NBC’s New Amsterdam is changing things up a bit and will air season four episodes 19 and 20 on back-to-back nights. Episode 19 titled “Truth Be Told” will air on Monday, May 9, 2022 followed by episode 20, “Rise,” on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
Episode 18 found Helen working incredibly hard to regain her ability to speak. Commenting on Freema Agyeman’s outstanding performance executive producer Shaun Cassidy tweeted: “Come on, guys. Just give Freema the Emmy. Just do it. Then give another ten to the rest of our cast, because every week, without exception, one of these actors deserves it.”
The cast of season four is led by Ryan Eggold as Medical Director Max Goodwin. Janet Montgomery returns as Dr. Lauren Bloom, Freema Agyeman stars as Dr. Helen Sharpe, Jocko Sims plays Dr. Floyd Reynolds, and Tyler Labine is Dr. Iggy Frome. Michelle Forbes guest stars as Dr. Fuentes.
“Truth Be Told” Plot: Max discovers a fatal flaw in Dr. Fuentes’ scheme to purchase the UMI medical clinic, which could be her ultimate undoing. Bloom treats two high school students for life-threatening injuries and uncovers a dangerous situation. Reynolds helps a brother and sister confront a family crisis.
The Season 4 Plot, Courtesy of NBC:
After a turbulent year of sacrifice and hardship, Medical Director Max Goodwin and the team at New Amsterdam begin a well-deserved new chapter in their lives. The opening episode, titled “More Joy,” reflects both the drive of characters and the tone of season four. More joy: How can we find it, and how can we hold on to it?
For Max that means acknowledging and surrendering to his long-simmering feelings towards Dr. Helen Sharpe. While this new relationship brings its own set of challenges, Max continues his optimistic – and quixotic – quest to improve our nation’s healthcare system.
Continuing to navigate their own personal journeys – including Dr. Bloom’s relationship with Dr. Leyla Shinwari, who is now her resident, Dr. Frome’s new career and Dr. Reynolds’ personal entanglements – the doctors will strive to embrace the joy and successes in their lives.
But there is a surprise in store for our heroes. Dr. Veronica Fuentes is joining the New Amsterdam team to help turn around the overburdened and underfunded hospital. Her first order of business will be to tear down every progressive program Max has erected. Max will have his work cut out for him if he is going to outwit this calm, poised and fearless fixer.

Sarah Lancashire as Julia Child in ‘Julia’ (Photograph by Courtesy of HBO Max)
HBO Max has officially renewed Julia for a second season ahead of its season one finale. The comedy series is inspired by culinary icon Julia Child and her The French Chef television series and stars Sarah Lancashire as Julia.
The season one cast also includes David Hyde Pierce, Bebe Neuwirth, Brittany Bradford, Fran Kranz, and Fiona Glascott. Isabella Rossellini, Judith Light, Robert Joy, Erin Neufer, Jefferson Mays, James Cromwell and Adriane Lenox guest star.
“Julia Child tends to make people happy. In a bleak world, she is a welcome balm. Making this show has done the same for us. Working with our cast – with Sarah and David – our production team, writers, directors, and editors, who have become our friends, makes us happy. In the language of Julia, it feeds our souls,” stated executive producer/showrunner Chris Keyser and executive producer/creator Daniel Goldfarb. “The genuine love and care that HBO Max has shown for our show has been overwhelming. They allowed us to tell the simple story of a group of remarkable, oddball, passionate people, who joyfully live their lives to the fullest. That we get to keep them alive for another season makes us the happiest of all, and we are already hard at work.”
Julia season one premiered on March 31, 2022 and currently sits at 92% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Through her masterful performance, Sarah Lancashire welcomed us into the life of Julia Child, a trailblazer who, among her many accomplishments, redefined the possibilities of public television and, in turn, brought French cuisine and culture into American living rooms. We are grateful to our creative team, led by Chris Keyser and Daniel Goldfarb, and the talented cast who entranced us all with an endless helping of warmth and charm. Julia is the perfect show for this moment and we look forward to serving more in season two,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max.
The season one plot, courtesy of HBO Max:
Through Julia’s life and her singular joie de vivre, the series explores a pivotal time in American history – the emergence of public television as a new social institution, feminism and the women’s movement, the nature of celebrity and America’s cultural evolution. At its heart, the series is a portrait of a loving marriage with a shifting power dynamic.

Hot off her Oscar win for being the best part of Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, Ariana DeBose has signed on to host the 75th Annual Tony Awards. The 2022 ceremony marks Ariana DeBose’s first time as host; however, DeBose is a Tony Awards nominee. In 2018, DeBose earned a Tony Award nomination in the Best Featured Actress in a Musical category for Summer: The Donna Summer Musical.
Nominees for the 2022 Tony Awards will be announced on Monday, May 9, 2022 by Tony Award winner Adrienne Warren and Tony Award nominee Joshua Henry. 2022’s awards recognize the best of Broadway’s 2021-2022 season.
“I’m coming home! I’m so honored to celebrate 75 years of excellence in theater, but more importantly every member of this community who poured themselves into making sure the lights of Broadway have the opportunity to shine brightly once again! This is a dream come true, and I’m excited to see you all on June 12,” said Ariana DeBose.
The 75th-anniversary celebration will be broadcast live on both coasts for the very first time. The Tony Awards will air on CBS on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
“We are thrilled to have Ariana DeBose, who has captivated audiences with her inspirational roles on stage and in film and television, host this year’s Tony Awards,” said Jack Sussman, executive vice president of specials, music, live events and alternative programming, CBS. “After the challenging last two years, there is no one better to bring the theater community together on this important night honoring the best of Broadway and share the joys of live performing once again than this extraordinarily talented artist.”
“The 75th Tony Awards celebration is a big moment for all of us in the theater community, and in Ariana we have found the perfect host to lead this celebration,” said Heather Hitchens, president and CEO of the American Theatre Wing, and Charlotte St. Martin, president of The Broadway League. “We can’t wait to see Ariana take the stage on June 12 and dazzle, inspire and entertain us.”
Glenn Weiss is on board as director and executive producer. Ricky Kirshner also executive produces. The show is produced by Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, and White Cherry Entertainment.
Ariana DeBose’s credits include playing Anita in Spielberg’s West Side Story which earned her an Oscar, BAFTA, Critics Choice, and SAG Award. DeBose also was part of the original Hamilton cast and had roles on stage in A Bronx Tale, Pippin, Motown the Musical, Bring It On: The Musical, and Company.
DeBose recently finished work on the feature films Argylle and ISS and is currently filming Kraven the Hunter with Russell Crowe.
The promo video for Fox’s 9-1-1: Lone Star season three episode 17 shows Owen goading a man into punching him in order to help an abused mother. (Way to go, Owen!) Episode 17 – “Spring Cleaning” – will air on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT.
Season three stars Rob Lowe as Owen Strand, Gina Torres as Tommy Vega, Ronen Rubinstein as T.K. Strand, Sierra McClain as Grace Ryder, and Jim Parrack as Judd Ryder. Natacha Karam plays Marjan Marwani, Brian Michael Smith is Paul Strickland, Rafael Silva is Carlos Reyes, Julian Works is Mateo Chavez, and Brianna Baker plays Nancy Gillian.
“Spring Cleaning” Plot: The 126 respond to emergencies when a man falls into a trash compactor and a frantic mom tries to rescue her kids in a runaway car. Meanwhile, Tommy and Julius grow closer, as two team members disagree on keeping their romance a secret.
The Season 3 Plot:
In the third season, a slight time-jump takes place after the events of the previous season finale found the 126 shut down and the crew dispersed across the city. In the multi-episode opening storyline, a massive and unexpected arctic front hits Austin. As the ice storm causes widespread chaos, Owen and Tommy must not only save the city but find a way to resurrect and reunite the former 126.
Manny Montana as Manny and JD Pardo as EZ Reyes in ‘Mayans M.C.’ season 4 episode 4 (Photo by Prashant Gupta/FX)
FX’s Mayans M.C. season four episode four opens with Randall on death’s door. Manny (Manny Montana) and EZ (JD Pardo) realize why Angel shot him, and Manny tells the older Reyes brother he did the right thing. EZ takes in the big picture and knows this is going to screw up things between the Mayans and El Banquero.
It’s revealed Noah isn’t Randall’s son. Randall deserved what he got.
Manny puts another bullet into Randall’s nearly dead body, finishing the job Angel started. “Let the coyotes take care of this piece of sh*t,” says a disgusted Manny.
Morning arrives and Coco (Richard Cabral) and Hope are still clean and still living together. She asks for a ride home from work that evening because it’s a sketchy area and Coco agrees. They kiss and he heads off to the club.
The club meets and Canche (Jimmy Gonzales) demands to know who pulled the trigger. After a brief pause, Angel (Clayton Cardenas) admits he did, but Manny adds that he finished him off. EZ steps forward and says it was his call since he’s the ranking officer.
Canche’s controlled but furious, blaming Marcus (Emilio Rivera) for giving power to EZ. Marcus stands up for his guys, informing Canche they don’t run protection for pedophiles and telling EZ, Manny, and Angel they did the right thing. He gavels the meeting to a close, but Canche has to have the last word.
“What they did, Padrino, is kill the pipeline and maybe every motherf**ker in this room,” says Canche.
Marcus tells his Santo Padre guys to stay seated to deliver some news which Angel takes incredibly badly. Nestor (Gino Vento) is their new prospect! He looks weird in a Mayans cut and Angel orders him to get him a beer, calling him a French braid little b*tch.
The guys are hanging out in the clubhouse when Canche orders Manny to return to his true family in Yuma. He doesn’t like Manny getting so close to Santo Padre and, in particular, EZ.
Manny says his goodbyes to EZ and seems genuinely sorry to leave. (I take back what I said about Manny’s ulterior motives in episode 3.) He jokes about EZ stabbing him and throwing him off the roof but doesn’t have any hard feelings.
“You’re a good dude, EZ Reyes,” says Manny.
“You too, Manny,” replies EZ.
Coco has a one-on-one with Marcus and Marcus acknowledges Coco’s been putting in the work and staying clean. Marcus gives Coco a special assignment to head to Oakland and represent Santo Padre with the fallen brothers. If he gets it right, Marcus will give him back his bottom rocker.
Bishop (Michael Irby) continues to drink heavily and stew about the state of the club.
EZ stops Canche before he can leave and again takes all the blame for Randall’s death. He wants to make sure Canche’s not blaming Manny for what went down. Canche believes it was probably all Angel’s fault (he calls him EZ’s idiot brother) and EZ reminds him he put them out there with a guy who raped kids.
“Oh, now you’re a f**king advocate for child safety?” says Canche.
EZ wants to put their personal beef behind them for the good of the club. He knows they need to figure out what to do about El Banquero, but Canche’s not having any of this. He will never forgive EZ for going after his kid and points out EZ’s not even willing to help his own president who’s currently drinking himself to death at the bar while EZ wears his flash.
“You’ll never be anything but a walking dead man to me,” snarls Canche.
Marcus has stepped outside to watch the exchange and after it’s over he and EZ return to the table to talk. EZ admits he doesn’t know why Marcus made him VP and Marcus explains it’s because EZ has a good vision of what the club can be. However, he lacks knowledge of their history and rules.
Marcus started the club so they’d have something of their own. EZ needs to understand Mayans M.C. history to grasp what it means to wear the club’s cut.
“Like my friend Jax once said, ‘Forget the past and you’re doomed to repeat it,’” says Marcus. (Love the shoutout to Jax Teller!)
EZ corrects Marcus and says the quote actually comes from Jorge Santayana. (I always forget EZ has a photographic memory until he says something like this. Obviously, I don’t share that trait.)
Marcus gives EZ the Mayans M.C. history book and tells him to read it.
Jess (Grace Rizzo) spills some beer and Taza (Raoul Max Trujillo) and Tranq (Frankie Loyal) ask if she’s okay. She’s jittery but says she’s fine. Taza confesses to Tranq he doesn’t even recognize the club anymore and Tranq believes they’re being tested. He’s not sure they’ll make it.
Cielo (Mia Danelle) thinks Jess is still sick and sends her home. Jess steps outside and calls the VP of Sons of Anarchy’s San Bernardino charter. (Recall in season four episode two she found Montez’s SoA coat in a barrel on Santo Padre’s property.) She’s nervous about spying on Santo Padre and tries to back out but he won’t let her. She finally tells him she may have heard something useful.
EZ tries to mend the relationship with Bishop, but Bishop suggests he shove his apology up his ass. EZ punches Bishop in the face, knocking him from his chair. He tells Bishop he needs to respect his VP and tells the guys who hold Bishop back to educate their ex-president.
“I got the internship! Company isn’t as good as the carniceria but there’s less blood. I miss you.”
EZ shows up at his dad’s butcher shop and all the shelves are empty. As his dad makes his way into the front of the shop EZ picks up the postcard from Gaby. He takes off before they can talk, leaving the postcard behind on the floor.
Vincent Rocco Vargas as Gilberto “Gilly” Lopez in ‘Mayans M.C.’ season 4 episode 4 (Photo by Prashant Gupta/FX)
In other Mayans news: Creeper (Joseph Raymond Lucero) goes on a date and Gilly (Vincent Vargas) shows up at the birthday party for the son of an old friend. He has a good time catching up and hanging out with his old military buddies and is told not to wait so long before his next visit.
He admits the M.C. is the closest thing he could find to a brotherhood stateside. Gilly’s friend tries to soothe his conscience and it’s revealed he has PTSD from something that happened during a tour of duty.
Canche makes the trip to Mexico and apologizes to El Banquero (Guillermo Garcia) for Randall’s death. He promises the Mayans will do whatever it takes to make it up to him, reminding him they have a good thing going. El Banquero responds by shooting the television.
El Banquero doesn’t say a word and Canche backs slowly out of the cartel leader’s house.
Four episodes in and we finally catch up with Miguel Galindo (Danny Pino). He looks nothing like his normally well-put-together self and is making a rock wall in an old cemetery. Miguel notices a kid – Tomas – watching him from the bushes and shows off his juggling skills. Minutes later Miguel launches into an explanation of why he’s building a wall, saying the dead need to be cared for too.
It’s revealed Miguel’s gone to ground at a convent where his aunt is a nun. They have a good relationship and joke about him needing to confess his sins. Apparently, he’s always been her favorite nephew and was a precocious child.
Later that day Miguel’s past appears to have caught up with him. Truckloads of armed men arrive at the convent and Miguel’s forced to hide as the nuns attempt to calm the situation.
The men demand “Martin” and his son, Tomas, saying they’ve crossed the LNG. So, they haven’t discovered Miguel’s hideout after all.
Miguel’s aunt is able to get them to leave without any bloodshed.
Night falls and back at the clubhouse the Reyes brothers chat on the porch. There’s some good-natured teasing – Angel calls his bro a nerd – and they seem relaxed. However, Angel gets serious when he says he needs to make sure he doesn’t screw things up with Nails. EZ admits, reluctantly, Nails actually likes Angel and isn’t going anywhere. He tells his big bro to go home and Angel sort of considers the suggestion.
Hope leaves work and expects Coco to pick her up. He’s a no-show.
Angel arrives home and Nails whispers his dad’s there and he’s brought a cake. She leaves them to talk without taking a piece and the atmosphere is awkward, to say the least, as Angel and Felipe eat.
Marcus is attempting to have a relaxing night at home, surrounded by his kids and ready to watch a movie. Marcus is old-school and wonders why they just can’t watch something on the VCR when his wife, Diana, tells him to switch it to Apple TV. His daughter, Tessa, asks, “What’s a VCR?”
Marcus has got to feel like a dinosaur with that comment. He replies, “You’re killing me, Tess.”
It gets a little tense when Diana reveals she’s invited Bishop for dinner next week. She thinks he’s in a lot of pain and could use their friendship.
EZ interrupts family night and tells Marcus he’s “tired of small men hijacking this club.” EZ’s read the rule book/history of the Mayans and believes Canche and Bishop are trying to destroy everything Marcus has built.
EZ wants to active the kill-switch clause which allows any president to be removed if there’s a unanimous vote against them. “You’re always talking to me about brotherhood. Why not give the power back to the brothers? Reinstate the kill-switch,” says EZ.
EZ believes it could stop a repeat of what went down between Bishop and Canche. Plus, it can protect the club’s future.
Season four episode four ends with the President and VP of SoA San Bernardino meeting. Although the president was against the idea of war with the Mayans, the discovery of Montez’s coat in a barrel full of lye outside of Santo Padre’s clubhouse has changed things. Chibs has given the green light to go to war with the Mayans. They’ll attack while the Mayans are busy with their fallen brothers/day of the dead stuff.

The cast is led by RJ Cyler, Donald Elise Watkins, and Sebastian Chacon. Sabrina Carpenter, Maddie Nichols, Madison Thompson, and Diego Abraham also star in the R-rated comedy. Carey Williams directs from a screenplay Oscar nominee K.D. Dávila (Best Live Action Short Film, Please Hold).
Amazon Studios has set a May 20, 2022 theatrical release followed by a May 27th release on Prime Video.
Prime Video’s official Emergency synopsis:
“Kunle and his best friend, Sean, are both seniors in college about to embark on an epic night of Spring Break parties. Sean has the whole night planned out, including every party they will hit on their ‘legendary tour’. Kunle is down but mostly concerned with finishing up his mold experiment in his lab, as his acceptance to Princeton is hinging on the results. They return to their apartment to pre-game, but find that their roommate, Carlos, left the door open.
As they enter with trepidation, Sean and Kunle discover a drunk, semi-conscious white girl they don’t know on the floor and an oblivious Carlos, who didn’t hear her come in over the videogame blaring in his ears. Kunle wants to call the cops but Sean vehemently opposes the idea, concerned how it will look when the cops show up (two black men, one Latinx man, and a passed-out white woman).
Together, Carlos, Sean, and Kunle load the girl (who they nickname Goldilocks, but whose real name is Emma) into Sean’s van, with the intention of taking her somewhere safe rather than calling the police. Meanwhile, Emma’s sister, Maddy, has realized that Emma left the party they were at, and begins to search for her in a drunk panic using Emma’s phone’s location. What ensues is a chaotic, hilarious, and tension-filled chase all over town as our trio grapples with their differences while attempting to bring Emma to safety.”

But after a brief moment of celebration, they realize things aren’t exactly (okay, not at all) how they left them. Enter the Sparrow Academy. Smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, the Sparrows immediately clash with the Umbrellas in a violent face-off that turns out to be the least of everyone’s concerns.
Navigating challenges, losses, and surprises of their own – and dealing with an unidentified destructive entity wreaking havoc in the Universe (something they may have caused) — now all they need to do is convince Dad’s new and possibly better family to help them put right what their arrival made wrong. Will they find a way back to their pre-apocalyptic lives? Or is this new world about to reveal more than just a hiccup in the timeline?
The opening to Netflix’s Ozark season four episode 10 takes us back to that heartbreaking moment when Wendy (Laura Linney) had her own brother killed in season three. Ben (Tom Pelphrey) is sitting in the diner waiting for Wendy to come back from the restroom. When she doesn’t return, he heads outside and finds Navarro’s man waiting for him.
After pleading for his life, Ben has no choice but to go with him. As they drive, Ben begins to have a breakdown. When he finally pulls himself together, he tells this hired killer about his childhood, about how Wendy loved him more than anything. He asks the man to tell Wendy he’s sorry and that he forgives her. The man forces Ben into what appears to be an abandoned barn and kills him.
As the audience sees Marty (Jason Bateman) traveling to Mexico, we hear Navarro’s voice telling Marty his man Nelson will protect him and his priest will give him legitimacy. However, the rest is up to Marty. Marty will have to make them trust and fear him. He’ll have to convince them he’s not just some messenger boy.
As Marty’s shown to his room we hear Navarro say, “Oh, and they will kill you.”
Wendy receives a call from Marty assuring her he’s fine and she excitedly tells Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) her dad just called and that he’s okay. Charlotte’s only response is a glare.
Marty enters a room where Navarro’s men are waiting and begins by letting them know he was with their boss yesterday. Omar sent him there to inform them Javi Elizondro is dead. Javi’s mother, Camila (Omar Navarro’s sister), is in the room and one of Navarro’s men assumes it was the rival cartel that took him down. Marty corrects them and says Navarro did it.
Marty reveals Javi was a traitor and was making a deal with the US government to bring down their cartel. Also, Javi’s the one who got Navarro arrested.
When they ask who’ll run things now, Marty assures them Navarro will. Of course, they want to know how he’ll do that from prison. Marty dons his boss pants and lets them know he’ll get Navarro out of prison. Understandably, they want to know how he’s going to do that. Marty declares it will happen because that’s what he wants.
“I wanted Navarro to win the cartel war. Who won the cartel war? Now I want him out of prison, so I’m going to get him out of prison,” says Marty.
Right before Marty leaves the room, he tells them he’s going to want to meet with them individually to discuss their business in each of their territories. They’ll need to bring their accountants and their books.
Camila (Veronica Falcón) stops Marty as he’s leaving the meeting and he expresses his sorrow about the loss of her son. Marty claims he doesn’t know how much he can tell her but he can say it was quick. She admits because of the way Javi would talk about her brother she knew this day would come. She lost her father and her husband to this life as well and asks if Marty’s sure he can really get her brother out of prison. He is, and explains about the SDN list and that his wife is working through her foundation to get him off that list and moved back to Mexico.
Wendy shows up at Ruth’s (Julia Garner) trailer and tells her she hasn’t thought this through (meaning Ruth going into business with Clare). Ruth assures her she doesn’t need her advice. Wendy wonders what will happen if Clare likes her product so much that she wants more. Wendy also questions whether Ruth’s prepared to grow illegal opium, asking if that’s what she wants her life to be.
Wendy tries to get Ruth to partner with the Byrdes, explaining that the deal would have to include Ruth telling Clare she has to go through with the donations to the foundation. Ruth asks why she would do that and Wendy replies, “Because you owe us.” That’s rich coming from Wendy since Ruth’s family was killed because of the Byrdes…but sure, Ruth owes them. Ruth refuses to do it.
Acting out of anger, Wendy goes to the sheriff’s office to rat out Ruth and finds a new person in the office, Deputy Wycoff (Brad Carter), as Acting Sheriff. She explains she wants to report a crime before it happens, playing on the fact that sheriff is a political position.
He acts on the tip and heads to the Lazy-O Motel to look for Ruth but instead finds an awkward Sam Dermody (Kevin L. Johnson). Deputy Wycoff informs him that he’s heard Ruth used to be in business with Darlene. Sam claims not to know; he just checks in guests. He asks Sam if he does the books for the motel and Sam points him in the right direction to who does.
Deputy Wycoff pays Jonah (Skylar Gaertner) a visit and is surprised to find out that he’s Ruth’s bookkeeper. He wonders if Jonah’s mom knows about all of this and tells him he needs to ask some questions, like what kind of bookkeeping he does. Jonah gives him the basics. Deputy Wycoff asks if he ever did any bookkeeping for Darlene or if Ruth ever asked him to do anything for Darlene. At just that moment Nathan (Richard Thomas), Jonah’s grandpa, comes walking up wanting to know why Wycoff’s questioning a minor without a guardian present. Wycoff notes that now that Nathan’s there, they can go inside so he can continue to ask Jonah questions. But, in this case, it’s grandpa to the rescue! He tells the deputy he doesn’t think so. And, besides that, he and Jonah are just about to go to lunch.
Marty’s going over financial reports with a few of Navarro’s men when he gets a call from Wendy asking if he’s doing okay. After filling her in on how it’s going in Mexico, he asks how it’s going with Clare. She confirms Ruth wouldn’t help (gee, wonder why?) so she tipped off the new sheriff. The look on Marty’s face indicates he’s not thrilled about that but, of course, he doesn’t say anything. Wendy informs him she’s going to pay Jim Rattelsdorf a visit. Marty’s surprised by this considering that Jim told them he never wanted to see them again.
Jim (Damian Young) is obviously not thrilled to see Wendy but lets her in his house anyway. He reminds her he had to watch a psychotic drug lord beat up her husband in his living room and then lie to his own husband as to why he couldn’t meet him for lunch. Jim doesn’t want to work for her but she has a feeling that’s not entirely true. She explains he doesn’t have to worry about Javi anymore because he’s dead and Navarro is the one who killed him. She fills him in on their plan to get Navarro back to Mexico and back to fully running the cartel.
Wendy assures him they can do all of it but to do so she needs the full power of their board of directors. Jim reminds her they won’t fall in line unless she has donations coming in. She wants Jim to help her get donations by getting them all to attend a fundraiser at the casino by the end of the week.
Mel locates the officer who questioned Wendy and Ben. She remembers them and recalls Ben saying the Mexican cartel was after them. Mel asks if it was Omar Navarro and the officer’s shocked Ben’s story might have been true. Mel asks what Wendy said and she remembers her explaining that Ben had a mental illness. The officer agrees to help Mel out by getting him surveillance footage from along the 50.
Ruth rents a U-Haul and notices a black car watching her. After it follows her to the Snell farm, an angry Ruth shows up at the police station and confronts the deputy. She’s upset he spoke with her employees and that he’s having her followed. He reveals he got a big tip that she’s about to make a big mistake. Ruth isn’t stupid and knows he’s in Wendy’s pocket.
Next, Ruth visits Frank Jr. (Joseph Sikora) and confirms she got rid of the gun he gave her. She needs another favor and asks for his help moving heroin because the local cops are onto her. She admits she thinks the Byrdes are messing with her. Frank tells her he never pegged her as a Darlene Snell wannabe; he always thought she was a Marty Byrde Jr. She doesn’t like that comment.
Marty’s going through one of Navarro’s men’s financials when he discovers there’s a cash flow discrepancy. The accountant claims it wasn’t him but his boss beats him anyway.
Meanwhile, Navarro (Felix Solis) is walking down the hall in prison when suddenly he’s shanked by a man several times. He’s injured but ends up getting the upper hand and strangles the man.
Wendy calls Marty to tell him about what happened to Navarro. She reveals he’s in a coma and doesn’t know when he’ll wake up.
Omar’s sister comes to talk to Marty about the attack in prison and it’s obvious he doesn’t want anyone to know Omar’s in a coma. Marty dodges the truth and tells Camila he is strong and he took down the man who tried to kill him. She briefly looks surprised. Marty asks about one of Navarro’s men, Cabrera, and Camila says she’s known him since he was a boy. Marty informs her he caught him cheating the cartel. Camila confesses Javi never trusted Cabrera.
Marty has Cabrera taken to the same hole he was once held in. Cabrera’s tortured but refuses to say he ordered the hit on Navarro.
Nathan visits his daughter and gives her missing persons flyers to put up for Ben. He wonders how Jonah’s doing and if he’s upset. When Wendy looks puzzled, he asks if Jonah told her about the sheriff. He lets her in on the fact the sheriff was interrogating her son at the hotel. She seems pleased Jonah was questioned and asks if Nathan knows what the sheriff was after. He doesn’t know and doesn’t care. His concern is for her son and it should be her concern too.
Back in Mexico, Cabrera continues to be beaten and tortured. Marty stops them and steps outside for a moment. The priest finds him and they have a conversation about God.
Ruth gets in the U-Haul and heads back to the Snell place while still being followed. The cops watch as she loads items into the back of the truck. They stop her at the end of the driveway and she explains she was getting her cousin’s things out of the house. When they open the U-Haul, they don’t find what they’re looking for because Ruth isn’t stupid.
While Ruth’s U-Haul’s being searched Frank Jr’s men are at the barn loading up the drugs.
Jonah’s passing out flyers and Wendy asks for some so she can help pass them out. Wendy then spots her dad’s girlfriend Annalise and Charlotte selling baked goods. Wendy asks for a favor from Charlotte, requesting she attend the fundraising dinner. Even though Charlotte isn’t happy with her mom for making her dad go to Mexico, she agrees to help her out anyway.
Ruth shows up at the search headquarters and asks Wendy if she’s proud of herself. She knows Ben won’t be coming back and yet she’s got her kids out there lying to everyone. Wendy says no one asked Ruth to be part of the search, and Ruth lets her know that indeed someone did ask her to be there – Wendy’s father. Ruth is over listening to Wendy and informs her that her little plan with the sheriff didn’t work and her deal with Shaw is over. She warns Wendy to stay out of her business.
Wendy and Charlotte’s planning session for the fundraising dinner is interrupted when Jim breaks the news the dinner isn’t happening. Shaw Medical pulled out and will not be donating. He reminds her she needs money to get people on her side and they only have one more crack at this.
Wendy leaves another threatening voice message for Clare warning her if she’s not happy then the people she works for aren’t happy. Wendy will give her one more chance to fix this.
Marty continues to have Cabrera tortured while demanding he admits he ordered a hit on Navarro. Cabrera finally admits to messing with the books but swears he didn’t order a hit.
A short while later Cabrera’s had enough and takes the blame, confessing he ordered the hit.
