Only four new episodes remain in the seventh and final season of Paramount+’s military drama SEAL Team. Season seven episode seven, “Mission Creep,” has the team back together and off to Honduras. “Mission Creep” will stream on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

The series follows the lives of the Navy SEALs’ most elite unit as they execute dangerous high-stakes operations to defend their country at a deeply personal cost. In the final season, Jason Hayes (Boreanaz) struggles to balance his warrior’s existence with the responsibilities of single fatherhood. Ray Perry (Brown Jr.), his trusted second in command, questions whether he will be able to leave the battlefield behind as his retirement nears. Dedicated door-kicker Sonny Quinn (Buckley) battles against changing tides as Jason and Ray’s shifting focus means that other teammates must shoulder more responsibility. Both Omar Hamza (Barsoumian) and Drew Franklin (Knapp) find diving into work an effective way to distance themselves from their past traumas.
Vital to mission success is Lieutenant Lisa Davis (Trucks), a no-nonsense officer who ushers the team into a new era of warfare against powerful rivals for supremacy on the world stage. Ripped away from their loved ones at a moment’s notice to be deployed across the globe, Bravo team remains dedicated to their duties. Even in the face of overwhelming odds, they know this is the price to keep the families they left behind safe.

Joshua Jackson stars in Doctor Odyssey, ABC’s new one-hour medical drama set on board a cruise ship. The latest creation of prolific producer Ryan Murphy joins the network’s primetime lineup on September 26, 2024. Season one episodes will air on Thursdays at 9pm ET/PT, after 9-1-1 and before Grey’s Anatomy.
Joshua Jackson (Fatal Attraction) plays Dr. Max Bankman, Phillipa Soo (Shining Girls) is Nurse Avery Morgan, Sean Teale (Little Voice) is Nurse Tristan Silva, and Don Johnson (Rebel Ridge) stars as Captain Robert Massey. Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken write and executive produce the first season. Additional executive producers include Joshua Jackson, Don Johnson, Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, and Nissa Diederich. ABC released this synopsis of the new series:
“From the brilliant mind of Ryan Murphy comes high-octane procedural Doctor Odyssey. Max (Jackson) is the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder. It’s all-hands-on-deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other, miles from shore.”
Writer/executive producer Jon Robin Baitz spoke with EW about what’s in store when viewers tune in. “People spend quite a bit of hard-earned money to go on these cruises, and there’s an element of fantasy fulfillment, but with fantasy fulfillment comes risk and danger,” said Baitz. “On a boat, anything could happen, no matter how safety conscious you are. There’s any number of opportunities for mishaps, and with that comes this wonderful parade of guest stars every episode, like lambs to the slaughter, meekly, joyously walking up the gangplank, not remotely aware of what will befall them.”

FX’s American Horror Story spinoff, American Horror Stories, will return with season four this October. The network confirmed the new season will premiere as part of Hulu’s annual Huluween event on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
Season four will consist of five new scary episodes. The network’s releasing all five episodes of the horror anthology series’ new season at once for those who are into binge-watching.
FX’s premiere date announcement did not include any details on the five episodes – not even the titles. However, they did announce the new season’s cast. Michael Imperioli (The White Lotus), Henry Winkler (Barry), Dyllón Burnside (Pose), Debby Ryan (Jessie), and Jeff Hiller (American Horror Story: NYC) will appear in season four. Jessica Barden (Pieces of Her), Angel Bismark Curiel (Pose), Guy Burnet (3 Body Problem), Victor Garber (Family Law), and June Squibb (Thelma) also star.
Ryan Murphy, Alexis Martin Woodall, Max Winkler, Jon Robin Baitz, Brad Falchuk, and Manny Coto serve as executive producers.
The teaser for Neon’s Presence opens with the camera panning down to a house. Wording appears that reads: “In this house there is a family. In this house there are secrets. In this house there are unimaginable acts.” As the camera nears the front door, the final message appears: “In this house there is a…” The screen fades to black and the film’s title appears.
Creepy? Yes. Also, other than the fact there’s a house with a lot of history, the teaser gives away nothing. Neither does the synopsis provided by Neon: “A family moves into a suburban house and becomes convinced they’re not alone.”
The cast includes Lucy Liu, Chris Sullivan, Callina Liang, Julia Fox, Eddy Maday, and West Mulholland. Steven Soderbergh directs from a screenplay by David Koepp. Koepp and Corey Bayes serve as executive producers. Soderbergh’s behind-the-scenes team includes production designer April Lasky, costume designer Marci Rodgers, and himself as editor and cinematographer.
NBC is filling the medical drama void left by the end of New Amsterdam with Brilliant Minds, based on the life of author/neurologist Oliver Sacks (The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat). Starring Zachary Quinto as Dr. Oliver Wolf, the one-hour drama joins NBC’s primetime lineup on September 23, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT.
“In many ways, our show is a love letter to Dr. Sacks, a man who dedicated his life to destigmatizing mental illness, telling stories about people living with neurological conditions in a way that was accessible to the world,” stated series creator, writer and executive producer Michael Grassi. “Our core theme embodies the message that defined Sacks’ life: No matter how ‘other’ you may feel, you are not alone.”
Season one also stars Tamberla Perry as Dr. Carol Pierce, Ashleigh LaThrop as Ericka Kinney, Alex MacNicoll as Dr. Van Markus, Aury Krebs as Dr. Dana Dang, Spence Moore II as Jacob Nash, Teddy Sears as Dr. Josh Nicols, and Donna Murphy as Muriel Landon. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, and DeMane Davis executive produce. Additional executive producers include Melissa Aouate, Henrik Bastin, Andy Serkis, Jonathan Cavendish, and Will Tennant.
Guest stars include Mandy Patinkin as a doctor who joins the hospital staff; Steve Howey as a motorcycle mechanic; and André De Shields as a patient with Alzheimer’s.

Episode one follows Dr. Oliver Wolf as he reluctantly accepts a job at Bronx General Hospital where he’s forced to work with a team of interns as they treat a mother who can no longer recognize her children.

82 feature films will screen during the 2024 Beyond Fest, taking place September 25 through October 9 in Los Angeles. Among the offerings will be the West Coast premieres of Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist, Sean Baker’s Anora, Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice, Marielle Heller’s Nightbitch, and Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3.
The 12th edition of the festival kicks off with the world premiere of Salem’s Lot, directed by Gary Dauberman and based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel. Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Cloud is this year’s closing night film. Plus, the genre festival hosts a reunion of Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock, and director Jan de Bont in honor of the 30th anniversary of Speed.

CBS’s new unscripted competition series The Summit announced the 16 brave individuals who’ll taking on intense physical challenges. Competitors include a neuroscientist, a trauma nurse, a barber, and a stay-at-home mom.
Manu Bennett (Spartacus, Arrow) hosts the new reality series set to premiere on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT. Season one moves to its regular Wednesdays at 9:30pm ET/PT time slot on October 9th.
CBS offers this description of the new primetime series:
“These 16 strangers – from a Trader Joe’s employee and mother of two, to a 29-year-old trauma nurse, to a 33-year-old Air Force service member – are truly stepping into the unknown, as they did not know what they were signing up for and many of them have no previous climbing or camping experience. The result is a test of their character, both physical and mental, in ways they never imagined possible, as they attempt to reach the peak of a distant, towering mountain.
With their backpacks containing an equal share of $1 million, the group must traverse an exhausting distance in just 14 days in order to win the cash they are carrying. But not everyone will make it, as these strangers must work together to tackle the dangerous terrain, unforgiving Antarctic winds, heart-pounding challenges and gut-wrenching eliminations on their way to the peak. Tracking them along this journey is the ‘Mountain’s Keeper’ who will surprise the trekkers with brutal twists and force decisions that complicate an already grueling ascent. Morals and relationships will be tested when they must decide what to do if someone falls behind, because if the group fails to reach THE SUMMIT in time, all the prize money will be lost.
The contestants competing on the first season of The Summit vary in age, background, personality, and experience, contributing to the differing perspectives and strategies they each bring to their individual game, and adding to the intensity of the all-or-nothing gameplay where the group succeeds or fails as one.”

Yesterday, horrormeister Stephen King tweeted: “SALEM’S LOT trailer is coming. It’s a good one.” And now that the trailer has arrived, it’s confirmed King was telling the truth. There’s a lot packed into the two-minute trailer, and it effectively captures the creepy, suspenseful, and terrifying vibe.
The film stars Lewis Pullman as Ben Mears, Alfre Woodard as Dr. Cody, Makenzie Leigh as Susan Norton, and Bill Camp as Matthew Burke. Spencer Treat Clark plays Mike Ryerson, Pilou Asbæk is Straker, and John Benjamin Hickey is Father Callahan.
“Author Ben Mears returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire,” reads Max’s synopsis. Gary Dauberman (Annabelle Comes Home) adapted Stephen King’s bestselling 1975 novel and directs. Dauberman’s also an executive producer along with Mark Wolper, Vertigo’s Roy Lee, and Atomic Monster’s James Wan and Michael Clear.
Stephen King’s popular vampire novel was adapted into a miniseries in 1979 starring David Soul, James Mason, Fred Willard, and Bonnie Bedelia. And in 2004, Rob Lowe, Andre Braugher, Samantha Mathis, and Donald Sutherland starred in a two-episode miniseries. This theatrical adaptation was filmed back in 2021 and originally targeted an October 2022 theatrical release. Those plans were scrapped, and instead, Salem’s Lot will premiere on Max on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

The Dexter: Original Sin teaser features the familiar voice of Michael C. Hall explaining that it takes a village to raise a killer. The teaser shows brief snippets of the younger versions of Dexter characters and ends with the reveal of the series’ premiere date.
Paramount+’s prequel to the Dexter franchise will debut on Friday, December 13, 2024 on Paramount+ with Showtime and December 15th on Showtime linear.
Patrick Gibson leads the cast as a young Dexter. Molly Brown plays his sister, Debra, and Christian Slater stars as their father, Harry. The 10-episode season also features Patrick Dempsey as Aaron Spencer, James Martinez as Angel Batista, Christina Milian as Maria LaGuerta, Alex Shimizu as Vince Masuka, and Reno Wilson as Bobby Watt. Emmy winner Sarah Michelle Gellar guest stars as Tanya Martin.

“Set in 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter (Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry (Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar,” reads Paramount+’s synopsis. “This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.”
Executive producers include showrunner Clyde Phillips (Dexter), Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under), Mary Leah Sutton (Resident Evil), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris) and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll). The prequel’s produced by SHOWTIME Studios, Counterpart Studios, and Robert Lloyd Lewis (The Lincoln Lawyer). Michael Lehmann (Heathers) is a directing executive producer.
Prepare for many more big-name guest stars on CBS’s Elsbeth season two. Series star Carrie Preston teased, “Just wait until you see this season’s murderers…and they are all slaying it,” on Twitter. And season two is starting off by setting the bar high, bringing in Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Awards winner Nathan Lane to play an obsessed opera lover.
Season two premieres with “Subscription to Murder” directed by Nancy Hower from a script by Jonathan Tolins. Episode one will air on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT.
Carrie Preston stars as Elsbeth Tascioni, Wendell Pierce stars as Captain C.W. Wagner, and Carra Patterson is back as Officer Kaya Blanke. Robert King, Michelle King, Liz Glotzer, and Jonathan Tolins serve as executive producers.
“Subscription to Murder” Plot: When a womanizing finance executive is found stabbed to death after a night at the opera, Elsbeth suspects an obsessed opera lover (Lane) was driven to murder because of a ringing cell phone. Meanwhile, Elsbeth, Captain Wagner and Kaya must adjust to changes in the precinct as the consequences of Noonan’s wrongdoing continue to loom.
Emmy Award winner Carrie Preston is back as Elsbeth Tascioni, the astute but unconventional consent decree attorney working with the NYPD to catch New York’s most well-heeled murderers utilizing her unique point of view. Season two of the critically acclaimed series brings new cases and challenges when mistakes of the past come back to haunt Elsbeth, her boss Captain Wagner (Pierce), and detective in training Officer Kaya Blanke (Patterson).
