“All you do is, you transmit your brain waves into Grace’s memories, right? And then you lead her consciousness out of a nexus portal and Grace awakens,” says Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh) to Barry and the rest of Team Flash as Barry gets ready to try to bring Grace out of her coma to get Cicada to stop killing metas in season five episode 12 of The CW’s The Flash.

As episode 12 begins, Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) is making another entry in her journal for Gideon to send to Thawne. She’s not sure how much longer she can keep secrets from her family and she notes how it feels as though she’s hurting them.

The next scene is with Team Flash out on ice skating rink having fun. Barry (Grant Gustin) races an unsteady Nora around the rink and Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) tries not to fall as he attempts to stay with Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker). Meanwhile, Sherloque is skating rings around them all. (It’s great when they have these short little fun outings with Team Flash to keep the show from getting too serious).

Ralph tells Iris (Candice Patton) that the space across the hall from his old P.I. office is vacant and she should be able to get a good price to rent it out and turn her blog into a real newspaper. (You could almost hear the groans from bloggers who recognize the dream of renting space and starting a print newspaper isn’t possible on just advertising dollars alone.)

Back at S.T.A.R. Labs, Sherloque receives a memory machine from his Earth. It’s the device he used to catch the Mad Hatter and should let someone from Team Flash venture into Grace’s mind and, hopefully, bring her out of her coma. Sherloque informs Barry it needs to be two people together to watch out for each other. And, he tells them about the two drawbacks to his machine. The first is that it’s possible to get trapped in the mind of the person you’re entering. The second drawback is that the machine will sometimes give the passengers access to each other’s minds.

Sherloque suggests the two speedsters team up and go in. Barry is fine with that but Nora looks sick about that suggestion. Nora’s afraid Barry might see her memories and find out her big secret that Eobard Thawne is her mentor!

Ralph asks Cisco (Carlos Valdes) to help him talk to an informant he doesn’t trust. The informant might know where Cicada is held up, so Cisco reluctantly agrees even though he wants to get back to working on the meta cure.

Nora talks to Gideon to see if there’s anything she can do to make sure Barry doesn’t see her memories. Gideon claims there isn’t. Nora then notices Sherloque has activated the tech on Grace’s EEG so she decides to go into Grace’s memories alone and bring her out solo.

Nora goes in and finds herself in a memory of when Grace was at the CCPD after her parents died. Nora talks to Grace and tries to convince her to come with her and that she’ll take her to a place she will feel better. Grace finally agrees and as they head to the portal to leave it closes trapping Nora in Grace’s memories.

Back at S.T.A.R. Labs, Sherloque realizes what Nora has done and calls Barry and Iris who come right away. Caitlin prepares them to go in after Nora. However, Barry and Iris end up going into Nora’s memories – not Grace’s.

Nora’s in Grace’s mind and asks to be taken to a different memory. Grace takes her to her uncle’s home where he’s making pancakes for breakfast. Orlin (pre-Cicada) acts uncharacteristically happy and positive in Grace’s memory.

On a different side of the city, Ralph and Cisco are at a bar talking to Ralph’s source who it turns out doesn’t know anything about the meta-killing Cicada but only about Sicada, the local bad rock group. Ralph tells Cisco he’ll buy him a drink and Cisco realizes Ralph set him up to have a guy’s night out. He gets mad and tells Ralph he’s being selfish.

Barry and Iris look around Nora’s memories, searching for the portal to get out. They come across The Flash museum of the future in Nora’s mind and Barry’s impressed and flattered by all the memorabilia – action figures, posters, keychains, hats, T-shirts, comics, and, of course, commemorative copies of the newspaper with the front page story “Flash Missing.” Sherloque and Caitlin are monitoring Barry, Iris, and Nora and realize Barry and Iris are in Nora’s memories and not in Grace’s.

In Grace’s memories, she’s enjoying breakfast with Orlin. Nora quietly watches but soon realizes the place the portal might be is Grace’s last memory. She asks Grace to take her to the memory of the fair.

Barry and Iris find a Hall of Villains in Nora’s memory and Barry gets upset that his enemies have their own wing in his museum. As they walk through, they discover that Cicada never gets caught and his body count is up to 152 in the year 2024. If that wasn’t bad enough, Iris and Barry witness a painful memory of Iris finding young Nora at the museum and being furious at her for not saying where she was going.

Iris is shocked and upset watching her future self break Nora’s The Flash action figure while yelling at her that they’ll never visit the museum again. Barry tries to tell Iris it’s not really her and if she doesn’t want that to be a memory for Nora, she can change it. Iris truly wants to believe that but is scared because she tried earlier to get the newspaper set up and the only title she could legally use is the “Central City Citizen” – the same paper that has that haunting headline about The Flash vanishing. Iris tells Barry she hoped if she could at least change the title of the paper maybe that would be enough to change the future. Unfortunately, she thinks the future is already set.

Grace takes Nora to her last memory, but it’s not the fair. Instead, it’s when Orlin is at her bedside and he becomes Cicada, swearing to kill all the metas. Apparently, Grace can hear what’s happening around her in her coma. Grace reveals she knows Nora is a meta and her uncle, who loves her, hates all metas.

Over at the biker bar, Ralph confesses to Cisco that all he wanted was to have a night out with a friend. Ralph leaves to get Cisco an Uber ride after apologizing. While Ralph’s gone a cute bartender starts to flirt with Cisco, giving him a drink on the house.

In Nora’s memories the suit of the Reverse Flash has come alive and is looking for Barry and Iris. The suit’s Nora’s defense mechanism and it has come alive because Nora is fearful in Grace’s mind. This is because Grace sends her defense mechanism after Nora – a blonde-haired Cicada. So, Nora’s running from the blonde Cicada and Barry and Iris are avoiding the Reverse Flash suit.

Caitlin uses her device to talk to Killer Frost to connect with Barry and Iris. She then patches in Nora as well. Caitlin tells them the portals to get out are hidden in false memories. Barry realizes the false memory was the Hall of Villains where Iris was horrid to young Nora. They return toit and witness the real memory – that Iris was loving and comforting to a very upset little Nora who dropped her toy figure and broke it. The Reverse Flash suit shows up and Barry and Iris tag team it. The portal opens and Barry and Iris go through.

Blonde Cicada has corned Nora in the false memory of Orlin making pancakes for Grace and is going to stab Nora with the dagger when Barry comes out of the portal into Grace’s mind. He slams blonde Cicada into the wall. He grabs Nora and they go through the other portal with Iris.

Barry, Iris, and Nora all wake up in S.T.A.R. Labs and Caitlin heaves a sigh of relief and says, “They’re okay.”

Caitlin informs Team Flash that Grace has a piece of shard from the satellite in her brain. The doctors left it in, worried it would kill her if they removed it. The energy from the shrapnel is protecting her from them entering her mind again. Nora draws the inside of Orlin’s home so that Team Flash will have a layout of it.

Barry asks Nora why she went in early and she makes up the excuse that she thought she could handle it. Sherloque suggests it was also so she could keep her secret. Everyone looks at Nora with a question on their faces and Nora, wide-eyed, is let off the hook by Sherloque who says Nora didn’t want Iris to see all the sad memories she had of her mother. Nora quickly agrees and walks off with Iris. Sherloque asks Barry what form Nora’s defense mechanism took and Barry reveals it was the Reverse Flash.

Iris shows Nora and Barry an image that indicates she will start her newspaper. Barry’s thrilled for Iris but has to leave to find Cisco. Nora apologizes to Iris for all the incorrect memories and for not giving her a chance earlier when she first introduced herself to them.

Barry finds Cisco showing off the cute bartender’s number to Ralph and asks him if he’s close to making a meta cure. Cisco claims h is and Barry reveals he wants to use it on Cicada.

Nora enters another journal log to Thawne. She’s decided she’ll do whatever it takes to protect her parents, even if it means lying to them.

The Flash Season 5 Episode 12 Review:

Repetitive, unoriginal, and uneventful, season five episode 12 titled “Memorabilia” basically does a mind/memory enter storyline and chase similar but nowhere as interesting or thrilling as the series did in last season’s finale when Barry entered DeVoe’s mind to save Ralph and to stop The Enlightenment. One of the few flaws of season five is the use (and now overuse) of scenes, images, and ideas that are basically reruns of ones originally used in an earlier season. It’s great that The Flash has made it past it’s 100th episode, but the series needs to stop copying and repeating itself and move forward with new challenges, original ideas, and thrilling new fight and action scenes.

It also doesn’t help the show that in this episode nothing gets resolved or unveiled. They go round and round only to end up exactly where they were before entering Grace’s mind. Nora still has her big secret and Grace is still in a coma. Nothing was accomplished. The whole episode was pointless.

With Cisco close to a meta cure and Barry wanting to use it on Cicada, it should be interesting to see how Team Flash feels about forcing a cure on a meta.

‘Roswell, New Mexico’ Season 1 Episode 3 Recap: “Tearin’ Up My Heart”

The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico season one episode two concluded with Liz believing Max likely killed her sister, Rosa. Episode two airing on January 29, 2019 opens with Liz (Jeanine Mason) approaching the investigation of her sister’s death from a scientific point of view. She’s determined to follow the evidence wherever it leads her, but Max is number one on her list of suspects.

Liz pays a visit to Max (Nathan Parsons) on the pretext she wants to help him get over feeling sick since he healed her. His heart races as she examines him and while she stares at his lips, she doesn’t move in for a kiss. Neither does Max.

Elsewhere, Kyle (Michael Trevino) is out for a run/secret meeting with Master Sergeant Jesse Manes (Trevor St. John). Kyle believes that since Liz is still alive, aliens might not be the enemy. Kyle’s not really into this whole top-secret operation to expose the aliens among them and won’t disclose where he saw the alien handprint.

Liz has Max hooked up to a monitor and sits behind her trusty microscope assessing his healing capabilities. She begins asking a series of questions and Max shuts her down, fully aware of what an interrogation looks like. Liz explains she’s just trying to figure out his ability to release electricity and why they leave handprints, as Max grows increasingly uncomfortable. His heart rate speeds up as Liz continues to probe his alien powers. She knows he can heal with electricity but asks if he can harm with it. Instead of answering, he accidentally injures her arm as the monitor goes up in a puff of smoke.

Before they can put away the equipment, Isobel (Lily Cowles) barges in and discovers what her brother’s been up to. After Liz leaves, she lays into him about playing alien autopsy after she told him she would help him figure out what’s happening.

Isobel punishes her brother with the news that Liz and Kyle hooked up the day after he saved her life. “Your handprint was still on her chest,” says Isobel in a taunting voice. Max becomes angry and the siblings argue over relationships and lies. He even throws in her face the fact her husband doesn’t even know they’re aliens.

Isobel reminds him why Liz is gathering data.

Kyle bandages Liz’s arm and they try and figure out their next step. Is Max capable of murder? Liz reminds Kyle she had to provoke an angry reaction from Max in order for him to use his power. She wonders what Rosa might have done that caused Max to become angry enough to kill her.

Spotting one of Rosa’s books with a heart symbol, Liz opens it to find a baggie of drugs. It’s not a clue and Liz is frustrated. She wants a motive for her sister’s murder before she makes Max’s secret public.

Meanwhile, Michael (Michael Vlamis) and Alex Manes (Tyler Blackburn) are spending a little time in bed. They’re interrupted by Isobel who arrives at Michael’s trailer with bagels. Alex doesn’t want to be seen in Michael’s place and Michael leaves, upset.

Isobel reveals Liz is examining Max, and Michael realizes that Liz – a biomedical engineer – is going to be able to dismantle him. Isobel thinks it’s important they get Liz away from Max.

Liz continues her investigation by visiting Maria (Heather Hemmens) at the bar. She shows her the weed she found in her sister’s book and asks if there are any other little secrets of Rosa’s that Maria knows about. Maria points out the ‘no hunting’ sign and suggests Liz look behind it. Sure enough, there’s a CD sleeve with a series of ‘90s song titles.

Liz, who obviously should have been a detective, quickly figures out the song titles are actually clues to other hiding places. Maria already knew that but didn’t want to invade Rosa’s privacy. Liz is fine with doing just that, and Maria goes along for the ride. Next stop: the bridge.

Over at the sheriff’s office, it’s not all about police work. Cam (Riley Voelkel) drops a book on Max’s desk and it’s a first edition. He gets all flirty and asks her out on a date, which totally shocks Cam as she thought they were basically just on booty call terms. She agrees to a date at the drive-in, flirting back.

Kyle visits his mom, a sheriff, and steals a key from her keychain.

Liz and Maria make it to the bridge and Liz finds a loose rock. Behind it is a lunch box with a spray can and a note that reads:

“Dear Rosa,

You will never be alone.

Ophiuchus”

Maria knows Ophiuchus is the 13th sign of the Zodiac, but that designation is controversial. Liz ties some clues together and realizes “a fraudulent zodiac” Rosa had written on her hand when she died might actually refer to Ophiuchus. Liz figures out Maria’s hiding something and she admits she saw Rosa sneaking out of the house to meet someone the week she died. But, Maria doesn’t know who she was seeing.

The next song title – “A Small Town Saturday Night” – leads them to the drive-in.

Coincidentally, the drive-in is hosting a fundraiser for veterans and screening Mars Attacks. Isobel and Michael are there, and apparently Isobel’s plan to get Liz away from her brother is to “mind warp” her. Michael had already suggested doing that but now Isobel’s ready to carry out the plan.

Isobel’s husband, Noah (Karan Oberoi), arrives at the drive-in and Isobel switches into loving wife mode. Michael prepares to leave after fixing the projector, but Alex convinces him to hang around for the movie. Michael agrees even though he hates how the film ends. (Spoiler alert: the aliens die.)

Kyle’s on a mission of his own. He enters the sheriff’s office and uses the key to open a drawer containing drawings and letters. After snapping photos, he locks the drawer and leaves. Max is right outside the building and grabs Kyle by the collar, demanding to know why he was sneaking around the file room. Kyle claims he was just stopping by to visit his mom, but Max is still angry. When Kyle brings up the Wild Pony parking lot (referencing his hook-up with Liz), a light on the side of the building sparks and fizzles. Kyle stares at it and then Max asks if he wants to be punched. Before the action can escalate, Cam shows up for her date.

Max pushes past Kyle, deliberately shouldering him as he takes off with Cam.

Over at the drive-in, it’s finally dark but the movie’s still not on. Instead, the veterans and their families are having a good time drinking, eating, and relaxing. Alex and his dad, the master sergeant, have a brief but tense discussion about his sexual preferences just as Isobel takes the stage and welcomes everyone to the third annual fundraiser for the town’s veterans.

Isobel notices Liz and Maria have arrived and doesn’t seem pleased with their presence.

Maria wonders why they’re at the drive-in and Liz says she’s spying on Max and his date. “Tall blondes are totally not his type,” says Liz. Maria laughs and wants junk food if they’re going to continue stalking Max.

Suddenly, Isobel makes her move. The drive-in falls silent and people appear frozen in place. She tells Liz she needs her to do something, but as Liz turns toward her, she’s shocked to see Rosa rather than Liz staring at her.

Rosa asks, “Why are you being like this? I thought we were friends.” It’s once again Liz standing in front of her and Isobel tells her it’s time to leave town permanently. Liz says she can’t leave, and Isobel demands to know why. Liz replies, “Max.”

The scene unfreezes and Isobel is obviously disturbed by what just happened.

Maria returns with her corn dog and with a new idea about what Rosa could have meant by “Small Town Saturday Night.” It’s not the drive-in.

Roswell, New Mexico Season 1 Episode 3 Recap

Michael catches Isobel vomiting and she admits she underestimated Liz. She confesses she kept having flashes of Rosa even though Liz was in front of her. She could feel what Liz was feeling, and she didn’t expect the connection between Liz and Max to run so deep.

Speak of the devil, Max walks up as Isobel is explaining what she felt. Michael leaves his brother and sister to have it out, and Max admits that maybe he and Liz aren’t meant to be. He thinks maybe he’ll see what evolves between him and Cam.

Liz and Maria make it to the roof of the Crash Down Café. Maria reveals she and Rosa used to sneak up there on Saturday nights after Liz fell asleep. They kick back, smoke some weed, and relax the way Rosa used to on the weekends. They catch up on what Liz missed while she was getting her biomed engineering degree. Then Liz tells Maria she left her fiancé three weeks ago because she couldn’t connect with him.

They stargaze and talk about Rosa’s sign – Pisces – and how they used to look for it in the stars. Liz stargazes for a minute and then spots an electrical box. Inside is a love letter.

Cam and Rebound Max are making out in his car at the drive-in when Liz appears out of nowhere. She pounds on the hood and demands to talk to Max. Max looks apologetically at Cam before following Liz.

Liz hands him the love letter and reveals she knows he was sleeping with Rosa. The letter’s signed by Max.

Liz angrily reads portions of the letter, upset Max slept with her sister. Max explains he wrote the letter for her, not Rosa. Liz points out that he wrote “you touched my lips and I stopped breathing for a week” but they never kissed in high school. Max reminds her that he had hot sauce on his lips for three hours and no one told him. She touched his lips with her thumb to wipe it off. (Max, could you be any more adorable?)

Max thinks Rosa must have found the letter, but now Liz is no longer worried about it. She admits she knows he saw Rosa the night she died. He lied about it and she knows her sister was murdered by an alien. “Was it you, Max?” asks Liz. Max is momentarily rendered speechless.

Liz lets it all out, saying everything about Rosa and the death of the two girls was a lie. Max confirms he did see Rosa on the night she died. That night when he and Liz returned from the desert, he dropped her off, sat in the gazebo, and wrote the love letter. He then slipped it under the windshield wiper of her car. Rosa saw him and was drunk, high, and angry. She shoved him and told him to stay away from Liz.

He didn’t kill her. He drove away but he knew she was messed up. He blames himself for not going to the diner and stopping her or getting her dad. He didn’t tell Liz he saw Rosa that night because he knows she has enough painful memories. “After everything that we have been through, do you truly believe that I am capable of killing someone you love? Liz, I have loved you my entire life, including every single day that you were gone in the last decade,” confesses Max. (This is absolutely heartbreaking and Nathan Parsons is laying all the raw emotions on the line in this scene.)

Max again says he didn’t kill Rosa and asks Liz to leave the past in the past. He walks away as Liz clutches the love letter.

Meanwhile, Kyle’s searching the drive-in for Liz when his mom confronts him. She demands the keys he stole, and he lies and says he did it because he’s in a love triangle with Max. He was just looking for dirt on his rival. Kyle’s mom admits she doesn’t like Liz’s family because they entered the country illegally while her own family had to struggle to legally stay in America. Kyle thinks his mom is a bigot, but she reminds him Rosa killed those girls and it tore the town apart. That almost cost Kyle’s dad the election because the town wanted to vote for a white man instead.

In another part of the drive-in parking lot, Alex is breaking up with Michael. He doesn’t want to be with a criminal, but Michael thinks Alex is just looking for an excuse to walk away.

Isobel makes it home and she’s happy to see her husband but seems conflicted. He wants to know how her night went and Isobel becomes emotional. She’s on the verge of tears as she talks about Max, who is pretty much the center of her universe. Noah understands that relationship and is sympathetic when she says Max is in love and the woman loves him back. He also knows she doesn’t want her brother to be unhappy. Isobel admits Max might have been unhappy for quite a while now and she didn’t realize it. She blames herself, saying it was her fault.

Noah asks her to stop worrying about how unhappy Max is and instead let him worry about how happy she is. He’s set up a romantic dinner complete with The Land Before Time which is apparently her favorite movie. Max clued him in she might need a little extra picking up that night.

Noah proves he’s in the running for Best Husband Ever by telling her she’s his person and always has been.

Over at the Wild Pony, Maria and Liz drink and discuss the night’s events. Liz fills her in on the fact Rosa took the letter to keep her away from Max. Maria wonders why since Max is “harmless,” and Liz responds by admitting Max says he loves her. Still, she doesn’t trust him.

Manes summons Kyle, but Kyle’s done being Manes’ lapdog. Kyle knows Manes lied about how close he was with his dead father, and that Manes never even bothered to visit him in the hospital when he was sick. Kyle believes in the American dream and in law and order, including that people are innocent until proven guilty. He refuses to turn over the name of the person who had the handprint, but he does give Manes the copies of the letters his dad wrote about his alien investigation while he was dying. They’re now even and Kyle’s out of this alien conspiracy madness.

The episode ends with a highly emotional Max unable to get Isobel to pick up the phone. He leaves a message for Michael to come to his place and then heads outside. He pounds his fists into the dirt, sending ripples toward the town. As they reach the town, the power goes out in Roswell.

CBS’s new dramatic series, God Friended Me, has earned a second season order. The network officially announced the renewal and confirmed season two will be part of their 2019-2020 primetime lineup.

The renewal was expected as the one-hour drama’s ranked first among scripted series on Sundays. It’s averaging 10 million viewers and is CBS’s second most watched new show.

“We’re thrilled with how God Friended Me has performed on Sundays. It’s one of the top three new series on television, has improved its time period significantly, and continues a long tradition of prestige dramas for CBS on the night,” stated Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. Added Thom Sherman, Senior Executive Vice President of Programming, “Our amazing cast and producers have done a wonderful job of bringing this series to life each week with humorous and inspirational storylines. Viewers have clearly embraced our characters and the positive message the show delivers.”

Season one of God Friended Me stars Brandon Micheal Hall, Violett Beane, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie and Joe Morton. Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt created the series and serve as executive producers with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Marcos Siega.

The Season One Plot:

God Friended Me is about an outspoken atheist whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from “God” and unwittingly becomes an agent of change in the lives and destinies of others around him. Miles Finer is intelligent, hopeful and optimistic, but he doesn’t believe in God. This puts him at odds with his father, Reverend Arthur Finer, a beloved preacher at Harlem’s Trinity Church for 25 years who is stung by his son’s strong rejection of his faith. Miles feels he’s found his purpose in life hosting a podcast where he’s free to speak his mind, but that changes when he receives the ultimate friend request.

After repeated pokes by “God,” Miles’ curiosity takes over, and he accepts the request and follows the signs to Cara Bloom, an online journalist suffering from writer’s block. Brought together by the “God” account, the two find themselves investigating “God’s” friend suggestions and inadvertently helping others in need. Joining them on their journey are Miles’s supportive sister, Ali, a doctoral psych student by day and bartender by night, and his best friend, Rakesh, a sometime hacker who helps Miles and Cara research the enigmatic account. Miles is set on getting to the bottom of what he believes is an elaborate hoax, but in the meantime he’ll play along and, in the process, change his life forever.

‘Manifest’ Season 1 Episode 13 Recap: “Cleared for Approach”

“Whatever happened to us on that plane also happened to Zeke in that cave,” says Dr. Saanvi Bahl (Parveen Kaur) to Ben after testing Zeke’s blood work in season one episode 13 of NBC’s new mystery thriller, Manifest.

Episode 13 begins back in 2017 with Zeke (Matt Long) in a supply store buying a bottle of water. He makes small talk with the clerk who, as Zeke’s leaving, says he’ll see him in a couple of days.

Zoom forward to present day and Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) and Ben are talking to Zeke about what happened to him. He explains he went hiking for what he thought was just two weeks. It got extremely cold so he found refuge in a cave. Zeke was frozen inside the cave and to stay warm he started burning what he had on him – except for the picture of Michaela. Something happened that felt like an earthquake. The cave shook, breaking the ice so he could crawl out.

Ben (Josh Dallas) and Michaela think Zeke should come back with them to the city and get checked out in a hospital. Zeke says he’s not ready to go anywhere just yet. Michaela tells Ben she’ll stay with Zeke, but Ben wants to get him tested to see if he might be the missing key to what’s happening to them. Michaela knows they can’t make Zeke leave and says she’ll handle it.

Ben’s nervous about leaving Michaela with Zeke, reminding her they don’t really know anything about him. Ben believes it’s strange Zeke hasn’t asked to contact anyone since finding out he time traveled a year. Michaela reminds Ben she’s a cop and can take care of herself. Michaela tells Ben to take Cal to get checked out. Ben agrees but warns Michaela to be careful.

Back in the city at the hospital, Saanvi checks out Cal (Jack Messina) and tells a relieved Ben that he’s fine. Ben gives Saanvi a piece of cloth that has Zeke’s blood on it for her to test.

While driving back to their house, Ben, Cal, and Grace (Athena Karkanis) see a billboard demanding an investigation into the passengers of Flight 828. Cal asks what the billboard means and Ben blows it off saying people have too much time on their hands.

Out in the wilderness, Michaela tries to get Zeke to understand about coming back and losing time. She touches Zeke and they both experience the calling, complete with visions of the two standing outside under the stars at night and hearing Zeke’s voice say, “Go back.” Michaela explains the callings and comes to the conclusion they both need to go back to the cave. Zeke wants to rest for a while before they go. Plus, they’ll need supplies. Michaela volunteers to get the supplies.

Ben, Cal, and Grace arrive home and are greeted by Olive (Luna Blaise) who first hugs Cal and then punches him for scaring her by leaving. Grace and Ben talk and agree not to tell Olive about the Callings to keep her safe.

Michaela finds an old missing poster of Zeke at the supply store and asks the cashier if she can take it. He doesn’t have a problem with her taking the flyer, adding that he believes Zeke killed himself because his kid sister died up on the mountain. Michaela quickly leaves to get back to Zeke.

Jared (J.R. Ramirez) visits Ben and Grace to see how Cal’s doing and to see if they know where Michaela is. Ben explains that she stayed up in the mountains because she needs some alone time. A rock comes crashing through a window and a male voice is heard outside the house yelling, “Freaks.” Ben and Jared rush out in time to see a truck speeding away. Jared gives chase as Ben turns back to the house and finds a big red X painted on his front door.

Michaela returns to the cabin to find that Zeke has left. She hurries out and quickly tracks him down. She brings up his sister, Chloe, and Zeke stops dead in his tracks. Michaela tells him she’s trusting him, and he needs to trust her that they need to go to the cave. Zeke reluctantly agrees to take her to the cave but that’s it.

Olive confesses to Ben that she knows about the callings. Ben asks how and realizes Cal told her. Olive thinks Ben didn’t trust her with the secret, but he explains he trusts her and was only trying to keep her safe. He promises his daughter there won’t be any further secrets between them.

Michaela and Zeke find and enter the cave to investigate. While looking around they touch again and experience the calling. Once again they find themselves outside under the stars. This time they hear Zeke’s voice saying, “Go back.” Michaela realizes it’s not the cave they need to go back to. Zeke tells her he thinks the calling wants him to go back to where Chloe died, confessing he killed his little sister.

Michaela asks what he means by that and he reveals that when he was 15 he took Chloe with him hiking. He took a call from a girl he liked and told his sister to leave him alone. That’s when she had the accident and died. Michaela tries to tell him he was young and Zeke gets angry; he doesn’t want her to make excuses for him. Zeke’s sure it was his fault. Michaela agrees it’s his fault, adding that she gets it. Michaela then confesses she killed her best friend because she was driving when they had an accident and she’d been drinking.

Ben visits Saanvi and she’s excited to reveal that Zeke’s blood sample checks out. He went through what they did. Saanvi also says she did some checking and there was an electrical storm in the area where Zeke was hiking when he disappeared/time-traveled. Ben thinks maybe black lightning might be responsible for the time shift. He then tells Saanvi to be careful, admitting he worries about her, especially since the incident at his house.

Michaela and Zeke make it to the spot where Chloe died. The location’s marked with a plaque his parents had made in her memory. Zeke reminisces about how he and Chloe used to build little towers. He admits his parents wanted him to build one at her memorial. Michaela thinks she and Zeke should build one for Chloe now.

<>Jared catches the creep who vandalized Ben’s house but doesn’t have enough on him to make it stick. He shows Ben that the creep has a website dedicated to investigating the passengers from Flight 828 because he thinks they can’t be trusted.

Later at home, Ben sees a picture in Olive’s book of the peacock he saw a few weeks ago in a calling. They start to talk about it and she explains in some mythologies a peacock is the symbol of resurrection. Ben’s peacock lesson is interrupted by a call from Jared letting him know he had to let the suspect, Cody Webber (Patrick Murney), go.

Ben pays a visit to Cody at his place of work. He demands Cody leave him and his family alone. Cody shows him a photo of Cal and says, “Cute kid. I wonder if he bleeds.” Furious, Ben gets in Cody’s face and warns him if he doesn’t back off, he’ll see what a man who came back from the dead can do. Police show up to take Ben in because Cody has been live-streaming everything.

Grace talks to Cal who’s sitting outside on the porch and he asks what’s wrong with him. He believes he’s a freak. Grace tells Cal not to listen to those mean people. Cal wonders if he’s still himself after disappearing, and Grace assures him he’s still her son and that a mother always knows. Cheered up a little, Cal goes inside to help with dinner.

Jared yells at Ben at the police station, telling him he played right into Cody’s hands. He warns Ben that if he does something like this again, he won’t be able to help him. This time, however, he’s let go with just a warning.

Zeke and Michaela finish building the tribute tower, but Zeke doesn’t feel any better. Michaela thinks it will help him feel the weight of what he’s carrying feel a little less. They touch again under the stars and experience the same calling, only this time it’s Michaela’s voice instructing them to go back. Zeke figures out he’s supposed to go back with Michaela to the city and as they start to head back, Zeke holds Michaela’s hand to help her step over some dead logs. Lightning flashes and lights up a drawing on the rocks that looks like Michaela and Zeke holding hands. Lightning flashes again in the sky above them.

Grace hears someone at the front door at night and when she opens it, she sees Ben trying to get the painted red X off the door. Ben’s emotional and says he knows he can’t explain what’s happening to him and Cal and he can’t stop people from fearing the passengers from 828. However, what he can do is get this ugly X off the front door and she needs to let him. Grace touches his hand gently and tells Ben she needs him here at the house. It’s his home and they’re a team. They kiss and she starts to help him clean the door.

At the hospital, Saanvi’s leaving for the night. On the way out of her office, she sees someone has painted a red X on her door.
