Fox’s Lucifer was represented at the 2017 WonderCon by Lesley-Ann Brandt (‘Mazikeen’), Rachael Harris (‘Dr. Linda Martin’), Kevin Alejandro (‘Dan Espinoza’), executive producer Joe Henderson, and executive producer Ildy Modrovich. The Lucifer gang participated in a panel during WonderCon and also took part in roundtable interviews to shed a little light on what’s in store for the remainder of season two. Prior to Lesley-Ann Brandt sitting down at our table, the small group of journalists had been discussing how much we enjoy watching Maze and Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) interact, which led to a discussion of the unlikely pair when Brandt joined our table.

We’d love to see a spin-off or web series featuring Maze and Trixie.

Lesley-Ann Brandt: “Really? That would be cool, right? The mischief those two would get into. Trouble!”

We’re getting to know Maze better this season. How have you enjoyed her arc in season two?

Lesley-Ann Brandt: “It’s been very rewarding. I think I’ve been able to take a character that could very easily just as soon be a badass and one-note, and give her layers and points of view that maybe the audience didn’t really expect to see so much humanity come through this season. So, that’s been really fun to explore. And I think the writers have just been very smart about giving her as many facets as possible and, in that, making her relatable. Like the friendship with Linda is super relatable to women. It’s like two strong women. Coming out as a demon – a lot of people from the gay community were like, ‘Oh my god, I’ve had that conversation with friends. I can relate.’ So that’s been really cool.”

What was your reaction when you read the script and it said you’re moving in with Chloe?

Lesley-Ann Brandt: “I was like, ‘How are they going to make this work?’ I mean, you’d never expect from the pilot episode to throwing my sex toys and my sex swing away. But, really, honestly, I think they saw the chemistry with me and Scarlett and the antagonistic relationship I had with Chloe [played by Lauren German], and that would be an interesting dynamic to throw in there. I think they were clever how they introduced it and where they’ve taken it to.”

Do you have a favorite Maze trait?

Lesley-Ann Brandt: “Her loyalty to her friends or people that she cares about. I think that’s my most relatable trait actually to her as Lesley-Ann. You see that more and more with those relationships like Trixie and Chloe. [Season] two 16 I pretend to be a lesbian lover with Chloe and it’s super fun. I help her. It’s cool.”

How does Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) being gone impact Maze? What is it like for her when season two returns?

Lesley-Ann Brandt: “Well I don’t think she’s really happy that she doesn’t know what’s going on, but it’s not unusual. He’s done this before. It hits Chloe more, I think, than anyone else because of the nature of their relationship, how close they’ve got, and obviously what’s happened – the kiss and their things. I think she’s probably more annoyed that she doesn’t know what the big picture is, and that comes to a head in 217.”

How does she feel about Amenadiel?

Lesley-Ann Brandt: “I think they will always be connected in the sense that she did take his virginity. But, I think she’s not a girl who’s hung up on one specific thing. Do you know what I mean? The thing that you find out about demons in our show is they have no souls so they live in the moment and they go with the flow. That’s very much what the character is. And, I think they’re always connected because of that and the fact that at the end of the episode he’s decided to stay and help and be a part of the team. I think that there’s an element of respect there, not just the goodie two shoes angel, daddy’s son.

But, I don’t know where they’re going to take the romantic relationship. I know fans really love seeing those two together, and I definitely enjoy working with D.B. [Woodside]. So, maybe they’ll introduce another love interest for Maze and that might cause a little friction or tension. I don’t know. That’s not actually a tease – I don’t know.”

Is there anything you can tease about the season’s finale?

Lesley-Ann Brandt: “There’s some real heavy stuff with Maze and Linda. Like some [knife through the heart stuff], really heart-wrenching which was so much fun to play. And obviously God, which was announced, God comes down – or is he God? Don’t know. I can’t say too much. We just had a little powwow and they’re like, ‘Don’t say this. Don’t say that.’”

Will there be a Maze-centric episode?

Lesley-Ann Brandt: “There is. It’s called ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mazikeen Smith’ and as you know our scripts are named after a line that’s in the script. It’s super cool because I get to lead an episode and you really get to see kind of like… it’s tied into her bounty hunting somewhat but you definitely get to see 40 different sides of Maze in that episode. It was just physically fun to do because I was pregnant, fighting and beating up boys, which is cool but hard.”

Do you and Scarlett Estevez get into hijinks off screen?

Lesley-Ann Brandt: “I love Scarlett so much. We’ve had playdates with our dogs. It’s tricky with her because she has to do school. She’ll finish a scene and then the rules are she has to do 20 minutes of school so she has to go straight to her tutor. But, she is really sweet. She always wants to feel the baby. I’ve told her to think of some names to help me.

She’s a very sweet kid. I’ve always wondered how parents do that with kids in the business but Sam, her mother, and her dad, they’ve done such an amazing job. She’s the most normal, down-to-earth, little girl you’ll ever meet who’s still very much a kid. But then come action, she’s so professional and knows her lines. Yeah, she’s definitely one of my favs.”

‘Once Upon a Time’ Season 6 Episode 16 Recap: Mother’s Little Helper

Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 16
Jennifer Morrison and Giles Matthey in ‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6 episode 16 (ABC/Jack Rowand)

Season six episode 16 of ABC’s Once Upon a Time opens with the Black Fairy (Jaime Murray) carrying baby Gideon into the mines. She says he’s precious and not meant to work in the mines, and she hands him over to be cared for. She tosses out the copy of Her Handsome Hero signed by Belle, calling it a remnant of the past that Gideon doesn’t need.

At the end of episode 15, Gideon (Giles Matthey) appeared at Emma’s door immediately after she received a message from Hook telling her he loves her, didn’t leave her voluntarily, and that Gideon was behind his disappearance. Gideon wants Emma (Jennifer Morrison) to help him kill the Black Fairy, and if she does then she can have Hook back. He’s put a protection spell around Hook, but Emma’s not backing down. She attacks Gideon and he tells her nothing frightens him since he was raised by the depraved Black Fairy. He swore to protect children and isn’t the bad guy she believes him to be, but still, he won’t let Hook go until she helps him.

And now we see Gideon as a child, reading from Her Handsome Hero to another boy who’s locked up in the adjacent cell. He hides the book when the Black Fairy approaches, but she knows he has the book. Gideon knows his real mother gave it to him, but the Black Fairy angrily claims she’s his real mother. Then she says his real mother might be a hero, but he’s not. She steps into the cell with the other boy and drags him out. She leaves Gideon’s cell door unlocked but instead of rushing to help the boy, he cowers in his cell.

Emma and Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) visit Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and Gold (Robert Carlyle), and Emma’s ready to kill Gideon if he keeps screwing with her life. She lets Belle and Gold know Gideon banished Hook and now she’s forced to help him kill the Black Fairy. Gold admits the Black Fairy is his mother and that she stole baby Gideon from the Blue Fairy. He adds that the Black Fairy tortured Gideon for 28 years, and Belle says Gideon was not born evil but has been made this way. Belle believes Gideon will be on the side of good if Emma helps him. Gold wants to kill the Black Fairy before she can break free from the other realm because she’s the original source of all darkness. They must stop her or else she’ll bring far worse to Storybrooke.

Henry (Jared Gilmore) pays a visit to his mom (Lana Parrilla) and she’s busy trying to break Snow and David’s sleeping curse. It’s the only curse Regina hasn’t been able to undo yet, and she asks Henry to head to Emma’s shed and grab some ingredients. When he begins to write them down, he’s suddenly possessed by something/someone. His eyes turn milky and he begins rapidly drawing symbols in his notebook.

The Black Fairy summons Gideon, telling him it’s his birthday. She says she’s proud of his magical abilities and then she pats her dress and can’t find the key to her vault. She sends Gideon into the mines, telling him to make whoever stole it pay.

Back in Storybrooke, Gideon’s reading his book in the clock tower when Emma shows up for a chat. She says he has the look of someone who needs hope, just like Henry looked many years ago. She’s still not over the fact he tried to kill her, but if he hands over the sword and gives her the spell to get Hook back, she’ll help him. He agrees and she declares, “Let’s get my pirate back.”

Speaking of the handsome pirate, he’s interrupting Blackbeard’s poker game by dumping a bag of jewels on the table. The jewels are from Agrabah and in exchange for them Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) wants a magic bean. Blackbeard (Charles Mesure) won’t make that deal so Hook ups the ante, offering to play a hand of cards with the winner getting the Jolly Roger (Blackbeard is currently ship-less). Deal struck, Hook sits down to play.

Once again to Storybrooke we go and Gideon and Emma are in front of the Sorcerer’s mansion. Gideon says they need to create a portal for Hook to return, and after Emma puts the ingredients together something unexpected happens. Instead of Hook appearing, the Black Fairy has figured out what’s going on and a gigantic spider comes through the portal. Gideon and Emma combine forces and are able to escape.

And now we’re back in the mines again where Gideon is attempting to locate the person who stole his “mother’s” key. No one admits to stealing it and Gideon is about to use magic on an innocent young man when the real thief steps forward. It’s a grown-up Roderick, the boy who was taken away by the Black Fairy all those years ago to prove Gideon wasn’t a hero. He tells Gideon that now he can be the hero he was meant to be if they team up to defeat the Black Fairy.

Meanwhile, Emma and Gideon are hiding in the Sorcerer’s house, trying to figure out their next move. Gideon admits he tried to kill Emma because he didn’t think she would help him go to the other realm and defeat the Black Fairy. He also admits his plan to take on the Savior, kill her, take her powers, and then face the Black Fairy probably wasn’t the best idea. He apologizes and will understand if she just wants to walk away. Their heart-to-heart is broken up by the spider slinging webs at them.

Hook’s losing but won’t give up, and Blackbeard wonders what’s so important that he’d trade the Jolly Roger for a bean. Hook reveals he wants to get back to the woman he loves because she’s in danger, and Blackbeard wins the hand. Game over, Hook leads Blackbeard to the docks where, of course, the ship is definitely not docked. Hook explains he needs the magic bean to get to the realm where both the Jolly Roger and Emma are waiting, accusing Blackbeard of cheating at cards. If he wants to claim the ship, then Blackbeard has to give him the bean. Blackbeard reluctantly gives in, but he demands to go with Hook to retrieve the ship. They jump through the portal together.

Henry comes to and Regina wants to know what the drawings mean. He’s confused and has no idea what they mean or why he made them. Fortunately, Regina thinks she knows who can explain what’s going on – the previous author, Isaac. They visit him in his cell and show him the drawings, and Isaac (Patrick Fischler) admits he’s heard of these sorts of drawings but he never drew them himself. If they want to know what’s going on, they have to free him and allow him to go to New York. Plus, he wants a new car, saying a Lamborghini will do. Regina says she’ll drive the sports car over his head and squish it. Because she’s being difficult, Isaac reiterates the terms of his deal and adds in Hamilton tickets.

Regina and Henry don’t agree to Isaac’s terms and are about to leave when Isaac says, “His author powers are taking over.” Isaac explains that Henry doesn’t really control his powers and the trances will become more frequent and intense.

Emma and Gideon run from the spider, but it continues to chase them.

Back in time in the other realm, Roderick is chained behind Gideon as they walk and talk. Roderick reveals the Black Fairy has always collected dust from the mines and years ago used it to create a terrible spell called the Dark Curse. Roderick doesn’t even want to know what the Black Fairy is collecting it for now, and he won’t tell Gideon what she did to him after being dragged away as a child. Gideon cries, apologizing for being weak. Roderick says now, as adults, they have to stop her. He says they need to use a crystal ball/magical orb to reach the Savior in the other realm. She can help them.

Back at the Sorcerer’s place which is now covered in spider webs, neither Gideon nor Emma can get through the webs and are trapped. Oh, but it’s a trick! Gideon brought the spider to this realm to trap Emma. He takes the sword back from her and says he must kill her to channel her powers. Gideon admits he created the spider but can’t really control it, and he reveals no matter what Hook tries, he won’t be able to return to Storybrooke. Gideon uses his magic to escape, leaving Emma with the spider.

Hook and Blackbeard come through the portal but aren’t in Storybrooke. Hook doesn’t know what’s going on and Blackbeard yells at him about not understanding how to use a magic bean. Hook deduces that dark magic is keeping him from going home to Emma. They both hear a sound and it’s the Lost Boys. They’ve arrived in Neverland.

Gideon returns to the clock tower while Emma struggles against the web. She manages to work herself free and attacks the spider. Unfortunately, it binds her arms and legs before completely wrapping her in a cocoon. She struggles to breathe and then passes out.

Gideon powers up the sword and says, “It’s time, mother.” He slices the air and a portal begins to appear.

The spider drags an unconscious Emma across the floor. As Emma approaches its mouth, Gold arrives to save her. He gently frees her from the web.

The portal closes and Gideon is knocked off his feet, landing on his side on the floor.

Emma’s okay and when the spider attacks again, she and Gold fight it off. They make it return to normal spider size and Emma squishes it. Gold asks where Gideon is and she says Gideon brought the spider there to kill her. She says he can’t be saved and he’s evil.

Back in the other realm, Gideon and Roderick find the orb. They try to reach the Savior but the Dark Fairy interrupts them. It was all a test to see if Gideon was, in fact, a loyal son. She says he was a gift but Gideon reminds her she stole him. She replies, “They abandoned you! I’m the one who took you in!” She’s disappointed in him and for once he stands up to the Dark Fairy. She says he’s not a hero and Gideon reveals he knows she’s hoarding Black Fairy dust and is going to do something horrible with it. He tries to use magic on her but she rips it out of his hand and tosses the dust at Roderick, transforming him into a bug which she stomps on. Gideon promises he’ll find the Savior and make her destroy the Black Fairy with her light magic. The Black Fairy doesn’t seem to be intimidated, saying she knows all about the Savior. She grabs Gideon’s heart and tells him he’ll always do her bidding. She tells him to find the Savior and kill her. When the Savior is dead, the Black Fairy will be freed from this prison.

Hook and Blackbeard run from the Lost Boys, with Hook saying the worst of the Lost Boys are still in Neverland and they have no love for him or anyone else. When Hook and Blackbeard make it to the shore, Blackbeard gets the drop on Hook, hits him on the head, and rows away in the only boat. Hook takes off, on the run once again from the Lost Boys.

Emma and Gold tell Snow and Belle that Gideon played them all. Emma says Gideon is evil and that Gold can’t keep cleaning up his messes after he reminds Emma he just saved her from the spider. Emma says she won’t give Gideon a third chance to kill her, and Gold threatens he’ll do what he has to to stop her from hurting his son. Snow and Emma head home and Belle tells Gold their son is ripping them apart. She thinks Emma’s right and that they’ve lost Gideon, but Gold isn’t ready to give up.

Gideon speaks out loud to himself, telling his “mother” the Savior survived and her plan failed. But not so fast…the Dark Fairy has made it out of her prison realm and to Storybrooke! She explains that even though Emma didn’t die, she came close enough to open the portal. The Dark Fairy slipped through and now she wants to know if there’s a part of Gideon that wanted her to succeed.

Regina, Henry, and Isaac meet at the edge of town. They’ve brought him a vehicle and it’s definitely not of the sports car variety. He agrees to take it, telling her she should leave Storybrooke with Henry if she wants to save him. They ask why and Isaac tells them to take a look at the book. Henry opens it and flips through a few blank pages. “It’s the final chapter,” says Henry, and Isaac says, “So it is. The end of the story.” Henry asks what happens at the end of the book and Isaac replies, “The Savior fights the final battle. And, trust me, no one wants to be around to see that.”

‘Supernatural’ Season 12 Episode 17 Recap: The British Invasion

Supernatural Season 12 Episode 17
Jensen Ackles as Dean and Jared Padalecki as Sam in ‘Supernatural’ season 12 episode 17 (Photo: Dean Buscher © 2017 The CW Network)

The current season of Supernatural is ramping up in preparation for what is sure to be a big blowout in the season 12 finale. At this point, it is hard to tell just which threat will result in the big climatic finish or if it will all hit at once. Episode 17 puts more of the pieces in place, providing plenty of drama and unexpected events.

To start, we are taken back to 1987 as two boys walk into Kendrick’s Academy in London. Neither are sure why the headmistress, Dr. Hess, called them in and they seem rather nervous. She leads the young men into her office where the floor has been covered in plastic and explains that they will be given a test. There is a code followed by the Men of Letters and they need cadets who will execute orders without question. She reveals a dagger on the table as she states that only one of the boys will be leaving the room that day to continue with the academy, then leaves the room. Sometime later, one boy emerges, both he and the dagger covered in blood: Mick Davies.

Back to present day, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are driving back to the bunker while talking to Eileen (Shoshannah Stern), the deaf hunter who helped them with a banshee last season. She’s been on the lookout for Kelly too and found a security camera shot of the woman and Dagon walking into a store before the place was torched. None of them think this is a coincidence. Unfortunately, they still don’t know where Kelly is now because they are always a step behind.

As they arrive back at the bunker, Mick (Adam Fergus) is waiting for them with news that the home office recorded a massive shock wave they should check out. This causes the boys to admit they already knew about it. The place they’d been talking to Eileen about was where it had occurred. They also reveal that Kelly is carrying Lucifer’s child and how they know about it. Mick is horrified at this news, especially that they had her with them and she got away. He feels they should have shot her immediately; it’s what the code taught him to do. Of course, the Winchesters don’t care about his code and tell him that it wasn’t an easy choice. After all, Kelly didn’t know Lucifer was possessing her boyfriend. They also assure Mick that they are handling the situation.

We then flash to Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) as he mentally communicates with Dagon (Ali Ahn), looking for news of his son. The Princess of Hell promises him things are going as well as they can and the baby is fine. He asks about the “container” to be told that it will last as long as is necessary. He’s glad to hear it but warns her not to fail him…again.

Meanwhile, Mick is having nightmares about the boy he had to kill when he was younger and is woken by his phone. It’s Dr. Hess, unhappy after getting the news about the Nephilim and how the hunters handled it. He reminds her that she and the rest of the elders felt getting the Winchesters on board was crucial to their overall goal. She states that this changes their focus, however, and if Dean and Sam won’t help, they should be turned over to Mr. Ketch. Her stance is that the hunters must assimilate or be eliminated.

Sam finds Dean asleep in the kitchen the next morning after drinking with Mick the previous night. Surprisingly, he wasn’t able to keep up and was feeling it. Mick joins the two, looking no worse for wear and as the three chat we find out Mary is out working with Mr. Ketch. We also find out how Mick ended up with the Men of Letters. He never knew his parents, was living on the streets until one day when he picked the pocket of a Man of Letters and ended up with a cursed coin. They thought he had promise and recruited him. Now he feels he owes them his life.

Flashing to Dagon then, the demon is tending to Kelly who is obviously in pain. Kelly wants to see a doctor but the other woman states she is fine. Instead, she says they need to move, having been in the same location for too long. The pregnant woman puts her foot down though, saying she isn’t going anywhere until she sees a doctor and can make sure her baby is safe.

Relenting, Dagon takes her to a doctor. After running some tests, he assures Kelly that her vitals and labs are great, then says they should do a sonogram. Dagon doesn’t look thrilled at the idea of an ultrasound but Kelly eagerly agrees. At first, the baby looks completely normal, but as the doctor takes a closer look something makes him frown. Kelly is alarmed and asks him what’s wrong, but Dagon puts a spell on him so he turns with a big smile saying everything looks great. After they leave, there isn’t any thought of the doctor looking at the chart anymore because he is attacked and killed by what we’re sure is a demon.

Next we’re taken back to Lucifer who’s being talked to by Crowley (Mark Sheppard). The current leader of Hell treats him like a puppy but he doesn’t respond, looking broken and sad instead. The devil takes Crowley by surprise when he gets on his hands and knees, licking the floor then says he’s giving Crowley what he wants, submission. He figured out the rules of the house and feels it’s better to be there than in the cage rotting with Michael. Crowley wins. But do we really believe it?

Of course we don’t. Because Crowley addresses his subjects then in an attempt to gain more loyalty, saying he understands that the thought of Lucifer returning once again has left some working against him behind his back. He reveals Lucifer in chains and appearing tamed, having the fallen angel admit his submission was of his own free will. But then he turns to face the group, still agreeing with Crowley by saying that yes, there is only one true ruler of Hell. He also agrees with Crowley when he says it is him but winks at the group. He then says that if they do not support the one true king they will be destroyed, basically letting them know he is in control without Crowley even realizing it.

Now for a chance to check in with Mary (Samantha Smith) and Arthur Ketch (David Haydn-Jones) as the latter fills Mick in on their success with a group of shapeshifters they took care of. When the call ends, Mary asks about the friendship between the two Brits. He explains that their bond comes from both being survivors during their training as they grew up. The conversation turns to how different her training was, more on-the-job than anything else. It definitely becomes flirtatious as he tells her that he suspects she is drawn to danger.

It certainly becomes more than that as the next we see of the two is some post-nookie chatting where Arthur jokingly tells her he had not expected that to happen with them. His first thought after meeting her was that he would have to kill her. Mary makes sure he doesn’t think that this means more than it does. He says she doesn’t need to worry, neither of them are built for that type of relationship, not all that convincingly however. Mary corrects him, saying she was built for it but that was long ago. Mr. Ketch also reminds her of the choice he’d told her she would have to make: her work or family ties. The comment lights a fire in her, causing her to insist she isn’t making a choice, it doesn’t have to be one or the other. Rather than argue, he says good for her for trying to have it all.

Back to the Winchester brothers, we find Dean leaving a voicemail for Castiel and it’s clear this isn’t the first. Joining Sam in the main area, both brothers talk to Eileen, this time live and in-person. In her investigation, she’d found the information about a vehicle and tracked it to a guy named Dermot. Following where it went, she caught him disposing of the doctor’s body and killed him. But not before finding out that he works for Dagon, covering her tracks. She was also able to get Kelly’s phone number, impressing the Winchesters. Using an accent, Sam calls Kelly claiming that the doctor needs to see her again. Concerned about the baby, Kelly agrees to return to the clinic that afternoon.

Supernatural Season 12 Episode 17

Sam and Eileen meet up with Mick and a newcomer, Renny, at their chosen location to talk to Kelly. Renny has been sent over by Dr. Hess to “help” but even though Mick had told him to help by staying out of the way, the younger man had insisted that was not an option which is why he was tagging along now. After the introductions, where Sam and Eileen make it clear they aren’t impressed with the man’s credentials, Mick gives Sam the Colt to use in case they have to deal with Dagon.

Dean grabs Kelly as she’s about to walk into the clinic, taking her to the others where they all try to convince her that they want to help. Dean reminds her it is Lucifer’s child she is carrying only she snaps back that she knows but this is her baby too and she loves the child. Mick pipes up, saying she’ll mean nothing to him, the child will kill them all. Renny, all about the code, tries to end the conversation by reaching for his gun. Dean stops him, giving the man a threatening look right before the wind begins to blow and lightning flashes. Kelly knows what this means, declaring to the group that Dagon is there.

The powerful demon appears, tossing all of them except Kelly away at once. The Colt got knocked away as well yet as the others recovered, all of their guns are emptied into Dagon, barely slowing her down. Eileen manages to reach the Colt, shooting at Dagon. However, she disappears with the pregnant woman before the bullet reaches her and instead it hits Renny. Eileen is dismayed as the man falls to the ground, dead, and a silence fills the air.

Mick kneels down next to the man for a moment, pulling out his gun as he stands again and raising it at Eileen. She killed a Man of Letters and has to die; it is their code. He feels he has no choice, thoughts flashing back to killing the boy when he was so young. Sam attempts to talk him down, stating that the only code Mick has to answer to is his own. After another tense minute, Mick lowers the gun and tells them to go, which they do.

While that scene breaks up, we’re taken to Lucifer talking to one of the demons alone, stating the guy made the right choice because when the dust settles, only one King of Hell will be left standing and it won’t be Crowley. He has the man looking inside his vessel and is told it is completely sound and built to last. When the devil asks about the security system giving Crowley the power over him, he is told it is still intact, he doesn’t have the means to disarm it and Crowley had killed the one who created it. Lucifer not so kindly encourages the demon to figure out how to crack it. He’s eager to get out and is about to be a dad.

At their hideout, Dagon handcuffs Kelly to the bed while the latter tries to explain that she was only trying to protect the baby. Dagon has had enough of being nice now apparently because she tells the woman that she doesn’t need to, the baby is strong and no matter what happens he will be just fine. She also enjoys admitting that Kelly won’t be, the pains are just a glimmer of what’s to come. Birthing a Nephilim is fatal, always.

The hunters return to the bunker where Eileen breaks down about having killed an innocent human. Both men are sympathetic and Sam says, and signs, that it was a mistake. Giving us more of the vibes that there may be a blossoming romance between her and Sam, she hugs him tight while he holds her close. A bit later, the woman has left, going to Ireland for some time off. Sam hands Dean the Colt and he’s happy to have it back home with them.

Next, we rejoin Mick as he arrives back at his own bunker to find Ketch waiting for him. Asking why Arthur called him there, it’s revealed that he didn’t. Dr. Hess is there in the flesh, tasked by the other elders to fix this mess their project has become. She is more than disappointed that they let a Princess of Hell and the host of Lucifer’s child get away, as well as getting one of their own killed. To make matters worse, Eileen and the Winchester brothers were let go without consequences. Stating the Winchesters are out of control, she insists there will be no more excuses. Hunters are dogs, you give an order and they obey. Asking Mick if they obey him, she already knows the answer, no way. Eileen will be found and killed in accordance with the code, the brothers will be tried and if found guilty, will be executed.

Her statement doesn’t sit well with Mick, who says those put under trial are always found guilty. Dr. Hess warns him to be careful but the bookworm Brit lets out his feelings. He says he’s never disobeyed an order and yes, at first he was appalled by how Sam and Dean handled things, but he also now knows they have accomplished things no one else could simply by their sense of right and wrong.

When she brings up the code and how it is the only thing separating them from the monsters they fight, he continues his tirade by bringing up how the code made him kill his best friend as a child. Before he can rant any more, the conversation ends when Ketch puts a bullet in the back of Mick’s head. The episode ends with Dr. Hess speaking to Mr. Ketch, saying the experiment with the American hunters has failed and telling him to exterminate every last one of the hunters.

‘Gotham’ Season 3 – Camren Bicondova Talks Selina, Bruce, and Upcoming Alliances

Fox’s Gotham will continue season three on April 24, 2017 with episode 15 titled ‘How the Riddler Got His Name.’ With the series about to return, the cast made the trek to the 2017 WonderCon to talk about what’s in store for the remainder of the third season and for Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle, and Edward Nygma in particular. In addition to taking questions from fans during the Gotham panel, the cast, including Camren Bicondova who plays Selina in the comic book-inspired series, participated in roundtable interviews. In our interview, Bicondova discusses Selina’s relationship with Bruce, how Selina’s mother’s betrayal affected her, and who she’d like to see Selina Kyle spend some time with in the future.

Camren Bicondova Interview:

What can we expect to see for Selina in the upcoming episodes? Will there be more relationship stuff or is she on her own?

Camren Bicondova: “It’s a mix of both. In the spring premiere, we see the aftermath of the ‘break-up’ between Selina and [Bruce]. They were never really official! The only person who thought it was official was Bruce [played by David Mazouz]. Selina doesn’t like attachments; she’s all about no strings attached. So, we see the aftermath of that in the spring premiere and then after that it’s Selina trying to find her way through this teenage angst of not knowing what she wants. And, that’s it. That’s the basis of it.”

Will she figure out what she wants?

Camren Bicondova: “No. But she will take a step that will guide her to knowing what she wants.”

Selina’s relationship with her mother is non-existent…

Camren Bicondova: “Or, it’s existent in a very heartbreaking, awful way.”

How does that play into Selina’s behavior for the rest of the season?

Camren Bicondova: “We saw in that scene…it was one of the last scenes of that arc where she figures out that her mother used her for a scam, and the mother’s boyfriend comes in and Selina pulls her knife on him and is about to kill him. She pulls herself out of it and she tells her mother, ‘Don’t ever come back.’ And I think it definitely propels her to this place of darkness, not necessarily this place of villainy but it does put her in this place of again trying to find herself. I think her situation with her mother really tears her apart and she doesn’t want it to. I think that that’s what really pulls her into trying to figure her life out. It’s really the basis of it, you know?”

Will we see Selina working with Tabitha this season?

Camren Bicondova: “I didn’t get to work a lot with Jessica [Lucas] this season. I really didn’t get to work with her at all. But I think towards the end of the season we’ll see how Selina’s confusion will lead her towards that future mentorship.”

Has this been the most interesting season for you to play Selina?

Camren Bicondova: “I think so, yeah. Every season has been really great, but I think this season has been much more of a roller coaster for Selina whereas the past two seasons she was kind of coasting. She was kind of milling through people’s business whereas this season she was focusing on Bruce and then focusing on herself and then her mother came along. Anything that has to do with family always brings out vulnerability in anyone and so for that reason I would say that this season has been the craziest and most fun to work on.”

We’ve heard there’s a big battle coming up that will find everyone working together. Can you tease anything about that?

Camren Bicondova: “Selina always has some shenanigans going on.”

She likes to work the different sides.

Camren Bicondova: “Oh, yeah. It’s the same thing with Bruce. She doesn’t like attachments, but she will do what she needs to stay alive.”

How much more fun is it to play an anti-hero than a straight superhero?

Camren Bicondova: “It’s way more fun. I consider myself a very kind person in real life and I’m very much a square in that when my friends like to go to a party, I want to stay home with my cat and make some cookies – and maybe binge-watch a TV show that I haven’t watched. And, Selina’s very much the opposite of that. She loves being out and figuring things out. She’s very much a problem-solver. I would say that the similarity that we have is that we’re very nosey. I know everything that’s going on, but not everybody knows that I know what’s going on. That’s the same thing with Selina. So, in that case it’s much more fun playing a villain, because they’re much more complex, too. At the heart of it, every villain has either once been a hero or is genuinely a hero and is just treated awfully by society or their peers.”

Is there anyone you’re hoping Selina gets to get a little closer to, besides Tabitha?

Camren Bicondova: “I’ve always thought that it would be cool to have an attraction with Jerome. I’m not saying necessarily a friendship or have an arch-nemesis or anything like that. I think that would be really cool because Cameron Monaghan’s amazing. He’s so talented.”

It would be a cool connection between the two of them.

“I think so too because they’re total opposites. She’s very grounded and he’s all [high-strung]. I think that it would be more of a funny interaction than a brutal one because she would just look at him like he’s stupid. You know, like, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ Just chill. Just child, dude.’”
