The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) just announced the talent set to take the stage to present at the 23rd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards. Among the celebrities confirmed to present are Chris Hemsworth, Julianne Hough, Sarah Hyland, Patty Jenkins, Nick Jonas, Joe Keery, Diane Kruger, Justina Machado, Dacre Montgomery, and Kumail Nanjiani.
Jim Parsons, Jay Pharoah, Norman Reedus, Sebastian Stan, Jaimie Alexander, Anthony Anderson, Sean Astin, Rachel Bloom, Kate Bosworth, Alison Brie, Tituss Burgess, Kaley Cuoco, Natalia Dyer, Joseph Fiennes, Jim Gaffigan, and David Harbour will also present during the celebration of 2017’s outstanding films and television series.
“The talent involved in this year’s show is beyond what we could have hoped for. It is going to be quite an evening, packed with more star power than ever before,” said BFCA President Joey Berlin. “We are looking forward to celebrating with all of the nominees and making it a night they won’t forget!”
This year’s awards show will be hosted by first-time host Olivia Munn. The Critics’ Choice Awards will take place at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica and will air live on the East Coast on The CW Network, beginning at 8pm on January 11, 2018. The show will be tape-delayed on the West Coast, which means all those in the Pacific Time Zone need to be careful of spoilers on Twitter.
In addition to the regular awards categories, the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards in conjunction with The CW Network and the Association of National Advertisers will honor Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot with the second-ever #SeeHer Award. Gadot will be presented with the honor by Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. Viola Davis earned the first #SeeHer Award which recognizes a “woman who embodies the values set forth by the #SeeHer movement — to push boundaries on changing stereotypes and recognize the importance of accurately portraying women across the entertainment landscape.”
Gadot was chosen for the #SeeHer Award for being a “powerful voice advocating for women, not only on screen as the iconic Wonder Woman, but in life as well, using her platform to encourage those in the entertainment industry and beyond to strive for fairness and parity across genders.”
Pink Floyd’s “Money” helps set the tone for the trailer to FX’s upcoming dramatic series, Trust. As with the feature film All the Money in the World, Trust deals with John Paul Getty III’s kidnapping and his billionaire grandfather’s refusal to pay the ransom. However, the trailer for Trust seems to focus much more on John Paul Getty III prior to his kidnapping, fleshing out the character more than the movie did over its two-hour running time.
Trust was created by Simon Beaufoy, with Beaufoy, Danny Boyle, and Christian Colson executive producing. Oscar winner Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) also directed the first three episodes.
FX has set a Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT premiere.
The Plot: Inspired by actual events, Trust delves into the trials and triumphs of one of America’s wealthiest and unhappiest families, the Gettys. Equal parts family history, dynastic saga and an examination of the corrosive power of money, Trust explores the complexities at the heart of every family, rich or poor.
Told over multiple seasons and spanning the twentieth century, the series begins in 1973 with the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III (Harris Dickinson), an heir to the Getty oil fortune, by the Italian mafia in Rome. His captors banked on a multi-million-dollar ransom. After all, what rich family wouldn’t pay for the return of a loved one? Paul’s grandfather, J. Paul Getty Sr. (Donald Sutherland), an enigmatic oil tycoon and possibly the richest man in the world, is marooned in a Tudor mansion in the English countryside surrounded by a harem of mistresses and a pet lion. He’s busy.
Paul’s father, J. Paul Getty Jr. (Michael Esper), is lost in a daze in London and refuses to answer the phone. Only Paul’s mother, Gail Getty (Hilary Swank), is left to negotiate with the increasingly desperate kidnappers. Unfortunately, she’s broke.
Trust charts the teenage grandson’s nightmare ordeal at the hands of kidnappers who cannot understand why nobody seems to want their captive back. The cast also includes Brendan Fraser, Anna Chancellor, Norbert Leo Butz, Charlotte Riley, and Luca Marinelli.

I am thrilled that for this year’s awards, our AWFJ members voted to honor such a diverse array of talent and to recognize those who are leading with their voices to put an end to long time misconduct making the 2017 EDA Awards particularly relevant when art and film must be the vanguard of social progress.”

A few months back MTV announced most of the original Jersey Shore housemates are reuniting for a new series titled Jersey Shore Family Vacation. In support of the 2018 series, the network released a 20-second teaser that provides a variety of possible vacation locations for the group, including Miami, Seattle, and Las Vegas. (According to the teaser, the one location they’ll definitely be skipping during the 2018 reunion is The White House.)
Fans of the series can help decide where the gang will vacation by tweeting using the #JSFamilyVacation hashtag.
Jersey Shore regulars getting back together for Jersey Shore Family Vacation include Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. 495 Productions Founder and CEO SallyAnn Salsano executive produces along with Nina L. Diaz and Jackie French.
Jersey Shore premiered in 2009 and aired for six seasons before wrapping up in December 2012. The MTV reality series won two Teen Choice Awards and was nominated for a People’s Choice Award in 2011 in the Favorite TV Guilty Pleasure category. It lost to Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
In a 2014 interview with Showbiz Junkies, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was asked if viewers saw him at his worst during the reality TV series. “You probably saw me at my wildest but as for worst, no, because I was making millions of dollars a year and that wasn’t my worst. But once Jersey Shore ended, that’s when you go home and you sort of have a little bit of time to rebuild your life and see who you are, and see what you really want to do in life. What I really want to do in life is what I love and that’s being in front of the camera.”
The CW’s just released promotional photos from season three episode 10 of Supergirl. The photos include shots of Chris Wood in his new Legion suit as well as a good look at guest star Jesse Rath as Brainiac-5.

The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robert Rovner, and Jessica Queller.

Mon-El (Chris Wood) recruits one of the Legion members, Brainiac-5 (guest star Jesse Rath), to try to bring her back. Meanwhile, Reign continues her rampage on the city so the DEO teams up with the Legion of Superheroes to try to stop her.

However, Alex is forced to abandon this idyllic existence when Ryan persuades her to help him rescue Shelby from a notorious international arms dealer known only as The Widow, who is holding her hostage – and in exchange for her release she demands something that only Alex can provide.
Ryan and Alex recruit Owen and Harry to help rescue their friend and defeat the villain. To help the cause, Owen brings in former agent Jocelyn Turner (Marlee Matlin), who has her own dark past with The Widow. A whole new future lies ahead for this team when they agree to work together as an elite black-ops task force. The thrilling, heart-stopping adventures continue. Quantico stars Priyanka Chopra as Alex Parrish, Jake McLaughlin as Ryan Booth, Johanna Braddy as Shelby Wyatt, Russell Tovey as Harry Doyle, Alan Powell as Mike McQuigg, with Marlee Matlin as Jocelyn Turner and Blair Underwood as Owen Hall.
