Starz’s Outlander season seven episode five splits time between Brianna starting work in her new job as Plant Inspector and Jamie, Claire, and Ian’s experiences in Fort Ticonderoga.

The episode begins with Brianna (Sophie Skelton) finding Jemmy and Mandy in the old family graveyard and reminding them it’s not a playground. Jem admits that Mandy wanted to speak to granddad, although no one knows if that’s where he’s buried. Bree agrees it’s possible, and Jem confesses that he built a cairn for Jamie.

It’s too difficult for Bree even to enter the graveyard, so she remains at the gate. She’s not ready to take that step yet.

Bree returns home and holds more of her mom and dad’s letters. Roger (Richard Rankin) joins her, and she explains that the kids visit Jamie in the cemetery but haven’t found his headstone. She’s missing them terribly, and Roger thinks they’ve waited long enough and it’s time to read another letter.

The letter she opens is dated June 18, 1777, and it’s from Fort Ticonderoga.

Claire (Caitriona Balfe) writes that Jamie was conscripted into the Continental Army, and they’ve been at the fort for a few months. Jamie’s in charge of a group that calls themselves Fraser’s Irregulars – a name Jamie likes. His group’s working on building up the fort’s defenses while Claire’s working with Lt. Stactoe (Daniel Gosling) helping the injured. She’s not impressed with his skills as a surgeon, and he looks down on her because she’s a woman.

Ian (John Bell) is also at the fort with Rollo.

The British are heading their way from the north, but Major General St. Clair believes they can withstand an attack. (Jamie’s due to be released from service on July 10th.)

Claire ends the letter sending all their love, and Bree’s still upset once she’s done reading it. Roger suggests they check out the history books for any mention of Jamie or Claire, but Bree decides it’s better not to know.

Jamie (Sam Heughan) attends a meeting led by Brigadier General Fermoy (Olivier Raynal), and he warns Fermoy that they need to prepare for the British to launch an attack from Sugarloaf Mountain. Fermoy is skeptical, insisting the mountain is too high and inaccessible. Fermoy dismisses Jamie’s help, certain the British won’t attempt to fight from Sugarloaf.

Meanwhile, Denzell (Joey Phillips), Rachel (Izzy Meikle-Small), and William (Charles Vandervaart) discuss their differences as Denzell and his sister travel to Fort Ticonderoga while William is bound for Albany. They come across a man cutting wood, and he convinces them they’re heading in the wrong direction. The stranger offers a meal and bed at his home since it’s getting late.

The food served by Mrs. Johnson appears to be cooked rats, and Mr. Johnson explains that the two different armies marching through have taken their supplies, including food and clothing.

That night, William’s stomach keeps him awake, which is fortunate as Mr. and Mrs. Johnson aren’t the friendly people they pretended to be. Mr. Johnson attacks William with a knife while Mrs. Johnson goes after Denzell, with Rachel doing her best to defend her brother.

William’s able to get the upper hand and stabs Mr. Johnson in the stomach with a fire poker. He then knocks out Mrs. Johnson with a punch to the face.

The following morning, Rachel thanks William for saving her brother. She also reveals that Denzell got Mrs. Johnson to confess they’ve done this to other travelers. They have a cupboard full of stolen items, including jewelry, and Mrs. Johnson tried to bribe Denzell and Rachel into letting her go. Of course, they didn’t accept.

William confesses he’s never killed anyone before. He doesn’t know how to feel because he expected to have to kill someone in battle…but not like this.

They get back on the road and eventually part ways, but not before William tells them that if they run into trouble with British troops, mention that they know Harold Grey, Duke of Pardloe. William also hands over money given to him by Ian and insists they keep it.

Back at the fort, Ian’s tasked with taking a message to Joseph Brant (aka Thayendanegea) at the Shadow Lake village. The British are trying to get the Mohawks on their side, and General St. Clair wants Ian to deliver a letter requesting Brant’s Mohawks side with the Continental Army.

Ian respectively attempts to turn down the assignment, not wanting to return to Shadow Lake and dredge up painful memories. Unfortunately, painful memories aren’t enough to keep Ian from being assigned the job.

Ian pulls Claire into a private chat and asks what went wrong with the baby he lost. He believes something’s wrong with him since Emily has a child now, and he confesses he won’t marry again if he can’t have children.

Ian wonders if there’s something wrong with his sperm (something he learned about from Jamie), and Claire wishes she could help but she doesn’t have the instruments. Ian describes his deceased child as looking physically perfect, so Claire explains that many women lose babies due to a variety of different reasons.

“I can assure you this has nothing to do with your spirit and everything to do with science,” says Claire.

Ian’s relieved to hear that and smiles.

Jamie’s next to speak with Claire and informs her that his men captured a British regular and learned that Simon Fraser is in charge of the forward command. (Simon’s the second cousin of the Simon Fraser who Claire met.) Simon’s a good fighter, but his men are running out of food, which means they’ll need to attack the fort soon rather than surround it and wait for the Continental Army to surrender.

Jamie knows how Simon thinks and believes he needs to prove to Fermoy that Fort Ticonderoga can be attacked by cannons fired from Sugarloaf Mountain. Claire recalls the battle of Singapore in World War II, and when she says, “Seeing is believing,” Jamie gets the idea to demonstrate that he’s right.

Ian makes it to Shadow Lake village and spots Emily (Morgan Holmstrom). It’s a happy reunion and Ian asks her to take a short walk so they can talk. Emily can’t go far because of her son and newborn daughter. Ian’s pleased that her family’s grown and apologizes for not giving her a child.

Ian asks to meet her son and Emily seems shocked but agrees. The boy runs over, and he looks like a younger version of Ian! They spend a little time alone when Emily leaves to care for her baby, and the boy introduces himself as Swiftest of Lizards. The boy knows English and says his grandmother talks about him. Ian asks what she says, and he answers, “She says I’m the child of your spirit.”

He adds, “But I should not say so to my father.”

Emily rejoins them and asks Ian to give him a white man’s name. Ian names him Ian James.

Claire continues to nurse patients, and one, Mrs. Raven, is in the middle of an emotional breakdown. Her husband and son were killed, and she’s scared to death of the fort falling into British hands.

Mrs. Raven’s care will have to wait as Claire’s drawn into an argument between Lt. Stactoe and the newly arrived Dr. Denzell Hunter. They’re fighting over where to amputate patient Walter Woodcock’s leg, and Claire agrees it needs to go because his foot is gangrenous. She also agrees with Denzell that the leg must come off at mid-thigh rather than below the knee, as Stactoe suggests.

Claire confuses both men when she wants to boil water and clean the blades before they amputate.

Jamie has his men demonstrate to Brigadier General Fermoy that the fort is within firing range of Sugarloaf. But rather than thank Jamie and act on this information, Fermoy berates Jamie and orders him to bring his men back from Sugarloaf.

Ian returns to Fort Ticonderoga and is surprised to run into Rachel. They catch up, and Ian offers her his protection. Rachel laughs and accepts. She points out he’s got medicinal herbs, and he says they’re for his Auntie Claire. Rachel had no idea that Ian’s related to Claire; that means they’ll be seeing more of each other.

Claire inspects Walter’s leg, and he jokes about not being able to dance. That’s how he and his wife met and fell in love.

Night falls, and Jamie is proven correct. The redcoats have taken up positions on Sugarloaf Mountain and Fermoy lies and claims no one could have predicted this. The fort’s within range of their cannons, so it must be evacuated. Jamie reveals that his men have already commandeered boats because the escape will be quicker on the water.

Whatever can’t be carried needs to be destroyed so it won’t fall into the hands of their enemies.

They only have a few hours and Jamie tells Claire they’ll bring as many patients and civilians as they can. Unfortunately, Walter can’t go with them. His sutures won’t hold so soon after his surgery. Claire apologizes and assures Walter that the British will show him mercy. She also tells him how to care for his wound and gives him laudanum for the pain.

The final boats are loaded as smoke rises from the fort.

Brianna heads out on her first day at work as Plant Inspector, and, of course, she’s the only female on-site at the dam. One of the workers, Rob Cameron (Chris Fulton), volunteers to take her to the valve room where work is being done on a turbine. Rob and another man seem friendly enough as they have her step inside the building, even handing her a flashlight. But it’s a trick. She’s locked inside, alone, and left to find her own way out.

Bree studied the layout before arriving on site, and she’s fairly sure which way to go until she comes to a fork in the tunnel. She concentrates and recalls that she’s supposed to turn right.

A bizarre portal-ish window appears in the tunnel leading to the exit, and Bree covers her ears and rushes through it. Nothing happens, and she’s able to make her way outside safely.

Back at Lallybroch, Roger’s working outside when he spots Jemmy arriving home and rushing off into the bushes and into a building that’s off-limits. Roger fetches him and learns that Jemmy got in trouble at school for speaking in Gaelic after a boy insulted his family. He cursed at the teacher (using one of Jamie’s curses!) for grabbing his ear and shaking him and received an additional three slaps from the headmaster.

Roger promises to straighten things out. He asks Jemmy to pick up his food wrappers before they head inside, and Jemmy claims they’re not his.

At dinner, Bree makes up a story that the men applauded when she found her way out of the dam. The family cheers for her success, but Roger knows she’s hiding something.

They leave the kids to eat their dessert, and Brianna finally confesses she had a horrible day and is furious at the men. They only locked her in because she’s a woman. She’s worried they’ll never respect her, and Roger reminds her this must be what Claire went through as the only woman in her class at Harvard Medical School.

Roger’s proud of what she’s accomplished, and he bought a special pen as a present. Mandy’s screaming interrupts their kiss, and Jem says Mandy saw someone at the window. Mandy says it was the nuckelavee.

Roger recalls the food wrappers and checks around outside. No one’s there.

Later, Roger’s ready for a little intimate time with Bree, but she’s distracted. Rather than have sex with her handsome husband, she heads to a local pub where the dam workers are gathered. Women don’t usually visit the establishment, but Bree doesn’t care and takes a seat with the men. Rob teases her that they always lock the new person inside, but Bree warns him never to do anything like that again. If they do, she’ll have them all fired.

Episode five ends with Brianna alone and entering the cemetery. She smiles as she kneels by the cairn Jemmy made and then adds a stone. She speaks out loud to Jamie and tells him about her new position as Plant Inspector. Bree believes he’d be proud of her. She also informs him they brought Lallybroch.

BTS’s Jungkook Releases “Seven” Music Video

Jungkook of the super popular K-pop group BTS released his debut solo single “Seven” at midnight on Friday, July 14, 2023, and it’s already breaking records. The highly anticipated single was announced just a few weeks ago, and BTS fans – known as ARMY – shared their excitement all over social media.

The big surprise came when a teaser for the music video was released on July 12th. During the teaser, it was revealed that Grammy-nominated rapper Latto would be featured on the song. Latto had huge commercial success with her 2022 hit “Big Energy.”

“Seven” is described by Big Hit Music as “a fun summer song that puts its spin on the UK garage genre. The genre’s unique rhythm and texture meet with the catchy acoustic guitar sound, highlighting the light-hearted melody perfect for the summer. Jungkook’s unique timbre and playful energy complete the song.”

“Seven” was written and produced by Grammy-winning producers and songwriters Andrew Watt and Cirkut.

BTS is no stranger to not only breaking down barriers but also breaking records. And with each member releasing solo projects, we’ve learned they can break them individually as well.

“Seven” set a new record for the fastest song to hit number one on US iTunes in just an hour and six minutes. A record, by the way, Jungkook took from his own group when they did it with their June 2023 release, “Take Two.” Not stopping there, “Seven” also broke the record for the fastest song in iTunes history to reach number one in 100 countries in just two and a half hours.

A music video released simultaneously with the single unfolds with a movie-like storyline and quite unique aesthetics. Known for their works with Harry Styles, Cardi B, and more, Bradley Bell and Pablo Jones-Soler came together to direct the music video. Korean actor Han So-Hee and featured artist Latto are featured in the music video. The official YouTube video currently has 29 million views and counting.

Discussing the production of “Seven,” Jungkook said, “I deliberated on how more people could enjoy ‘Seven.’ This is my first time working on the UK garage genre, and the production process was very fresh and new. I also learned a lot from recording ‘Seven.'”

Jungkook kicked off his promotions with a debut performance of “Seven” on Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series. Jungkook will also be on the Elvis Duran Radio Show on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. There isn’t any word yet on other American promotions Jungkook has planned before he heads back to South Korea. (Late night talk shows are out of the question due to the ongoing writers’ strike.)

‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’ New Photos and September Premiere News

AMC Networks dropped new photos from the upcoming The Walking Dead spinoff The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon starring TWD fan favorite Norman Reedus. The batch of new stills arrived along with the premiere date news fans have been waiting to hear.

The latest zombie apocalypse series will join AMC’s primetime lineup on September 10, 2023. New episodes will air on Sundays at 9pm ET/PT.

Joining Norman Reedus in the new addition to The Walking Dead Universe are Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi. David Zabel serves as showrunner and executive produces with Reedus, Scott M. Gimple, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, and Daniel Percival.

AMC released this synopsis: “In The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Daryl (Reedus) washes ashore in France and struggles to piece together how he got there and why. The series tracks his journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.”

‘Alone’ Season 10 Episode 6 Recap: “King’s Gambit”

Alone Season 10 Taz — Taz in The History Channel’s ‘Alone’ season 10

The History Channel’s Alone season 10 episode six begins with five survivalists remaining in the competition. The wind kicks up and the temperature falls, forcing the competitors to attempt to stay warm in their shelters. And by the end of episode six, “King’s Gambit,” all five have managed to overcome the weather, food issues, and boredom caused by being stuck inside their shelters to remain in the hunt for the $500,000 grand prize.

Tarcisio “Taz” Ramos Dos Santos, Age 35, Becket, Massachusetts and Sergipe, Brazil

Day 24 – Taz works on his second gillnet and has built a gigantic moose caller out of paper birch. So far, no moose have responded.

He checks his food cache high up in a tree and his grouse and trout are okay, although they have a few maggots which he removes. Next, he sets up his second gillnet in the same place he lost his first one. This time, he’ll secure the net (made of paracord) better and be careful about the wind direction.

He admits he needs to ration his food at this point because of the loss of the first net.

Later that day, Taz checks his new net, and it didn’t catch anything. Taz’s main strategy was to pull in fish with a gillnet, but the fish are now moving to deeper waters for warmth. The canoe hasn’t been productive so he’s going to change things up and go hunting for big game. It uses more energy and burns more calories, but he’s willing to gamble for some protein.

He takes a shot at a grouse and misses. Arrow #2 also misses, and he needs to spend time searching for the arrows since he only has nine. (That’s the maximum number participants are allowed.) Fortunately, he locates both arrows fairly quickly. The bird has remained nearby, and this time he hits his target.

“My survival philosophy is just to adapt and adjust and to be aware of what’s around,” explains Taz.

As he’s heading back to his camp, he hears another grouse. His first shot kills the ruffed grouse, and Taz notes that he’s going to eat well. He’s feeling content and that he can win the competition.

Day 28 – Taz continues to work on his shelter that he’s named Sprouse Grouse Lodge. He bunkers down for the day and plays some chess since he has food for a few days. He’s a little worried about food in the long term, and he has a wall and door to finish on his wooden lodge.

His chess board is made from the box he found, and playing helps him think of other things besides the weather and food. Taz thinks his fellow competitors are tough and capable.

A storm is moving in, and Taz needs to get prepared.

Alone Season 10 Wyatt — Wyatt Black in The History Channel’s ‘Alone’ season 10

Day 24 – His net’s tangled and snagged on something underwater, but at least it contains a five or six-pound lake trout. Once out of the water, he notes that his net’s in bad shape. Wyatt sets to work on creating a new gillnet.

He knew what this environment was like and what to expect, yet nothing he planned for has materialized. Fortunately, he’s able to adapt and will ration his food.

Wyatt’s happier with his second net than his first.

Day 25 – The gillnet’s set up, so Wyatt works on chopping some firewood. He believes his shelter’s adequate – not elaborate. It doesn’t need to be fancy to keep him in the competition.

Day 26 – His new gillnet catches a monster pike. Wyatt estimates it’s 15-20 pounds and is incredibly happy because it means he’s got 10 days’ worth of food from one fish. Alone informs us that the fish will provide 10,000 calories.

Wyatt knows the best way to preserve his catch in this environment is to smoke it.

Later, he shows off the smoked fish and it looks, in his words, beautiful.

Day 29 – The wind’s blowing at 36 mph in the morning, kicking up whitecaps on the lake and making it hard for Wyatt’s hat to remain on his head. Wyatt’s shelter is holding up well, but he’ll need to touch it up after the storm. He’s never experienced wind that’s this strong and lasted so long in his life.

Mikey Hilton, Age 32, Rome, Georgia

Day 26 – It’s still dark out, but Mikey can’t sleep. He’s found a couple of rocks to use as a sharpening stone and sharpens his knife while confessing he’s suffering from insomnia for the first time in his life. It’s probably due to the lack of protein.

Today, he’s focusing on finding food and admits he’s so tired he’s not thinking straight. He’s looking for anything he can use on his walk, including berries and game trails. He picks a lot of berries and lucks upon wood with nails in it. He’ll use the nails to put a door on his shelter.

Bushcraft is ingrained in him, and Mikey describes himself as being born in 1990 but growing up in 1932. His family didn’t have electricity, and they hand-dug a well for water. His schoolwork was done by candlelight, and he’d shower in the rain.

Mikey promises his own kids will never have to live like that. He works hard to make sure they have what they need and suffers so they don’t have to.

Day 29 – It’s 1am and Mikey can’t sleep. He finally drifts off, only to wake again at 2:30ish. The storm’s set in and Mikey’s been just lying in bed listening to the rain. He decides to spend the rest of the day in the shelter hanging out.

Mikey works on dice to pass the time and then plays a game he made up to keep himself busy.

At 5pm, the rain has stopped but the wind’s still blowing at 29 mph. Mikey’s done being cooped up and heads out looking for something to eat. He thinks hunting is all about luck, and his luck is good. He spots a grouse and kills it with his first shot.

After dinner, he mixes up charcoal and water in little jars he found to create ink and writes a letter to his wife, Hazel, on a piece of birch bark. He wishes he had more time with them but needs to be away at work to provide what they need. If he wins the $500,000, that will buy him more time with his family.

He reads the letter to his wife out loud but shares that he’ll keep private any subsequent letters. After reading the letter, which basically explains how he created the ink, pen, and paper, he tells his family he loves them and goes to bed.

Alone Season 10 Melanie — Melanie Sawyer in The History Channel’s ‘Alone’ season 10

Melanie Sawyer, Age 54, Essex County, NY

Day 27 – Melanie’s built a solid wind wall around her firepit and reveals she really wants to dive with sharks in Bimini. She laughs about planning more adventures while seated in this remote Canadian wilderness.

Melanie’s collected reindeer moss and is going to process it to eat. It doesn’t taste good but provides vitamin D and simple sugars. It needs to be boiled twice before it’s cooked, and Melanie plans on boiling it and then drying it out. She’ll use it as a thickener for each of her meals.

She heads out to forage for mushrooms and berries and comes upon an area that had a recent fire. It’s a great spot for harvesting blueberries, and she explains that actually living what she teaches is an amazing experience.

Melanie’s walked nearly two miles – farther than she’s walked before on this challenge – and is impressed with a blueberry patch she’s found. (She says it’s about three acres of blueberries.) She thinks she’d be crazy not to visit this spot again.

Day 29 – Melanie’s out in the storm, getting rained on as the wind whips up. It’s currently blowing at 41 mph and is actually pushing her.

Back in her shelter, she shakes her bed moss around to keep it bouncy. Melanie’s going to conserve her energy until the weather allows her to return to the blueberry field.

Day 30 – Melanie woke up the previous evening to a big crash. Her woodshed broke apart from the swaying of the trees it was attached to, and Melanie decides to deconstruct it for now. The berries are her priority, and she may rebuild the woodshed later. She regrets building it around live trees.

She sets up a temporary station to cover her firewood and then takes a break to conserve energy for her trek to the berries.

At 1:30pm, she gets emotional thinking about her fiancé, Brian, and records a message on an SD memory card, believing she can keep the card a secret. Unfortunately, the rules state that she must return it to the producers. Nothing is private on any of the survivalists’ recordings.

She records her feelings about him and that she loves and misses him. She hopes to stay in the game and win the money, and what they can do with the cash is helping her stay focused. She confesses she can’t catch fish but isn’t going to give up. She says, “I can not show any sign of weakness on the camera because they’ll focus on it.”

Melanie does not want the producers to use anything that could make her look weak. (Side note: Melanie’s an incredibly strong woman and showing emotions or missing loved ones is not a sign of weakness.)

Alone Season 10 Alan — Alan Tenta in The HISTORY Channel’s ‘Alone’ season 10

Alan Tenta, Age 51, Columbia Valley, BC, Canada

Day 27 – Alan’s still having luck fishing and has fish eggs, liver, milt, and heart cooked for lunch. He always eats the organs first since they spoil quickly. He mistakenly eats the gallbladder and hopes he doesn’t get sick.

“I’ve never felt so rich in food as I do now,” says Alan. He’s paranoid about spoilage and builds a smoker to preserve some of his catch. His plan: get more fish, do more smoking, and preserve food for the long run.

He heads back out to fish, planning to process and smoke his fish tomorrow. Alan’s settled into this environment and is enjoying himself while getting food. He catches a big fish, but his spool rolls into the water, which definitely isn’t ideal. He needs to go into the 46-degree water to retrieve it since it’s integral to his survival.

Alan quickly strips to his shorts and steps into the water as the sun’s beginning to set. Luckily, he grabs it before spending much time in the chilly water.

Day 28 – Alan finishes his smoker while admitting he’s looking forward to suffering during this challenge, just to see how far he can push himself. This is his first time smoking fish, and he’s using snare wire as a grill and cooking with alder, birch, and willow.

He’ll smoke these fish and keep them for later when the fish don’t bite. Hopefully, he’ll keep catching fresh fish every couple of days and exist off them.

Day 29 – The wind is wreaking havoc on his smoker, making the smoke go out the door instead of up into his fish. The storm means Alan can’t fish and now he can’t smoke his fish, either.

Alan’s bored, which is tough on his mental state. He’s back in his shelter and can’t do much but wait for the storm to pass through.

Day 30 – His smoker’s still working hard and he’s worried about the fish getting moldy. If he’d known about the storm, he would have sliced the fish into thinner pieces.

He’s going to retire his Lake Trout Baby #1 lure and make a new, improved version. He’s impressed with a piece of bark he’s whittled to look like fish skin and confesses there’s an emotion that feels like physical pain in his chest when he thinks about his family. It’s weird not to be able just to call them, and that messes with his head.

He finishes Lake Trout Baby #2 and heads down to the shore to try it out. He becomes incredibly frustrated when he loses two fish in a row. Alan’s never had such bad luck fishing in his life.

‘Oppenheimer’ Special 5 Minute Clip Unveils New Footage

Editor Jennifer Lame put together this five-minute video from Oppenheimer, written and directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Cillian Murphy. The video features new scenes from the R-rated thriller, which is going head-to-head in theaters against Barbie in a matchup referred to as “Barbenheimer.” Who will win? Moviegoers who love being emersed in big productions on the largest screeners possible.

Cillian Murphy reunites with director Nolan to star as J. Robert Oppenheimer, father of the atomic bomb. Murphy previously worked with Nolan on 2005’s Batman Begins as Dr. Jonathan Crane / Scarecrow and put in a cameo in 2008’s The Dark Knight. In 2010’s Inception, Murphy played Robert Fischer, heir to the energy conglomerate Fischer Morrow. And in 2017’s Dunkirk, Murphy played a Royal Navy soldier. Oppenheimer marks his first starring role in a Nolan film.

“What I wanted to do was take the audience into the mind and the experience of a person who sat at the absolute center of the largest shift in history,” said Nolan, describing his interest in telling Oppenheimer’s story. “Like it or not, J. Robert Oppenheimer is the most important person who ever lived. He made the world we live in, for better or for worse. And his story must be seen to be believed.”

Emily Blunt stars as Robert’s wife, biologist and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer. Oscar winner Matt Damon is General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project, and Robert Downey, Jr. plays Lewis Strauss, a founding commissioner of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.

Oscar nominee Florence Pugh is psychiatrist Jean Tatlock and Benny Safdie is theoretical physicist Edward Teller. Michael Angarano plays Robert Serber, and Josh Hartnett plays pioneering American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence. The cast also includes Oscar winner Rami Malek, eight-time Oscar-nominee Kenneth Branagh, Dane DeHaan, Dylan Arnold, David Krumholtz, Alden Ehrenreich, and Matthew Modine.

Oppenheimier is based on Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Nolan’s big-budget thriller marks the first time a feature film has included IMAX black and white analogue photography.

Universal Pictures’ Oppenheimer opens in theaters on July 21, 2023.

‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’ Clip and Fan Screenings Details

The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem clip shows the Turtles preparing for an incredibly difficult mission. Their objective: retrieve snack foods without making eye contact with any humans. After all, humans are the demon scum of the earth – according to the TMNT and Splinter.

Paramount Pictures also announced two special TMNT preview screenings. Per Paramount:

“The Sneak Preview will include one show on Saturday, July 29 at 2:00pm local time. The Early Access Fan Event will include one show on Monday, July 31st at 7:00pm local time. Both events will be available at participating theatres across the country, in advance of the film’s nationwide debut on August 2. Sundance Now’s docuseries The Heiress and the Heist explores the life of English heiress Rose Dugdale and her involvement in the Irish Republican Army (IRA). The three-part true crime documentary series charts Dugdale’s extraordinary transformation from debutante to rebel to art thief.

Directed by David Harvey (The Kennedys’ Irish Mafia, Butchers of the Bayou) and executive produced by Shannon Cooper, Jonathan Ford, Ronan Hand, and Mariana Rios Sanchez.

Sundance Now offered this description of documentary series:

The Heiress and the Heist chronicles Rose’s transformation as a revolutionary — from her early childhood in Devon to the time she spent in Limerick Prison — and includes historical events and the social upheavals that affected England, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland from the late 1960s to mid-1970s. The focus of the series is the Russborough House heist from 1974, which was largely orchestrated by Dugdale who acted as the brains of the operation, selecting which paintings were to be stolen at the time of the robbery.

The immediate aftermath of the crime is relayed by key witness testimonies, including the crime correspondents who reported the story and the police officer who made the detection and arrest of Dugdale in Cork with the 19 paintings.

All episodes will premiere on Sundance Now and AMC+ on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

Episode 1
To rebel against her privileged background and family wealth, Rose Dugdale organizes the robbery of her family home. The possibility of her committing any further criminal acts is deemed “extremely remote” but her radicalization is only beginning.
Episode 2
The night of April 26, 1974, Dugdale leads a raid on Russborough House to steal paintings kept in the stunning Palladian mansion. Under her specific instructions, the gang steal 19 works of art valued at around $90 million today.
Episode 3
The paintings are recovered and Dugdale is sentenced to prison. Months later, Eddie Gallagher and Marion Coyle kidnap Dutch businessman, Tiede Herrema, to force the release of Dugdale and two other IRA members. After 19 days, Herrema is released.

‘The Witcher’ Season 3 Volume 2 Drops New Trailer and Photos

Netflix’s The Witcher season three volume two trailer declares that destiny put these heroes together – never lost, always found. The new trailer for the final episodes of season three (also the final episodes with Henry Cavill) arrived along with a batch of new photos.

The Witcher season three part one premiered on June 29, 2023 and included episodes one through five. Part two, with episodes six through eight, launches on July 27th.

Season three stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Myanna Buring as Tissaia, and Eamon Farren as Cahir. ‘Mayans M.C.’ Season 5 Episode 9 Recap: “I Must Go in Now For the Fog is Rising”

FX Mayans M.C. season five episode nine – the series’ penultimate episode – serves up one of the most devastating deaths of its entire run…thus far. No one is safe as EZ continues to wage war with the Sons of Anarchy.

Episode nine, “I Must Go in Now For the Fog is Rising,” begins with Bottles (Alex Barone) and Guero (Andrew Jacobs) silent as they ride back to town in the back of a stranger’s pickup truck. Witnessing the destruction of Santo Padre’s cookhouse at the Broken Saints ranch weighs heavy on their minds as they head back to the clubhouse.

Sofia (Andrea Cortés) wakes and leaves EZ (JD Pardo) in bed with Sally when suddenly Sally barks in alarm. EZ grabs his gun, responding to pounding on his door. He’s shocked to see Guero and Bottles waiting outside.

Angel (Clayton Cardenas) and Maverick have moved in with Felipe (Edward James Olmos), and Felipe’s done his best to make his son and grandson feel at home. He’s made room for Angel’s belongings and seems happy to have them under his roof. Angel’s an amazing dad, and Felipe tells him he’s proud of the man he’s become.

Angel becomes emotional and asks how he’s supposed to tell Maverick that they weren’t “good enough” for Adelita to stay and be involved in their lives. Felipe suggests that instead, he should tell Maverick that his mom loved him deeply.

“A boy without a mother’s love turns hard. Don’t let that happen. Don’t let him become like us. Don’t let him be us,” says Felipe.

EZ rides to the Broken Saints ranch and sees for himself that the cookhouse has completely burned down. Smoke lingers in the air as he uncovers bodies under a tarp. One of them is Elio the cook.

A warning shot is fired before Johnny Panic (Caitlin Stasey) walks up and tells EZ the Sons killed two of the Broken Saints and then set fire to the cookhouse. This is all because they made a deal with the devil.

EZ doesn’t pause to show concern for the dead before he asks if any of the supplies are salvageable. More people will die if he can’t cook heroin. A Broken Saints club member reacts by delivering a punch to EZ’s face for his heartless behavior. (He deserved it.)

Johnny tries to control the situation, taking the blame for allowing the Mayans to use their ranch. She begs her club to punish her but leave EZ alive. If they kill him, they’ll just bring more trouble down on the Saints.

EZ survives the situation, but only because of Johnny’s intervention.

Meanwhile, Sons of Anarchy San Bernardino President Isaac Packer (JR Bourne) cries out and sobs over the death of his brother, Les (played by Robert Patrick), who succumbed to cancer the previous night. His men let him grieve alone while they discuss the smelly bodies of the women killed when the Mayans broke out Hope. (Terry lied and said it was the Mayans, not Letty.) The dead bodies are still stacked up inside the clubhouse, and Isaac won’t let the club bury them yet.

Terry’s story is viewed with suspicion, but he sticks to it. Isaac interrupts the conversation to announce that he wants the Mayans to know the pain of losing a brother. (Is he placing a target on Angel?!)

Over at the Galindo estate, Emily (Sarah Bolger) watches Miguel (Danny Pino) play with Cristobal and thanks Luis for helping her with Marlon’s mother’s body. Luis reminds her that the Galindos are his family, so of course he’d help. Luis adds that he’s always the one who takes care of Miguel’s problems. Emily gives him a look, realizing he’s the one who killed her sister.

Later, Miguel meets with Deputy Assistant Inspector General Patricia Devlin (Dana Delany) and is ready to make a deal. He wants his family out from under the thumb of the U.S. government and promises to give her whatever she needs on Potter. In exchange, he wants full immunity.

Miguel warns Patricia that Potter will crush her because he always knows what everyone’s doing. Miguel swears he knows things she doesn’t, and what he knows is enough to get Potter convicted. But first, he needs the deal that gives him and Emily full immunity in writing.

The mention of Emily piques Patricia’s interest. Why should Emily need immunity? Miguel doesn’t offer specific reasons but does hand over the first piece of the puzzle in taking down Potter.

Patricia follows Miguel’s lead and locates Potter’s wife and kids in Oceanside. Potter (Ray McKinnon) walks up, sends his family away, and demands to know what she’s doing. He threatens Patricia, calling her a naïve stunted b*tch, and warns her that this isn’t a game. She doesn’t back down, and Potter tells her that now this is personal.

Patricia claims she’s there to take away everything he has – including his family – and has the goods to take him down. “I know about all the bodies under your watch,” says Patricia, reminding him he’s not untouchable and will be in jail soon.

As she’s walking off, she tosses out, “They squeal when you squeeze them.”

Potter’s mind races as he tries to connect the dots on who squealed. Does he land on Miguel? EZ?

EZ’s lost in thought as he heads home and doesn’t see a coyote in the road until it’s almost too late. He swerves before he hits it but crashes his bike and spills into the road, injured. A car pulls over minutes later and the driver is….wait for it…Wendy Case (Drea De Matteo), Jax Teller’s ex-wife and mother of his son, Abel. (That’s a shocking surprise guest no one saw coming!)

She helps EZ to his feet and assumes by his appearance that he’s been going through things. Wendy knows this since her ex was in a club, but she won’t disclose his name or what club since she’s not sure if the clubs are allies or enemies at this point.

They chat a little, and Wendy reveals that her sons ride dirt bikes now. She seems hopeful that’s as close to being part of a club as they’ll get. (She’s raising both Abel and Thomas, Tara and Jax’s son.)

With Wendy’s help, EZ’s able to get his bike back up on its wheels. Wendy admits she feels sorry for his girlfriend since girlfriends and wives never know if their men will return home.

EZ can’t get a cell signal, and Wendy volunteers to give him a ride to town. They drive in silence for a few miles and finally EZ asks about her ex. She says he’s gone and that EZ reminds her of him. Wendy admits she never knew what her ex was thinking. (Damn, it still hurts thinking about Jax’s death.)

EZ confesses he feels like there’s a grey veil between him and everyone else that doesn’t allow him to touch the world. Wendy believes he’s describing trauma and that she’s been through her fair share of it, too. They talk about her boys and EZ not having children, and she wonders what’s right in front of him that he’s missing.

They arrive at a shop and EZ arranges to get his bike picked up and a ride back to Santo Padre. He thanks Wendy for her help, and she admits it felt like going back in time. Before she leaves, she tells EZ to go home and push through the veil. He needs to really see the woman he’s with, and in turn, the woman needs to be able to see him.

Wendy drives off without ever telling EZ that she was married to Jax Teller. (Thank you Mayans M.C. for that incredibly moving throwback to SoA days.)

Later that night, Miguel gets a call from Patricia. They have a deal. However, he’ll need to tell her everything he’s done under Potter’s watch. Miguel turns and looks at Emily and Cristobal and then agrees.

Potter has an urgent meeting with Katie McNeill (Stella Maeve). Katie has no idea what he wants and thinks it’s weird that she was pulled out of bed and taken to a park in La Jolla late at night for this meeting. She’s aware Potter got EZ out of prison and that because of that, Potter’s responsible for lots of deaths. Potter insists he’s her last hope and that her knowledge/compulsions can help put the crosshairs dead center on the Mayans.

Potter admits he needs her help, and it seems the mention of taking down the Mayans has grabbed her attention. However, Katie insists that if she joins him, EZ must die. Potter agrees.

EZ returns home and tells Sofia he loves her so much it hurts. He promises he’s there for her and admits everything’s crashing down around him. They promise to have each other forever.

Isaac, Terry (Greg Vrotsos), and the Sons break down the door at Angel’s house. (I knew that’s who Isaac would target!)

Felipe says goodnight to Maverick and then heads into the kitchen. He’s setting the table when he hears what he believes is Angel returning with the food. It’s not Angel, and shots ring out. Felipe’s hit but able to move, and he turns off all the lights and grabs two guns as Isaac sings out, “Angel.”

Felipe takes out one intruder and shoots at but misses Isaac. Isaac explains he’s come for Angel just as Felipe shoots at another of Isaac’s men. Maverick cries out at the noise, and Terry tries to convince Isaac to leave since Angel’s not there.

Felipe fires three more times and then enters Angel’s bedroom where Maverick’s upset in his crib. He picks up the boy and comforts him, and then slowly sits down, wincing in pain. He holds Maverick close and repeats that everything’s going to be okay.

Felipe fires two more shots when the doorknob turns and continues to try and keep Maverick calm. Blood is flowing out of Felipe’s wound, and he loses his struggle to remain conscious.

Angel’s munching on food as he’s driving home but stops eating when he sees flashing lights and cops parked in front of his dad’s house. He’s frantic as he tries to get into the house while the cops hold him back. He spots Maverick being carried out and is allowed to go to his son.

He holds Maverick tight and says, “My boy,” repeatedly until a covered dead body is wheeled out of the house on a gurney in front of him. Maverick’s little fingers point at the gurney as it goes by, and he touches his dad’s face as tears flow while watching the coroner’s van door close.

The episode ends with Angel holding Maverick tight as the coroner’s van drives away.

‘The Hardy Boys’ Releases Its Third and Final Season Trailer

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin‘s Bailee Madison joins the third and final season of Hulu’s The Hardy Boys as Drew Darrow. The official trailer for the upcoming final season reveals Madison’s character is going to get involved in the gang’s last case.

Rohan Campbell stars as Frank Hardy, Alexander Elliot is Joe Hardy, Anthony Lemke plays Fenton Hardy, and Bea Santos is Aunt Trudy. The cast also includes Keana Lyn as Callie Shaw, Adam Swain as Chet Morton, Cristian Perri as Phil Cohen, Riley O’Donnell as Biff Hooper, and Alli Chung as Jesse Hooper.

Additionally, season three stars Krista Nazaire as Belinda Conrad, Atticus Mitchell as J.B.Cox, and Joe Dinicol as Agent Driscoll.

The third season premieres on July 26, 2023 on Hulu.
