Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie are set to write and executive produce We Were Liars for Prime Video. The streaming service has given a series order to the project based on the bestselling young adult novel by E. Lockhart.
Author Lockhart will be involved in the series as an executive producer along with My So-Called Company’s Emily Cummins.

But finally, we are elated to be bringing it to life with everyone at Prime Video and UTV, who are just as passionate about this twisty tale as we are. Plec’s credits include Kyle XY, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, The Tomorrow People, Containment, Legacies, and Roswell, New Mexico. Her most recent young adult series, Vampire Academy, premiered in September 2022 on Peacock.
Adly MacKenzie worked with Plec on The Originals, and created, wrote, and executive produced Roswell, New Mexico which wrapped up its four-season run in September 2022.

Prime Video describes the series as a tragic love story and an amnesia thriller set on a privately owned island off the coast of Massachusetts.

Prime Video’s announcement didn’t include any details on when fans of the bestselling novel can expect casting news.
CBS’s Blue Bloods will return from a three-week break with season 13 episode 16, “The Naked Truth.” Directed by Donald Thorin, Jr. from a script by Nicole Abraham and Daniel Truly, episode 16 will air on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT.
The cast is led by Tom Selleck as Frank Reagan, Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan, and Bridget Moynahan as Erin Reagan. Will Estes stars as Jamie Reagan, Len Cariou is Henry Reagan, Sami Gayle is Nicky Reagan-Boyle, Marisa Ramirez plays Det. Maria Baez, and Vanessa Ray is Officer Eddie Janko.
Episode 16 guest stars include Peter Hermann as Jack Boyle and Alysha Umphress as Tracey.
“The Naked Truth” Plot: Jamie and Eddie find themselves at odds when Jamie learns that Eddie’s close friend Tracey may be using the restaurant she owns as a drug front. Also, Erin forms an alliance with Anthony and her ex-husband, Jack Boyle, when she is accused of causing the suicide of a former colleague; Frank weighs whether he should fire a female officer who has an online profile featuring naked photos of herself; and Danny and Baez try not to be influenced by their own biases when they are faced with various descriptions of the same suspect.
Blue Bloods is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Frank Reagan is the New York Police Commissioner, and heads both the police force and the Reagan brood. He runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry, during his stint as chief.
A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son, Danny, a seasoned detective, family man and Iraq War vet who on occasion uses dubious tactics to solve cases with his partner and new mother, Detective Maria Baez. Erin, the middle daughter, is a New York assistant D.A. who serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father, while also pursuing a run for district attorney. Jamie is the youngest Reagan, a Harvard Law graduate and the family’s golden boy.
Unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and follow in the family footsteps as a cop. He’s found a friend and ally in his wife, Eddie, who keeps him on his toes, and has very different reasons than the Reagans for joining the police force.
Just days after Joy Ride released its wickedly funny first trailer and debuted at SXSW, the cast has been named as CinemaCon’s Comedy Ensemble of the Year Award recipients. Critics who caught Joy Ride at SXSW call the film fun and the studio comedy to beat this year, and the trailer confirms it could be this year’s Bridesmaids.
Lionsgate plans to screen Joy Ride at CinemaCon – the annual gathering of the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) – on April 27, 2023 prior to the convention’s Big Screen Achievement Awards. Audiences can catch the comedy in theaters on July 7, 2023.

Ed Sheeran shares a behind-the-scenes look at his private life with the Disney+ documentary series Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All. The four-part docuseries dives into Sheeran’s background and reveals details on some of his biggest hits as well as his personal influences.
“I’ve always been very guarded in my personal and private life; the only documentary I’ve ever made has been one that focused on my songwriting,” stated Ed Sheeran. “Disney approached me to make a four-part documentary, and it felt like the right time to open the door and let people in. I hope people enjoy it.”
David Soutar directed the docuseries and Fulwell 73’s Ben Winston and Ben Turner served as executive producers.
“In this docuseries, we’re going to reveal a side of Ed Sheeran that fans have never seen before,” said Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television. “Together with Fulwell 73, we’ve created something truly authentic and personal that will not only entertain audiences but also inspire them to dream big and pursue their passions.”
Sheeran will be releasing his sixth studio album, “ – ” (pronounced “Subtract”) on Friday, May 5. The first single “Eyes Closed” will drop on Friday, March 24.

Disney+ has set a May 3, 2023 premiere date for all four episodes.

Together, they used the burgeoning internet to find their audience. “The A Team” breaks America but for Ed something was still missing. Ed shares the story behind his iconic love song, “Perfect” about his old school friend and now wife Cherry which tells of their romantic love story. Ed seems to have everything, until Cherry gets life-altering news and Ed quickly realizes that plans can change in an instant and he will have to adapt.
“Loss”
Ed, his parents, and wife Cherry look at old photos of Ed and explain why he decided to return to live in his English hometown. With unseen footage of Ed’s Divide Tour, Ed introduces his tight fortress of trusted friends that keep him anchored. Then, the unthinkable happens. Ed’s best friend, Jamal Edwards, suddenly dies. Ed struggles through a memorial for Jamal as he considers Jamal’s legacy.
Ed meditates on the meaning of friendship and, using music as therapy, dives deep into work. During Ed’s 5-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium, British artist, Stormzy, joins Ed on stage in an epic performance before a smaller, surprise gig in his hometown. “Focus”
Ed shows his songwriting talents in exclusive archival footage showing the inception of one of his biggest hits, “Bad Habits.” Ed explains the origin story of writing “Eyes Closed” in 2018, through to its latest heartfelt version. After a turbulent year, Ed’s able to channel his emotions, and pours himself into completing his 5-album masterplan with Subtract, which has eluded him for over a decade.
Mourning the loss of Jamal, Ed continues at pace, filming 14 music videos for his new album and has his childhood dream come true when he performs with Eminem at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, but Cherry worries he may be using work as a distraction. In an intimate performance, Ed publicly shares songs from Subtract for the first time but is overwhelmed when his emotions get the better of him.
“Balance”
In the final episode, Ed Sheeran jets off to America to promote his tour. Both Ed and Cherry reflect on how they manage the challenges of balancing family life and work when they are regularly miles apart. Reunited at their home, Cherry explains how much of a shift she has seen in Ed over the last year. Ed meets up with friend and fellow British artist, Stormzy, to share his apprehensions of releasing his most personal thoughts into the world with Subtract.
In a tribute to Jamal, Ed writes a beat for his “F64” rap about their friendship for an intimate performance at Chelsea FC’s home ground, Stamford Bridge. After some good news about Cherry’s health, she and Ed reflect on all the hardships and triumphs over the last year and look towards the future having a more cherished outlook on life.
The promo video for NBC’s The Blacklist season 10 episode five features “Ode to Joy,” a lion, and Red advising someone to live like you’re dying. Episode five, “The Dockery Affair,” will air on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT.

Ciaran Hinds joins ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ (Photo Credit: Prime Video)
Prime Video’s epic fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has signed on Ciarán Hinds, Rory Kinnear, and Tanya Moodie for season two. The just-announced new cast members will be featured in recurring roles in the upcoming season. Prime Video did not provide any details on who Hinds, Kinnear, or Moodie are playing.
Season two is currently shooting in the UK.
J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay return as showrunners, guiding the series through the Second Age of Middle-earth, a period prior to J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books. Payne, McKay, Lindsey Weber, Callum Greene, Justin Doble, Jason Cahill, and Gennifer Hutchinson serve as executive producers.
In December 2022, it was announced Ben Daniels (The Exorcist), Nia Towle (Persuasion), Gabriel Akuwudike (Hanna), Yasen “Zates” Atour (The Witcher), Amelia Kenworthy, and Nicholas Woodeson (Silent Witness) had been cast in recurring roles. That was followed by the news that Oliver Alvin-Wilson (The Bay), Stuart Bowman (The Pact), Gavi Singh Chera (The Undeclared War), William Chubb (Vampire Academy), Kevin Eldon (Game of Thrones), Will Keen (His Dark Materials), Selina Lo (Boss Level), and Calam Lynch (Bridgerton) had also signed on to take a trip to Middle-earth.
Ciarán Hinds earned a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for his performance in Belfast. Hinds’ credits also include Munich, Silence, There Will Be Blood, Justice League, and The Eclipse. In addition, Hinds played Mance Rayder on Game of Thrones and Julius Caesar on Rome.
Rory Kinnear was recently seen playing multiple characters in Alex Garland’s Men and as Admiral Chauncey Badminton in Our Flag Means Death. Additional credits include the Bond films – Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre – as well as The Imitation Game, Broken, and Bank of Dave.
Tanya Moodie earned the Royal Television Society’s Breakthrough Award for her work in Motherland. Moodie’s credits also include Tin Star, A Discovery of Witches, The Man Who Fell to Earth, and Neverwhere.

“Patriot Game” Plot: After an operative kills all but one of the employees at a marine biology research group, McCall and the team join forces with Colton Fisk (Logue) when they discover a connection between the murders and a secret CIA program he was involved in.
The Equalizer is a reimagining of the classic series starring Academy Award® nominee and multi-hyphenate Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills as a former CIA operative to help those with nowhere else to turn. McCall presents to most as an average single mom who is quietly raising her teenage daughter. But to a trusted few, she is The Equalizer – an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who’s also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption.
Robyn’s clandestine work and her personal life collide when her smart and observant daughter, Delilah, and her aunt Vi, who lives with Robyn to help her balance life as a working mother, discover her secret career as a vigilante. The opening scene of Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown season two episode 10 – the season finale – confirms Robert is gravely injured but still alive. Episode nine ended with Bunny’s men brutally assaulting the SWAT team leader, and Mike pulling up just as they raced away.
Robert’s hooked up to machines as his fellow officers gather outside his room. Kyle (Taylor Handley) is concerned Robert isn’t going to make it, as Stevie (Derek Webster) and Ian (Hugh Dillon) try and figure out which of Robert’s enemies could be responsible. Mike (Jeremy Renner) doesn’t reveal that Bunny’s behind the beating.
Kyle pulls his brother aside to let him know Tracy left. Kyle confesses that he’s worried for their safety now that Robert’s been attacked. If the man who gives the beatings is clinging to life, how can any of the rest of them feel safe?
Mike tells his brother he should go be with Tracy and asks Ian to give him updates if Robert’s condition changes.
Mike heads off for his midnight meeting with Milo in the park, but he’s delayed when he’s forced to stop at a railroad crossing. A car pulls up behind him and three Aryan Brotherhood thugs jump out, riddling his car with bullets.
Mike bides his time and waits until the shooting stops before making his move. He takes out the first one easily enough but is forced out of the car to handle the remaining two. The second one goes down when Mike shoots his leg from under the car and follows that up with a kill shot. The third one meets his end while standing at the front of the car.
It’s 12:03am when the attack finally ends, and Mike’s missed his meeting. He drives off in his attackers’ car, leaving his own vehicle and the three dead gang members behind by the railroad tracks.

Meanwhile, Miriam (Dianne Wiest) jerks awake when she hears a loud bang outside. She grabs a gun and steps into the backyard just as Iris steps out of one of the sheds. Iris (Emma Laird) claims she didn’t have anywhere else to go.
PTSD is keeping Kareem (Michael Beach) up at night and he tells his wife, Vanessa, “they took it.” He can’t get back to where he was before and doesn’t feel like he’s there for her or the kids. Mike calls and they both ignore it. Vanessa suggests they leave and take the kids away from Kingstown.
Mike calls again and this time Kareem answers. Mike asks if he heard about Robert – and he didn’t. Kareem appreciates that Robert saved him but he’s done being a part of that world. He just wants to do his job and forget about it once he gets home.
Mike’s pissed at Kareem’s dismissive attitude and explains he just got shot at by ABs. He needs Kareem’s help, but Kareem is not going to let himself be pulled into this mess.
Mike’s next call is to Ian. He asks Ian to clean up the mess, and Ian almost seems more upset about the Lincoln getting destroyed than the three ABs or Mike’s near-death experience. Ian promises to make it all disappear.
Mike drives like a bat out of hell over to Bunny’s headquarters. He holds one of Bunny’s men at gunpoint as he barges onto the roof and confronts Bunny (Tobi Bamtefa). Bunny pretends not to know what Mike’s upset about, and Mike makes the extremely dangerous move of pointing his gun at Bunny’s head.
Bunny orders all of his men off the roof so he can deal with Mike alone. If they hear gunfire, they should kill Mike.
The situation de-escalates as soon as they’re alone. Mike says there’s a sea of blue at the hospital and they view this as a declaration of war. Bunny replies, “If it’s a war they want, it’s a war this motherf**ker’s gonna get.”
Mike warns that the cops want trophies and he can’t stop them. He also warns that If Robert dies, everything changes between them. Bunny says he’s got love for Mike, but he will take him out if it comes to that.
That situation’s barely wrapped up when Mike gets a call from his mom. Milo (Aidan Gillen) grabs her phone and Mike explains he was forced to miss the meeting and didn’t have Milo’s phone number to touch base. He’s got what Milo wants and says he’s on his way home now.
Mike calls Kyle and tells him Milo’s at their mom’s. Kyle needs to head there now and “come in quiet.”

Mike pulls up near the house and a few minutes later Kyle pulls up behind him. Kyle’s got Ian with him for backup, and it’s only at this point that Mike realizes he left the bag with the bonds in his shot-up car.
Mike enters the house with his hands up, claiming to be unarmed. Milo assures Mike he has more men in the kitchen, so he shouldn’t try anything stupid.
Milo asks for his bonds and Mike claims they’re in the car outside. He also explains he had to face a lot of hurdles to make this meeting including a hurt cop and being ambushed by the AB. Milo doesn’t think that Iris killing Joseph and then showing up at Miriam’s on the same night Mike faced hurdles is a big coincidence.
Milo grabs Iris’s arm, forcing her to come with him outside. At the same time, Kyle’s making his move and attacking one of Milo’s men. Milo hears a noise from outside and one of his guys looks out the door to find its source.
Shots ring out as Ian and Kyle go after Milo and his men. Mike picks up a gun and tries to lead his mom from the room. Unfortunately, at least one of Milo’s men is still alive and he and Mike begin exchanging gunfire. Kyle makes his way inside to help his brother and they team up to take down the last of Milo’s guys.
Miriam was hit during all the gunfire and Kyle goes crazy, realizing he accidentally shot his mom. Mike’s able to calm him down enough to help move their mom to the car. Ian leads the way to the hospital, lights flashing and siren blaring.
The bullet is near her spine, but it didn’t puncture her lung or heart. Ian tells Mike and Kyle that their mom’s unconscious and being prepped for surgery. Ian’s sure she’ll pull through because she’s tough.
Mike assures his brother no one will ever know he shot their mom. It was an AB gun (Mike brought it in from the car) and no one will ever connect the bullet to Kyle. Ian agrees that they’ll blame the shooting on one of Milo’s goons.
Mike reminds his brother he has a child on the way and that he’s a good man. He orders his brother not to let this define him.
Mike’s able to get Kyle to laugh when he says their mom’s going to ground Kyle forever once she wakes up.
But Mike’s not done with this horrible night just yet. Milo brought this to his family and into their home, and Mike’s going to end this now.
Ian chases after Mike as he’s leaving the hospital. Mike agrees Ian can put out an escaped prisoner alert on Milo and even get a helicopter up searching for him. But Mike insists he’s going to be the one who takes down Milo.
Mike and Ian’s first stop is at Milo’s club and Tatiana (Gratiela Brancusi) tries to play it cool, earning a warning from Mike that he’ll make the club the favorite hangout of cops and gangs. Tatiana finally gives in and calls Milo, and Mike takes the phone and demands a meeting.
Milo agrees to give Mike one last chance and sets a meeting for one hour. If Mike brings anyone, they’ll die.
“If I don’t kill him, he’s coming after you,” says Mike. Tatiana is smart enough to know that, and Mike suggests she grab her baby and leave. She’s not worried and claims she has friends who’ll take care of her.
Mike tells Ian to call his friends and tell them about the meeting.
Kyle’s sitting by his mom’s bed when Tracy (Nishi Munshi) calls and says she’s coming back. Tracy asks him to kiss Miriam for her and tell her she loves her.
Mike calls Carney (Lane Garrison) at the prison to find out the status of the AB guards now that CO Davidson’s dead. (Remember, Mike killed him in episode eight.) Mike tells Carney it’s going to happen tonight.
Raphael (D Smoke), Bloods leader Dedrick (Marcus Brandon), and a few other men head to Gunner’s cell. Carney watches via the security cameras and once they’re in place, he opens the Aryan Brotherhood leader’s door. They jump Gunner and stab him repeatedly as Raf snarls, “Message from the Mayor, mother*ker.”
Ian had the cops wait to take away Mike’s car, and they make it to that crime scene to retrieve the bag of bonds. From there they drive to the harbor for the meeting. They park a short distance away and Mike points out a spot for Ian to set up with a long gun. If anything goes sideways, Ian should start shooting.
Ian watches through the scope as Mike grabs the bag and heads to the meeting. Mike’s stopped by two of Milo’s minions and checked for guns. They grab the bag and escort Mike to a boat where Milo and Iris are waiting. Milo checks the bag, confirms his bonds have been returned, and then hands over Iris.
Mike and Iris are escorted back off the boat while Milo remains behind. Milo tells the two men with Mike and Iris to keep them at gunpoint until the boat pulls away. After that, they can do what they want.
The boat takes off and Milo’s men order Mike and Iris to stop. Ian knows it’s go time and gets ready to shoot. Suddenly, the boat explodes and Ian takes out one of Milo’s men. The thug drops his gun and Iris retrieves it and fires three shots into the other man.
Mike puts a few finishing shots into the man Ian shot and then sits by Iris on the dock to watch the boat burn.
Mike’s voice-over wraps up season two.
“Kingstown sits on the edge of Lake Michigan, surrounded by almost a million acres of forest. Trapped by resources it can not extract, it resembles an island more than anything,” says Mike.
The only resource worth selling in Kingstown is the town’s failure; Kingstown’s allure is its prison labor.
“If failure of society could be distilled into one city, this would be the city,” explains Mike.
The season two finale ends with Robert and Miriam still clinging to life in the hospital. And Mike, after pulling off this series of power moves, once again lays claim to the title of Mayor of Kingstown.
However, the real lingering question seems to be the fate of Milo. Did he die in the boat explosion? If so, his phone call with Tatiana must have been after he received the bonds and before the boat went up in flames. If not, then he pulled off a miracle.

The team’s called on to help the FBI on CBS’s S.W.A.T. season six episode 17. Directed by Michael D. Olmos from a script Mellori Velasquez, episode 17 – “Stockholm” – will air on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT.

The SWAT Season 6 Plot:
S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore as a former Marine and locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson strives to bridge the divide between his two worlds. Committed to the job and embracing personal change, Hondo prepares for fatherhood with his girlfriend, Nichelle, the operator of a South LA community center.
The other members of Hondo’s elite S.W.A.T. unit include David “Deacon” Kay, an experienced S.W.A.T. officer and dedicated family man who always puts the team first; Dominique Luca, an expert driver who gets them in and out of high-risk situations; Victor Tan, who started in the LAPD Hollywood Division and uses his confidential informants in the community to help the team; and Jim Street, the team’s cocky newest member.
Responsible for the management of all Metro Division S.W.A.T. units is Commander Robert Hicks, a senior LAPD official with the Special Operations Bureau. With Hondo leading the charge, these dedicated men bravely put themselves at risk to protect their community and save lives.
