Prime Video’s officially renewed The Boys spinoff Gen V for a second season. The renewal announcement came with just three new episodes remaining in the crazy and twisted first season.
“We couldn’t be happier to make a second season of Gen V. These are characters and stories we’ve grown to love, and we are thrilled to know people feel the same! The writers are already working on the new season – sophomore year is gonna be wild, with all the twists, heart, satire, and exploding genitalia you’ve come to expect from the show,” stated showrunner Michele Fazekas and executive producer Eric Kripke.
Season one premiered on Friday, September 29, 2023 and will wrap up on Friday, November 3.

Set in the diabolical world of The Boys, Gen V expands the universe to Godolkin University, the prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes – preferably with lucrative endorsements. You know what happens when supes go bad, but not all superheroes start out corrupt. Beyond the typical college chaos of finding oneself and partying, these kids are facing explosive situations … literally.
As the students vie for popularity and good grades, it’s clear that the stakes are much higher when super powers are involved. When the group of young supes discover that something bigger and sinister is going on at school, they’re put to the test: Will they be the heroes or the villains of their stories?
Jamie Kennedy gets completely freaked out when a voice comes through on the ghost box on Jack Osbourne’s Night of Terror. The one-minute clip shows Kennedy and Jason Mewes joining Jack Osbourne for the “Ashmore Estates” episode airing on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 9pm ET/PT on Travel Channel.
“Jason Mewes and Jamie Kennedy join Jack at Illinois’ Ashmore Estates for a crash course in paranormal investigating,” reads the Travel Channel’s synopsis. “This former poor farm turned psychiatric ward holds many dark secrets, some of which are rumored to still be six feet under…”
The short season will conclude on October 29, 2023 with the two-hour “Virginia City, Nevada” episode. The finale will feature the Osbourne family – Ozzy, Sharon, Jack, and Kelly – and finds Jack and Kelly investigating Piper’s Opera House and the Washoe Club, “two paranormal hot spots that may hold the key to understanding this Wild West town’s dark energies.”
The Tony-nominated Waitress arrives in theaters on December 7, 2023 to kick off a five-day series of screenings. Starring composer-lyricist Sara Bareilles, the Broadway musical is based on Adrienne Shelly’s 2007 film that starred Keri Russell, Nathan Fillion, and Jeremy Sisto.
The production entered the record books as the first Broadway musical with a top creative team comprised of four women – book by Jessie Nelson, music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, choreography by Lorin Latarro, and direction by Diane Paulus. Opening in 2016, the Brooks Atkinson Theatre hosted 1,500+ performances of the musical, making it one of the longest-running shows in recent history.
Bareilles says Waitress changed her life, and composing the music was a gift.
“The film is funny and dark and feminine and irreverent and emotional and so very, very musical,” said Bareilles, recalling watching Shelly’s film for the first time. “I found a piece of myself in each of these characters and learned so much from trying to tell their stories. It has helped me rediscover a purity and a playfulness in my own songwriting that I haven’t felt in years. I felt liberated to find new ways to express my ideas and energized by my incredible collaborators as well as the giant puzzle we were all trying to put together. The next four years of my life were all but consumed by this process, this story, this music, and a fierce devotion we, as a team, had to preserve Adrienne Shelly’s vision and the heart of this very special piece.”

Baz Luhrmann (Elvis) revisits his Australia feature film and transforms the nearly three-hour epic into the six-episode series Faraway Downs. The limited series will include an hour of footage that didn’t make the film’s final cut, as well as a different ending.
“I got the idea and started to relook at the footage and realized I’ve shot enough to do it as episodic storytelling through a revisiting of the piece, not necessarily as a better film than Australia, but a different variation on the themes,” explained Luhrmann in an interview with TheWrap. “I was able to use the strengths of episodic storytelling to breathe those things out and explore them in a stronger way.”
The feature film, and now the Hulu limited series it spawned, stars Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Bryan Brown, Brandon Walters, and Ben Mendelsohn. 2008’s Australia, which currently sits at 54% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, was budgeted at $130 million and grossed $211 million worldwide before exiting theaters.
Faraway Downs premieres on Hulu on November 26, 2023.

“The story centers on an English aristocrat, Lady Sarah Ashley (Nicole Kidman) who travels halfway across the world to confront her wayward husband and sell an unusual asset: a million-acre cattle ranch in the Australian Outback called ‘Faraway Downs’. Apple Original Films’ Killers of the Flower Moon marks the 16th time Martin Scorsese has worked with either Robert De Niro or Leonardo DiCaprio in a feature-length film, yet it’s the first Scorsese film that includes both actors in starring roles. Scorsese and De Niro began their 50-year association with 1973’s Mean Streets. 1976’s Taxi Driver, 1977’s New York, New York, 1980’s Raging Bull, 1983’s The King of Comedy, 1990’s Goodfellas, 1991’s Cape Fear, and 1995’s Casino followed, cementing their relationship as one of the most successful actor-director teams.
After a nearly 25-year break, Scorsese and De Niro reunited for 2019’s The Irishman, and now they’re back together again for 2023’s Killers of the Flower Moon.
During the two-decade break in the Scorsese / De Niro films, the Oscar-winning director cast Leonardo DiCaprio in 2002’s Gangs of New York, 2004’s The Aviator, 2006’s The Departed, 2010’s Shutter Island, and 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street. With his sixth Martin Scorsese movie, DiCaprio finally gets to star opposite Robert De Niro in a feature film.
Martin Scorsese spoke at great length (the iconic filmmaker never gives short answers) during an October 16, 2023 Killers of the Flower Moon press conference about his relationships with two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio:
“In the case of Robert De Niro, we were teenagers together, and he’s the only one who really knows where I come from, the people I knew, and that sort of thing. Some of them are still alive. He knows them. I know his friends, his old friends, and we had a real testing ground in the ’70s, where we tried everything, and we found that, you know, we trusted each other. It’s all about trust and love. It’s what it is.
And that’s a big deal because very often, if an actor has a lot of power – and he had a lot of power at that time – an actor could take over your picture. The studio gets angry with you, the actor comes in and takes it over. With him, I never felt that. I never felt that.
There was a freedom. There was experimenting and also not afraid of anything. I wasn’t afraid to do something. I just did it. And years later, he told me he worked with this kid, Leo DiCaprio, a little boy, in This Boy’s Life, and he said, ’You should work with this kid some time.’
It was just casual but with him, something like that – a recommendation – at that time, I think in the early ’90s, is not casual. He says it casually, but he rarely said that, you know? […] He rarely gave recommendations. And so, years go by, and I’m presented with Leo, with Gangs of New York – and we worked together in Gangs. He made Gangs possible, actually.
He loved the pictures I’ve made, and he wanted to explore the same territory. And so, we developed more of a relationship when we did The Aviator. And towards the end of it, there was a kind of something happening, a maturity with him…I’m not quite sure, but we really clicked in certain scenes. And that led to The Departed, and then that became much closer. You know, that was a project where Bill Monahan and other people were writing all the time and recreating that character that he played of Billy.
And so during that time, we really found out that even though there’s 30 years difference, he has similar sensibilities. You know, he’ll come to me and he’ll say, ‘Listen to this record, and it’s Louis Jordan and Ella Fitzgerald. I grew up with it. He’s not bringing me anything new, but he likes it. That’s interesting. Why is he bringing it [to me]? He’ll call me and say, ‘You know, I had a cold and I was looking at Criterion films, and, you know, I wanted to catch up on some of these classics and I saw this incredible movie. It’s incredible. It’s a Japanese picture. It’s called Tokyo Story. Did you ever see it?’
This was last year. I said, ‘Yeah. I mean, it took me a few years to catch up.’ I couldn’t even understand the Ozu style, seeing it the first time in the early ’70s, ’cause we’re used to Orson [camera placement], you know? And this guy got it from watching it on a big-screen TV. And that’s very interesting to me, to be open that way to older parts of our culture, newer parts of our culture, of course. And the curiosity that he has about other people and other cultures.

And there’s a trust, there’s a trust. And even if we can’t get it right away, we know we’ll come up with something. You know, maybe other people have relationships where they come up with it faster. Well, we don’t. We just work it through.
For example, the scene between Leo and Bob in the jail at the end. That scene ultimately was finally written, I think, a few days before we shot it, working with the two of them and working with Marianne [Bower] and everybody, because we had said so much and it could have gone so many different ways. But what does the picture really need? How much more is there for them to say to each other after all that’s happened, you know? And so we went that way.
It’s really, you know, it’s trust. Particularly during The Wolf of Wall Street, by the way. He came up with wonderful stuff that was outrageous, and so I pushed him. He pushed me, then I pushed him more, then he pushed me, and suddenly everything was wild, you know? [Laughing] And, yeah, it’s really quite something. And he had a good energy, too, on the set. That was also important, very important, because in the mornings, I’m not really good. I get on set and then I’d see him or Jonah Hill or him and Margot Robbie, or him and Lily [Gladstone], and suddenly they’re all like, ‘Hey.’ [Laughing] I’d say, Okay, let’s work.’”

EXPLORER: LAKE OF FIRE – Premieres Oct. 26 on National Geographic
In 2001, satellite imagery captured a mysterious “thermal anomaly” on an unexplored volcano at the ends of the Earth. The hour-long special Explorer: Lake of Fire, follows volcanologist and National Geographic Explorer Emma Nicholson and a team of climbers and scientists on an expedition to make the first-ever ascent of Mt. Michael on the remote Saunders Island. The hope is to discover a rare phenomenon known as a “lava lake,” a perpetually boiling cauldron of lava that could help unlock the mystery of predicting volcanic eruptions around the world.
Conditions at Mt. Michael are so extreme — including gale force winds, treacherous seas, white outs and toxic volcanic gas — that no one has been able to reach the top and investigate what’s inside … until now. Kevin Hart describes teaming up with Chris Rock for the documentary on their short stand-up tour as the “story about two separate journeys, but somehow align and end up at the same intersection at the top.” The duo co-headlined five shows in 2022, and Netflix’s Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Headliners Only provides a peek behind the curtain into the lives of Rock and Hart.
“In a first-of-its-kind documentary, Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Headliners Only will give audiences a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the lives of two comedy titans,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “This exclusive film follows Hart and Rock as they give first-hand accounts of their early lives, struggles, triumphs, and their unbreakable brotherhood.
The 2022 five-night arena tour produced by Live Nation kicked off on July 21st at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY, followed by stops at Prudential Center in Newark, Madison Square Garden in New York, and PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel. The “Rock Hart: Only Headliners Allowed” tour wrapped up in Brooklyn at Barclays Center on July 25th.
“When Chris and I realized we were both going to be on tour this year, we immediately knew we needed to do something special. We have been friends and mentors to each other for 20 years, but we have never shared a headlining stage together – until now. I cannot think of a better way to celebrate the return of live comedy than to co-headline a show with my brother Chris Rock. This is a major moment in comedy and one for the history books,” stated Rock in the tour announcement.
Rashidi Harper (Hip Hop Uncovered) directed the documentary, with CR Enterprises’ Chris Rock and Hartbeat’s Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, and Luke Kelly-Clyne serving as producers. The 51B’s Rashidi Harper, Malcolm Spellman, and Oby M. Okoye also produce. Executive producers include Hartbeat’s Thai Randolph, Jeff Clanagan, Mike Stein, Dave Becky, and Kevin Healey.
A missing child case hits too close to home for Gabi on NBC’s Found season one episode four. “Missing While a Pawn” will air on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT.

Public relations specialist Gabi Mosely (Hampton) — who was once herself one of those forgotten ones — and her crisis management team now make sure there is always someone looking out for the forgotten missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, this everyday hero is hiding a chilling secret of her own.

Enzo Ferrari (played by Adam Driver) describes racing as a deadly passion and terrible joy in the official trailer for Neon’s Ferrari. The two-minute trailer includes new action scenes as well as preview of the relationship between Enzo, Laura Ferrari (Penelope Cruz), and Lina Lardi (Shailene Woodley).
The cast of the action drama also includes Sarah Gordon, Gabriel Leone, Jack O’Connell, and Patrick Dempsey.
“It is the summer of 1957. Behind the spectacle of Formula 1, ex-racer Enzo Ferrari is in crisis. Bankruptcy threatens the factory he and his wife, Laura (Cruz) built from nothing ten years earlier. Their volatile marriage has been battered by the loss of their son, Dino a year earlier. Ferrari struggles to acknowledge his son Piero with Lina Lardi (Woodley),” reads Neon’s synopsis. “Meanwhile, his drivers’ passion to win pushes them to the edge as they launch into the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy, the Mille Miglia.”

Ferrari is based on Brock Yates’ Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races, The Machine and was adapted for the screen by Troy Kennedy Martin. Michael Mann directed and serves as a producer along with P.J. van Sandwijk, Marie Savare, John Lesher, Thomas Hayslip, John Friedberg, and Laura Rister. Andrea Iervolino, Monika Bacardi, Gareth West, Lars Sylvest, and Thorsten Schumacher also serve as producers.
Ferrari currently stands at 76% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes following festival screenings. Audiences will be able to judge for themselves when the film opens theatrically on December 25, 2023.
