sidney offers to pick her up, but Tabby doesn’t need a ride; Wes is taking her home.

Sidney is suspicious of Wes and shows up at the theater demanding Wes get away from her daughter. Sidney accuses him of making Tabby work late so he can groom her. He admits he made a move on her one time and Sidney tells him she’s calling the police, adding that she’s protecting Tabby from this rapist.

Tabby’s had enough and drags her mom away. But as they leave Sidney’s parting words are, “If I see you within 10 feet of my daughter, I will cut your f**king dick off.”

Chip appears to have witnessed this all go down.

Outside the theater, Tabby assures her mom Wes didn’t rape her. Tabby thinks it was someone from school and fills her mom in on what they did to figure out who the rapist is. Sidney volunteers to talk to Corey and see if she knows anyone in the DA’s office who can help them navigate the investigation.

Faran confronts Sheriff Beasley and informs him his daughter is cutting herself because he’s abusing her verbally and emotionally. Faran is there to hold him accountable, and she admits to knowing all about his thing for boys. Of course, Sheriff Beasley assumes Noa said something, but Faran claims she didn’t. However, now she can’t wait to ask Noa questions.

Chip asks Tabby what that thing was between her mom and Wes. Was Wes inappropriate? Tabby wonders where this is coming from since he’s into Imogen, and Chip admits he’s only into her friend because she wouldn’t give him a shot. Tabby doesn’t want Imogen to get hurt but Chip claims that now he actually likes her. Chip also claims Wes is a creep and she shouldn’t trust him and needs to be careful.

The way Chip is acting alarms Tabby.

Imogen has a heart-to-heart with her dad and he explains when they first got together, her mom suffered from depression. She saw a therapist and took medication. He thinks something happened in high school because she wouldn’t talk about that time in her life much.

Imogen’s having difficulty dealing with this because the mom she knew loved life. Her dad reveals that Davie emerged from depression because of Imogen. Her outlook on life changed and stopped taking pills. He also explains that he couldn’t take care of his daughter the way she needed to be taken care of. The reason he’s not taking care of her now is that her mom put it in her will that she wanted Imogen to go to Sidney.

He signs the paperwork to exhume Davie’s body.

Tabby thinks about what her mom said – “nine times out of 10 it’s someone you know.” She thinks about Wes making a move on her but then remembers he wasn’t at the parties.

Tabby has a flashback to the party and recalls Chip was drunk. He kissed her and she pushed him away while telling him she doesn’t think of him that way. He left after saying he wanted to be alone. That was the night Imogen was raped.

The girls meet up and Noa reveals her mom received the results of the DNA test. To everyone’s shock, the DNA match isn’t to a jock. They narrowed it down to 66 boys and Faran, Noa, and Mouse say it wasn’t Henry, Shawn, or Ash. Imogen includes Chip, but Tabby isn’t so sure about that.

Tabby finds Greg and asks if Chip was at the bonfire party. He’s not sure.

Mouse receives a call from a very distraught Steve. They found his daughter Rachel’s body. He begs to see her and says he needs someone to talk to. She agrees.

Steve’s acting erratic and says he was too busy playing with Mouse when he should have been there for Rachel. When Mouse gets a text from Ash and reaches for her phone, Steve tells her not to answer it. She asks what she can do, and he gives her clothes to put on…Rachel’s clothes.

Sheriff Beasley calls Imogen and demands to know what kind of game she’s playing. He told her it would take time, but she just couldn’t wait. Imogen’s confused and asks what he’s talking about. Beasley’s at the cemetery and her mother’s grave has been dug up. Her body is missing. Imogen responds by passing out.

Faran comes home and her mom’s frantic. Faran’s dad was arrested for his taillight being out, and supposedly he resisted arrest. Faran says that doesn’t sound like her dad and Corey agrees. It’s more like some racist Millwood cop is abusing his powers.

Ash is worried and tells Mouse’s moms that Mouse left school early and hasn’t been answering his calls or texts. He then reveals they had a crazy night at the bowling alley with her dad. Elodie doesn’t think Mouse has been in touch with her father and Ash explains they met Steve several times. Elodie’s alarmed; Steve isn’t Mouse’s father’s name.

Elodie tracks Mouse’s phone and finds her at a motel.

Ash and Mouse’s moms locate her, but they have no idea what she’s wearing and why she’s dressed that way. Elodie recognizes Steve, and Mouse says they were playing a game but now it’s over.

Faran tells Kelly and her mom what’s going on with Sheriff Beasley. Kelly had no idea that was happening, and Faran claims he’s gone off the deep end and went after her dad. It’s going to get worse.

Imogen’s asleep when her dad calls because he remembered something. Her mom mentioned a high school boyfriend a couple of times, and he recalls the boy’s name was Tom or Tommy. Imogen asks if it was Tom Beasley, and her dad says it might have been.

Season one episode nine ends with a shocking twist. Kelly asks her mom, Martha, if she knew about her dad and her mom confesses that she did. “He always had his demons. Even in high school when he forced himself on that poor girl.”

Faran’s eyes go wide with shock. The scene switches to Imogen looking at her mom’s senior yearbook and spotting a photo of her mom and Tom Beasley.

Faran asks Martha what “poor girl,” and she answers, “Her name was Angela.”

‘The Umbrella Academy’ Opens for a Fourth and Final Season

The Umbrella Academy Season 4

Netflix’s critically claimed The Umbrella Academy has officially been renewed for a fourth – and final – season. The announcement confirmed Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore are all on board for season four.

“I’m so excited that the incredibly loyal fans of The Umbrella Academy will be able to experience the fitting end to the Hargreeves siblings’ journey we began five years ago. But before we get to that conclusion, we’ve got an amazing story ahead for season four, one that will have fans on the edge of their seats until the final minutes,” said series creator, writer, director, and showrunner Steve Blackman.

Season three wrapped up with the group stuck in a new timeline without their powers. In an interview with Netflix’s TUDUM, Blackman explained what fans can expect from the upcoming fourth season.

“This new timeline has been dictated by Hargreeves, who reprogrammed the Universe at the end of the Season 3 finale. But because of Allison’s actions, he didn’t get to finish what he started before Allison pressed the reset button,” explained Blackman. “So, the siblings losing their powers isn’t going to be the only oddity in this timeline. There are new enemies who want to see them wiped out of existence, but how do they manage without their powers? Is there even a way to get them back? The stakes have never been greater.”

Netflix’s renewal announcement did not include a targeted date for the premiere of the final season.

Creator Steve Blackman just extended his partnership with Netflix and will be writing/producing new projects for the streaming service under his Irish Cowboy production banner. Horizon Zero Dawn (based on the PlayStation Studios game) and Orbital are two of his projects currently in the active development stage.

Horizon Zero Dawn and Orbital are elevated, event-level projects grounded in characters that fans will love and relate to, which are hallmarks of Irish Cowboy productions,” said Blackman. “We’re thrilled to be working with Netflix and all of our partners on developing these ground-breaking stories.”

Horizon Zero Dawn is described as “an epic sci-fi adventure series set a thousand years in the future, in a strange and beautiful world full of primitive tribes and high-tech machines, all built on the bones of the ‘Old Ones’ – the ruins of our present-day United States. The disaster that destroyed our world is long forgotten, but when these formerly peaceful machines mysteriously turn into dangerous hunters of all life, a young outcast named Aloy discovers that the only chance to save her world is to fight to uncover what happened to ours.”

Orbital is co-created by David Lynch, Keith Lynch, and Steve Blackman, based on an original idea by David and Keith Lynch. Orbital will be set on the International Space Station and is described as a thriller event series.
