“An evil queen steals control of a kingdom and an exiled princess enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright in a spirited adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance and betrayal that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.
Visionary director Tarsem Singh (Immortals) rewrites fairy tale history as a wicked enchantress (Julia Roberts) schemes and scrambles for control of a spirited orphan’s (Lily Collins) throne and the attention of a charming prince (Armie Hammer). When Snow White’s beauty wins the heart of the prince that she desperately pursues, the Queen banishes her to the forest, where a ravening man-eating beast hungrily awaits.
Rescued by a band of diminutive highway robbers, Snow White grows into an indomitable young woman determined to take back her realm from the treacherous Queen. With the support of her subjects, she roars into action in an epic battle that blends spectacle, magic and contemporary humor in Singh’s signature, jaw-dropping visual style.”
The film stars Lily Collins as Snow White, Julia Roberts as the Queen, Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott, Nathan Lane as the Queen’s servant, Mare Winningham as Baker Margaret, Sean Bean as the King, and Michael Lerner as Baron. The seven dwarfs are played by Mark Povinelli, Jordan Prentice, Danny Woodburn, Sebastian Saraceno, Ronald Lee Clark, Martin Klebba, and Joey Gnoffo.
Take a look at this new batch of pictures showing Collins, Hammer, Roberts, Lane, and the actors who play the dwarfs in scenes from the upcoming film:
I’ll admit it – I’m totally addicted to Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks,” so much so that it’s a good thing it’s impossible to wear out a track on an iPod.
The group joined Ben Stiller for the October 8, 2011 episode of Saturday Night Live, performing both “Pumped Up Kicks” and “Houdini” (another song I can’t get enough of, along with “Helena Beat”). Lead singer Mark Foster, drummer Mark Pontius and bassist Cubbie Fink delivered two terrific performances, and the surprise musical guest for “Houdini” was a great addition (albeit a slightly distracting one).

Official Synopsis: Long before he even met Shrek, the notorious fighter, lover and outlaw Puss in Boots becomes a hero when he sets off on an adventure with the tough and street smart Kitty Softpaws and the mastermind Humpty Dumpty to save his town. This is the true story of The Cat, The Myth, The Legend…The Boots.
Steven Spielberg will be competing against himself this holiday season when both The Adventures of Tintin and War Horse enter the box office fray. And while Tintin‘s working the family angle using the hit-and-miss performance capture technology, War Horse is working the emotional angle with a story aimed at capturing our hearts.
Official Synopsis: DreamWorks Pictures’ War Horse, director Steven Spielberg’s epic adventure, is a tale of loyalty, hope, and tenacity set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War. War Horse begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets—British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter—before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man’s Land.
The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse—an odyssey of joy and sorrow, passionate friendship and high adventure. War Horse is one of the great stories of friendship and war— a successful book, it was turned into a hugely successful international theatrical hit that is arriving on Broadway next year. It now comes to screen in an epic adaptation by one of the great directors in film history.

Co-writer, actor, and director George Clooney shares his thoughts The Ides of March, how this isn’t a political film but story of moral choices, who George Clooney the director is, Ryan Gosling’s performance, and on how The Ides of March reflects society in this interview video provided by Columbia Pictures.
The Plot:The Ides of March takes place during the frantic last days before a heavily contested Ohio presidential primary, when an up-and-coming campaign press secretary (Ryan Gosling) finds himself involved in a political scandal that threatens to upend his candidate’s shot at the presidency.

Fox has made it official: The Simpsons will be back for a 24th and 25th season! After some difficult voice actor contract negotiations – and a report on how much money the network would make if it just put the show into syndication – the longest-running scripted series on TV has been officially renewed.
The Simpsons will celebrate its 500th episode – wow – in February 2012.
And of course, Fox had to issue a reaction to the news of the renewal as if it came from the show’s patriarch. “Woo Hoo! I outlasted Andy Rooney!,” ‘said’ Homer Simpson.
Coming Up Next on The Simpsons:
“Treehouse of Horrors XXII” – Sunday, Oct. 30 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT). In the spooky opener, Homer takes a dangerous dive into an isolated canyon on Candy Peak, but when a crashing boulder traps his arm, he channels Aron Ralston (guest voicing as himself) to save himself. In “The Diving Bell and Butterball,” the first of three hair-raising Halloween tales, a venomous spider bite leaves Homer paralyzed, but when Lisa discovers Homer’s ability to communicate through natural gases, he is able to express his love for Marge.
The killer spells continue in “Dial D for Diddly,” when Ned Flanders, devout preacher by day, transforms into a cold-blooded vigilante by night. In the final terrifying tale, “In the Na’Vi,” Bart and Milhouse are assigned on a mission to access a sacred extract on a distant planet. They morph into the land’s indigenous one-eyed avatars, but when Bart finds love and an eternal mate abroad, he is caught in planet warfare.
Vice Verses, the eighth album from Switchfoot, debuted on the Billboard 200 at #8. Their single, “Dark Horses,” is climbing the charts, and the Grammy award-winning group is set to perform the hit on Conan on October 25, 2011.
In addition, the Vice Verses track “The War Inside” is included in the In Time trailer and their “Out of Control” song is part of the Hawaii Five-0 soundtrack.
In an interview with Huffington Post, Jon Foreman explained how Vice Verses explores what it means to be human. “Between the dialectic of life and death we are pulled tight, stretched out like the strings of my guitar,” said Foreman. “We are the notes dancing from the strings of time, held firm between life and death. This is the polarity of our existence, pulled tight between despair and hope, belief and doubt. We are strung tight between our birth and the grave. Humanity is dancing on the fretboard in-between. Death will one day cut the string. Until then, we live in the tension.”
The group’s currently on the road touring with Anberlin, with Atlantic Records reporting that during the tour the nonprofit organization StandUp for Kids is collecting new and used backpacks that will be used to distribute food and other essentials to at-risk, homeless, and street kids.
More on Switchfoot [Courtesy of Atlantic Records]:
Switchfoot, comprised of Jon Foreman (vocals/guitar), Tim Foreman (bass), Chad Butler (drums), Jerome Fontamillas (keys/guitar), and Drew Shirley (guitar), recorded most of Vice Verses in the band’s San Diego, CA home studio, working with producer Neal Avron (Sara Bareilles, Weezer). Mike Elizondo (Eminem, Dr. Dre, Pink), who produced 2009’s Hello Hurricane, served as executive producer. Hello Hurricane entered The Billboard 200 at No. 13 and contained the Modern Rock hits “The Sound (John M. Perkins’ Blues)” and “Mess of Me.”
The band took home “Artist of the Year” honors at the San Diego Music Awards earlier this year and remains very connected to their hometown. Each year, they host the Switchfoot Bro-Am Presented By Hurley, an annual concert/surf contest/silent auction. The event has raised more than $500,000 to date for San Diego-based children’s charities, including StandUp for Kids.
