Fox’s Lucifer season three episode 23 was one of the season’s most emotionally gut-wrenching for Lucifans. Lucifer spent the episode determined to get things back to normal with Chloe, while Chloe concentrated on solving a murder case that was tied to Charlotte’s past. Charlotte and Amenadiel spent a lot of time trying to figure out whether it was possible for her to go to Heaven and, unfortunately, by the end of the episode we learned the answer. Charlotte moved in front of Amenadiel, saving his life after Pierce fired on them from a nearby hiding spot. Amenadiel’s wings returned and he carried Charlotte to Heaven.
Episode 23 also found Lucifer admitting, again, that he’s the Devil and Chloe once again not taking him literally. They shared a romantic kiss before being interrupted with the news of Charlotte’s death.
