‘Argylle’ Teaser Trailer with Sam Rockwell and Bryce Dallas Howard

It’s safe to say that no actual cats were harmed in the making of the Argylle teaser trailer. The quick clip from the fantasy spy thriller shows Sam Rockwell releasing an adorable cat as he and Bryce Dallas Howard stand on the roof of a building. The teaser promises we’ll get a better idea of what Argylle‘s all about when the full trailer arrives on September 27, 2023.

The cast also includes Henry Cavill (The Witcher), John Cena (Peacemaker), Oscar winner Ariana DeBose (West Side Story), Grammy winner Dua Lipa (Barbie), Emmy winner Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek), Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service), and Oscar nominee Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction).

The cute feline is played by Chip, the real cat of director Matthew Vaughn’s wife, supermodel Claudia Vaughn (née Schiffer).

Jason Fuchs (I Still See You) wrote the screenplay and produced along with Matthew Vaughn, Adam Bohling, and David Reid. Adam Fishbach, Zygi Kamasa, Carlos Peres, and Claudia Vaughn executive produced. The film’s an Apple Original Films production in association with MARV.

Universal Pictures will release Argylle in theaters on February 2, 2024.

Argylle Plot, Courtesy of Universal Pictures:

The greater the spy, the bigger the lie.

Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World franchise) is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books — which center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate — begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past.

Accompanied by Aiden (Oscar winner Sam Rockwell), a cat-allergic spy, Elly (carrying Alfie in her backpack) races across the world to stay one step ahead of the killers as the line between Elly’s fictional world and her real one begins to blur.
