The CW’s Walker season two ended on a cliffhanger that found Cordell kidnapped and tied up in the back of a van. Season three episode one, “World on a String,” begins right after the events of season two’s finale, with everyone hustling to get Cord back safe and sound.
Season three episode one airs on October 6, 2022, and in a recent interview with TVLine, series star and executive producer Jared Padalecki confirmed we’ll find out what’s going on fairly quickly. “Certainly in the season three premiere, we’ll get a glimpse of just how much trouble Cord is in, if there’s any way for him to get out or if he’s gonna need help…and how help would even get to him or find him.”
In addition to Jared Padalecki as Cordell Walker, the season three cast includes Coby Bell as Captain Larry James, Ashley Reyes as Cassie Perez, Keegan Allen as Liam, Violet Brinson as Stella, and Jeff Pierre as Trey Barnett. Also returning are Mitch Pileggi as Bohnam, Kale Culley as August, Molly Hagan as Abeline, and Odette Annable as Geri Broussard.
“World on a String” Plot: Picking up where we left off in season 2, it’s graduation day and the Walker family is turning a corner into a seemingly hopeful future that is until Cordell (Padalecki) goes missing, and his mysterious captors are trying to break him down physically and mentally. Meanwhile, Captain James (Bell), Cassie (Reyes) and the rest of the Rangers have all hands on deck to bring Cordell home safely but Stella (Brinson) has ideas of her own on how she can help.
Episode one was directed by Steve Robin from a script by Seamus Kevin Fahey and Anna Fricke.
