Netflix has shared the first photo from the romantic comedy Mother of the Bride, directed by Mark Waters (the original Mean Girls). The first photo features Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly)- the Bride – and Brooke Shields (Suddenly Susan) – the Mother.
The first photo arrived along with the announcement of a May 9, 2024 release date on Netflix.
The cast also includes Benjamin Bratt (Poker Face), Rachael Harris (Lucifer), Sean Teale (Skins), Chad Michael Murray (Sullivan’s Crossing), Michael McDonald (MADtv), Wilson Cruz (My So-Called Life), Tasneem Roc (The Bureau of Magical Things), and Dalip Sondhi (Frayed).
“Lana’s daughter Emma returns from abroad and drops a bombshell: she’s getting married. In Thailand. In a month!” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “Things only get worse when Lana learns that the man who captured Emma’s heart is the son of the man who broke hers years ago.”
Robin Bernheim Burger wrote the screenplay and Brad Krevoy produced. Brooke Shields, Oliver Ackermann, Galen Fletcher, Robin Bernheim Burger, Amanda Phillips, Jimmy Townsend, and Vince Balzano served as executive producers.
Paramount+ wants more of the Australian comedy Colin From Accounts and has picked it up for season two. Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer are onboard to write, star in, and executive produce the second season of the critically acclaimed comedy about a craft beer brewery owner, a student nurse, and the border terrier who brought them together.
“We’re SUPER EXCITED that Paramount+ has the good taste and exquisite judgment to renew us for another season,” said Brammall and Dyer.
Season one premiered in the US in November 2023. Production is currently underway in Australia on season two.
“Colin From Accounts quickly won over audiences with its quirky, relatable storylines, and lovable characters,” stated Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President, Programming, Paramount+. “Patrick and Harriet are crafting another phenomenal season, and we can’t wait to share what is next for Ashley, Gordon and Colin.”

Dyer stars as Ashley and Brammall plays Gordon. The cast also includes Emma Harvie as Megan, Helen Thomson as Lynelle, Genevieve Hegney as Chiara, Michael Logo as Brett, and Tai Hara as James. Dyer, Brammall, Alison Hurbert-Burns, Lana Greenhalgh, Trent O’Donnell, Rob Gibson, and Ian Collie executive produce season two.
“Colin From Accounts is centered on Ashley and Gordon, two single(ish), complex humans who are brought together by a nipple flash, a car accident and an injured dog,” reads the Paramount+ synopsis. “The series is about flawed, funny people choosing each other and being brave enough to show their true selves, scars and all, as they navigate life together.”
Season one earned three Australian Logie Awards in the Outstanding Comedy Program, Outstanding Actor, and Outstanding Actress categories. Additional awards include Australia’s Screen Producers Awards for Comedy Program or Series Production of the Year, the Best Comedy, and Equity Ensemble Awards Ensemble Award for Best Comedy.
The first season was also nominated for 10 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards.
The trailer for Paramount+’s The Family Stallone shows Sly taking his wife and daughters to Italy, Sly shadowboxing the Pope, and Scarlet introducing her boyfriend to the family. There’s a lot going on in the 10-episode second season set to premiere on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
The docuseries’ second season stars Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone, his wife Jennifer Flavin Stallone, and daughters Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet.
“This season, after four decades as one of Los Angeles’ most famous families, the Stallones are leaving Hollywood for good and moving east. With daughters Sophia and Sistine following their dreams in New York City and Scarlet navigating college and a new love in Miami, Sly and Jen set up roots in Palm Beach as empty nesters,” reads Paramount+’s synopsis. “But distance can’t keep this family apart as the season culminates in a life-changing trip to Italy to explore their family history, rekindle love and make a lifetime of memories.”
Benjamin Hurvitz, Nadim Amiry, Julie Pizzi, Farnaz Farjam, and Jonathan Singer executive produce. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and Bunim-Murray Productions.

Sistine Stallone: An actress and model, Sistine is embarking on a new journey as a filmmaker and is currently in development on her first feature film.
Scarlet Stallone: The youngest of the Stallone sisters, and the last to leave the nest, Scarlet has been set on following in her father’s footsteps and becoming an actress since she was a child. She’s now appearing alongside Sly in his series Tulsa King.
Emmy Award nominee Idris Elba (Luther) will return to star in and executive produce a second season of Apple TV+’s Hijack. The first season premiered in June 2023 and followed Elba as Sam Nelson, a passenger on board a plane that’s hijacked. Sam’s negotiating skills were pivotal in bringing about a positive resolution.
The renewal announcement didn’t include any details on what Sam will encounter in season two.
“I was floored by the overwhelming audience response after season one. It’s top secret what new situation unfolds for Sam Nelson, but I can assure you we will bring the high octane back!” stated Idris Elba.
Created by George Kay (Lupin) and Jim Field (Criminal), the seven-episode first season is one of Apple TV+’s top dramas. It currently sits at 88% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising Elba’s performance in the real-time thriller.
“Global audiences were on tenterhooks watching Idris’s riveting performance in Hijack, and we’re thrilled to be working again with 60Forty and Idiotlamp on an equally compelling season two,” said Jay Hunt, creative director, Europe, Apple TV+.
Season two will be executive produced by Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash at 60Forty Films, along with Kay and Field Smith’s Idiotlamp Productions. Field Smith is also the lead director.

Fire!!! Apparently, dinosaurs, missing friends, a mysterious military base, and assorted personality clashes just aren’t enough. NBC’s La Brea ups the ante with season three episode four, adding a raging fire mere miles from the fort as yet another problem our trusty time travelers will have to deal with.
Episode four, the appropriately named “Fire Storm,” kicks off in LA in 2021. Ty (Chike Okonkwo) and Sam (Jon Seda) are growing antsy waiting outside a diner for Gavin’s contact to show up. Inside, Gavin (Eoin Macken) is approached by a woman he doesn’t recognize but who seems to know him.
It turns out the woman has canceled Gavin’s real meeting and needs him to go with her if he wants to continue breathing. She almost runs over Ty and Sam, driving out of the parking lot like a bat out of hell.
And now we’re dropped back into 10,000 BC, and Gavin hasn’t totally recovered from being drugged by Maya. As Sam examines him, the laptop springs to life, asking if he’s found Sierra. Gavin replies that he’s found Maya Schmidt. A photo of Eve pops up, confirming this mysterious messenger has Gavin’s wife.
Whoever is typing orders Gavin to find the microchip. Eve’s life depends on it.
Maya explains that the microchip Gavin stole is the key to time travel. The chip contains the code that will allow the government to program a fleet of planes to travel through time. But now it’s gone, and Gavin is the only one who knows its location.
Sam comes up with an insane idea which you just know is the solution. The only real question is why it wasn’t Gavin’s idea. After all, he’s the one who always comes up with crazy plans. Anyway, it’s to use the tar pits to send a message to 2021 Scott. (Because he has friends who work in the La Brea tar pits, of course.)
Izzy arrives with news that a massive fire is approaching the fort. (I guess no one can see the smoke or smell it from inside the fort.) The fort evacuates and heads to the highest peak, while Izzy, Gavin, Maya, and Scott (Rohan Mirchandaney) head to the tar pits with the message.
They’re in the middle of an emergency, but Lucas (Josh McKenzie) takes the time to apologize to Veronica (Lily Santiago) for not supporting her promotion to the council.
Maya (Claudia Ware) reveals she was told to recruit Scott to the project back in 2021.
As the group heads to the peak, Lucas spots a wolf puppy. Sam doesn’t want him to, but Lucas brings the adorable pup along anyway. Veronica approves.
Stick with me here as this episode jumps around between the two time periods a lot. In 2021, Gavin’s phone – which was left behind when he went with the unknown blonde woman – rings, and it’s Scott. Ty recognizes his name immediately when it pops up on the screen.
Ty and Sam visit Scott, and Scott has a difficult time wrapping his head around Ty’s 10,000 BC story. Scott called Gavin’s phone because he received the tar pit message, and obviously, neither Ty nor Sam is Gavin. So, Scott isn’t on board with their story quite yet.
Scott, quite rightly, points out that in movies, the bad guys always claim to be friends with the person who’s trying to be contacted. Plus, Ty does have a British accent. Point, proven.
Ty decides the best way to Scott’s heart is through his stomach.

The group’s taken a rest in 10,000 BC as the smoke makes it difficult to breathe. Sam wanders off, and Lucas finds him noticeably upset. Something’s up, and Sam finally confesses that when Riley was 10, a fire destroyed their house. He got his wife and kids out, but this fire’s bringing up painful memories.
Ruth’s scouts say the fire is now headed right at the fort. However, there’s a dam near the fort and if they break it, it will wet the area near the fort and save it from the flames. Veronica, who is pregnant, volunteers, as do Sam, Lucas, and the wolf puppy.
Gavin experiences another flash of memories involving the chip, and in the vision, he sees an arm with a scar made of three parallel-ish lines. And a paper titled “Universal Flora” written by Scott.
In 2021, Gavin’s handcuffed inside a car and his kidnapper introduces herself as Helena. She tells him he willingly signed up to do horrible things to stop something worse from happening. She also talks about fighter jets becoming time machines. Helena was a civilian consultant, and she’s the one who got Gavin on the list as a test pilot. Okay, the story’s finally getting a bit interesting…
Helena and Gavin were trying to dismantle the program from the inside – just the two of them. “We’re the good guys, Gavin,” says Helena, adding that she has proof that will convince him.
Helena uses her thumbprint and asks Gavin for his, too, to open a safe deposit box he knows nothing about. Inside is the microchip he stole.
Once more to 10,000 BC we go, and Scott confirms he wrote “Universal Flora.” That’s enough to confirm Gavin’s memory is real. But Gavin doesn’t know who had the three scars on their arm, and that doesn’t ring a bell with Scott.
Gavin’s choking on the smoke now, so Scott hustles off to fetch Maya down by the river.
Sam’s group arrives at the dam, but the pulley to open the gate is damaged. (Of course, it is.) Veronica suggests they need to use gunpowder to make an explosive to loosen the support beams. It’s a great idea, but Sam and Lucas leave it to Veronica and Ruth’s people because the wolf puppy has chosen just this instant to run off toward the fire.
In LA, Ty’s prepared a lunch that 10,000 BC Scott told him his mom used to make when he needed comforting. Ty also points out Scott has a vase of flowers that, when they saw them in 10,000 BC, caused Scott to become depressed.
Ty knows it’s about a girl, and Scott confirms he lost the best thing in his life and has given up on everyone. Sam delivers one of his patented pep talks and Scott can’t help but give in. He shows them the message he got from the tar pits. It instructs him to call Gavin Harris (with a phone number) and tell him he hid a microchip. Finding it is the only way to save his wife. The note also says Gavin must find a way to get that chip to 10,000 BC.
The note’s signed by Gavin.
Speaking of Gavin, he and Helena arrive by a lake, and she reveals that she’s his half-sister. All of this is linked to their family’s legacy. Their father didn’t care about either of them; he only cared about time travel.
Helena walks Gavin to an aurora and explains the red half goes to 1965, the year the program originated. The blue side goes to 10,000 BC. Ty and Sam race up just as Gavin’s about to go through the aurora. Ty asks about the chip, Gavin confirms he has it, and Ty says the microchip must go to 10,000 BC because Eve’s life depends on it.
Helena’s sorry about that, but they have to go to ’65 to stop the project.
The aurora becomes erratic, and Helena pulls a gun on Ty and Sam. Ty insists he’s family, too, and begs for the chip. He’ll take it back to 10,000 BC since he’s the only one of this foursome who’s been there.
Suddenly, Sam attacks Helena and gets the gun. Gavin gives the chip to Ty, and Ty steps through the aurora.
Back in the past, Sam and Lucas search for the wolf puppy and find him in a small shelter surrounded by flames. Sam has one more confession to make. He forgot to save Riley’s dog and he died in the fire.
Unfortunately, there’s no time to run, and instead, they must hunker down and wait for the fire to move on or go out.
Veronica hits the makeshift explosive on her third shot, and it works as planned. The dam breaks and the water floods the area around the fort, putting out the flames. (Don’t get me started about the CG work.)

And now we’re back in 10,000 BC for the final minutes of episode four. Scott realizes Maya is the person with the scar and that she’s been lying. She knows why the program was interested in him because she had his paper.
Maya reacts by doing something we don’t see to Scott. She then catches up with Gavin and Izzy and claims the soldiers took Scott.
Veronica finds Lucas and Sam hiding out from the fire with the wolf puppy. They’re covered with a shirt, and initially, she thinks they’re dead. They aren’t. Veronica’s happy to report the fort was saved.
That night, the celebration of survival is underway when Ty walks up to Sam. They hug and Ty reveals the aurora sent him to 2021. Gavin joins them and can’t believe Ty was able to get the microchip. Ty says all three of them actually did it. Plus, he learned the other side of the aurora goes to 1965. That’s where Josh and Riley are right now.
Maya lurks in the background as Ty, Sam, and Gavin celebrate.
Five-time Emmy winner Jane Lynch returns to host the new season of NBC’s Weakest Link. The game show will kick off season four on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT.
Season four premieres with a Days of our Lives special, with the cast going head-to-head to raise money for charity. Lindsay Arnold, Bryan Dattilo, Galen Gering, Tina Huang, Victoria Konefal, Martha Madison, Eric Martsolf, and Zach Tinker will put their skills to the test while representing the popular long-running daytime soap.
Stuart Krasnow serves as executive producer and guides the series as showrunner. Host Jane Lynch, Aaron Solomon, and BBC Studios’ Ryan O’Dowd also executive produce. Weakest Link is produced by BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions in association with Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group.

“In each episode, eight contestants enter the studio as total strangers but must work together to bank the maximum amount of prize money available in each round. The contestants take turns answering general knowledge questions to build chains of correct answers. Consecutive correct answers greatly increase the value of the chain while incorrect answers break the chain and force the contestants to start over from the bottom of the money ladder,” reads NBC’s synopsis. “The top prize increases with each round but contestants must first vote to eliminate the fellow competitor they consider to be the ‘Weakest Link’ in the chain. The contestant who receives the highest number of votes leaves the game as the host declares the iconic phrase, ‘You are the Weakest Link. Goodbye.'”

Production is currently underway in Toronto on Paramount+ ‘s Star Trek: Section 31. Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once) stars in the original movie, reprising her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou from Star Trek: Discovery.
Omari Hardwick (Power), Kacey Rohl (Hannibal), Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso), Sven Ruygrok (One Piece), Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia), and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry) have joined the cast as filming begins in Toronto.
“And we’re off to the races! Thrilled to report principal photography has started on Star Trek: Section 31,” said executive producer Alex Kurtzman. “We welcome our incredible cast of new characters as they join our beloved Michelle Yeoh on her next wild adventure across the Trek universe.”
Section 31 will find Emperor Philippa Georgiou joining a secret division of Starfleet. Per Paramount+: “Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she also must face the sins of her past.”
“For years, we’ve been looking forward to Michelle Yeoh one day returning to Star Trek,” said David Stapf, president of CBS Studios, when the project was announced in April 2023. “Her powerful performance as Captain and Emperor Georgiou was a pivotal moment for the return of the franchise, and her portrayal resonated with fans around the world in a multitude of ways. Olatunde Osunsanmi directs from a screenplay by Craig Sweeny. Sweeny, Osunsanmi, Kurtzman, Aaron Baiers, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, and Michelle Yeoh are executive producing.
Star Trek: Section 31 is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.
A&E Networks has acquired a 50% stake in Rachael Ray’s new production company, Free Food Studios. The new partnership will result in Free Food Studios developing and producing 278 episodes of new programming.
“Today, I just finished writing over 80 pages of recipes and production notes for my groundbreaking new partnership with A+E Networks. I am so excited for this new chapter of my life to open,” stated Rachael Ray. “Viewers can expect to see me cooking in both of my homes, in upstate New York and Tuscany, Italy and creating new shows that will feature an amazing group of diverse and unique culinary talents. We have been working on this partnership for some time and this is just the beginning, so stay tuned.”
The first series announced include the 30-episode half-hour Rachael Ray’s Meals in Minutes and Rachael Ray’s Tuscany.

According to A&E Networks’ announcement, Free Food Studios will focus on developing and creating long and short-form content across various platforms. The full-service production company was formed by Ray, Brian Flanagan, Anthony Amoia, and Sean Lee of Intentional Content.
“When Sean, Anthony, and I started Free Food with Rachael, library ownership and scale were crucial to our collective mission statement,” said Flanagan. “During that same period of time, A+E Networks were great partners in helping us launch Rachael in the home space with Italian Dream Home and Rachael Ray’s Rebuild, so when it came time to scale and distribute our expanding food content library, partnering with A+E made complete sense.”
Henry Cavill reunites with his The Man From U.N.C.L.E. director Guy Ritchie for Lionsgate’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, an action comedy inspired by real events. The two-minute trailer finds Henry Cavill’s character being asked to lead the first special forces mission in history to neutralize German U-boats.
In addition to Cavil (The Witcher), the ensemble includes Eiza González (Baby Driver), Alan Ritchson (Reacher), Alex Pettyfer (In Time), Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After), Babs Olusamokun (Dune), Henrique Zaga (Beyond the Universe), Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds), Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride).

Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.”
Guy Ritchie directs and co-wrote the screenplay with Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, and Arash Amel. Based on the book The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops by Damien Lewis, the action-comedy/drama is produced by Ritchie, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Ivan Atkinson, and John Friedberg.
Lionsgate’s trailer premiere was accompanied by new photos from the film. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare opens in theaters on April 19, 2024.

Nico Parker (The Last of Us) delivers an impressive performance as a teenager struggling with more than her fair share of family trauma in writer/director Laura Chinn’s Suncoast. The R-rated drama is a deeply personal coming-of-age story based on Chinn’s own experiences growing up with a single mother and an older brother who passed away from cancer.
There’s a pivotal scene early on in Suncoast with Doris (Parker) ticking off a list of family members who are either dead or dying. She’s not angry or frustrated, just matter-of-fact about her family history. Wise beyond her 17 years, Doris has accepted that these circumstances are beyond her control.
That’s Doris. She doesn’t rage; she accepts her situation. She’ll be her brother’s caretaker and second fiddle in her mom’s eyes until he passes away.
However, that dynamic shifts when Doris’ mother, Kristine (three-time Oscar nominee Laura Linney), makes the decision to move her dying son into hospice. Doris drops from second fiddle to barely an afterthought as Kristine dedicates herself to spending every possible moment with Max, leaving her introverted (and friendless) daughter to basically fend for herself.
Unfortunately, the timing of the move sucks. The film’s set in 2005, the same year that Terri Schiavo’s husband won his “Right to Die” legal case and was allowed to have his wife’s feeding tube removed. (She was in a persistent vegetative state for 15 years.) Kristine’s decision to move Max coincides with the controversial ruling in Schiavo’s case. As a result, Terri and Max will both spend their final days in the Suncoast care facility. Instead of the peace and quiet Kristine was hoping for, the facility is surrounded by very vocal protestors.
Kristine was barely holding on before the move, and once Max is set up in a private room she becomes laser-focused on making sure she’s by his side when he passes.
Freed of her restraints, Doris emerges from social exile at the back of the class and volunteers her house for partying. One taste of normal high school life, and she wants much, much more. Her new rebellious teen attitude sets her on a collision course with her strict – and almost comically intense – mom.
Three-time Oscar nominee Woody Harrelson plays the role of a protestor who develops a weird, although platonic, almost fatherly relationship with Doris. The film touches on the ethical questions surrounding euthanasia, with Harrelson’s character representing the anti-euthanasia argument. However, writer/director Chinn chooses to keep this issue as a minor aspect of the movie, instead focusing on the prickly relationship between Doris and her mother.
Suncoast, which premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, is a compelling, emotionally charged coming-of-age drama. Nico Parker is terrific in the lead role, portraying a character who deals with difficult challenges from the filmmaker’s personal history. Despite the deeply personal nature of the story, its themes of grief and acceptance are relatable to anyone, thanks in large part to Parker’s performance.
The ending is foreshadowed from the opening scene of Doris pushing her brother in a wheelchair back home from the pharmacy. Death is inevitable. It’s the journey Doris goes through and the life lessons she learns along the way that make Suncoast something special.
