It’s only 31 seconds but it’s 31 seconds of Doctor Who goodness… BBC has just put out this teaser trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas Special airing on BBC America on December 25, 2013. And, sadly, “The Time of the Doctor” episode marks the final time we’ll be seeing Matt Smith play the Doctor.
The Plot: “The Doctor must sacrifice everything to save a town called Christmas from the Time Lord’s greatest enemies. A change is going to come, and Silence will fall…”
Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for the sci-fi action thriller Edge of Tomorrow directed by Doug Liman (Mr and Mrs Smith). Based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s All You Need is Kill, Edge of Tomorrow stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, and Bill Paxton.
Edge of Tomorrow opens in theaters on June 6, 2014.
The Plot:
The epic action of Edge of Tomorrow unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world.
Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again.
But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

I’m still recovering from the explosive season six finale of Sons of Anarchy and it appears audiences were very anxious to find out if creator Kurt Sutter would be killing off any major characters as the series finished up this season. [Don’t worry – no spoilers will be included in this article.] In fact, so many SoA fans tuned in that the season six finale set a new record as the series’ most-watched finale.
Episode 13 of season six had 5.2 million viewers tuning in during its first airing. FX reports that an additional 1.2 million viewers tuned in for the encore for a total of 6.4 million viewers. That’s enough to earn it the top spot in the Sons of Anarchy season finale rankings.
In addition, the finale (titled “A Mother’s Work”) is now the second highest-rated episode of the series behind only the season six premiere. Overall, season six has been averaging 7.3 million viewers which makes it the highest-rated season in SoA history.

Yes, that’s Caesar scowling at you on the new poster for 20th Century Fox’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Hitting theaters on July 11, 2014 (a week earlier than it was originally scheduled to arrive), this second film of the new Apes series stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smith-Mcphee, Enrique Muriciano, and Kirk Acevedo.
Matt Reeves directs, with Peter Chernin, Dylan Clark, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver producing.
The Plot:
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

On average, 4.3 million viewers tuned in to the first nine-episode season of History’s Vikings starring Travis Fimmel and created by Michael Hirst. The addictive, gritty drama, which was the #1 new cable series of the year according to History Channel, will return for a second season in February 2014, and the network has just unveiled two new photos from the upcoming season.
Per the History Channel: “In the season premiere, the battle begins between Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and Rollo (Clive Standen). This Viking clash pits brother against brother and there can only be one victor.”

Fans of Showtime’s Californication will have just one more season to enjoy the sexual hijinx of Hank. Showtime’s confirmed that season seven will be the last for the show starring David Duchovny, Natascha McElhone, Madeleine Martin, Evan Handler, and Pamela Adlon. Duchovny also serves as an executive producer on the series along with series creator Tom Kapinos.
Season seven will premiere in April 2014, however, the exact date hasn’t been announced.
“With its unique blend of lyricism and excess, Californication has been one of our groundbreaking signature series,” said David Nevins. “We will always be indebted to Tom Kapinos for leading the creative charge on this memorable comedy, and to David Duchovny for making us root for an unapologetic hedonist like Hank Moody. Tom has carefully planned the final chapter of Hank’s journey and has brought it to a beautiful and satisfying conclusion for new and long-time fans alike.”
Over the previous six seasons, Californication has earned five Emmy nominations, six Golden Globe nominations, and a Screen Actors Guild nomination. Season six averaged 2.9 million viewers.
The Plot:
From his debut in August 2007, Hank Moody quickly became everyone’s favorite unflinchingly honest, self-destructive lothario who bowed at the altar of sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll. The final season will find him joining the writer’s room as his never-released film “Santa Monica Cop” now becomes a television series of the same name. He’s riled frequently by his boss, the show’s old-school executive producer Rick Rath (guest star Michael Imperioli), and his fellow writing team members, including Goldie (guest star Mary Lynn Rajskub) and Alonzo (co-star Alonzo Bodden).
But he’s thrown by the reemergence of old friend Julia (guest star Heather Graham), whose arrival causes chaos in Hank’s already hectic life, and with his on-off relationship with Karen (McElhone). Meanwhile, Charlie (Handler) and Marcy (Adlon) grapple with the aftermath of their reunion and an enticing offer from her ex-husband, Stu Beggs (guest star Stephen Tobolowsky). Rob Lowe, Brandon T. Jackson, Oliver Cooper and Mercedes Masohn will also guest star.
