Timberlake and Biel have been dating for five years and became engaged in December 2011.
NBC had planned an October 19, 2012 return of Community only to change their minds and push the date back to…well, they haven’t decided yet. Or, if they’ve decided, they’re not letting anyone know.
So, the cast got together for this video in celebration of October 19th, which isn’t actually a date on the calendar but rather a state of mind. October 19th is kittens, strangers saying hi, and the 4th of July.

Season four of Community coming to your TV on October 19th, whenever that may actually be.
Perry Simon, General Manager, Channels, BBC Worldwide America, made the announcement, stating: “BBC AMERICA’s first original scripted series, Copper, has proven to be a perfect fit for the channel. Our viewers have made it our highest-rated series premiere ever and highest-rated drama series ever. Production led by Tom Fontana, Will Rokos, Barry Levinson and Christina Wayne, along with the cast from both sides of the pond, truly captured the boiling pot that was New York City in 1864. We can’t wait to get started on the second season.”
Giving the series a second season wasn’t a difficult decision as it’s BBC America’s highest-rated drama ever. Over a million viewers have been tuning in each week since the series debuted in August.
The Plot:
Copper follows Detective Kevin Corcoran (Tom Weston-Jones), a rugged Irish immigrant cop, as he seeks justice for the powerless in 1864 New York City. The series has been building to this Sunday’s explosive finale that will change lives and the city forever. With Confederate terrorists threatening to destroy the city as they know it, unexpected traitors will be revealed and once air-tight bonds will be broken beyond repair.
James Patterson is a popular author. Tyler Perry is a guaranteed box office draw. Matthew Fox is a likable actor who usually plays good guys. Rob Cohen has made a living directing mediocre action films. Put them all together and what do you get? Alex Cross. Is that a good thing? Well … no. In fact, it’s a terrible thing.
The failure starts with the screenplay. There’s less character development over the entire course of the movie than you get in standard television pilot episodes. The basic plot is what one might expect; it’s your standard ‘best-at-what-he-does’ detective versus an unpredictable assassin tale, with innocent lives lost along the way fueling the protagonist’s hate fire. Within the course of a book, the broad strokes painted by the movie probably make some kind of emotional connection. Here, it’s like screenwriters Marc Moss and Kerry Williamson took their cues from a cliff notes version of the book and filled in any gaps with cable TV tropes.
The problems in the script translate to a cast being stuck in a no-win scenario. After giving it some thought, Perry wasn’t necessarily a bad choice. The film attempts to create an emotional backstory and the character of Alex Cross is more of a psychological badass than a physical one so not going with a more imposing actor isn’t a big problem. Still, after seeing the final product, one has to assume the only reason this clunker is being released in theaters is the expected profit based on Perry’s loyal fan base, not because anyone should feel proud about the film.
Matthew Fox actually has a few good moments as the sociopathic assassin, but he too is at the mercy of a script that would have Shakespeare’s third cousin spinning in their grave. Edward Burns, John C. McGinley, Cicely Tyson, Jean Reno, and Rachel Nichols are also billed in the movie but the lack of development so evident in the main characters only translates to even worse treatment for the supporting cast.
Putting the final nail in the coffin is director Rob Cohen. It’s no surprise he’s not concerned with character development; no one’s ever accused him of trying. But he’s done so many average action movies that one would think he’d understand how to film fight scenes. Apparently, he forgot. It’d be entirely plausible to mistake the shaky cam that nearly had me shouting out loud in frustration for an earthquake until you realize the only things swaying and churning are the images on the screen. This almost made me long for the horrific camera work of The Hunger Games … almost.
There just simply isn’t any point to watching Alex Cross. It’s not a hard formula to follow, and the filmmakers managed to get lost right from the beginning and were anything but close to the mark by the end. If you like Patterson’s books, stick to that medium, and don’t be disappointed with what I have to assume is a ridiculous gutting of the source material. I haven’t read it, so maybe it’s faithful to the events, but I’d like to think any author would take the time within the course of a novel to develop backstories and relationships so the reader can connect. Without that in the film, all one can hope for is decent action but that’s sorely lacking as well, and this winds up being one of the worst movies I’ve seen in 2012.
GRADE: D
Alex Cross hits theaters on October 19, 2012 and is rated PG-13 for violence, including disturbing images, sexual content, language, drug references, and nudity.

Mitt Romney and the Dockers of Destiny… Very clever, Jimmy Kimmel and Matthew Fox.
Fox was on Jimmy Kimmel Live in support of his role as the bad guy in Alex Cross and the topic turned to Fox’s upcoming projects. Fox, saying how much he likes to be involved in projects based on real people, debuted a clip from his upcoming “TV movie” in which he plays Presidential Candidate Romney.
Oscar winner Tom Hanks has been busy doing interviews to promote his upcoming film, Cloud Atlas, in which he plays six different characters. And during his visit to Good Morning America, the normally well-spoken Hanks accidentally dropped the F-bomb on live TV. Speaking in one of the accents he uses for the film, Hanks let slip the cuss word – much to his own embarrassment.
Hanks followed his on-air apology with a tweet:
For GMA, spesh kowtow for Lizzie V for WHAT DID I JUST SAY??? Oops!In character!Sorry!Hanx
From ABC/GMA: “This morning Tom Hanks accidently used an expletive during a live interview on GMA with Elizabeth Vargas. They both immediately apologized on air, and the show was corrected for all subsequent feeds.”
The half hour show will start production on its eight episode first season in November.
Announcing the series, Andy Singer, GM, Travel Channel, stated: “For the past 25 years, Bret Michaels has spent at least nine months out of the year in a tour bus that he personally designs from top to bottom. We couldn’t think of a better front man than Bret for the series. He lives and breathes life on the road and undoubtedly holds the record for most hours logged in a custom coach. Bret jumped at the chance to share his passion for travel and the RV experience through this fascinating, obsessive world of customizing RVs. We wanted him, and he wanted to do this – it is a great partnership.”
“Between touring and travelling, I spend a lot of time on the road and my tricked-out, custom coach is my home away from home,” added Michaels. “I crisscross the country and live in my tour bus, and I know how to take an RV from ordinary to extraordinary. I can’t wait to put my expertise to use and show people how to make their RVs rock.”
Michaels’ own RV has a custom gym as well as state-of-the-art Hi-Fi and Wi-Fi.
