Sam and Dean struggled to come to terms with the loss of Castiel, Crowley, and their mom in The CW’s Supernatural season 13’s first episode. They also had to deal with a teenage Jack who was found naked and trying to order a father off a drive-thru window at a fast food restaurant. And, it turns out it’s nearly impossible to hurt Jack, who hasn’t learned to control his powers and believes Castiel is his father. Dean prayed to Chuck to bring Castiel, Mary, and even Crowley back, but Chuck apparently isn’t listening. Castiel remained dead and the brothers believe their mom had been killed by Lucifer. However, it turns out Lucifer was going to kill Mary but decided at the last second to keep her alive because he thinks he needs her.

Up next, Supernatural season 13 episode two directed by Thomas J. Wright from a script by Eugenie Ross-Leming and Brad Buckner. Titled “The Rising Son,” episode two airs on October 19, 2017 at 8pm ET/PT.

The season 13 cast includes Jensen Ackles as Dean, Jared Padalecki as Sam, Misha Collins as Castiel, Mark Pellegrino as Lucifer, Alexander Calvert as Jack, and Samantha Smith as Mary Winchester.

“The Rising Son” Plot: WHAT EVIL THIS WAY COMES… — Sam (Padalecki) and Dean (Ackles) begin to explore what Jack (Calvert) is capable of doing with his powers. An unexpected visit from Donatello (guest star Keith Szarbajka) alerts the boys to the fact that Jack will need more protection than the Winchesters can provide. There is a new Prince of Hell in town, Asmodeus (guest star Jeffrey Vincent Parise), and with Lucifer (Pellegrino) out of the picture, he sets his sights set on Jack.

The Season 13 Plot: The exciting journey of the Winchester brothers continues as Supernatural enters its thirteenth season. Sam and Dean have encountered every kind of supernatural threat, facing down monsters, demons, and gods. Saving people, hunting things, and keeping the world safe. In the show’s twelfth season, the Winchesters were reunited with their long-dead mother, and joined forces with the British arm of the Men of Letters. But things turned from bad to worse, with the return of Lucifer and the surprising revelation that the Devil is expecting a child. Now, Sam and Dean find themselves facing a creature of almost unimaginable power… one that could save the world… or destroy it.
