Apple TV+ has officially renewed Silo, its critically acclaimed sci-fi series, for season two. The renewal announcement arrived ahead of the premiere of episode eight of the 10-episode first season.
“It has been enormously fulfilling to see the engrossing, atmospheric and beautifully crafted sci-fi epic Silo quickly become Apple’s number one drama series,” stated Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+. “As audiences around the world have become gripped by the mysteries and conspiracies buried within this fascinating subterranean world, viewership only continues to climb, and we are so excited for more secrets of the silo to be revealed in season two.”
Based on Hugh Howey’s bestselling trilogy, Silo season one stars Rebecca Ferguson (Dune), Common (The Chi), Emmy nominee Harriet Walter (Succession), Chinaza Uche (Dickinson), Avi Nash (The Walking Dead), Critics Choice Award and NAACP winner David Oyelowo (Selma), Emmy nominee Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation), and Academy Award winner Tim Robbins (Mystic River).
Two-time Emmy Award winner Graham Yost (The Pacific, From Earth to the Moon) created the series and guides the epic sci-fi tale as showrunner. Yost, Ferguson, author Hugh Howey, Nina Jack, Fred Golan, Rémi Aubuchon, Ingrid Escajeda, and Morten Tyldum serve as executive producers.
“We cannot wait for audiences around the world to immerse themselves in the epic world we have created to bring Hugh Howey’s novels to life,” said Yost. “Apple has believed in our vision from day one and it’s an honor to have the opportunity to dig deeper into this story and peel back the layers to our characters in the silo.”

Silo is the story of the last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences. Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.
Peacock’s unveiled the first photos from the John Wick prequel The Continental: From the World of John Wick which premieres in September 2023. The three-part event series focuses on the history of The Continental and its involvement in the secret world of assassins, as well as delving into the backstories of Winston Scott and Charon.
Per Peacock: “The three-part event will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.”
Colin Woodell plays the younger version of Ian McShane’s Winston Scott, and Ayomide Adegun stars as the young Charon, played by Lance Reddick, who sadly passed away right before John Wick: Chapter 4 hit theaters.
The cast also includes Mel Gibson as Cormac, Mishel Prada as KD, Ben Robson as Frankie, Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles, Nhung Kate as Yen, Jessica Allain as Lou, Jeremy Bobb as Mayhew, and Peter Greene as Young Uncle Charlie. (David Patrick Kelly played Charlie in the first John Wick.)

Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward, and Shawn Simmons developed the series and serve as writers and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, Marshall Persinger, and Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee. Executive producer Albert Hughes (The Good Lord Bird) directed parts one and three, with Charlotte Brändström (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power) directing episode two.
Director/executive producer Albert Hughes’ goal with the three-part event series was to honor the spirit of escapism and excitement from the John Wick films, all while showing fans what he describes as a new “hyper-stylized world.”
“Together executive producer/writer Kirk Ward and I had several goals – to explore the backstories of familiar Wick characters, introduce new and exciting ones, dig deeper into the rules and mythology while expanding the physical scope of The Continental, showing fans areas of the iconic hotel they’ve never seen before. Kirk and I had the time of our lives creating this impressionistic spin on New York in the 70s. Even the soundtrack became a character in itself and reflects all that is American culture – a tapestry of distinct identities and experiences pieced together to create something truly unique,” explained Hughes.
Hughes continued: “Early on in our process, we wrote the words ‘Disco Noir on the wall. It was emblematic of the experience we wanted to create. Music filled our workroom and became the heartbeat of this show as we took turns sharing our favorite tracks from our youth. Each song is more distinct from the next as we come from different worlds, creating a soundtrack featuring the most eclectic mix of needle drops with genres ranging from classic rock, pop, punk, funk, R&B, soul, reggae and disco.”

Basil Iwanyk, producer of all four John Wick films, recalled that they didn’t have high expectations for the first film of the franchise. “Hopes were muted: directed by two ex-stuntmen, and its premise was potentially the goofiest in film history. Keanu avenging a puppy’s death!? We were doomed.
Yet this is why we play the game. It hit a chord that none of us anticipated. Yes, people love Keanu. And the action was awesome. What we didn’t see coming was how much the audience loved the world, its rules, the swagger, the craziness, and the rogue’s gallery of villains and (kinda) good guys. All those roads led to one place, the epicenter and beating heart of the franchise: the hotel called The Continental, led by two of the franchise’s greatest characters, Winston and Charon.
The four Wick films take place over a 3 month span. John is either chasing, or being chased. There has been no time to take a breath, to allow the audience to dig deeper into the world and its denizens. In our show, The Continental, we finally have space to explore these characters, how they became who they are, and how The Continental became the epicenter of this world,” said Iwanyk.
Iwanyk added: “Combine that with introducing new characters that are as compelling as any in the John Wick universe. Action that’s crazy cool and inventive. Easter eggs that will excite the hardcore Wick fans. And what I love the most: a vision of ’70s New York that embodies the sexiness, edginess, and visceral style that the franchise is known for. This show will look/sound/smell cooler than any show out there.
In making the films, we always reminded ourselves, ‘we have no rules, just make it badass.’ We brought that mantra onto The Continental, and I’m proud to say that Albert and Kirk delivered on that promise.”

Apple TV+ just launched a stunning official trailer for Foundation season two that’s two minutes of eye-popping special effects, kicking off with Brother Day declaring this is an age of darkness. The trailer continues with Gaal Dornick revealing she has dreams of things that will happen and wakes up terrified.
“Despair, death, destruction,” says Gaal, adding, “This is even bigger than the last crisis.”
The 10-episode season two premieres on July 14, 2023 and stars Lee Pace as Brother Day, Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick, Jared Harris as Hari Seldon, and Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin. Laura Birn returns as Demerzel, Cassian Bilton is back as Brother Dawn, and Terrence Mann reprises his role as Brother Dusk.
New to the world of Foundation are Isabella Laughland as Brother Constant, Kulvinder Ghir as Poly Verisof, Ella-Rae Smith as Queen Sareth of Cloud Dominion, and Holt McCallany as Warden Jaegger Fount. CBS has added season five of the reality competition series Tough as Nails to its 2023 summer lineup. The new season will kick off with a two-hour premiere on July 2nd at 8pm ET/PT, with new episodes airing on Sundays and Fridays throughout the summer.
Series creator Phil Keoghan returns to host the competition, which, for the very first time, will feature competitors from the United States and Canada.
Per CBS: “Tough as Nails is a competition series that celebrates everyday Americans who consider the calluses on their hands a badge of honor. For the first time, the show filmed in the Canadian ‘Steeltown’ of Hamilton, Ontario, and will feature essential workers from both the United States and Canada who are ready to test their strength, endurance, life skills, and mental toughness in challenges that take place in real-world scenarios.
One by one, these workers are eliminated from the individual competition until a winner is crowned, but nobody goes home. Contestants who ‘punch out’ of the individual competition continue to compete until the end of the season in a team competition with a chance of winning additional cash prizes.”

Starz’s Outlander season seven kicks off with an episode that finds Jamie desperate to reunite with Claire. Season seven episode one, “A Life Well Lost,” was directed by Lisa Clarke from a script by Danielle Berrow, and will air on Friday, June 16, 2023 at midnight on the Starz app and on Starz linear at 8pm ET/PT.
The cast is led by Caitriona Balfe as Claire Fraser and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser. Season seven also stars Sophie Skelton as Brianna Randall Fraser Mackenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger Wakefield MacKenzie, David Berry as Lord John Grey, and John Bell as Young Ian.

Pixar’s first teaser trailer for Elio finds the titular character mistakenly abducted by aliens looking for the leader of Earth. Elio’s just a kid, but now he’s got to step it up and represent all humans in front of the weird assortment of beings who make up the Communiverse.
Yonas Kibreab voices the titular character and America Ferrera is Elio’s mom, Olga. Jameela Jamil and Brad Garrett have just been added to the cast as Ambassador Questa and Ambassador Grigon, respectively.
The two-minute teaser arrived along with a poster and two stills from the family-friendly, alien-friendly adventure.
Directed by Adrian Molina (screenwriter / co-director of Coco), the 28th film from Pixar Animation Studios will open in theaters on March 1, 2024.

FX’s murder mystery Retreat starring Emma Corrin has a new official title. The limited series has been renamed A Murder at the End of the World and has released the first two photos.
The official photos feature Emma Corrin (Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Emmy nominee, The Crown) and Harris Dickinson (Trust, Triangle of Sadness). The cast also includes Clive Owen, Brit Marling, Alice Braga, Joan Chen, Raúl Esparza, Jermaine Fowler, and Ryan J. Haddad. Pegah Ferydoni, Javed Khan, Louis Cancelmi, Edoardo Ballerini, Britian Seibert, Christopher Gurr, Kellan Tetlow, Daniel Olson, and Neal Huff also star.
The seven-episode series was created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, with the frequent collaborators directing and executive producing. Andrea Sperling, Melanie Marnich, and Nicki Paluga also serve as executive producers.
Marling and Batmanglij co-wrote 2011’s Sound of My Voice, with Batmanglij directing and Marling starring. The duo handled the same duties on 2013’s The East. And Marling and Batmanglij also created The OA which ran for two seasons on Netflix. Marling played the lead character, Prairie Johnson / The OA.
“Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij have delivered a suspenseful story that updates the classic mystery genre with a bold new character for our times,” said Gina Balian, President, Original Programming when the series was announced in late 2021. “We are thrilled that Brit and Zal and the rest of the creative team will bring this series to life with their unique points of view and care.”
A Murder at the End of the World will premiere on Hulu in August 2023.

The dates of Freeform’s Cruel Summer season two episode three are July 19, 1999, December 19, 1999, and July 19, 2000. Which, of course, means the action takes place just one day after the events of episode two.
Summer of 1999:
Megan (Sadie Stanley) and Isabella (Lexi Underwood) are in the camper where Isabella’s staying as Isabella packs for a weekend getaway. Megan’s trying to talk Isabella out of going, making it sound like it’s just a guys trip (even though Megan’s going as well).
Later, the girls show up to the campout and Megan’s not pleased with seeing Luke (Griffin Gluck) and Isabella clinging on to each other. She’s also pissed she’s stuck unloading the car. Fortunately, Jeff (Nile Bullock) comes over to help, and it seems he might have a thing for Megan.
As the gang figures out who’s sleeping where, Luke isn’t happy when his brother, Brent (Braeden De La Garza), shows up. Brent claims their dad wanted him to tag along and make sure nothing happens.
A key moment in season two takes place when Luke shows Isabella how to shoot a gun, which, can we just say, is never a good idea. After seeing that Isabella’s a terrible shot, Megan steps in and asks Luke if he and Isabella are seeing each other. Megan has deadly aim and Isabella says, “Damn, Megan, remind me to stay on your good side.”
Jeff is recording Megan when she turns it around on him. He admits he likes having the camera around.
The gang plays two truths and a lie. Megan helps out Isabella with her lie for the game, and Isabella tells Megan that Jeff is crushing on her. (It’s so obvious!)
Megan and Isabella seem to be getting along and decide to ditch the guyfest and leave.
Megan got Brent to leave the cabin and Isabella wonders how she did it. Megan reveals that he isn’t as bad as people think, and he wasn’t like that before his and Luke’s mom died.
When Megan and Isabella return home – early and unexpectedly – a horrified Megan catches her mom and a man making out. Megan’s outraged, and when Isabella asks who the man is, Megan says he’s her dad.
Megan opens up about her dad and how he wasn’t really ever there for them. By the time her sister was born, he had pretty much disappeared. Megan and Isabella begin to open up about their lives and Isabella describes herself as more of an inconvenience to her parents.

Winter of 1999:
A very angry Megan confronts Isabella, and it turns out that the thing she wanted to tell Megan’s mom (in episode two) was that it was really Megan on that tape. Megan feels betrayed, and Isabella brings up that she’s been leaning on Luke more than her. Isabella wonders if Megan would even take the fall for her if their roles were reversed.
Megan assures Isabella she would do the same for her and decides it was okay for Isabella to tell her mom. She even apologizes to Isabella about how she acted when she found out.
Meanwhile, someone leaves a box at the sheriff’s station addressed to Sheriff Myers.
Megan’s busy at work and Isabella’s hanging out watching her when Luke comes in wanting to see her. Megan doesn’t think it’s a good idea for him to be there, and Luke lets her know he took care of the tapes.
And it turns out that the box delivered to Sheriff Myers contains sex tapes. Myers (Sean Blakemore) informs Luke and Brent’s father, Steve (Paul Adelstein), that this is a criminal matter. Steve throws it out there that he fixed the sheriff’s station’s roof for free, amongst other things he’s done out of the goodness of his heart. Steve suggests that Myers get rid of the tapes, and he’ll take care of Brent himself.
Steve confronts Brent in the car, grabbing him by the neck and yelling at him.
Luke’s dad confronts him about dropping off those tapes at the sheriff’s station. Luke admits he wanted to see his brother punished, but his dad’s more worried about him making their family issues public.
Jeff shows up at the restaurant and confronts Megan, admitting he might not have seen who was on the tape, but he knows her laugh. Megan plays clueless and claims not to know what he’s talking about.
Brent confronts Luke, and Luke lies and says he didn’t give the sheriff the tapes. Brent brags that their dad got him out of it and threatens that Luke’s “side skank” Isabella will be dealt with. Brent’s landed on Isabella as the one who turned over the tapes to the sheriff.
Megan and Isabella confront Jeff about keeping his mouth shut about who’s really on the tape. Megan blackmails him, warning him to keep quiet unless he wants everyone to know how he really gets the money for his fancy equipment.
Summer of 2000:
Sheriff Myers shows up at Megan’s house and informs her mom that the ballistics came back on the gun that wounded Luke. It turns out the weapon is registered to Steve Chambers, but there were three sets of prints on the gun – Megan, Isabella, and Luke’s.
While Megan’s at the restaurant working away on her laptop, a news story comes on about Luke, what they found in his system, and how the police suspect foul play. As she watches the report, a young woman tries to chat her up by asking her questions about her and Luke. Megan realizes she’s the same woman on the news and is a reporter. Megan leaves, but not before she pours coffee on the woman’s food.
In episode two, Isabella called her mom for help. In episode three, it’s not her parents who show up, it’s their lawyer, Rebecca. Rebecca gets down to business and brings up Isabella’s prints on the gun, and Isabella chimes in that she and Megan both used that gun last summer for target practice.
Isabella comes clean about not being on the sex tape. Rebecca thinks that Isabella and Megan conspired to kill Luke, and Isabella informs her that she and Megan haven’t spoken in months. Isabella wants to know why she can’t just claim diplomatic immunity and get on a plane. Rebecca responds, “I’m afraid that would look very bad, especially after what happened in St. Barts last winter.” (Isabella must have a very colorful history!)
Steve goes to see Debbie (KaDee Strickland) and lets her know that he knows about the fingerprints on the gun. Although he doesn’t think the girls had anything to do with it, he tells Debbie that the sheriff did say someone recently cleaned the cabin. He admits he hasn’t been there in months, so he wonders who cleaned it.
Isabella tells Debbie she should get a lawyer. Isabella doesn’t seem concerned, and Megan thinks Isabella seems to know a lot about the law.
Megan and Debbie take Isabella’s advice and hire a lawyer, and he admits it doesn’t look good for Megan. Megan asks her mom how she got the money for this lawyer and isn’t pleased when she figures out it was from her dad. She vows to pay him back.
When Megan and her lawyer show up at the sheriff’s station, Isabella is already there.
The scene switches back and forth between Sheriff Myers asking Megan and Isabella questions about the last time they saw Luke and about why their fingerprints were on the gun.
Sheriff Myers pokes holes in Megan’s statement about dropping Luke off at his house the last time she saw him. There’s no sign of them on the security footage of the Chambers’ home that night.
Episode three ends with a bombshell as the sheriff produces a bag belonging to Isabella. It was found at the Chambers’ cabin in a crawl space. The bag is stuffed with cash!
Prime Video’s adaptation of Casey McQuiston’s bestselling 2019 LGBTQ love story, Red, White & Royal Blue, has released its first batch of photos. The photos feature Taylor Zakhar Perez (The Kissing Booth 2 & 3) as the son of the United States President and Nicholas Galitzine (Cinderella) as Prince Henry in various stages of their relationship, including their disastrous encounter with a wedding cake.
The cast includes Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, Stephen Fry, and Uma Thurman. Ellie Bamber, Thomas Flynn, Malcolm Atobrah, Akshay Khanna, Sharon D Clarke, Aneesh Sheth, and Juan Castano also star.
Matthew López and Ted Malawer adapted McQuiston’s popular novel, with the Tony Award-winning López (The Inheritance) making his feature film writing and directing debut. The Plot:
Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez), the son of the President of the United States (Uma Thurman), and Britain’s Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine) have a lot in common: Stunning good looks, undeniable charisma, international popularity … and a total disdain for each other. Separated by an ocean, their long-running feud hasn’t really been an issue, until a disastrous — and very public—altercation at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, driving a potential wedge in U.S./British relations at the worst possible time.
Going into damage-control mode, their families and handlers force the two rivals into a staged “truce.” But as Alex and Henry’s icy relationship unexpectedly begins to thaw into a tentative friendship, the friction that existed between them sparks something deeper than they ever expected.

The CW’s answered a few lingering questions regarding their 2023-2024 primetime lineup, officially confirming Superman & Lois has been renewed for season four and All American: Homecoming earned a third season order. Both dramas could have gone either way as The CW trims down its roster following its acquisition by Nexstar.
While Superman & Lois and All American: Homecoming fans have reason to celebrate, the news isn’t so bright for Gotham Knights viewers. Gotham Knights did not escape the network’s chopping block and will not return for season two.

Superman & Lois, starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, will return with a 10-episode fourth season. All American: Homecoming received a 13-episode order.
The network, once known for its primetime lineup loaded with comic book-inspired dramas, is moving into the 2023-2024 primetime season with a dramatically decreased roster. All American, Walker, Superman and Lois, and All American: Homecoming are all safe, but gone are Kung Fu, and The Winchesters, Walker: Independence. The Flash, Nancy Drew, and Riverdale also ended their runs with the current broadcast season.
All American: Homecoming Plot: The series is a young adult sports drama set against the backdrop of the HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) experience at Bringston University, where Black excellence is a way of life. The series is centered around tennis player Simone Hicks (Geffri Maya), baseball prodigy Damon Sims (Peyton Alex Smith), and the diverse group of friends they have cultivated at Bringston University.
Superman & Lois Plot: In Superman & Lois, after years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters wreaking havoc on Metropolis, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the world’s most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent (Hoechlin) and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane (Tulloch), come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever — dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.
